The way I was told, Khorne was first, and existed when the first man killed his brother in anger, or as the Mongols began to claim their empire. Nurgle came from the black plague. Tzeentch was born from the Machiavellian era. Slannesh is from the eldar empire, but historically probably the 60's.

You mean "awakened".

The Chaos Gods always existed in the Warp. That's how Be'lakor contacted them before any of them "awakened". The Harlequins also state that the Primordial Annihilator aka Chaos has been waging war on the universe since the dawn of time.

As concepts they've always existed, it's only when the warp was tainted and corrupted by the war in heaven that 'Chaos' as we know it came to be.

Khorne as a god was probably born in that time, as was Nurgle. War tends to breed hatred and despair quite well.

Tzeentch was more than likely born during the same period, but a little bit later. More than likely he was fueled by the desperate hopes of all the species caught in the crossfire when the Kork, Necrons, Eldar, Old Ones, and C'tan all decided today was the day to fuck some shit up.

Slaanesh also existed as a concept, but was more than likely spread out over many different fertility gods, gods of happiness, ect ect. Basically any god that thought with his, or her, dick/vagina first and brain second if at all

When the Eldar started to redefine what the word Perverted meant then the distaff parts of it coalesced using them as a focal point, then boom, Fall of the Eldar and birth of the new Chaos god.

If I remember correctly, Tzeentch was the second to be "born", for lack of a better word.

All of them, none of them and some of them like the black plague, gengis khan's attacks and modern era political intrigues or galaxy wide elvish baccanalia.
All at once and retroactively so, because the gods are so detached from physical laws and the concepts of mortality they can as well having been birthed and awakened multiple times while also having always been and actively influencing their own manifestation.
Paradoxical you may think, relative to multiple points of view in truth is as the warp is but the twisted reflection of an eye looking back.

The Chaos Gods being born from events happening on earth make no sense just like Doombreed being Genghis Khan.

>The Harlequins also state that the Primordial Annihilator aka Chaos has been waging war on the universe since the dawn of time.
That sounds like poetic liberties on the part of the Eldar, the warp did not become the Realm of Chaos until after the war in heaven and the destruction of the Old Ones.

Common misconception, but the real-world events alluded to in The Lost and the Damned were not credited with creating the Chaos Gods. It was the other way around: the gods woke, and made all those things happen.

Chaos was still described as a primarily human creation though.

...

"Khorne was the first of the Great Powers to wake fully, and an era of wars and conflict raged across the globe. Tzeentch was the next, and nations and politics grew to adulthood with all of their implicit intrigues and double-dealings. Nurgle was the third to awake and plagues swept across continents claiming many souls for the Lord of Decay. By the end of the Middle Ages all three of these Chaos Powers had awoken to full consciousness."

Nah. Chaos is the Warp. Always was and is.

And the clowns know about Chaos more than anyone because you know they have access to the Black Library of Chaos.

But that's wrong. Nurgle came first the lexicanum says so!!!!

>‘Listen to our pleas. Do not let the orks distract you, nor any other threat arising from the temporal realm. The gods of the Othersea will not stop until this galaxy is their plaything. The threat they pose is millions of cycles old, the actions of your Warmaster but the latest act in a war that has raged since the time of the old races. For the lifespan of stars my people have opposed them. You are naive if you think Chaos defeated. I have been sent with this one message – do not neglect the Dark Gods, for it will mean the annihilation of us all.’

Since everyone's already gotten the warp bullshit answers out of the way, here's the more clear answer you were probably looking for OP

pretty sure khorne is one of the crusades, nurgle was the black death, slaanesh was the death knell of the eldar and i don't remember what tzeentch is

Question, does the violence of Orks fuel Khorne, or Gork and Mork?

both

Then why the fuck hasn't Khorne got off of his fucking throne yet, especially considering the few infinite WAAAAAAGH!!! loops that have ocurred

'cause that would involve GW advancing the plot

true

"I don't want to deal with this clusterfuck! Jensen, take care of it. This board meeting is adjourned."

Thats a load of shit and you know
