>What's your terrain mix?
I assume this is asking theme, and our group has a bunch, we have a casino/boom town, now a "eastern" board, a carnival board, a desert board, and a derelict ship board.
>how much terrain?
a lot, and it's gonna be even more when I finish up the forests, graveyard, hanging trees, and victorian buildings I have in store. and all of that is if I decide not to do some vegetation like bushes and some green area cover (considering I had a player bitching at me and our lack of forests last week)
>Do you base your models based off what would look cool on your model or to match the playmat you normally play on
Depends usually whatever looks cool.

There's apparently a modest Malifaux scene nearby me. Can you give me a rundown on the rules, or an example turn of play?

temp-share.com/f/wktjomdiqw/4523669ae2b9d0b11121b51252b3dc093a7e2f6c5858b5dabc0709faced7fef3

You flip to see who decided who starts the turn, then you take turns activating models, spending 2 AP (3 if they're a master) and one 0 action, then everything ends and you score points and the next turn starts.

Duels are either against each other or a TN. For a TN you need to reach a target number with your Ml/Sh/Ca + your flipped card, for opposing duels you need to get the same or a higher total than the defender. If there's funny little faces on the card you get a nice little bonus if your card has that face too.

Having played against 10T brothers frequently I'd say they are the thing I most envy in the 10 Thunders. A cheep hard to kill scheme runner that protects scheme markers? Holy shit, at least Performers are mercs so anyone can hire them.

what do you guys feel about the crossroads 7?

viable pick for games or just a silly gimmick?

All of them are viable for certain crews.

The "entire crossroads" is a mid tier crew if you take i pay better and the +1 to auras in outcast.

Reposting from the previous thread.

Is a Child good with 'On The Clock' Guild McMourning?
I had the idea of making a little surgeon assistant that Douglas has taken under his wing in lieu of the Chihuahua.
Plus I think them pulling rank on the Guild with 'On Order of the Governor’s Secretary' would help out.

Can they give out Precise? I think that would be pretty scary, the interacts sound okay but being able to give out precise without wasting doug's precious AP is pretty awesome.

It's a (1) Ca action, so yeah no reason they can't (aside from the TN, I guess. I think the Child needs an 8+).

After months of searching I picked up that alt Lady J sculpt, it's shit. Don't be fooled.

That could work. The chihuahua doesn't get much use besides a cheap abdication since Guild don't play the poison game very well.

Does McCabe dismounting summon Killjoy?
I'm certain it doesn't but I just couldn't be bothered arguing by that point.
I had a shit day at work then this guy is trying every single dodgy trick like he could only have fun whilst cheating, I was on the ropes and he would have won with or without killjoy anyway, all it did was mince my remaining blood wretch.

Just checked the wording, mounted McCabe is removed from the game, not sac or killed so no Killjoy.

Thanks.

>Precise
I totally overlooked that. I was more weighing up the use and humour of a child ordering people about vs a Poisoned doggie.
Thanks for reminding me.

You could also do up the Brutal Effigy in scrubs.

So with that being said would you run 1, 2 or 3 of them?
Which masters do they work best with? I would assume Lynch right out because of your ability to hold aces.

I was thinking the Carrion Effigy with a head swap and probably have the mask around their neck or pulled to the top of their head.
Also alter the staff.

Here's my Sim29 guys.

Well as mentioned last thread one is useful to any master and also not bad for denying hunting party/make them suffer.

I would only take two in pools with lots of schemes that use markers, protect territory, breakthrough, etc. Though some of the gaining ground schemes can be stopped without removing the marker, convict labor and leave your mark come to mind. It would be rare that three would be worth it over other options.

As far as synergy goes:
Lynch -- has ace in the hole for their dance and for going defensive. They add a few free flips to fish for said aces.

Shenlong -- lets them go defensive as a 0 action or focus which is good with their wide damage spread.

McCabe -- always likes good minions and his Saber makes them hit hard on top of being tough.

Asami -- she already likes scheme marker strategies and the brothers help there plus the focus thing mentioned before

Brewmaster, Yan Lo, Misaki, Mei Fang -- no particular synergy just if you need what they bring to the table

>Brewmaster vs McMourning would be a clusterfuck of a matchup.
The guys playing before my game today did that match-up.
It was indeed a clusterfuck.
There was about +40 Poison on the table at one point. Nightmare.

Then I played the McMourning player and Gotrek'd - I think the final score was 8-1.
It was, to be fair, a pretty killy scheme pool, and a lot of his shit was very resilient. I also misplayed several key activations, and forgot a bunch of pushes and places that would've given me much more advantageous positioning.

Nonetheless, the McM pushes, poison auras and condition stacks were absolutely crazy.

So, any tips on the McM Vs Colette matchup?
I am new and not very good.

Shit how?
What's wrong with it?

>Sim29
What is it?
Ze goggles do nothing, I don't have my books handy, all I can tell is that it's McMourning related.
His Avatar form? A mega-Flesh Construct?

Typically, you are not going to beat colette at the scheme game. Destroy her beaters, then spend the rest of the game going for your schemes and the strat. An ugly win is always better than a pretty loss.

Well if he was using the Transfusion upgrade(I think that's what it's called) to move poison from his models to yours get performers in there to use their Sip of Wine trigger first. Nothing like a flesh construct stripped of poison and damaged in the process. Beyond that focus on schemes, maybe get a few more killy things to help out in the more killy pools.

What do you have for Colette?

It's the avatar for McMorning

McMourning's avatar. Good Carrion Emissary or Archie proxy.

1st ed Avatar. McM would summon a super monster call Simulacrum 29.

I was playing Colette.
He did pretty much exactly that to Joss - Poisoned, Paralyzed, more Poison and then a couple of prods to put him in the death-zone.
Then he did it to Cassandra too.

35ss.
Scheme-wise, it was (from memory):
Reckoning
Murder Protege
Assassinate
Bodyguard
Frame for Murder.
& Line in the Sand

I took Line and Frame.
Colette (Trapdoors and Dove-summoning), Cassandra (Df trigger), Joss, Performer, Freikorps Trapper.

>Cont.
He was running a hospital crew - McM box plus the Starter box models.

I deployed foolishly, then moved foolishly, and pretty much got tied up in the middle and let him load poison on Joss and then Nurse Heartsbane got Conulsions(?) off on Cassandra to drag her though his lines after she'd activated and put her down to a couple of wounds.

Virtually everything ended up dying because of the Aura triggering Poison at the start of the activation, except the things that Grimwell decapitated.

I got thoroughly outplayed, only a small part of which was because I didn't understand how his crew worked.

...

gremlin arcanist dual faction fucking WHEN

i want some alcohol gamin

I just want Gremlin/Resser. And instead of a crazy witchdoctor just have it be Dracula or something.

I would like to see a gremlin/guild hybrid where there is a gremlin master thats like a smaller lenny; strong, but stupid. There would be 3 totems that he takes, each one has a different ability that pisses off their master where you can call him names or fat or the like. each time that happens it would piss him off / damage him / make him faster or stronger that turn. the fluff around him being that the master just thinks he is a tough guy the its really the totems that are leading the crew.

youtube.com/watch?v=XG8dgN6x2EA

Noice!

When is Wyrd gonna update their promotions page? I wana know if I am buying stuff this month for a free model

Ew, don't touch my faction, it's bad enough that we had to get the token TT dual master.

you will take it and you will love it

Does Veeky Forums or the thread have a good spot to post trade requests/fodder? Or is using the Wyrd forums better?

We only dual with real factions.

I like that idea. Fake vampire teeth and"mesmeric" eyes.

Alternatively a master taxidermist would be cool.

What are your looking for?
Wyrd might be a better bet.

I'd use the "wyrd trades and off-topic" facebook group.

I didn't know about that one. Thanks user!

What's the average SS count in crew boxes? + / - how many additional models should be bought to have 50SS worth of minis?

It only looks good from the pictured angle. Once you deviate, it's flat as hell, has terrible anatomy, and looks more like an eldritch attempting to impersonate a physical three dimensional being.

So it'd make a good Viktoria proxy?

Heh, I wish.
Comparing this to the Vik alts would be a disservice to the concept.

Gadzooks man, they sell singles.

I think the average is around 35SS. Some are way low (Kirai is like 12SS) and others are high (Perdita can hit 50SS easily)

Typically, a crew and either another crew or 1-2 boxes can get you set up.

I know, but if I can get rid of stuff I'll never use for rare stuff that I'd like or multiples than whatever it's a better deal.

My bad, misunderstood.
Here's some data.

Wow, forgot the link.
>themostexcellentandawesomeforumever-wyrd.com/topic/117589-crew-boxes-total-ss-per-box-plus-averages-and-other-data/

No worries man, I do appreciate the suggestion. But with luck I can roll the die and not pay $20+Shipping for Papa Loco's plastic.

Took about five minutes for someone to start negotiating for the Vintage Rasputina.

Yea, some of their prices can be a bit ridiculous. I just get cheap duplicates.
You have any vintage outcasts, preferably non dual factioned?

Sadly no. But my plan is to get the Vintage Hamelin next when I get enough guilders. I have no interest in the rat man but I'll gladly trade and only ask that my tourney fees be at least partially recouped. I like the game, so fuck scalping stuff that I'm going to earn anyway.

Oh and let me be smart and list what I have if folks are interested.

>Miss Terious (Built and painted by a local professional. I do not have the card.)
>Miss Fire (Unbuilt and still on the sprue with a card in poifect condition)
>Alternate Francisco (built and painted by me so it's rookie work. But all parts are there so the paint can be stripped. I do have the card)
>Limited Edition Katanaka Sniper (Pack in from Jorogumo. Card was curved on the edges but it is legible and model on sprue)

I'm looking for a Hamelin or primarily a 300-900dpi scan of the card.
What are you looking for?

Well I don't have one right now and it'll be some time before I get more guilder (With Nova season not sure when the next tournaments will be). Are you looking for the new stat card with the vintage face or just a regular one? If I win the stat card/model I'll be glad to trade either. I'll talk to my TO's about the card.

I'm looking for
>Sensei Yu or a built/painted Yan Lo for my >Papa Loco (New Plastic),
>Lazarus for Vanessa Shenanigans, >Abominations and Mindless Zombies/Seishin for Rusty and Anna summons
>Viktoria's avatar because I can't bring myself to buying old dude on donkey.

Money is always nice

>Lazarus for Vanessa Shenanigans
Campaign user here. What sort of shenanigans? I know our viks player is going to be getting Vanessa soon, and I'd love to point her int he right direction from there.

Vanessa can use command construct to make Lazarus take 1 actions. So free walks, focus, or shots are sexy. Plus they help fill the Viks void of a lack of ranged.

So I've been considering my crews and options, and I'm at a loss. I'm trying to give a short description of what each of the Masters I own does, and from there I was going to write a list of what schemes and strats they're good at, so I could peek at it during the list building phase. What I have so far:

Mei Feng: Anti-ranged, melee beater, mobility (Constructs).
McCabe: Minion Support, Speed, AP Control (Slow/Fast).
Yan Lo: Durability (Ascendants), Repositioning, Melee Beater
Shenlong: ??????

I'll admit I've only played with the man once, but how do you qualify what he does? What would you say he even does? Specifically, what would you use him for in schemes and strats over others, and what would you use others for instead of him?

Shenlong: Everything

Flexibility and support.

His ability to stance dance lets him change to the match the situation, and he let his crew rack up huge amount of Focus just by spending 0 actions which most minions don't normally have.

>he let his crew rack up huge amount of Focus just by spending 0 actions
I've managed to miss this. How?

Yup, I assumed so. Just trying to hop in queue early.
Really just the stat card, and even then I'd only want it to scan it in 900dpi myself.
Only ones I can trade are Lazarus and Viks Avatar, otherwise money is preferred.

Also, I'd sooner classify Yan Lo as disruption rather than melee beater. He's pretty much made for throwing a wrench into the enemy's plans, getting into the thick of it not to kill things but simply to tear their group apart.Counterscheming or whatever.

As for Shenlong, he goes well with everything except purely killy schemes, and even there he's still an okay choice. He's a all-round flexible buff and even debuffer, healer, and can dish out huge counterattacks once in a while.

Lynch is damage damage damage. Also card advantage* (*damage) and more damage.

Misaki is a sideline harrasser who can at any moment turn into a scalpel that dives in and kills out whatever you want.

Mei Feng is more of a Brawler than a beater, and isn't really designed to take on big targets, more groups of targets.

McCabe is support for everyone. The minion thing only applies for Black Flash. And his AP control is more of a Slow-debuffer. He can't hold a candle to Shenlong for overal AP control.

Brewmaster is Debuffer. That's it. Don't bother with the poison and focus on how easy it is to kill something with a - to everything/drain their hand 5 cards per activation and likely kill/paralyze it while you're at it.

Well I'll see what I can do. I'll shoot out a message to the local Henchies or facebook group after Nova weekend. Cause no one's paying attention right now. All I got is the normal Hamelin card and I could mail that to ya.

Yes, the m2e vintage specifically. I have the m2e regular version.

With that in mind, would you mind listing what schemes and strats you think they're best at? Specifically for Yan Lo, SHenlong, Mei Feng, and McCabe.

Is that what it looks like? Dammit Wyrd, make a vintage vikky so I can get on that!

Anyway, If I win my next two tournaments I'll order this up and get back to you

Without going into all schemes individually...

Yan Lo is ideal for anything that requires control of board regions. He can so casually tear group structures apart and occupy large groups of units (never bother with the Kakkura, take Misdirection instead), and combined with Relinquary basically capitalize on the fact that neither Yan nor any of his crew are even worth the effort it takes to kill them, since they'll bounce right back up again in seconds.

McCabe, especially if you have some guild hounds, is the best schemer TT has. He can get across the field in an instant, and lets his crew follow suit. His upgrades make it so that any model in his crew can double as something to occupy the enemy. Basically anything that relies on your crew being apart, he can do really well in.

Mei Feng is a Brawler. What that basically means is that she's essentially designed to take the heat off her team. With the - to Ca/Sh, large engagement range and incredible speed, she can tie up swaths of models while her crew gets on with whatever it is they're doing. From what you have she's the best at killing, though the three remaining masters are all better at it than she. I'd say she's more a pick for when the opponent is bringing a large amount of models and challenging that (Arcanists/Ressers with a schemepool that rewards bringing more models), rather than scheming herself. Despite being so fighty she's not ideal for fighty schemes.

Shenlong is almost like McCabes close-range counterpart in what you take him for? Amazing at scheming and counterscheming with his Wandering River Style, brings huge control over your and your opponent's models and placement, and is really just a great pick at almost any kind of scheme. Even fighty schemes he does well at as, like McCabe, he's basically a force multiplier for his crew. Except Shenlong brings amazing healing to boot. And free focus for everyone.

As for crews, Yan and Mei are very tied to a specific core of models and printed synergies, while the rest of TT basically consists of a master that does whatever it is he does and a crew that might capitalize on that, but never has to rely on it. McCabe might want a huge minion, Lynch might like people who discard or gain +++, but in the end you can essentially make a list that's good at the schemes you want to do, and then paste a master on top of it.

>you can essentially make a list that's good at the schemes you want to do, and then paste a master on top of it.
So Infiltration isn't worth considering?

Shock treatment

Infiltration is great. You can include models you normally couldn't either as standalones or to complement your master.

Mei loves metal gamin and the golem, McCabe is great with hounds or any Guardsmen, Lynch loves depleted and stitched, and even Yan Lo might hire an onryo now and again.

Book 4 adds great stuff to infiltrate, namely Wokou Raiders for Misaki and Goryo for Yan Lo.

>Infiltrate
What is?
How does it work?
Or does it just mean dual-faction Masters can still take TT units in the 'other' faction?

I don't have my books available to me.

>Playing Collodi last night for one of the first times
>Playing with Coryphee
>Lililth pulls one of them in with her stupid BS spell, fails to kill. Collodi My Wills it twice, chain activates it, it kills Lilith
>The Coryphee (pair) then proceed to kill a Teddy, Mr. Graves and others

Those things are fucking ridiculous. Good God they're good.

I am and idort, found my .pdfs, never mind.

>The Coryphee (pair)
You don't mean a Coryphee Duet, I assume, because they can only Dance Together in Arcanist crews.

But yes, they are great surgical strikers.

Nah I meant just two individual Coryphee

And even tanking they seemed ok. Hell they get positives to pretty much anything. Of course, Collodi makes them kind of bonkers.

This did come up though just to make sure this is right:

My Will states the Minion can make a 1 action that gets positive flips to any duels. The Coryphee 1 action MI also naturally gets a positive flip to any duels.

That means if Collodi My Wills the Coryphee it gets a double positive on that attack right?

Also--if it states "Within 6 inches.."....it doesn't require LOS right? So you can My Will around a corner?

That's right the Coryphee will get [+][+] and flip three cards for the attack/

As for My Will it says "Target minion within 6 inches", the use of 'target' means you need line of sight.

Ahh ok, well I screwed that part up then. I My Willed through a forest...

Thanks user. Couldn't get a more detailed info.

>Kirai
>14 SS
What?
I was planning on getting Kirai as my first crew because of the entire mythology aspect but if her box is worth so little then what would I have to buy just to get to 35ss or even 50?
Is she a horde force or something?

Don't get a summoner as your first master. To be effective they all need a huge amount of extra models.

Almost all Ressers are summoners, venturing into them you are looking at something like 150+ as a starting point. Some models are more useful than others though, so you can pick those up first. In my experience though other than the seishin and maybe one onryo you won't bring the rest of the box. Kirai wants a datsu ba for more seishin, a box of gaki, a box of drowned, maybe jaakuna umbae depending on how you want your list, one hanged at least for summoning, izamu, and some shikome. She doesn't really use totems that much, some people rave about the gravyard spirit but I've never gotten a ton of use out of it.

Is it just the model count that's an issue? Because coming from 40K, Malifaux looks rather cheap by comparrison.

Thanks the the advice.

Yeah, basically. If you dont have any limits on your wallet you can start with whatever.

It's not that she's a hoard so much that most of the stuff in her box she'll get for free. The ikirio is summoned not hired, same with seishin. Then the Lost Love and Onryo are just cheap.

That is a good summery of what she'll need. I'll just add in that Philip and the Nanny from take back the night is also very good for the card draw they can give and the Crooligans in there are also quite good as scheme runners.

With 40k I tended to buy one thing a week or fortnight. Less no limits and more collected at a slow pace

> free
that explains it.

Not a bad plan of attack really.

Most of the things she needs can retail for less than $20 if you do it right, so she won't be too bad to slow build.

>Because coming from 40K, Malifaux looks rather cheap by comparrison.
It is. You can buy a crew box for about what you'd pay for a single tank for 40k.

I probably could have bought all the models for a faction for less then i spent on my 1500pt guard army.

I thought lost love was pretty much an auto include.

I think it depends on who you ask. He's a bit pricey, so I could see leaving him out. I almost always run him.

>What's your terrain mix?
I've actually been attempting to replicate vassal maps to sort of establish standard terrain. I use templates as the functional terrain, but attach 3d representations to reach for looks. Very nice for ease of play.
>how much terrain?
1/3 or 3 cubic gets worth.
>Do you base your models based off what would look cool on your model or to match the playmat you normally play on
I base on clear acrylic, only plebs or competition modelers go scenic. :^)

Today I learned I get tumblr-tier triggered about people pronouncing Ml (ml) as MI (mi).

You're not alone, user. I get triggered by people saying "Ml" as "emm eye"

Isn't that short for melee? I always thought it was M, lower case L.

It is

Exactly. I can see how Ml is visually the same as MI but OH WHO AM I KIDDING Sh IS RIGHT THERE, SECOND LETTER LOWERCASE, ARE YOU PEOPLE BLIND OR FUCKING RETARDED when they make that mistake I try to correct them politely.

>clear acrylic
That actually sounds pretty cool. Where do you get clear bases?
