He averts his eyes from Aaroniero and looks at you.
"And how do you suppose I do that?"

"I don't know, just make something up!
Tell them that the area is under a quarantine or something!
Anything to keep them away until we can hide this."

"R-right...
But I want to do a full examination as soon as possible!
Kaizar, this might be the breakthrough we've been looking for!"
With that he takes off to hold up the incoming Espada for as long as possible.

Aaroniero gives you a curious glance.
"What breakthrough?"

You grab his hand.
"Not now, help me to that table there."

"Oh... right."
He carefully helps you to sit down.

After finding a position in which you don't fall over he lets you go.
"Thanks... damn anesthetics are strong."
You grab hold of your second sword and utilize its hilt as a cane for extra support.
"Now, can you somehow turn this off?
Yata won't be able to hold them off for long."

He looks at his palm and gives it a squeeze.
"I'm not sure how...
I don't even know how I activated it."

"Just try what feels natural.
I can't help you more with that."

It takes him quite a few moments to turn off his second resurrección but he somehow manages.
To your shock he no longer possesses two heads floating in a jar.
His new default form took on the appearance of Shiba Kaien with the addition of both mask fragments of Aaroniero attached to it.

Your eyes widen as his old form doesn't seem to come back.
"Y-your face... you have one now."

He touches his head with his right palm.
"It seems like I do.
I can confirm that I also got a regular body too."
He puts his old mask back on.
"I guess this might be necessary."

"Good thinking.
I don't think the others won't absent for too long now."

What was that about a breakthrough?"

"Oh that..."
You lean heavily on your cane.
"My evolution seemed to have reached its limits not too long ago.
With my progress crawling to a halt like that we figured I must have hit the ceiling of my current form.
And it only seemed logical that we'd need a major breakthrough to advance. Your new form is exactly that."

But speaking of time, it seems that we just ran out."

From one of the rather large openings blasted open by Aaroniero jumps in Grimmjow.
He is looking all over the place with bloodshot eyes.
"YOU TWO!
What the HELL happened here?
'Cause I felt that fuck-huge reiatsu that was exactly like Aaronieros and I demand answers damn it!"

You planned on addressing him but Aaroniero took the lead instead.
"Nervous Grimmjow?"

"I'm saying you look like someone who just awakened to a harsh reality where they'll be replaced soon."

A hand is quickly extended towards Aaroniero and grabs his collar.
"What did you just say?
Say one more word jarhead, SEE what happens!"

But just as he spoke Grimmjows other hand smashed into his head.
The sound of the impact was quite loud.
"can't do anything to me now."
He resumes as if nothing happened.
Grimmjows eyes widen as Aaroniero grabs the hand holding his collar.
"Now get your hands off my clothes."

In response to this the 5th Espada jumps back several feet and raises his hand.
As the crimson light gathers in his hand he begins shouting.
"Take this you asshole!"

"Grimmjow..."
And in that moment as you spoke a surge of reiatsu washes over the blue haired arrancar.
Cold sweat appears on his forehead and he ceases charging the blast.
"You fire that thing and I'm cutting your arms off.
This is a restricted area, by being here you directly opposed my orders."

And in that exact moment the other members of the Espada make their appearance with Yata in tow.

"Sorry Kaizar, I told them it's restricted."
He shrugs.

"Everyone, there was an explosion and several potentially dangerous substances were let loose.
It's best you all leave while we try to fix things."

"More shady dealings Kaizar?
Esca speaks up.
And you can't weasel your way out of this either, what with Aaronieros absurd power spike just a moment ago.
I'll personally contact the master myself!"

But Aaroniero steps forth.
"There's no need for anything like that Esca.
I can perfectly explain myself and Lord Aizen will definitely agree with me.
I've decided to subject myself to an experimental procedure which would increase my power and therefore my usefulness to Aizen.
If I were you I'd be more careful with accusing others since you haven't done anything akin to my actions for centuries now.
Be careful you are not the one deemed unnecessary to our lord and master."

"For someone whose powers have been stagnating for centuries you sure talk lot is what I'm saying."

While this is going on you can feel the anesthetics wearing off slowly.
With a lot of assistance from your cane you manage to stand up.
"Thanks Aaroniero but I can defend myself."

It's Amas who answers this time.
"That jarhead? You must be joking.
The powerboost was impressive sure but he had a crutch and his reiatsu returned to normal anyway."

Aaroniero visibly tenses up.
You put a hand on his shoulder.

Your powers are still unstable and we don't want another accident."
You whisper to him and turn your attention back to Esca and Amas.
"And if you want to know, then I'll tell you.
Aaronieros ability had a nasty side effect which inhibited his powers from surfacing.
We removed that and his powers increased temporarily.
Over time he'll slowly get more powerful, we are expecting a 30% increase.
Aaroniero do you feel like anything to this?"

"Not really.
Except..."
He puts his hand on his mask and removes it, revealing his face.
"The next one who calls me jarhead... is dead."

With the shocking revelation you all returned to your duties after dismissing everyone.
You had to keep a low profile as to not draw any unwanted attention since you were sure.
They called Aizen anyway.

They appeared out of nowhere, without notification.
An impromptu council session was held upon their arrivals.
With his typical smug expression behind his spectacles he looks over you.

"My dear Espada...
One of you have told some interesting things to me and I came to check on you."
His eyes focus on you.
"Kaizar...
Care to elaborate?"

As I am sure you are aware, Aaroniero's ability had certain drawbacks. Those drawbacks were slowly but surely degrading his mind. Without a change he'd have ended up insane, relegating him to be an attack dog much like Marr was, but without the benefit of his massive strength. He'd have been at best unstable, at worst a threat to everyone in the area. So I sought to fix the issue, and it was a success. The increase of strength was a happy side effect from getting his two psyches to reconcile.

You stand up.
"Certainly my lord.
After careful examination we figured out that his powers were detrimental to his health.
We had to take a risk and attempt an experimental operation.
Luckily we were successful and after a brief spike in his powers Aaroniero already shows signs of growing stronger."

"Oh?
And just what kind of experiment was that if I may ask?"
You can feel shivers crawling up your spine as he is looking at you.

"I'm not a scientist my lord.
As such I can't tell you exactly what it was."

"Then who performed this operation of yours?"

"One of my subordinates.
He is a man of science and a trained medic, I'd put my life in his hands."

He closes his eyes, it seems you are out of the danger zone.
When he opens his eyes he looks at Esca and Amas.
"You two..."

They tense up.
"Y-yes master?"
In that moment an immense reiatsu makes them dry heave and hunch forward onto the table.
"If you overstep your boundaries and dare to disturb me again..."
The reiatsu then vanishes as quick as it came.
"Well, it's alright I guess.
I wanted to come here anyway.
But before I speak my mind, I see we have a new face among us."

Nnoitora stands up with a wide grin.
"I found him Lord Aizen.
He swore loyalty to us in exchange for the secret of Arrancarification."

"Really now?
Please, step forth and introduce yourself."

"Rudbornn Chelute.
It's a pleasure to meet you, sir!"

"Rudbornn I humbly welcome you to our family."
He spreads his arms.
"And now, allow me to do some introductions."

"Please step forth and welcome your new brothers and sisters.
Ulquiorra..."

From behind Aizens shadow a pale figure steps forth.
His skin is white like ash, his eyes green with tear like marks running down under them.

"It's a pleasure to meet you."
He spoke with a monotone voice.

"He is going to be the newest member of the Espada."
Aizen spoke.

"Hah! It seems that this tramp finally be where she belongs!
Right under us!"

"Actually Amas, after this little incident of yours...
You two will be moved to the Privaron."

"What?!
B-but..."

"I think it's a fitting punishment to you.
From now on Ulquiorra will be the 3rd-"

"Hey! Just what's up with this?"
Nnoitora speaks up.
"Lord Aizen, you can't be serious...
This scrawny guy? Third?
He wouldn't last a second against me!"

You can't quite measure this Ulquiorra fellows strength.
Regardless of that Nnoitora seems determined to fight him.

Though to be fair, Nel's the current third Espada.

Come on Spoony, Aizen has a good eye for potential at the very least. But I'm sure as per the rules of this organization you could challenge him right away for his position.

This'll be one hell of a fight, though, I'd imagine.

Tell them to schedule it for the arena, instead of bringing this up right in front of lord aizen. The man has important things to do, doubt he's going to want to waste much time here.

On an entirely different note, though...get up and go to shake Ulquiorra's hand, and give him a formal welcome. Tell him that, later on, we'll throw a feast to honor his achievement of becoming an espada. Be real friendly to him.

Ulquiorra has plenty of personality. It's just stuck behind likely decades or centuries of depression. He's going to be pretty dull at first.

This seems smart, we dont wanna have to show off our goo in front of aizen unless we absolutely have to.

After you lead them to the arena quite a large number of hollows began swarming the coliseum as Nnoitora is quite notorious for being an unbeatable monster.
The large crowd quickly began cheering for the reigning champion of the arena while they also boo Ulquiorra quite hard.

Nnoitora doesn't waste much time and calls out his opponent.
"Ya hear that?
They want a fight, you'd best prepare yourself."

However Ulquiorra simply stares at him.
"..."

"Tch, ya really gettin' on my nerves you know that?"

"How pointless."

"What did ya just say?"

"Judging by your posture I can already tell.
You won't be able to beat me."

Nnoitoras grin widens.
"Oh really?"

Nnoitora tightens his hold on Santa Teresa and begins walking to his opponent.
In a flash he charges Ulquiorra and tries to smash into him with his weapon.
The pale arrancar displays emotions for the first time and quickly draws his sword to block Santa Teresa.

Without any warnings Nnoitora unleashes a flurry of blows with quick succession.
Ulquiorra manages to block each of them with very straightforward motions.
After this quick exchange they disengage.

Nnoitora spits on the ground before speaking.
"Heh, at least you can tell when you are about to be messed up."
But Ulquiorra sheathes his weapon which doesn't amuse Nnoitora.
"What are you doing?"

"As I said before, this is pointless.
You are nothing more than a brute. With these attacks you'll never beat me."

With an angry shout Nnoitora charges Ulquiorra who simply starts dodging his blows.
None of the attacks manage to connect and this made Nnoitora quite furious.
"Stop prancing around you bastard!"

It's quite a sorry sight as one arrancar keeps flaying around with his weapon while the other keeps avoiding him.
Eventually however even Ulquiorra gets bored.
"Master Aizen, may I kill him?"

Aizen also seems to be less than thrilled about all this.
"Do whatever you wish but try not killing him Ulquiorra."

And as if he just heard the magic word the white skinned arrancar draws his sword once more.
Without wasting a second he manages to side step an overhead blow and delivers a horizontal cut to Nnoitoras chest.
But just as the blade makes contact it simply bounces off of the intended target.

Everyones eyes are wide and you could feel the awkwardness of the whole situation.
Nnoitora however breaks the silence with a howling laughter.
"What was THAT?
And you were talking shit about me?"
In that moment Nnoitora lets go of Santa Teresa and the huge hunk of metal falls to the ground.
He spreads his arms, welcoming Ulquiorra.
"Come on! I'm giving you another shot!
Hit me as hard as you can!"

Ulquiorra frowns and grabs hold of his sword with both hands.
With a forward thrust he attempts to stab Nnoitora in the heart but his blade screeches to a halt after hitting Nnoitoras híerro.
Nnoitoras smile widens greatly.

"Can't even scratch me huh?"
After another laugh he simply raises his hand.
"I give up. He wins."

The crowd goes silent.
Their reigning champion just forfeited a match.

You give a passing glance to Aizen who seems to be less than satisfied.
"I guess I overestimated his potential."
He mutters to himself.

But your guess is that he simply underestimated Nnoitora.
The two of them are more or less equal in fighting prowess but in different categories.
Their fight would drag out forever with one being too fast the other being too strong.
It's more of a draw really.

wonder if we can get them to be sparring buddies so they pick up a bit of each others specialties, sad bat could learn to take hits better and spoon mantis can always use more speed.

Attempt to have an Arrancar use the sword of another Arrancar. Long term, for proper synchronization. I doubt it will let them use each other's ressureccion's but who knows?

That honestly sounds like some sort of arrancar equivalent to marriage, since the swords hold a bit of their soul iirc. maybe Kaiser and Harribel should try it.

Afterwards you went to Nnoitora.

He shrugs.
"I got a laugh out of it, so yeah."
And that's the last he ever talked about it.

With the fight in the arena concluded Ulquiorra took Nnoitoras place as the 4th and according to Aizens order it were Esca and Amas who got demoted to Privaron, which Cirucci enjoyed very much.

And for the next 20 years you continued to oversee the development of Vanaheim.
Once the 4 pillars and the wall was finished your dream of creating a hanging garden was finally reality.
In addition to that you finalized the training of both the army and the exequias, making both of them quite fierce units.

However despite all of these you still had some free time which you spent...
