>not "chaos isn't eldar tier, thus traitors hate is ghazkul tier" edition
Hudson Parker
So is this the first time the explicit wording of "X Battlefield Role" has come up?
Brody Hernandez
How do I kit out a Tacmarine Sergeant? Combi-weapon, I know, but what about Melee weapons?
Power Fist? Power Sword? Chainsword? Plain old Combat Knife?
Nathaniel Collins
no. Its been a standardized term since the start of 7th
Brayden Smith
>post yfw Fenris isn't getting a second book and the Space Wolves arch-enemies didn't even bother showing up for the book about the Space Wolves almost getting annihilated
Adrian Nguyen
i recommend kitting him out with a black dick in his mouth, because loyalists like that
Adam Murphy
No, nothing.
Not even a combi weapon, what the fuck use is a weapon you can only shoot once?
I mean, unless you design your units about fluff instead of MAX OPTIMISATION then just do whatever desu.
Charles Lewis
...
Noah Lopez
Really? Odd that I've never noticed that wording before. Oh well, I have the dumb.
Xavier Diaz
Any Blood Angel players who can help me figure out how to expand this collection? With the possibility of Blood Angels getting a decurion, I figured it was time to help my sister actually make a decent list. So I was wondering what models she should buy in the future to expand her army in a way that'll help her now and possibly when the next supplement hits. She has a Librarian, Astorath, Sanguinor, 2 Death Companies, Jump Chaplain (played as Lemartes), Sanguinary Guard, 20+ Tactical Marines and a Rhino. I figure she needs more transports, some Dreads and Dante and/or Mephiston, but other than that I have no clue what to recommend to her.
Brody Brooks
off the top of my head, at least, the warrior/wych elite upgrade uses that term (may be upgraded to true born, changing their battlefield role to elites)
Grayson Ortiz
I don't collect either army, but I was really looking forward to the Space Wolf vs Thousand Sons grudge match. I hope that they're just holding on to it to coincide with the HH Inferno release. although I doubt it.
Brayden Butler
How viable would the new possessed formation, a nurglemace prince and the warpsmith + three land raiders formation be?
Juan Mitchell
Thoughts on my black legion list?
Was 2k points but had to take out mah land rayder formation.
Brody Martin
Tried to trick Army builder into doing Traitor's hate stuff? Nearly pulled it off, too.
Colton Cooper
finally, a way to field defilers without a bunch of other things
David Bell
>le ebbin "what good is a combi-weapons" may-may
Adam Diaz
Based on advice from last thread, here's my updated KT:
SoB KT 200pts
Celestians x5 Flamer >Specialist - Infiltrate Heavy Flamer >Specialist - Exploit Weakness Superior w/ Bolt Pistol and Chainsword
Dominions x5 Melta x3 >Specialist - Eagle Eye Melta >Leader Veteran Superior w/ Bolter and Bolt Pistol
I went with Celestians because they have Furious Charge, Ld 9, and 2 attacks base for only 5 points more than a battle sisters equivalent.
Liam Hernandez
It's shit. Either the Land Raiders are blowing up transports, in which case they aren't getting the Possessed into combat, or they're getting the Possessed into combat, where they'll be forced to attack transports and promptly get shot to death by the occupants.
Don't worry though, I'm sure someone will be along shortly to tell you that the new formations are excellent and you'll be fine.
Logan White
That's the kind of off the wall bullshit that the Thousand Sons need! How do you feel about having your soul bound to a suit of armor, son?
Colton Torres
I want to pick one start collecting box to play some kill team games at LGS and paint the minis with my Age of Smegma paints . Which one should I buy? Tau and Space Wolves seem to be a decent choice with pretty varied miniatures pool in their sets.
Logan Stewart
1500 pt tourney coming up at my lgs at the end of the month. First one for me. Maybe ITC or Nova rules. Lot's of hard hitters because I live in Virginia. Been getting my ass handed to me by the tau tourney guy at the shop for practice.
1 Dreadknight, greatsword, h. pyscannon, h incinerator, personal teleporter - 225 1 Dreadknight, greatsword, h. pyscannon, h incinerator, personal teleporter - 225
Idea is to have 4 different units/threats that are hard to kill for the average unit, as well as dish out firepower. Will struggle hardcore vs msu armies on objectives though.
Elijah Carter
Chaos Space Marines just got an awesome, powerful, and revolutionary new supplement. You should pick them.
Luke Diaz
Does anyone here use flyers often? I'd love to use this thing but I doubt many people keep AA handy
Ian Perry
tyranids and orks are the 2 strongest armies right now
also their start collecting boxes have the best value
Ryan Miller
Holy shit, is this stuff actually almost kinda maybe just a little not utter garbage?
Jacob Rodriguez
...
Christopher Morgan
>Why dont my formations let me kill my opponent with no resistance or obstacles at all waaah
Andrew Baker
You're right it's not complete and utter garbage. It's still shit that does fuck-all to actually help the faction.
Joseph Sanchez
I tried to use my xiphon interceptor a few times, but most people at my shop don't like to play against flyers, so I just keep it around if someone else brings their own flyers.
Lincoln Wright
For casual games it actually looks like it could make it FUN to play CSM for a bit
Juan Fisher
Nice maymay bro :^)
Ian James
We went over this. Imagine how stupid you look to ork players right now
Leo Morgan
>ALL units in the formation get objective secured neat, but not that neat
Asher Rodriguez
>chaos shit talking any army >when they're celebrating over getting some mediocre formations, including one shitty version of the loyalist ones
Benjamin James
its not a meme
they actually are the best kill team armies, and their start collecting boxes do have the best value.
Brody Rogers
There start collecting boxes do not have the best value. And eldar still exist, so no, they are not the best kill team army.
Adrian Jones
>There start collecting boxes do not have the best value. they do >And eldar still exist, so no, they are not the best kill team army. they are better than eldar
Camden Richardson
Remember, Chaos Space Marines can't have Drop Pods, because that would just make them spikey loyalists.
Aaron Thomas
>Orks - Total: $129.50 with savings of $44.50 >Nids - Total: $133.75 with savings of $48.75 >Tau - Total: $141 with savings of $56 So no
Ian Phillips
>saves like $50 >not a good value just keep flinging shit at the wall
im sure itll start sticking sometime
Josiah Lewis
His point is that Tau have a BETTER value than they do.
And in terms of effectiveness, Tau also has a leg up.
Nicholas Miller
>they do No, that would be skitarii. Who give a saving of 56 dollars, compared to orks 44.5$ and nids 48$. So no. Not best value. By 8$.
Joshua Nelson
Anyone that thinks that getting fucked over by GW is a zero sum game is a retard whose opinion isn't worth noting. GW has more than enough shit to give all the NPC races a good smear. The free boon every turn working with the roll twice benefit is neat, and should be fun for casual games. It's just a shame that they did fuck all to fix the army's issues and the faction is still fucked on the competitive scene. This release also blows all the formations released with the BL and CS reprints back into utter irrelevance, which is just an extra slap in the face. Powerful factions like Eldar, Space Marines, Tau, and AdMech getting better formations than shitty factions like Orks and Chaos Space Marines is bullshit, shitposter-kun.
Josiah Hughes
You said BEST VALUE - not GOOD VALUE. Pls stop this cancer, save it for your family or something
David White
not him, but how would orks or nids even deal with a few windriders backed by warp spiders? I mean the speed and maneuverability alone seems disastrous for nids and especially orks?
Zachary Walker
>claims something has best value >get proven wrong >hurr durr it's still a good value. Nobody said it wasn't a good value mong. But it's certainly not the best value.
Kayden Powell
unfortunately most of the start collecting boxs have one MC or vehicle you cant use in kill teams
Noah Davis
Remember, 30k Marines do get drop pods, because who the fuck wants to play CSM without all the cool loyalist shit?
Nolan Moore
Nice goalpost shift, shitposter-kun.
Adam Anderson
>And eldar still exist, so no, they are not the best kill team army. can't split fire in kill-team, outside of one specialist
Hordes and toolbox units like deathwatch/sternguard are the more useful dudes in kill-team.
Ryan Phillips
Chaos Space Marines already have drop pods in the fluff and there's no thematic reason that they shouldn't have them in-game.
Ayden Hernandez
>can't split fire in kill-team, outside of one specialist Yes, and? Every man for himself is a thing.
Hudson Clark
by having like 40 models
Carter Butler
Actually I would like to play a Nids army but their SCBox looks poorly compared with other boxes. I mean, I want to play for fun and shit so only 3 types of minis? No, thank you
Matthew Lee
Maybe if Chaos ever had drop pods the model would look less fucking gay than the loyalist one.
Justin Carter
I can't be fucked looking at all those photos and the tiny text on my phone. Is there a Death Guard/ Nurgle helpful formation in there?
William Gray
>csm models > ever looking better than loyalist equivalents Yes, stick spikes and weird shit on loyalists models, that looks sooo much better in all seriousness, there are a few that look better, but for the most part GW design strategy for chaos is that
Levi Martinez
no cult anything except berserkers
This is a chaos undivided release fag
Juan Cook
Honestly the Sons need something. I'd argue that the only reason people like them is what they were like pre-heresy and their paint scheme.
All they do is get jobbed by the Wolves with an unclear recruitment or replenishment method. Magnus is getting rekt by BL and with him gone maybe even Magnus-posting will die out (One can hope). Ahriman is still stuck almost doing something worthwhile I guess, but retcons so who knows.
The Rubric was supposed to be a power up for those that survived it yet theres no sense of how scary it should be to come across one of these guys.
Andrew Flores
>Yes, and? It means you can't just apply scatter lasers and death spinners to your problems.
Killteam is far from balanced, but the typical eldar strengths aren't what breaks it.
Connor Cruz
M80 if I didn't bumlove all the spikes and weird shit I'd play another army.
Michael Morales
So how would I turn my Scion Army perfect for HoA kill team into some GW rules would like?
Some people I know would rather play it so yeah :P
I have 2 Scion Squads and a command squad at my disposal with a offico perfectorum commissar aswell
Cooper Reyes
I started playing in 2nd Edition, when Chaos was one faction. Chaos Space Marines, Daemons, and even the Lost and the Damned were all contained in one book. A daemon prince was a true nightmare on the tabletop. Heck, I could even include stuff from Imperial army Codexes for a points cost markup.
My question is this: Is Chaos in a better place now than it was back then? Can they do more? Or are they more limited?
Juan Baker
Chaos are absolutely cucked and I'm saying that as a Chaos player.
Justin Cruz
>Is [army] in a better place now than it was [in 2nd edition]? no
Josiah Rodriguez
Chaos overall is in a better place. Chaos space marines just using the GW stuff, not so much.
Jason Anderson
HEY
NIGGER
YOUR EMPEROR IS A CORPSE LOL
WHAT ARE GUARDSMEN EVEN FOR IF ANY CHICKENSHIT CHAOS SPAWN CAN KILL HALF OF THEIR REGIMENT LMAO
YOU FUCKING NIGGER CUNT
AAAAAH KURWAAAA XD
James Lewis
One or two threads ago we discussed it, basically here's your list:
Militarum Tempestus Scions
Troops - Scions - 100 2x Plasma Gun
Troops - Scions - 100 2x Plasma Gun
Give your plasma gunners specialist things to make them not die (preferred enemy, master crafted, feel no pain).
You could also run a platoon of them out of the IG book if you really wanted a Tempestor, but having one extra wound, WS 4, Ld 9 may or may not be worth it.
Hudson Perez
NO DROP PODS EVER YOU FUCKING SHITPOSTER
Grayson Brooks
I actually like Rubrics but dislike the pre-heresy Thousand Sons/Color Scheme
But then again I like Rubrics so take that for what you will
Hudson Sanchez
And guard can have like 60, so I guess they are the best of the best.
Chase Johnson
>bs2 >t3 >best of the best
Aiden Scott
depends on what you want from him
If yo have a 5 man team with melta a combi melta is good, to have a better chance to do damage. A Meltabomb might be handy, too and not too expensive.
If you have a 5 man team with a missile launcher in the backfield, ever point for upgrades is wasted, vet-sarge- shooting weapon etc.
If you want a midfield unit to clear out enemy not-so-strong infantry or support your heavier hitters a powermaul might be good, to get some S6 attacks which are useful against vehicles (almost all have rear armor 10). It might also be a good idea to 'intercept' a challenge for an ic especially by a model that hits before the ic does
normally I would suggest to save on points as they wont get into melee with anything where a weapon would make a difference. Meltabomb is always something to consider, coz cheaps and you get a second grenade attack as its one grenade per unit and per type
Hunter Watson
Well it's so easy to tie people up in combat in KT that you could have 2 dudes per MEQ and then just focus-fire whoever's open.
Ian Morales
>Abimtoo babimtoo le for the emproneh xD
What did he mean by this? Could he mean that he's a fucking cunt and a whore? Could it be possible that Space Marines are the shittiest faction in all fiction? Could he mean that everoyne who likes them is a faggot?
Jose Anderson
Anybody got the Kill Team rules download? I downloaded it but I can't find the file. Maybe I didn't. I know I had to fuck around with readers to read it...
Any help would be appreciated.
Mason Ramirez
Fuck I only have one plasma gun each in my models eh ill just say one of the hotshot lasguns is a plasma gun.
James Thompson
Just the idea or the execution? Cause honestly I cant think of a single piece of fluff where they 'achieve' something.
Also not shitting on you. Thats just my opinion from talking to 1ksons fans.
Stick a priest in that mob. When it comes to tarpitting they really are the best of the best.
Gavin Wright
>you will never be this buttmad
Bentley Martinez
they are pretty much generic religious knight fanatics.
Tyler Ramirez
Just plasma guns not HSVGs? I like the list but I guess plasma is better and less cumbersome than the volley guns
Juan Ward
>t4
30 orks would beat the shit out of 60 conscripts
Juan Evans
Drop pod would be good. Also Razorbacks as you can easily make them dual use as rhino/RB Landspeeder/ attack bikes with multimelta Something that has ranged firepower vindicator is something to consider, especially for BA due to being fast.
I would refrain from too many HQ units. Maybe get a cheap librarian with jumppack
Gavin Russell
If you want, try converting extra plasma guns out of the plasma pistols and grenade launchers.
You could also justify using HSVGs if you make the guy Relentless, since then he's got a 4 shot AP 3 bolter, which is nice.
Logan Parker
orks have T4, which is relevant in 200 point games
that said, guard have way more variety
Jack Hall
I love the idea of ultra-powerful sorcerers using the souls of their dead kin as golem bodyguards. I also like the pre-Heresy Sons. It's a shame that the one is absolute garbage and the other doesn't exist yet.
Thomas Sanders
Yeah, you're getting the same number of shots (since you're on the move all the time in KT) with better strength. As I said inthough, you could make the case for an HSVG as your Relentless specialist.
Kayden Anderson
>plasma guns with PE >not volley guns with relentless You do remember that 3+ is as low as armor saves can go, right?
Oliver Perez
Holy fuck, Poland, calm down. God damn.
Wyatt Lewis
How obsessive do you get with making your own character models? Do you just use GW's kits or modify them? Do you make your own? I've kit bashed a full libbie conclave, three techmarines, and am going to end up doing a few more librarians for the deathwatch because I just have so many parts for them
Lucas Rodriguez

In the previous thread, someone was talking about running Crimson Slaughter with the Traitor's hate Possessed Detachment (1 Daemon Prince + 3-5 Possessed), and then taking Malefic Daemonology to give the Possessed 2++ (3++ from one of the Possessed mutations which you get automatically, then Cursed Earth). As long as you bear in mind that the effect of the formation happens in the Fight sub-phase, (meaning no beast movement UNLESS you roll that mutation in the movement phase anyway), it works. It's probably a better idea to make the Daemon Prince a psyker for Daemonology instead of taking a sorcerer for it; it saves points, and the possessed have to be within 12" of the DP for the formation to work anyway.
This is assuming you can field any formation with a Daemon Prince in it as Crimson Slaughter in the first place, as it's contentious as to whether or not you can - on one hand, Renegades of the Dark Millenium says "No Models *can have* VotLW", and Daemon Princes/every special character (also Thousand Sons, but nobody mentions them because they're so bad nobody cares just kill me now) come with it; on the other hand Daemonheart specifically says that it can't be taken by Daemon Princes, which would only make sense if you could take DP's in a Crimson Slaughter force anyway. It's a grey enough area that you could argue for it with good grounds, in my opinion, and only the most anal cunts would throw a fit over it in the first place. Though having said that, if you're fielding 2++ possessed, you may want to be ready for some grumbling from your opponent, in either a tournament or casual setting. I reckon the formation is balanced though, even with Cursed Earth shenanigans. It relies on positioning, Possessed have no grenades, are expensive, are strictly a close combat unit, and you can always just shoot the fucking daemon prince anyway, same way you deal with Tyranid synapse. TL;DR Crimson Slaughter + Traitor's Hate Possessed Formation + Cursed Earth = Probably Yes
Benjamin Cook
It's the slav shitposter doing his new gimmick, just report and ignore.
I don't have the rules for KT, but is it possible to take Priests or Pyskers? If they could get that Rending power thing, it'd be neat.
Blake King
And even with the HSVG's S4 you wound MEQs on a 4+, and can't even glance their Rhino except from the back.
