Isn't T6 W6 better than T7 W5?

Is there literally any reason to run vanilla CSM's with MoT?

crisis suit with 2 plasma rifles and the thing that lets him overwatch at BS2 (he's also the leader)

6 fire warriors and a missile thing

2 piranhas

I was thinking of giving one of the firewarriors infiltrate so I can stick him in a good place so he doesn't have to move much to keep the missile bin by him

Was thinking of giving a piranha or another firewarrior one of the weapons specialists ones like +1 BS or sharpshooter, maybe even give the piranha more range as 27" would mean I can try and keep it as far away from fire as possible

Not sure what to do with the third specialist at all but executioner does seem decent

It's Tuesday, where's my full codex leaks at? Chaos must rise again... or at least get painted finally.

4th one for best kill team species

No. No reason to take MOT on anything without other access to an invuln, and you should never take it on paykers.

Is a Vindicare cheesy? I'm struggling to think if my precision shots should be more hard-earned rather than literally picking out which missile launcher, melta/plasmagun I remove per turn.

But that said, it's still 4-6 dude he picks off MAX. It's not wise to use him against vehicles and ICs are still a bit of a pain but I don't want to use something that might be cheesy.

Anyone wanna talk about what a Khorne Daemonkin Kill Team would look like?
I do not own any Rhinos for a 'zerker squad.

48 Khorne Berzerkers? Oh boy, 6 Blood Tithe points!

No, if you're optimizing. I advise you to run 1k Sons instead.

T7 = immunity from S3.
Not huge. But I'd rather have a T7 5W than T6 6W

No, he's the worst assassin by far and rolling a 6 isn't 'earning' shit.

Worst? Dude's got an AP2 rifle at 72" with ammo that wounds on 2s. His hits are always precision shots (as in you can always allocate, not just on 6s)

Great, ~~150 points to kill 5 special weapon guys over the course of the game, if your opponent doesn't bother to send any shots his way.

Speaking of assasins
How good are (Vindicare) assassins in Apoc, has anyone ever played with single assains in apco games with them?
Was thinking of getting a Vindicare to run alongisde my Eldar

Also on unrealted thinkin of using this for a leet sniper autarch with Uldanorithi Long Rifle

>Was thinking of getting a Vindicare to run alongisde my Eldar
Are you running a farseer in love with him?

.....no

The point of assassins is to save you points, cause you can essentially remove those guys from the game with how easy the Vindicare makes killing normal dudes. He'll very rarely make his points back, but he might save your dreadnought or vehicle from getting mulched by that meltagun pointed at his ass before it has a chance to fire.

His range and ammo variety by far makes him the best assassin, cause you can hide him all the way on the otherside of the board in cover and be almost impossible to harass.

Oh shit, I had no idea Aun'va is dead. RIP big Tau man.

Eh, they're better without the manipulative ass.

Probably directly responsible for more tau deaths than any other person.

Why doesn't Khorne have noise marines?

Anyone here have ebooks for Shrike, Storm of Damocles, Watcher's in the Dark or Calgar's Siege?
Cheers anons

r8 this Kill Team

+ No Battle Role (Troops) +

Chaos Cultists [7x Cultists, 7x Replace Autopistol with Autogun]
Cultist Champion [Autopistol, Take a shotgun]

+ No Battle Role (Fast Attack) +

Chaos Bikers [3x Bikers, Flamer, Meltagun]
Biker Champion [Bolt Pistol, Melta Bombs, Power Sword]

Real talk, is there any way to make a good tyranid kill team? I mean, one that's not just warriors and hormagaunts.

The melta gun that popped your dreadnought did so the turn it came out of its transport.

Not everyone runs the most optimal setup. And the Vindicare can pop that transport so your other dudes can drill the meltagun full of holes. It's versatile.

Could you use Tyrant Guard?
I use them in Recon Squad

>Real talk, is there any way to make a good cake? I mean, one that's not just sugar and flour.

Or even you wreck the transport with someone else and THEN snipe the meltagun. Think outside the metal bawks, nigga.

Because that's muckin' about.

Axe->Face

Terran Marines are more likeable than Space Muhreens and Zergs look cooler than Nids.

??

I thought Tyrant Guard could only come with an HQ for them to guard? Maybe I misread that rule, but I was pretty sure they were out.

Cheesecake. Bam. Still has sugar, but no flour.

(You)

fuck mistyped
I meant Hive Guard

Any more details on this?

T6 means my guardsmen can FRFSRF him to death.

And you'll tell me "bullshit, you'd need 300 shots to kill him at that point."

And I'll laugh and do it anyways.

jesus i need this in my life

Khorne hates hearing them from the next house over when he's in his backyard, he decided once to get Khornate Noise Marines but they got bored. When you just want to murder, the noise marines wanted more than that. So they jumped over the fence to the Slaanesh orgy party.

More likely to just shave a hull point and make the guys inside take a leadership test, single shot ap2 isn't going to pop often, and transports are more than common for every level, from casual to tournament.

99% of cakes are more than just sugar and flour

>Cheesecake. Bam. Still has sugar, but no flour.
How do yo make the base without flour?

Well traitor's hate dun give me that option.

Crumble biscuits or cookies and mix in some evaporated milk to bake a biscuit base.

Oh, good call. One could make a good tank buster, or at least a fun unit when there's a lot of a terrain.

On that note, I never understood the lore behind impaler cannons, or whatever they're called. Are they just homing missiles that can make a full 180 around corners?

>Crumble biscuits or cookies
How are they made without flour.

Shit. Foiled, again. Back to the warp, I guess.

What paint looks like this? Vallejo makes a paint called Magenta Fluo which is pretty close, but not quite perfect.

They've got tiny wings and fins on them that alter mid flight, and the Hive Guard guides them using the Synaptic Link to other 'Nids to see through their eyes.
Dosn't matter if the Hive Guard can't see you, the Ripper can see you there for the Guard knows where you are and can shoot you

Codex Deathwatch

Good, Mediocre, or Bad?

Personally I like the idea of being able to deep strike in a kill team and light up the enemy before they have a chance to respond. I also like that each unit can be heavily customized for specific tasks.

Just hoping that they give HQ models the option to take a stalker bolter.

Must have it now!!!

Fuuuuuuuck that's a sick Chaplain.

I do not understand how to count points for each model in KT. Is the scan missing something? Or I'm just dense?

Also images for a 40k group chat? Right now we have a derp cron.

It's not bad. There's some really powerful options and some pretty useless stuff too.

I personally don't think it is competitive as a stand alone army, but it will probably work really well with the right allies.

>that guy with the armor fetish

I am that guy.

You buy a normal squad for the normal points and then split it into one -model units.

I have no idea why but girls in armour really do it for me

Hard exterior soft interior.

Girls with nothing on really do it for me.

Ah, well that is not as fun as I thought.

Here I was thinking I could have different models from differnt units like in HoR.

>tfw you will never pierce through the hard exterior of a tough, no-nonsense female knight to find a soft and caring interior
>tfw you will never have sex in a full harness after walking on your hands into your wife's chamber

Why bother?

I want to come back to 40k but I'm worried about the actual state of GW.

It's just a meme or can I buy Skiitari without worrying that the company will get out of bussiness?

It kind of ruins that knowing that people in armour would just piss and shit in it as it was too much effort to take off

if GW went out of business, Skitarii second hand prices would shoot up

nothing to worry about there

>Implying that doesn't make it better

There is nothing to fear. Everything is fine.

When a corporation gets to the size of GW they need to fuck really hard.

If you get proper support is another story.

Also chinaman penitent engines. 6 of them at 1000 points or lower work rather good.

How do I chinaman I want a Barracuda

you don't it is a secret club reddit assholes post the commits all the time

Just rolled some dice to see what's better, 6 Sniper Drones or a Vindicare, since I wanted to see how one stacks up. The drones, even with BS5 and within rapid fire range, only once actually managed to kill a squad of 5 marines out of like 10 turns worth of attempts. The rest is mostly maybe 2 marines and not even the special weapons I'd want dead.

Meanwhile the Vindicare took out the special weapon almost without fail every turn. I think if you wanted to de-claw squads, the Vindi's by far the best choice. Sniper drones seem to offer just more anti-infantry with the sniper portion as an afterthought. You can't RELY on it, which you should be as a sniper.

Didn't Veeky Forums have a china man that would occasionally post price lists and stuff?
I remember it from a few years ago.... fuck hell I'm getting old.

Thanks, time to destroy some miniatures with the painting technique of a toddler.

So you're saying the larger amount of drone is better at killing a large amount of grunts, where the elite sniper's better at single targets?

We had one, and posted his lists and info willy-nilly, then his web-shop got several take downs and payment freezes.

So now it's invite only.

Thin basecoats, then small amounts of brown wash.

You can only fuck it up by trying intentionally of having no sense for colour.

That is EXACTLY what I'm saying! Holy shit, get out of my head, Charles!!

Well no, fucknut. I'm saying the sniper drones aren't really good snipers. So you shouldn't rely on them to snipe if you NEED that. I'm honestly at a loss as to which to field. I love the look and vibe of a drone team and that IS extra BS5 markerlights, good synergy. But I think I may have enough anti-infantry (41 Pulse rifles at max range, 8 burst cannons, long-barelled burst cannon and some carbines) 6-12 shots at 48"24" doesn't seem like it's worth the tradeoff.

Thin your paints, use washes, and do highlights. Also, very basic basing for your minis.

Trust me, I suck at painting, and just doing basic stuff and taking the extra time makes your minis look better than 90% of the stuff out there.

So which squad sergeant does Veeky Forums think is the best? For points invested, which is the absolute killiest squad leader? My money goes on a Striking Scorpion Exarch with claw; 57 points for a 2 wounds, ap2 at initiative powerhouse with 4+ cover in the open. This dude has made at least twice his points back for me every game I've fielded him. Kill record for a game has to be: 2 Necron Wraiths, 4 Warriors, 2 Scytheguard and a wound on the Overlord before he went down like a bitch to the Warscythe. Gotta love that I6.

Step by step process of building a kill team
>buy a unit of X
>equip the unit of X with whatever equipment you like while following unit X's codex and rules
>make sure that the point value of unit X is under 200 points
>go to the gaming table and put down your unit of X on the table
>begin playing Kill team
>from now until the end of the game your unit of X is treated as muiltiple individuals instead of a unit

I would like to say this must take one whole unit thing sucks, I so want to buy a single orgyn to run in a kill team but the smallest unit of orgyn is 3 :/

>Optimizing
>Thousand Sons
Pick 1

I demand source for that.

Guard, because they get the +1A +1ld of everyone else's upgraded sergeants, but for free.

Are Kroot allowed to have Tau bionic implants? I know they prefer sticking to a primitive lifestyle most of the time.

Kill Team is awesome and is now the BEST way to get into the hobby.

Probably the new DW Blackshield, dude gets 4 attacks when fighting monsters, vehicles, or in a challenge, and can have all kinds of wargear.

>I would like to say this must take one whole unit thing sucks

Yeah they should have halfed the min unit sizes, rounding up

You should be allowed to take like one Ogryn, or 3 hounds, etc.

This is a good house-rule

Tau crisis shas'vre can have AP2 shooting, or melta shooting, or whatever, so could do a lot of damage over the game. Arguably you're not getting much specifically for him being the sergeant, although a signature system can make both himself & the squad more deadly.

Honourable mention for ork nobz and dark eldar sergeants with agonisers, because they can end up providing a disproportionate amount of their squad's killing power.

No one in Kill Team can have a 2+ armor save so AP2 is not necessary.

Black Shield is better if you use him as a combat specialist, not as a leader.

He's right.

yes mixed units would be sweet however it would be harder to write the rules for such a system.

Who said anything about Kill Team?

>Exarch killed 2 wraiths, 4 warriors, 2 scythguards and a wound on an overlord

Nigga this is 40k not kill team

Any word about age of the emp yet? I want to invest in this hobby, but the uncertainty surrounding everything is killing that desire.

If it happens the models you'll be able to use will be unchanged so just pirate the rules and get the models.

lunk pls

No, the only word out there is from haters that want to see the hobby burn. 40k is still going strong, and thankfully looks to be on the up and up.

Some condensing or streamlining of the rules wouldn't be a bad thing. Right now the game is a bit of a cluster fuck. The psychic phase in particular is so convoluted.

streamlined and available-for-free rules are good
fucked up fluff is bad

You know the re-hired ward for fluff writing, right?
Let's see if he can do worse than what happened to fantasy.

I'm really not a fan of the psychic phase it's boring if you don't have psykers and just makes the game take a lot longer

its bad. the fag cannon is OP but everything else in the book is shit
