Spooky sounds/music thread

Hi Veeky Forums, I've got a few horror games coming up and I want to get the right kind of atmosphere going. Specifically I'm looking for creepy radio broadcasts (like Squeaky Wheel or the sound of Jupiter) or inhuman screams (something like Vicar Amelia, but open license preferred). Share your scary/creepy sound files.

I'll start us off with youtube.com/watch?v=pYzWmKlZtrU

I've run a post-apocalyptic horror campaign before, and I created a playlist of over 300 tracks trying to get this very atmosphere. Enjoy.

(First track is not spooky in any way, more of a 'theme song' to get people in the right mindset for wandering the wastes.)

No one knows why Uranus sounds so spooky. You should probably get that checked out.

All the Vaoyager recordings are pretty great atmospherics actually, "symphony of the planets" or what they're called. I put them on for some chillout or reading sometimes.

Dunno if I have any consistent recommenations? Everybody and their granny's already into Lustmord, so...

I usually have success using this to creep people out. Also some well timed baby crying noises or some of these

Lustmord?

Okay maybe you guys can help me find a song.
I can't remember who it's by or the title, but the title is one word long. It's a droney sorta heavily distorted song I found on a cyberpunk music thread. The video is of a guy kicking that one robot built to balance really well, but the video is very distorted and very red.

If this is ringing any bells, please do tell. It's bugging me that this song is stuck in my head but I can't listen to it.

Two of the creepiest stock sounds: Bullroarer and waterphone.

DARK AMBIENT
Dark ambient is made in 4 ways
A)Soundtrack to a horror movie
B)The field recording of a horror movie
C)A + B
D)Just a wierd song
And if you want to be specific:
E)A with minimalistic B
F)B With minimalistic A

Also artists usually try to fit on those themes

Average dark ambient
Themes:All kinds of themes
Artist: Lustmord
Type: A, D, C and E

Drone Ambient
Themes: Mistery, "something is going to happen but I dont know why/what"
Artists: Oophoi
Types:A and D
Other: Has drone music influences.

Black Ambient
Theme: Black metal themes
Types: D
Other: Has black metal influences

Death Ambient
Themes: Monsters, apocalipse
Types:B and F
Other: Here, the sounds of the stuff happening is in your face.

Deep Ambient
Themes: Caves, top of amoutain, lost somewhere
Artist:Amon
Type: B and D
Other Very minimalistic, sometimes windy stuff

Ritual Ambient
Types: All
Theme:Ritual or meditative stuff
Artists: Endvra
Other: traditional Folk influences, sometimes new age influences,....

There is also military ambient and neoclassical ambient, but I am not putting them here, because most of the time those names are wrongly used to stuff that is not dark ambient, on the case of military ambient they use it for martial industrial and on the case of neoclassical ambient most of the time they use for neoclassical darkwave.

Some guys split into more stuff, but the other stuff they name its basically the same stuff posted here (most of them would fit in average dark ambient type)

I like your playlist mang, good shit for background music while drawing

OP here. Enjoying all the posts so far. Let me clarify what I'm looking for specifically:

1: one scenario I'm running this weekend has a bunch of college students working to stop a sentient rainstorm from replacing all life on earth with bizarre, unearthly creatures. The storm gives off a powerful radio signal (going to make oblique references to the Space Roar).

2: A Dungeon World game run in the vein of Beowulf or old folktales, where an evil witch has been woken from death and has sent her dark servants to hunt and slay men in the frozen northern woods. Unsettling animal sounds would work well here.

Forgot to mention, for the second scene dark atmospheric music would be great, the kind that helps establish walking through a dense, snow-laden forest on a moonless night while being hunted by wraiths. That session is actually being recorded for a podcast so non-copyrighted stuff would be even better.

What do you use the hotline miami tracks for?

I'm not a robot

Good old illbience artist that basically has become a standard of the genre. Has also done a lot of collabs, with Merzbow for example. Should probably interest the OP?

It was a while since I listened to this desu, but Metavoid and Zoetrope should be old classics?
