Place a civilization on the big middle island of the archipelago. These will be our Polynesians. Let them conquer these islands as the years go by. (As user add things let them spread over those small islands, by canoe. They don't have deep water research unlocked yet)

I like this idea, rolling for it.

North-northwest of the central landmass is a roughly rectangular island, wider to the East and the West, filled with dense conifer woodlands and grand, glacier-carved lakes. It is inhabited by forest-dwelling barbarians, whose primary settlement is hidden deep within, on an isthmus between two such lakes.

This in ocean. Is hugely deep pit for possibility of abomination from beyond space and time sleeping at the bottom.

Preferably between Dickland and first continent.

A long, curved island to the north that is in the shape of a perfect circle, but broken in parts. It is the rim of an ancient and massive impact crater, populated mostly by rare, colorful lobsters.

put a sea monster on the map to make it feel more map like.

invert the colours so the sea is now all land and the few tiny islands are the only sources of water.

Make a whirlpool in the ocean that has a giant, angry, sentient crystal at its center. This crystal hates being wet and FUCKING HATES boats, thus the whirlpool goes in search of vessels to destroy.

A vast forested continent beyond the archipelago that stretches off the map, fading into the darkness of terra incognita, with a major river delta at the easternmost point.
