40k needs Gunblades.

>BA to get grav?

Yes please.

>BA to get grav?
Yes. Let's give every marine sub-faction access to the same wargear. That'll make them all seem unique.

To that end they'll get a formation that lets them take it on jump pack marines that count as relentless or jet pack infantry of course :^)

Ahh perfect, more reasons to just quietly fold them into the core book, sounds good lads.

No. No it dont

An ignominious death that awaits us all battle brother. Someday all of us that are members of "aberrant" and "divergent" chapters will be pure vanilla scrabbling at a chance at our own individuality in the form of irregular and overpriced supplements containing a but a shadow of our former selves.

Truly, we all fall to chaos eventually, why struggle?

It is too late for me, for the crusade never ends. It only marches onward without sign of sweet release. No tears, only faith in the Emperor now.

Is it okay for a part of a flyer to hang off the board? Not the base, say the base is on the board but the tip of a wing is off, is that alright? Had a guy argue can't have any part of a model hanging off the table (A valkyrie in this case)

The base doesn't matter for fliers. The whole vehicle must be on the table. If it's impossible to keep it on the table, into ongoing reserves it goes.

I know, right? I can't wait to add grav to my Khornate marine army.

Kill Team lists!

>Hormagaunt Brood - 50

>Shrikes (2x Deathspitter, 1x Rending Claws) - 115

>Venomthrope - 45

Or

>Shrikes (2x Deathspitter, 1x Rending Claws + Flesh Hooks) - 119

>Hormagaunt Brood (14, 5x Adrenal Glands) - 80

My Crisis Suits could use a new weapon choice.

It would probably act like 30k grav since Tau tech isn't backwards and brutish.

I'll send you my entire Warhammer Fantasy Empire Army for some Ork stuff senpai; I hate AoS but I'm too much of a broke college student to buy another army.

Virtually nothing about Grav is backwards or brutish, for all the shit the low and middle tier AdMech do to fuck things up the higher ranks of the Magos have done a pretty decent job at keeping a few groups technologies streamlined and advanced.

>IG to get grav?

I would need to make some new veteran models but yes please.

Correct me of I'm wrong, but aren't upgrades like Flesh Hooks and Adrenal Glands purchased for the entire unit and not individually?

Shit, you're totally right.

How the fuck do weirboyz work? Cant find anywhere that says how many surges they use or anything

Since my 2nd list is incorrect, I suppose the first list will do!

Also, the points are incorrect on it anyway, since Shrikes with 1 lot of Rending Claws and 2 Deathspitters, the list would instead look like this:

>Hormagaunt Brood - 60

>Shrikes (2x Deathspitter, 1x Rending Claws) - 105

>Venomthrope - 45

Thoughts?

My question though, is basically is it more worth it to have a Venomthrope as a force multiplier, or is having upgraded units more valuable?

>Thoughts?
Your over the point limit by 10 points.

Meant to write 50 not 60 on the Hormagaunts.

Jesus, this is a train wreck so far.

>Want to assemble models
>also want to paint them well
>dont want assembly to get in the way of painting
>currently have no paint
>people actually want to play on Sunday
I'm torn so many ways

I wrestled with that same question for a bit myself, I ultimately went with another Shrike + upgrades and then termagants instead of hormagaunts.

3x Shrike w/Deathspitters and Scything Talons

1 Shrike w/Dual Scything Talons and then the Combat Specialist bonus that gives you rending.

12 Termagants

Partial assembly. Blue tack

Sword and bolter is significantly less gay than an actual gunblade.

Oh, that's a better solution to Rending claws...

I went for Hormagaunts mainly because being in single model units will negate the bad parts of Feed since they won't be able to damage themselves.

And that's a taste choice, I wanted something more shooty rather than stabby.

Surges? what? are you using the old random d6 power Werirdboy? with him you just pick a target and roll up a power

The modern Weirdboy is just like any other psyker, can be mastery level 2, and just rolls on the Ork powers, all of them are quite simple.

don't even bother rolling on demonology unless you feel the urge to suicide summon some Bloodletters. thought that can be fun

Does blue tack hold that well? Like, you're talking the shit you use to hang posters, right?

Taking your time and properly making your army is better than hastily assembling and playing. When I bought my orks I assembled and painted all of then over two days and I regret it because I've never had a truly proper pretty army.

Speaking of which, after you are familiar with the game, you've tested an army you want to play out in vassal etc. Should you still buy a core and then add on select units? Or is it fine to plan out a particular list and buy the stuff you need in a bulk?

I also need to get proper tools for painting, and make a proper workspace.

Your in luck!

>tfw they fold BA into the C:SM book but put it in their chapter tactics that they cant take grav just like BT cant take libbys
you know its true

I definitely want to take my time painting, but I also want to play the game. All of the sudden, there's a bunch of people who want to play on Sunday, though, and I want to as well. I just don't want to assemble and have it get in the way of painting.

Whats the best Bullgryn variant? Powermauls+shield or Grenade+slabshield?

There is barely anything in the latest blood angel codex. You could literally cut it down to 10 pages.

Chain sabres motherfucker. You even got a gun on your face just in case the ones on your swords weren't enough.

...

libby dreads, sanguinary priest, death company, nipple guard, DC dreads, furioso dreads, baal preds, like 12 gay ass characters, their own physic powers, relics.

if they do get rolled into the C:SM book they would probably lose:
libby dreads (ether squatted or might become universal to all SM)
sanguinary priest (ether squatted or might become a universal apothecary)
DC dreads
furioso dreads
probably all of the characters except dante, mephiston, maybe tycho for some unknown reason. maybe keep seth if they are lucky.
lose all of the psychic powers
keep relics

basically their whole army would be gutted

It depends on how you want to use them. Most people use the Slabshield variant for cover related stuff. I've yet to use the power mauls but thats mostly because I lack ogryns.

>universal Libby Dreads

Oh God no

All they have to do is add 10 pages to the current C:SM. Why would they need to remove anything? Contrary to GW's current method there was a time called third edition when 4 unit entries fit on a single page.

Any update on the new Deathwatch Codex? :)

nah theyd just keep death company and like 3 or 4 characters.

nippleguard would be squatted, everything else would be squatted or made universal.

theyd probably tag on some extra fuck you for failing as a codex tax too, just like they did with BT. something like 'no grav allowed but you can still take a heavy flamer on ur tac squad :^)'

Sell one book for 60?
Sell seven books for 60?

They aren't going for Streamline or compressed content. They are going for money.

>Furious Charge + Blood Engines is BA Tactics
>Honor Guard with Blood Angel Tactics can be upgraded to Sanguine Guard (Gaining Jump Pack, Relentless, and replacing weapons with Master Crafted Power Weapon + Bolter)
>Baal Predator is available to all SM
>Hand Flamers, Heavy Flamers, and Inferno Pistols become available to all.
>Add Death Company as BA Only
>Add Blood Priest as BA Only
>Add Librarian Dreadnoughts for all
>BA Dreadnoughts can be upgraded to Furious / Death Company
>All Dreadnoughts get Frag Cannons

Codex Compliant complete.

Why exactly should Jump Pack Honor Guard be a BA specific thing? Raven Guard actually have Jump Packs are part of their Chapter Tactics.

Apothecaries should just become a universal option for astartes.

thing is, GW will only give you 1/3rd of those things. since even the smurf poster boys dont get that much unique shit.

you dont want to get rolled into C:SM, it would be like the BT. youd keep 1 token special unit and a few characters.

Guys who already have a book. Who will win, traitors or blood angels?

Times are changing, chaos got a bone.

i only know 1 thing for certain. no name chaplain diemore is going to get rekt by kharn

Half a bone. Traitor's Hate still suffers from half the formations requiring dogshit units.

And Blood Angels are getting more formations than us, apparently. And relics/warlord traits.

...

They would get to keep death company stuff and thats it. Librarian Dread becomes standard for vanilla as tribute to the spiritual liege.

All marines will end up in one codex in an edition or two with the exception of Grey Knights. Once there they might get a supplement with a few formations and one or two more of their old units so they have to buy extra books just to play a poor simulacrum of their old army while not detracting from the smurfs.

>Why exactly should Jump Pack Honor Guard be a BA specific thing? Raven Guard actually have Jump Packs are part of their Chapter Tactics.

Because Sanguine Guards are basically just Jump Pack Honor Guard.

Personally Honor Guards should have all the same options that Command Squads have (imo)

>Apothecaries should just become a universal option for astartes.

Again, because Blood Angels have their Apothecaries as HQ choice.

And again, imo Librarians, Techmarines, Apothecaries, and Chaplains should be like IG Priests, Techpriests, Psykers

(As if you take a Captain you can take 1-3 Support staff slotless.)

Yeah, Traitors Hate definitely shows that GW is drastically altering their faction favoritism and are committed to giving everyone fun, interesting, and well-designed rules.

R8 muh Deldar kill team.

Shadow Shrike hunter pack

8 Scourges all together, 128 points.
-Solarite with Venom Blade and Splinter pistol, 15 points. The leader of the pack.
-1 scourge has a Blaster, and is the Guerrilla Specialist with Infiltrate, 15 points.
-1 scourge has a Dark Lance and is the Weapon Specialist with Eagle-Eye (54 '' fucking range) 20 points
-1 scourge has a Splinter Cannon, and is the Indomitable specialist, with Relentless.

Total, 193 points.

The idea is to sit the Dark Lance fucker in a ruin, or some other position where he can see the whole table, and let him snipe fuckers, while the Blaster dude infiltrates near the enemy, and hopefully eliminates or at least damages something important with the blaster, or at the very least, becomes something that the enemy has to kill to feel secure, giving the rest of my birds of prey an opportunity to advance closer unmolested.
The Splinter cannon dude will give salvo fire on the move due to him having relentless, while the regular dudes simply swoop in for the kill with the Solarite, whose venom blade is a threat to pretty much everyone due to it wounding pretty much everything on 2+.

Scourges being jump infantry, I should also have very decent mobility on everyone besides the Dark Lance dude, who can't really move without losing his ability to shoot on the shooting phase.
What do you guys think?

Tempestus Scions need more weapon options.

They should at least have all the same options that a squad of IG has.

>All marines will end up in one codex in an edition or two with the exception of Grey Knights.
i doubt it because they just released a deathwatch codex.

if they were going to roll everything together they wouldve just made them a formation or some shit

>All my suggestions were to maintain the existing kits
>If GW wants to squat kits, makes list easier.

Also my Blood Angle fluff-fo is weak, what's a Furiouso Dreadnought? A Dreadnought suffering from the Red Thirst?

kek

Agreed

Yes, but why should both of those things be BA specific at all? BA aren't the only chapter that likes jump packs a lot, and the relative paucity of apothecaries in the codex is just bizarre.

ayyy

>Because Sanguine Guards are basically just Jump Pack Honor Guard.
theyd just keep them as a BA jump pack honor guard kit. they wouldnt have special rules on the table top

the only really dramatically different unit BA have is death company. except for the libby dread and other 1 off shit.

Barring a heavy weapon they already do you git. Plus AP3 out the ass.

>tfw Daenor IDs Khárn with his melta

>why don't my elite, special-forces units designed for rapid deployment carry crew-served heavy weapons that need to be stationary to use

>IDing a character that has Eternal Warrior

>willingly going within 6 feet of kharn

>implying that 10,000 year old veterans of the Horus Heresy and the de facto mortal champions of the gods of chaos deserve to have Eternal Warrior
eeeeyyyyyyyyyy

Again. Kits. Most likely it was when GW was giving all the separate codex stuff special snowflake stuff to make them different.

Again. I'm all for squatting the Honor Guard squad, and giving the Command Squad the option for Artificier Armour

>kharn
>having eternal warrior
only loyalists get tons of EW, remember?

that guy whos been alive for 10,000 years doesnt have eternal warrior, that would be stupid.

>Kárn
>EW

They should get their own Sentinel variant.

>spec op dudes
>stompy walker

Pick one

>random no name chapter master gets EW
>none of the chaos gods champions are allowed such an honor

REEEEEEEEEEEEE

Traitors this time. It's part one of a longer thing and if the spearhead attack fails, it's not going to go anywhere.

Nobody?
I have never played Kill Team, so I got no clue if my setup is good or not.

Hey abbadon has it

Forgeworld makes one

Tempestus Armoured Sentinel
>Move Through Cover, Deep Strike
>Hotshot Multilaser
>18" S6 AP3 Heavy 3

Tempestus Armoured Powerlifter
>Move Through Cover, Deep Strike, 3A
>Power Forklifter
>S - User AP2, Scoop
Scoop - each unsaved wound vs MC / GC is doubled. Each glance / pen vs vehicles is doubled.

Slabshields and grenadier gauntlets with your compulsory priest.
Ogryn will still be shit no matter what tho.

Which loyalists have it?

Shit user, if you're serious, I'd take you up on that offer

Give a guy the Shield Eternal and BAM you have it.

it gets worse

any shitdick character can take those EW relics
>random shit captain gets EW
>random faggot level 1 libby gets EW
>some chaplain gets EW

but no, why would kharn get EW? that might make something csm have good, and GW cant have that.

>inb4 you say something dumb about Elysians even though they operate exactly like Tempetus Scions

He's referring to Shield Eternal / Gorgon's Chain

>

literally any of their generic characters

Clearly a MC, not a walker

>Think of a cool idea for a 40k book
>Focusses on a Vet from the Emperor's Children
>Realise that Slaanesh is going to be squatted
>Realised that BL is a cartel of select few authors and their friends

To be fair, outside of papa smurf and lysander, none of the C:SM characters have EW.
And hell, CSM charecters can get EW for free

>It is only tacti-cool if you can use them while moving
They are missing sniper rifles, and shotguns (although that is a veteran thing I guess).
A little crappy, but for the same reason you may want a heavy weapon - sometimes it is just nice to have the option.
Even if 2 volley guns is most likely going to be better every time.

I'm not going to lie, I was just looking at the Elysian Drop Troop range, and I felt they were wasted on regular guardsmen. I would even use the damn mortar squads because they look so good.
