Cups or Towers?

Which do you like more, tg?

I think towers give a comfier feeling and add to suspense, but cups are more gamey.

If I'm at some tournament, I want to use cups.

Towers for me. I like the sound better.

Cups definitely travel better, though.

I honestly Have not used either, though I'd like to.

>Travel better
Most dice towers are self packaging nowadays, I think. With enough space that you may store a deck of cards, or keep the dice enclosed during transit.

What the fuck is this nerd shit? Just roll the dice on a table like a normal person you autists.

I like cups better as a DM, because you can do this (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chō-han) with them. Tough to get more suspenseful than that. As a player I prefer the tactile feel of rolling them by hand.

Towers. I have like two and another is coming in the mail. I also own a dice cup though, for fun.

Because gaming swag is neat.

>mfw a swineherd has the audacity to chuck my ivories

That is true... I should consider that.

But it will be larger than the cup, especially with storage. Though to be honest I've been using electronic dice more and more.

>that spoiler
what the fuck kind of philistine are you

Well it's a trade off regardless. The novelty of a tower generally makes the game more fun for everyone.

It's obviously just a non-starter in situations where you have to roll large quantities of dice at once.

Anyone know if there's a specific name for these bell shaped dice cups? I guess it's designed to allow you to rest the handle between your knuckles as you shake it.

Where do you get a nice tower like that?

There's mountains of hobby carpenter stores you can get them from.

Kickstarter/indiegogo constantly has new limited run towers/dice from small shops posted.

They make 200 or so, put up a kickstarter, sell what they can and then post the remainder on their websites.

Just search dice tower. I think there's a manufacturer named wymwood that makes all kinds of novelty fantasy products.

I reached an age and level of technology that I stopped caring about the art of it all.

>stopped caring about the art of it all
Then why play at all?

>wymwood
Wyrmwood Gaming. I, the Wyrmwood Fag, appear to demonstrate their work! See pic for a few of my pieces.

>picture is upside down
Never buying anything from you now. Good job fucking up.

I don't actually work for them. I just like their stuff. Also, that pic will not post normally, I'm not sure why. It's fine on my desktop but it hates Veeky Forums.

Because I like fun

Why do people on this website have such fucking difficulty checking the orientation of pictures they take before uploading them?

>player sits down
>pulls out disc
>with a flick of his wrist cheeto dust glistens through air and a cup pops from the disc
Let's roll some dice, guys.

Well I mean, if you want to play backgammon, you can. But generally some imagination is implied when you're playing most tabletop games.

If you're using electronic dice, it just seems lazy. I could understand it in a casino setting, but around a table smelling faintly of deodorant and musk? Dunno.

Spotted the Australian.

I don't buy products from Australia. With my luck, the world's most poisonous spiders will be hiding in the packaging.

You can do one final roll before opening the package to see if there's a spider inside, and if so, how big it is.

Towers for swag

Cups for practicality and ease
