in the name of KA, Alacran and BreadAnon Amen,
let us make these threads the best they can be, and improve 1D whilst we're at it, no more 'Run golg in spartan with Butchers' ebin memes, but cold hard facts

Amen

DEUS SANGUINIUS!

I feel like ScanAnon should have been in there instead of me.
Brother?!

The map is possibly from the modern imperium - in which case it makes sense they locked off the entirety of the istvaan area
Every book entry says ultima as do the novels and segmenta can overlap so that an area further along is part of another segmenta

No.
>Alternative answer:
Someone posted an excerpt of "The Last Son of Dorn" where Koorland, Koolaid or whatever his correct name is, who you may remember was the last survivor of the original Imperial Fist chapter, which was obliterated in the first book without survivors (it's geneseed was lost, but it's not like the AdMech doesn't have a vault full of Dornjizz), after killing the Beast it turns out that wasn't THE Beast, which promply walks over there, kills him and squishes the geneseed on his neck with his finger, rendering unusable. Which is like the worst thing you could do to a space marine. It's kinda like castrating and decapitating a corpse. The ultimate desecration.
I did not save that excerpt.

Do your dudes have a battlecry/motto?

99th "Gravediggers" Iron Warrior Grand Company
>We dig our graves here and bury you in it!.

Blood Angel red is best red

Not his finger he squashed him with his foot

You start praising the Scan user right now, mister!
...or maybe not, that's what the Word Bearers did and look at what happened. But you could venerate him as a not-divine representation of the best of us. I think that'd be acceptable.

Scanon is Azrael, he does wrong but the ends justify the means as he has brought so much happiness to us

Also it's always been dumb since marines are likely to get chest injuries that destroy the geneseed so in reality no chapter would survive more than a millennia

Oh, right. How big are those orks, again? The Beast, his Klan masters and his regular boys? Isn't the War of the Beast the origin of the Bad Moonz, Blood Axes and such?
>DEUS SANGUINIUS!
You write those words and I raise you these ones.

You see, Khorne, the space marine body grows two geneseeds. One on the chest, which can be harvested while the marine still lives, and one on the neck, which the apothecary promptly extracts on the battlefield once the marine has expired.
When you claim their skulls, you're probably also destroying the geneseed, chopped up as the chainsaw destroys the neck.

see
and i just realized i fucked up the formatting, it should be Alacran, KA, and BreadAnon. As it's father, son, holy spirit, not son, father holy spirit

tfw unironically catholic so should know all this stuff of by heart

Marines regularly get plasma flamered gaussed etc

Any more leaked info on the Burning of Prospero? I need to know if it has breacher options, for reasons.

Will Space Wolves get Helfrost weapons?

nice quads, but what does the codex say about their invention.
As we're pretty sure blood angels will get overcharged engines like in 30k

Seeing as they pull that stunt in Vengeful Spirit; most likely

I think they're relics but maybe Leman decided to make them during the Scouring instead of the Crusade?

Corpses destroyed beyond recovery of their geneseed are tragedies to the chapter, and they demand retribution. Never said it didn't happen.
T4 3+ save posthumans suffer too.

wow we were wrong all along, clearly russ is more of an articer than all the others combined, building new tech every day, and leaving weapons behind for his wulfen

I'm just spitballing here. Considering that there were no Hellfrost weapons used on Magnus and his dust bunnies maybe they weren't 30k relics? I don't know anymore.

No info. Could be a while.

My guess is no, we'll have to wait for the third box, which will be Phall. I'm hoping for assault marines in this one (they'd make more sense for this kind of battle than breachers).

Posted this last thread with no reply, any work thoughts on what I could do alternatively for this list?

your army is great, do you have an imgur album somewhere of it

>I'm hoping for assault marines in this one

I dont think this box will have more units than B@C. We got Bolter dudes, Terminators and Contemptor in B@C and we're getting bolter dudes, Terminators and Custodes in BoP.

Go for the throat, full XVI style, waves of pods and deep strikers supported by flyers to land in close quarters and make maximum use of the Legions abilites. Disrupt the enemy line and slaughter as I can.

Nope, but I do have a ragtag as fuck Tumblr.

why not a landraider incase he spreads his troops thin
also is it just the primaris you'll have on the board on turn 1

Found ya. Nice minis.

Primaris lightnings, as flyers are in reserve. Orbital strike means everything is in reserve, my first turn pods 3 squads in
careful placement is important there as they gotta weather the storm. But after that I get reliable reserves for everything else, rerolling reserve rolls as one.

i salute your beard good sir, and I plan to make a proper heresy blog when my calth box arrives, chronicling my iron warriors and their man earthshakers

>shows how cool the space wolves really are

>hurr durr we're not actually stupid barbarians we just think and act like stupid barbarians all the time and if you think that we're stupid barbarians just because we are stupid barbarians then you just got tricked *wet leopard growl* my name is NOT Bear XD

stop the b8 m8, we're a good thread now

Strange to see a Maloghurst list without Reavers, which I might consider - at some point a drop'n'shoot won't work well, you'll get charged, and then you can bail that squad out with a drop pod full of Reavers. Mal doesn't help out with reserve rolls, does he? If not, that could bite you.

I'm a little nervous about the lack of stand-off (long range) firepower but you may get away without it.

>We're a good thread now
Battle report time, because /HHG/ needs contributing towards.
>2000 pts of IF vs WB
>Serrated sun with two Gal Vorbak squad seeker squad, two termie squads and Erebus+command squad all in drop pods (aside from termies which footslogged)
>My list was BaC HQs and termie squad, two tacticool sqauds, a plasma support squad, missile launcher support, a basilisk, a land speeder with MM, and a vet squad with everything all covering behind an aegis and a bastion.
>My turn one
>Shoot basilisk at one termie squad
>No casualties
>Shoot MM land speeder at termie squad
>No casuaties
Will continue.

SoH in general reroll ones in on reserve rolls. Means they get a 50/50 reroll on failed reserves. DESU I am really tempted to drop in the regular tacticals (kitted as despoilers) and Ikthion. first almost as a throw away. Main plan is to make stuff as close as ranged as possible. Point blank firefights so all my Assault, Rapid Fire and Pistol weapons gain +1 BS, Vets are if anything a better option than reavers, with bolters as standard, are cheaper points wise, and with sniper get rends everywhere (rending flamers are gunna be fun) Though they don't get access to chainaxes which are sweet, they still have 2 attacks base, pistols, ccws and bolters for 12 points a model. Termies port in off of nuncio voxes and second wave pods come in where needed. Enemy clusters of heavy armour and heavy infantry get targetted by the strike fighters as needed with Sunfuries or krakens as needed.

>basilisks

Brother, rise up against the Dons! Tonight is the night of 600,000 assault cannons!

>WB turn one
>Drop pod with seekers, librarian I forgot about, and chaplain I forgot about precision deepstrikes next to my basilisk literally touching my board edge
>Erebus and friends also precision deepstrikes right in between my aegis and bastion
>Melta toting seekers kill basilisk
>Erebus and friends kill one tactical
>Librarian summons bloodletters right behind vet squad in between bastion and basilisk and right in front of my table edge
>Land speeder is killed by termie fire

Turn 2
>Termie squad deepstrikes and mishaps
>My vet squad turns around and murders bloodletters at the cost of four men
>Tactical squad 1 runs around basilisk wreck and FotL into seekers, along with heavy weapon squad
>Plasmas charge out of bastion and gun down command squad along with tactical squad 2
>Tactical squad 2 charges down lone erebus
>Tied combat

>WB turn 2
>One Gal Vorbak fail to come in
>Other deepstrikes exactly where the bloodletters where a turn earlier
>One inch scatter in a direction and it would have mishapped
>Fucking bird wearers
>Librarian casts summoning
>Fail, perils
>Warpsurge
>Warpsurge Libby and 2xsword chaplain charges tactical squad 1 alone
>They win, Tactical squad 1 runs of the board
>Termies walk forward, accomplish nothing
>At this point all the drop pods launch terror campaign against my heavy support that would last all game
>Tactical squad 2 vs Erebus
>Tied combat

...

I read that as "tired combat".

I don't think GW knows either. FW might just decide that 30k SW has an earlier version of the Helfrost weapons.

Sounds like Istvann V all over again

>pic related

>>Tactical squad 1 runs around basilisk wreck and FotL into seekers, along with heavy weapon squad
You moved the tacticals and still fired FotL? Something is amiss.

Wonder if the difference with 30k and 40k frosties will be the same as 30k and 40k grav guns. Maybe it'll be like pinning or something, due to freezing.

Turn 3
>Termie squad fails to come in or something, it's a universal rule that my termies never come in till turn 4
>Plasmas gun down 1/2 a Termie squad
>Vets charge into Gal Vorbak supported by missile launchers
>Get wrecked, cause a number I don't remember of casualties
>Tactical squad sergeant actually close enough to powerfist erebus in his smug, heretical face

>WB turn 3
>Last gal vorbak squad continues to fail to arrive
>Other Gal Vorbaks finishing off my vets
>Termies walk forward, accomplish nothing
>Drop pods continue to bolter down my missile dudes
>Librarian and chaplain charge into vet vs gal vorbaks
>Don't actually do anything other than allow my chaplain to kill the libby before getting vorbaked

Turn 4
>Termie squad finally comes in and of course scatters
>Shoot some termies
>Plasmas finish off the other squad
>Tacticals run to put themselves between chaplain+vorbaks and my plasma dudes
>Missiles plink wounds off gal vorbak

That would be a cooler rule than what Helfrost currently have in 40k.

Well pinning doesnt work in assault, personally I'd do it like this

>Any character may pay Xpts to upgrade a CCW into a frost weapon, it gains the following special rule
>If an enemy unit is hit with a frost weapon then its Initiative value goes down by 1 for every hit, this applies in the next Initiative step.

Or -1 to their fall back distance.

>a cooler rule

Yeah, it's pretty chill.

Oh shit, yeah
>WB turn 4
>Gal Vorbak squad 2 finally deepstrikes
>Gal Vorbak squad 1 charges tacticals, predictably massacre them, consolidate into muh bastion
>Termie squad charges over a cliff into my termies
>It's by far the shittiest charge I have ever witnessed and I played nids against tau once
>Two die to combi-bolter overwatch
>One dies to failing to failing the dangerous terrain test for going over the cliff

>Turn 5
>Termies move towards Gal Vorbak squad 2, which is simultaneously shot down by plasmas
>Heavy support do nothing, but theres only three left because those drop pods where fucking angry
>GV2 gets wiped on WB turn by glorious termies in CQC

>WB turn
>Gal Vorbak 1 murderizes heavy support and takes the bastion, then jumps down a floor
>Gal Vorbak 2 gets killed as mentioned

You don't know how true that is.

I'm wondering if any of us has ever actually played Strike Forces?

So you can now shoot at a Dreadnought that is still comfy in his pod. If he does get shot at, what facing is it considered to be hit on? It's not on the table in the same way as anything else in a transport so you can't just look at it. This came up for me recently, we ended up just going with side armor as a compromise. The book doesn't say either way.

Turn 6
>Preator attempt two kill even one of the drop pods with a combi melta
>Nope
>Plasmas?
>Nope

>WB turn
>Gal Vorbak come out
>Drop pods kill plasmas
>Those fucking drop pods man

My turn 6 to my turn 8
>Termies charge into Gal Vorbak
>Me and opponent do it like for separate duels
>Preator vs Dark Martyr
>Termie vs GV
>Sergent vs Chaplain
>Termie vs GV
>Praetor, sargent and both GV win the duels
>Sargent and both Gal Vorbaks are subsequently killed and my Preator is left on one wound

WB turn 8
All that's left on the table is 4 drop pods and my one wound preator
>4 drop pods
>7 S4 AP5 twin linked shots
>7 S4 AP 5 hits
>7 AP5 wounds
>I roll my 2+ saves
>2
>3
>4
>"Hey look they're going up one by one"
>4
>5
>6
Then like a fool I tempted the dice gods
>"I hope my dice don't realise they can cycle down to a one"
>1
>THOSE
>FUCKING
>DROP PODS
And that's why Khorne made 4 daemon princes out of drop pod machine spirits.

>>Termie squad charges over a cliff into my termies
>>It's by far the shittiest charge I have ever witnessed and I played nids against tau once
>>Two die to combi-bolter overwatch
>>One dies to failing to failing the dangerous terrain test for going over the cliff

So how triggering would it be to do a loyalist world eaters group with a Māori theme? How far could I go aesthetic wise? Did world eaters even get oceanic guys?

You want Raven Guard for that. They spawned the Carcharadons.

I don't see a problem; everyone likes the World Eaters, and Rampagers are a good canvas for facial tattoos.

You want Black Shields for that. Carcharodons are the Exiled Terrans Corvus though to be too brutal.

>Did world eaters even get oceanic guys?

WE got everyone, go for it if you want, I dont see why RG would have a monopoly on Maoris considering at least 3 other legions could've recruited from the same place/tribe/group.

Yeah but raven guard don't really fit Maori .

Looks Maori to me.

And if not, you really want Black Shields and Carcharodons then. As a bonus, it'll easily double as a 40k army if you fill it with glorious Shar(M)kV.

Are you kidding? Sneaky stabbers creeping up on their foes and then cutting them to bits perfectly fits the pre-European Māori method of tribal warfare.

You guys play any games recently?

Sorry about the unpainted models, im working on it

>starting Blackshields army
>mfw everyone is taking chainaxes

Every legion got everyone. There is a way to fit pretty much any niche into any legion.

>But muh recruitment sites!
Fuck Terrans. With very VERY few exceptions, every legion picked up more than a handful of companies of marines from places other than their primarch's homeworld. Either for reinforcements, reserves, or specialists, additional marines were picked up from conquered worlds, protectorate worlds, legion resupply worlds, void-colonies, and pretty much anyone else a legion could get their hands on. Don't ever feel limited by the primarch's homeworld, and Terra.

Because that's any different from any other army where you see nothing but the meta-approved army list. Welcome to /HHG/. Where if a list's not optimized, we'll bitch at you until it is.

>LEGIONNAIRE walks upon the resting CARCHARODON, greets him, and asks to be regaled by one of his many stories fighting XENOS and TRAITOR LEGIONNAIRES.

>LEGIONNAIRE: Brother Carcharodon, tell me a story of your exploits!
>CARCHARODON: Grrr....
>LEGIONNAIRE: Fascinating! Do go on.
>CARCHARODON: *Chainaxe noise*
>LEGIONNAIRE: Really?
>CARCHARODON: Grr!

>LEGIONNAIRE is rightfully set aback in awe of CARCHARODON's exploits. LEGIONNAIRE then sets out, and exits stage right.
>END ACT ONE, SCENE THREE.

Is that a Word Bearer hand?
>>starting Blackshields army
>>mfw everyone is taking chainaxes
With Blackshields people only think about two options:
"Chymeriae Chainaxes" and "the rest"

>sneaky stabbers
Maori were bloodthirsty man, they were very much WE levels of massacre and had a thing for eating people as well. On a side note, how should I convert weapons? I'm thinking of doing chain blades with shark teeth but what about other weapons? Pounamu clubs?

Honestly, you're better off with tribal markings. The weapon conversations make it look way too silly.

>Maori were bloodthirsty man
Think about the World Eater units that have Furious Charge.
Think about the Raven Guard units that have Rage.
I doub a legion has the monopolio on being X tribe or having X markings, especially when they ended recruiting from several planets. Can you guess all the cultures on a single planet? Now imagine the ones from half the galaxy.
> I'm thinking of doing chain blades with shark teeth but what about other weapons? Pounamu clubs?
Chainsharks.

Actually, I just figure it's a steal of an upgrade for whenever I fight Orks, Eldar, and Necrons (I don't see why roving Blackshields in the Halo Stars wouldn't come across some Necrons). Also, I am not that interested in Chymerae. I like the first two rules sets, Death Seekers and the other one that gives them rerolls but they don't get morale boosts from independent characters.

Kek

They were bloodthirsty, but they weren't Celts. They didn't run at you from across a field. Surprise and shock were always key facets of their warfare. Using the bush to move in as close as possible, and then with a scream and a roar hitting their foes hard and fast before they could react.

You might want to read ' Bush fighting : illustrated by remarkable actions and incidents of the Māori War in New Zealand' by James Edward Alexander. He fought in the New Zealand Wars and knew their ambush skills well.

My man with the exlusive Praetor model. Did you enjoy painting him? I haven't gotten to mine yet.

Not who you're talking to, but mine was a lot of fun to paint. It's a really cool model. Even if mine was Chinese.

>Carcharadons
People should stop pretending and call them by their real name : the Space Sharks !

>(I don't see why roving Blackshields in the Halo Stars wouldn't come across some Necrons)
Because Necrons hadn't woken up yet *triggered*

Thanks for the input guys. Am I allowed to mix legions for black shield or is that like mixing armour marks? I think a cool idea would be a bunch of Māori parceled off to different legions who broke off during the heresy would be cool.

Mixing legions is Shattered Legions rules. Black Shields usually used their own color schemes to differentiate thenselves from the legions and other Balckshield Warbands at the time.

Seriously mate, you sound like you want Carcharodons but haven't made up your mind.

You're right, but if a band of Blackshields makes its base on a farflung planet, it's possible, not likely, but possible, they could stir the Necrons.

Does FW still sell stuff for the Ironclad? I know they sell the Ironclad and the Eaglehammer of Doom! But I want to know if there's other specific stuff for him or no?

Also, are Boxnaughts like him any good in 30k?

Carcharodons are pretty much Blackshields, right?

The Salamanders boxnaught, Cassian Dracos, is pretty slick.

>People should stop pretending and call them by their real name : the Space Sharks !
Their Chapter badge screams "Raawrs, I'm a shark!"

Don't really like space sharks paintjobs, I want one more close to the red/black/white or classics brown Māori paints.
