The simplest method: create an option on Veeky Forums that displays /qst/'s threads in the archive, catalog, and front page. Those in favor of quests on Veeky Forums can enable it, while those who disapprove can disable it.

Also, if /qst/ isn't already a red board, make it one. Maybe people will complain less if they can have fetish quests.

Veeky Forums has the issue where a lot of threads should be pruned, and all posters banned unless they could actually talk about their games.

But the CYOA guys generally keep themselves to one thread.

That would mean room for only one extra pointless thread.

I think quests should be allowed on /v/ (because they are games played on computers), and also on whichever board uses their source material (e.g. anime quests on /a/, as well as /v/).

Compared to the rest of /v/, quests are quality content, and there will be plenty of new players.

Not really - not in the way they are now. Rubyquest came fairly early on in Veeky Forums's history but it took a few years for Quests to really catch on. Originally you had Ruby and maybe one or two other imitators, most of which died off without finding a great audience. It's only over the last few years that Quests have exploded across the board.

Generals became a necessity because of Quests. With Quests taking up so much room on the front page, threads where someone needed a quick answer to something were swiftly bumped off and forgotten about. People needed to clump up into Generals in order to get noticed.

With Quests on their own board, I wouldn't object to banning General threads now.

90% of those threads are Hasbro "sponsored" generals.
