FUCK 9 Legion Jetbikes. Because I have a need for Ravenwing, and hate money.

Pretty much I always have the page open either on the pc or phone, but I dislike phoneposting Also, it turns out the IM can bring good artillery and cheap, at 75pts per model, at the cost of being immobile. So position them well.

Caliban based marines got first dibs on the cool gear.
Got a Bactical squad on delivery, x10 mk4 Dangels shoulder pads and x9 combi-plasmas. Also some of the bullet belts from the Sternguard squad.
I have these threads constantly open on my phone, I think I may be addicted.
Daniel Gomez
I wonder if they'll give Astelan a statline when they get to the Caliban Schism. Wasn't he one of the dudes who was in charge of the Legion before they found "Papa Punch-Out" Jonson?
I got six recently myself(and I'm waiting on a Caestus to be delivered). I'm in a weird spot where I don't have enough tanks to run Ironwing and I also don't have enough bikes to really run Ravenwing.
Such is the price I pay for versatility.

>Are there any standardized guides/agreed upon methods for calculating the specific points value of any given rule or model? It's not "standard", but some pointers exist. I hope this guy doesn't get mad about linking to his user page, but he has this "Intrinsic Value" system going on. It's a nice pointer, if any. 1d4chan.org/wiki/User:Evilexecutive#Fast_Approximate_Intrinsic_Value.28FAXIV.29 There's also this pic made by...generator user? I don't quite remember. Yup, we are. Noah Williams
Asking again here.
Are there any standardized guides/agreed upon methods for calculating the specific points value of any given rule or model? I ask because I've been making rules for the various 'Veeky Forums Heresy' primarchs and legions. I'm balancing things as well as possible, but I'd like a more concrete system than the guesswork I'm doing now.
(Also just for the record, I realize how it's nearly impossible to calculate the actual points value of command benefits because of how much the size of games can vary, I'm more looking for a guide for calculating gear value, armor perk value, etc).
Christian Carter

Angron got shitted on, but was it really his fault? Got captured as a kid because some eldar fucks followed their stupid prophecies that almost always result in failure or end up becoming self-fullfilling. And by attacking kid Angron and weakening him enough to be captured by Nucerian enslavers (because not everybody is a perpetual or gets adopted by royalty) they not only got themselves killed, but also several sectors killed in the future, after Angron was ascended by Lorgar. Not to mention it was their own literal fuck ups that created the 4th Chaos god, the one Fulgrim fell to, which means the Eldar are also responsible for the deaths of Ferrus and Guilliman as well.
The entire Eldar race are the biggest cucks on the galaxy, even their gods are cucks. Isha is with Nurgle, who bitchslapped Slaanesh, Khaine is locked in chastity Avatars and Cegorach is a vouyerist who watches everything and jacks up locked in his black library. And that's Craftworld Eldar, Comorrites are even worse.
Angron is unfair tragedy, as he was doomed to die before the Great Crusade's end, and not even dying a warrior's death (he benchpresses titans) but of the nails. And a warrior's death was all he was looking for, yet the Emperor denied it to him on his very first day.
>You think he ever liked being angry? "You are all so sure I should be thanking Him to live as a slave, when I was so close to dying free". He lived as a slave, and after ascencion he was still a slave. Bet he didn't asked for it, asked for none of anything. He only wanted to die free.
James Johnson

Nicholas Butler
curze let an assassin kill him, which is actually suicide by definition
Joseph Taylor
Curze wanted to die and be vindicated in his beliefs, and as far as he was concerned, he did it.
Angron whined about being a slave non-stop, then chose ETERNAL SERVITUDE to chaos.

>and Guilliman as well What?
The Eldar old gods were well-balanced, until they forgot about them and went full chaotic (lowercase c). Those that escaped went too far the other way (extreme order, with the Path and all that). That’s where the Imperium is headed during the Great Crusade: extreme order, which comes with stagnation (scientific and cultural) and fragility in the face of new threats. Extreme emotion on one side, lack thereof on the other. The Eldar gods couldn’t thrive at either extreme… I don’t think Eldar or human civilization could, either.
Caleb Watson

I hope this is the last time I post this. Trying to finalize additions to my Death Guard. Could yall go over what I have and my planned stuff? See if I am missing something or if something seems non fitting to DG.

If you run all 9 quad mortars at once we’re all going to hate you instead of giving you advice.
I think you’re too strong on anti-infantry, with good capabilities against light/medium vehicles but insufficient means to take on enemy flyers and heavy or super-heavy tanks. The Land Raiders would give you more lascannons (and, along with the Rhinos, pintle-mounted multimeltas) but you don’t have much against heavier vehicles. Just the Fellblade and Lightning. You have even less anti-air (just the twin Kheres Contemptor right now). The Deredeo will help, but that’s still not much for the sheer number of points you have. A Xiphon would help despite not feeling DG-ish.
I’d consider a Cerberus instead of the Typhon, and a Venator instead of a plain Sicaran. It’s either that or Laser Destroyers or Conversion Beamers.
Ethan Walker
Assembled my Kharybdis recently. Shit's massive, barely fits on my shelf. I used to question why FW gave it a flying base, now I realize it's because it wouldn't fit anywhere on the battlefield otherwise.
Aaron Howard

Connor Sanchez
I figured running 9 would be fine in an apoc sized game. In normal games I was thinking 3-6.
I feel I am light on anti tank also. I have not played much but the few games I played the venator seemed to underperform. 2 shots as BS4 was not reliable in my games. Does it tend to do well and I just had a bad couple games? Would a second derdeo be good with the super lascannons? A lightning with the armor bane missiles might be good. The typhon is very fitting to DG so I do not want to give it up. Would a knight be able to fit the anti armor roll I need?
I do not know if laser destroyers fit DG but conversion beamers do not. They are too frail mechanically along with volkite. DG like vindicators so even is laser detroyers are not super DG them being on a vindi might fit.
What about another leviathan or 2? They can fit the melta lances. Not long range but can crack open boxes between lance and the armorbane fist.
Asher Hall
Well, to be honest, I was also censured for removing the cyclone missile launcher from my cataphractii plate and transferring it to a suit of cataphractii primus I won in a raffle. To make matters worse, I traded the cyclone missile launcher for a darkfire cannon and mounted that on my new cataphractii primus. Not only were the techmarines furious, but the quartermasters and logistics officers were too.
Aiden Perry
Venators are great against superheavies because they can stunlock them, but they're mediocre against a wave of normal-sized tanks. Definitely run a Fellblade because that's good antitank using traditional technology. Maybe that means you should run a Malcador squadron!
Samuel Perry
The venator is more of a vehicle-supression tool than something that wrecks their shit. For that things with high volume of hight str shots are better, like Shattershell mortarts
>you know a unit is OP when it is the answer to every tactical question
Henry King
Help me trim this list to 2500 and 2000. Also, it sadly just isn't fit for Ironfire. Not enough artillery, I don't think. Or maybe it is enough, I dunno.
Praetor and his bodyguards ride up in their land raiders alongside the Terminator elite, and hunt down the biggest, baddest thing the loyalists are bringing.
Any advice? Also, I wish FW had official Volkite sets for the Cataphractii.
William Carter
Do you really need all those vehicle upgrades?
Ayden Rodriguez
Quick if a black land raider still has its lights on which legion does it belong to? Note that it could belong to the SoH 1st company.
Landon Lee
Probably not.
But who knows?
Dark Angles, I guess?
Ian Harris
Should I replace my volkite caliver with a volkite culverin?
Ayden Jackson
What Primarchs does /hhg/ own, and do you own more than 1?
Nicholas Ward
The world may never known, user. Did you check the license plate?
Xavier Walker
It depends on if you want the squad to hold down a control point and score or not.
Kayden Young
All of them. And not a single one built or painted.
I don't trust my appalling painting skills.
Justin Peterson
A black Land Raider could be: Dark Angels', especially if it floats. Imperial Fists', especially if it carries crusading men. Iron Hands', especially if it repairs itself. Sons of Horus', especially if it carries high ranking gang members Salamander's Obsidian Forged, especially if it can't burn. Raven Guard's, especially if it wasn't there a moment ago.
It's best to check the legion badge on the plate. Would a Proteus assigned to a Destroyer squad be black?
Robert Ross
Aren't the Iron Warriors as technically proficient as the Iron Hands?
Jace Clark
You forgot Alpha Legion's, especially if you start seeing a lot of baldies
Xavier Young
I will prolly get a venator now. Malcadors are too fast for DG.
So with a venator added whta all else would I need for anti tank?
Hudson Cruz
Yes, Khorne. In fact, the Iron Warriors have a secret club dedicated to Beep Boops. Heck, Perturabo designed Cataphractii, iirc.
Jose Collins
Perturabo was; but the rest of the legion weren't (notable exceptions being Dantioch; Forrix and the Warsmith)
Henry Gutierrez
Anyone done the strike team campaign? Any fun?
Christopher Hernandez
Not yet, but I'm planning on doing so once I and my friend buy and paint the beginning of our armies.
Samuel Lopez
What are your armies?
Anthony Hughes
Also, checked
Levi Morgan
Iron Warriors and Raven Guard. I'm still trying to think up of a list currently, he's still learning the rules to the game.
Also, Power Axes versus Power Fists.
On legion Terminators, it's Free S5 Unwieldy versus 5 PPM S8 Unwieldy Specialist Weapon.
Adrian Jones
They might be easier since they're overscaled. Have you painted any sort of infantry models?
Henry Thompson
Nope. My 300 or so Marines remain unbuilt and unpainted.
Austin Howard
I'm gonna hold on to my hobby money for that Prospero Burns box.
Josiah Lopez
Wh-why?
Well, in close combat the Power Fists kill on a 2+ versus most things, versus the Power Axes 3-4+. Though, if you give the whole squad them, it costs 25 points. I'd say it's worth it to give them the Power Fists. Anyone else agree?
Jonathan Jones
Because I have no confidence in my painting skill. Also I plan to hammer out an army for all 18 Legions, and my hoarding is slowly building numbers up towards that goal.
Jack Howard
user, the only way to get better is to just do it. I believe in you, user!
Also, what's you legion?
Christian Young
All of them. I could never pick one, so I decided I'd build a 1500 point force for all 18, along with their unique units and Primarchs.
David Green
Well.
Uh...
Good for you?
Sebastian Moore
Pretty sure Ferrus Manus invented Cataphractii.
Noah Carter
I'd take power fists every time. Lets you take out vehicles and instant death all those 2 wound terminators and characters. Horus may be the best fighter but half a dozen terminators punching him in the kidneys with power fists bring him down pretty quick.
Alexander Wilson
Start by painting one tactical dude from each legion. Prime half of them white, half black (might actually be 10 black and 8 white, or 11/7). Paint them badly. Call them Rainbow Squad #1.
Repeat.
You'll know which legion you want to paint after that, and you'll have two jabronies for each of your future legions. SW, NL, and UM are likely to be the easier ones.
Anthony Smith
You have too much money, let me help you carry it...
