>We stood at the edge of destruction, and would have fallen... if not for the might of The God-Emperor and his Angels of Death. youtube.com/watch?v=ivXS-58a2EE
I'm about to make a deathwatch marine that is from the Flesh Tearers, what weapons should I give him that would fit the theme of the Flesh Tearers?
Gabriel Myers
DIY, we won't stop you user. Glad to see how yours turned out, I like the crystal.
He's looking down and asking his clip if it's heresy to take it.
Elijah Powell
Chainsword.

No Priming Heretic again, Lets call me 24601. someone last thread said the following > I have a feeling our definition of OK is different. Washing ehh unless it's FW I can understand. But priming, can't imagine that looking good user.
SO I HAVE DECIDED TO GO TAKE A PICTURE TO GIVE YOU AN IDEA. AND WILL POST IT LATER.
also i don't have a good primer to use so that's one of the reasons why. i do plan on getting Chaos black spray soon to do that sort of job.
Brayden Diaz
It really is.
Sebastian Howard
>I don't have a good primer to use so that's one of the reasons why Rustoleum Ultracover. It's... what, $3 at Walmart? Lasts forever.
Got my first mini and my most recent one side by side, just to compare it. The right-hand one looks even worse in person. I had yet to discover Nuln Oil or Agrax, let alone highlighting.
Matthew Powell
>upside down EVERY TIME I fix it, it points my camera in a different direction

Dude go to Walmart and buy the 99cents can of flat white or black.

Oversized pictures that aren't properly oriented should be grounds for a temp ban. It's lazy, plain and simple.

Figured I'd ask here. Looking to do a nice, dark turquoise for my Warmahordes Retribution army, and I want to go from P3 Coal Black to P3 Meredius Blue (for you GW folks, Sotek Green [but darker] to Temple Guard Blue [but more teal-ish]). However, it just feels like there should be a midtone in there, but I'm not sure what. I'm not adverse to mixing my own colors, but even trying to slam the two together in various combinations doesn't quite look right.
In sort, I'm looking for a decent medium to medium-dark turquoise color, preferably one I don't have to mix, idgaf about manufacturer. Suggestions?
>Glad to see how yours turned out, I like the crystal.
A couple of threads ago, the user who painted Auric Patricians Johnny (as seen in ) was soliciting advice. I'm waiting to see if he makes some improvements and reposts a more recent photo; then I intend to stick it in the collage for the OP picture.
>Where can I get a Johnny of my own?
Do you belong to Bartertown? The Oldhammer Forums? Any 40K/Citadel trading groups on Facebook? Ask around, and see if anyone has the old Brother Craig model they'd be willing to sell or trade.
He occasionally shows up on eBay. I use this search string (I'm partial to Blood Angels - flavour to suit your own tastes) and sometimes find him hiding amongst all the riff-raff:
The only one I know of right now is being sold by Noble Knight Games as part of a lot of ten models, but the price is pretty steep - especially considering I have every model in that lot already.
Landon Turner
Not mine thank Khorne, but this guy said he was DONE with this model "I know I could do better on the eyes but I'm happy with the 5 0clock shadow. I'm glad to be finished"
Wyatt Sanchez
Help me fluff my doods, WIP. Mostly just looking for ideas to add onto a skeleton I've got formed based on an army I'm starting up.
Traitor Imperial Guard of Tzeentch consisting of a Psykana detachment, 3 Knight Titans, and a whole lotta infantry. Here's what I've got so far:
Imperium is at war dealing with a big cultist uprising, and the occasional Daemon is encountered here and there. Psykana detachment is called in to deal with that, but they meet a few randy Daemons they just can't shake out of their heads, and their Commissar gets a real eye full, giving him funny feelings all over. Daemonic incursions start getting worse and a swift evacuation of valuable combatants is made from the surface before the planet gets the shit exterminatus'd out of it. They're in a hurry so they just cram what they can aboard. Knights and Psykers and a whole lot of extremely lucky Guardsmen who were in the right place at the right time all end up aboard the same vessel. Due to their rush to get out of the system, somebody forgets to laugh at the Machine Spirit's lame jokes while they're being wined and dined and the ship becomes lost in the Warp. At this point, the Psykers start practicing their fuckery among the crew and passengers, showing everyone how great Tzeentch is when paired with some fava beans and a nice Chianti while the Commissar visits the men and explains to them that these funny feelings they're having are perfectly natural.
Now, this crazy bunch of traitors... attacks people? I don't know, that's kind of where the creative flow stops. Anybody got ideas? One thing I kinda wanted to do is give them some kind of special trait. I can't remember the name of the Chapter, but there's a group of traitor Marines who turned to Tzeentch when they were cursed with the "gift" of being able to hear every lie spoken to them for what it was. I was thinking something like that. Some "gift" of Tzeentch that drives them bonkers.
Connor Bailey
They're all upright for me. Oversized? I'll give you that, my phone has a stupidly high resolution camera that doesn't capture any detail whatsoever. But every picture I've taken is upright until I upload them.
Nathan Roberts
If it helps any, here are some conversion ideas I've had for them:
-Important people (sergeants and the like) might get blue or green tints to their skin, along with the occasional mutation here and there -Lots and lots of eyeballs on stuff (I'm on a Bloodborne kick lately so the whole insight/madness/Great One thing is pretty prominent in my head) -Knights are getting feathers out their Knightly asses
Luis Flores
Then don't vomit them into the thread all willy nilly, upload them to your computer and edit them to make sure they're not retarded. Also phone cameras let you adjust the resolution in the settings.
Jaxon Edwards
Fun fact: The second one (inverted) *is* from my PC. It uploaded into Discord fine, saved fine, and fucked up when I uploaded it here.
Xavier Reyes
Hey /wip/, is it possible to get that glittery car-paint-esque Alpha Legion look without airbrushes?
Connor Adams
Suicide is the only answer for him.
Brandon Thomas
...
Oliver Ward
Blue ink on metal. It's not glittery but it's a reflective translucent blue that is also pretty cool.
Jacob White
Try mixing a very light metal like whatever mithril silver is now to the ink you want, and thin it. I did this by accident and came out with some Fabulous Ultra Marines.
Jonathan Torres
Bitchin, I gotta try that. Post pics of your smurfs, bro.
Hudson Lewis
Almost done with this guy, how am I doing? Any tips? The Blood Talons were a nightmare and can't say I am all that happy with them, considering using Blood for the Blood God over them.
Carson Long
>phone camera is weird It's because phones are in this arms race to have the most megapixels because "ours has more megapixels" is an easy way to win over idiots. One megapixel is roughly hdtv level resolution. You don't need 80. Stop falling for dumb bullshit and stop posting unedited pictures.
>and edit them >and edit them >and edit them

It was years ago. They have been stripped and recycledm
Liam Butler
Very nice, and certainly above my ability. I hope to achieve your level one day.
That being said, maybe make the shoulder box things pop a bit more, so that the red "X" and the gold detailing stand out a bit more.
Also, maybe add something to the fists, they currently don't stand out all that much compared to the central body.
Matthew Jenkins
Current WIP marine squad only recently got back into the hobby
John Young
Anyone have any tips on how I'd go about converting or making these dudes? Anywhere I should start, apart from just getting my hands on some skulls?
Thomas Thompson
Anyone here not varnish your models? I stopped after a few accidents, and any varnish significantly messes up the paintjob. Matt is the best, but barely protects it, plus makes any metallics look terrible. Satin is ok, but makes it look plastic, gloss is obviously bad. Plus, factor in frosting, cracking, and other shenanigans, it's more work than benefit.
Cooper Smith

>maybe make the shoulder box things pop a bit more, so that the red "X"
I really like that idea, will see if I have some tape to paint on the X.
>Also, maybe add something to the fists
Fists aren't entirely done, but was considering Blood for the Blood God just to make them look bloody.

How do I into transfer sheets, /wip/?
Also, though I asked this last thread, I'd like to absolutely be sure on this, but how and what do I use for FW resin kits? I'm going to get their MkII kits, as well as their command upgrade kit for the sergeant helms.
Anons said to just wash them and it'd be fine, and beware the resin dust.
For washing, would using regular dishsoap and water be fine? Also, user said that for bent parts to place them in boiling water, or something like that. I've heard that you could use something like a hairdryer just as fine as well, is this true or no?
Also, don't FW kits use a different sort of sprue compared to the regular GW ones? Would my sprue clipper work, or would I need to use something else?

I would like to point out that i live in Australia. Walmart does not exist here.
Bunnings does and primers can be anywhere from $18 to $40 so i figured just keep going with what i have done before but do it with a can this time. Also the EG is coming soon.
Kevin Ortiz
you can get the overpriced gee dubya primer for about the same amount as a can of spray paint here so i just use that
Kayden Murphy
They look sexy as fuck though. Noise.
Jaxson Murphy
Malifaux, my friend, Malifaux.
Alternatively, those look like classic skulls from a Skeleton kit, with plasticcard scanners (1 large rectangle, 2 rods below, then bracing and 2 rods on the side) with some claws from a non-GW product. Warmachine, maybe?
The paintjob makes them look fantastic though.
Carson Sanders
Pretty much finished except for the base. Really loving the chaos models detail as opposed to the smaller tyranids.
Easton Howard
2/2
Adam Brooks
It probably looks better in person, but I feel like it could do with a wash?
Blake Edwards
those are malifaux steam arachnids or something along those lines, look for the M&SU box for the actual name
Jacob Myers
i washed all the bone with agrax, the armor with nuln oil, and the cape/sword with druchi violet. i do feel like it looks better in person though.
Juan Moore
Cool stuff. How do you plan to print it?
Dylan Nelson
theres pearlescent powders you can buy to get that effect. I use this brand with a little bit of water and mix it with whatever paint you want to use or just use the water mix as a wash.

Looking for advice. Skitariiposter from earlier. I'm painting up my pseudo-Lucius Skitarii as normal, but I'd like to make my warlord distinct (since he's just a Vanguard). He's got the crest, but I feel like the jacket will look more distinct. Should I do a light tan, in the style of Metalica, or a black? Don't really have the paints for much else, unfortunately.

Get Dropbox on your phone and upload them to the Dropbox app.
Then download Dropbox onto your computer and move the files from the Dropbox folder to your desktop or some other folder.
THEN upload your skitarii pictures from THAT folder.

Still a lot of things to paint on this guy.

How's the to do pile coming along guys ?
Leo Reyes
12 termagants, 6 gargoyles, 2 ripper swarms, 3 warriors, and a flyrant to do. i have onky primed the gants
Jacob Hill
Just a box of Vanguard, plus a couple primed guys. I don't have the money to buy my full to-do pile at once.

Built, Unpainted: Two AoBR boxes, plus extra deffkopta. 3 boxes of gretchin. Space marine bike Many Snap fit tacticals gifted blood ravens style from GW stores Like 20 IG paper hammer tanks. Unbuilt, Unpainted One battle demi company box One BAC 160+ counts as guardsman (imperial and Bauhaus dudes from mutant chronicles) A full regiment of paper hammer tanks :^)
Adrian Gonzalez
it's not going well senpai unpainted >Ressers crew(30~ assorted models) >ten thunders crew(25 models) >many dark eldar >bolt action Americans, about 50 men, 2 tanks and a half-track >few random infinity models it's painful fellas, and with the genestealer cult stuff coming out I might have even more fucking school taking up all my time
Samuel Baker
>One thing I kinda wanted to do is give them some kind of special trait.
what about fucking with their vision? they might be able to see the "true face" of people. (like seeing an evil guy shows them a really ugly face and nice guys look like angels or some shit.)
Isaac Reyes
i like that color. Which is it?
Nathan Anderson
7 Fenrisian Wolves, 1 unpainted Wulfen, 3 75% painted wulfens, my whole Norse Blood Bowl team, 2 Harlequin jetbikes, Shadowseer, Death Jester, 4 Harlequin Troupers. And 3 rhinos I will never paint.
Bentley Ramirez
Some 1850 points of 30k Alpha Legion, some Gal Vorbak, some Phoenix Guard, and some Firedrakes. Granted, I'm looking to sell the Alphas.
Camden Wilson
Really thin coats of Cadian Fleshtone over black and white preshade, Really really thin coats of Rakarth Flesh over raised areas, And really thin Pallid Wych Flesh covering raised areas and accumulating towards highlights.
John Collins
Here's my latest. Too bad I didn't get to assemble him myself as there are some gaps and unfinished mold lines that needed scraping. Oh well.
Adam Ross
Never posted my work here before. Nearly finished this one. I will post a "before" shot too.
Jack Torres
This is what it was like before I stripped it.
Carson Jenkins
prototype imperial fist WIP testing out methods before I start production on my BaC box
Jordan Hernandez
My biggest concern would be that the bottom half of him is lighter than the top half. Should be the other way around, at least assuming normal lighting conditions.
Chase Roberts
Looking pretty good user, a nice smooth yellow.
David Johnson
Look up the raven guard highlighting scheme, it's my favorite for black. One of the sm veteran boxes has good examples.
Jaxon Diaz
It's growing steadily. I'm ready for a nuclear winter.
Joshua Hill
I think some of the white spirit ran onto the shoulder pad vent ball things. No biggy, can always do some spot highlights on them. The rest of the torso is taking into account shadows from the shoulder pads and helmet, which I haven't painted yet.
Charles Robinson
Little smidgens like the his right kneecap aside, this is really good. keep your lines clean and you'll get a really high standard of models.
David Wright
Ye I noticed the right kneecap when I looked at the pic too. I'll get around to fixing it. ty
Jose Wilson
And on that note...
Imperial fists shoulder pad rims Black? or Red?
Cameron Kelly
A lot of phones refuse to do it any other way, i'm afraid. I spent 4 hours trying to get mine to post them the correct way, but in the end, it just didn't want to do it... Even with photo's taken in landscape, it turned them on their side.
Dylan Phillips
Why do all of these guys that have shitty paint jobs insist on using Flayed-One Flesh all over the head, it makes them look like they have liver-failure.
Luis Wilson
Depends on the company they're part of.
Oliver Carter
idc about the fluff, I care about aesthetics
Robert Thompson
In that case, dark red for specialists, black for line brothers and gold for honor guard/veterans
Gabriel Torres
Which one of you lewd perverts are gonna convert the shit out of this when it drops?
Jaxson Ramirez
I'd say i'm about 70% done.
Hnnnng... i just pray to the dark gods that there is some meaningful way that they can be allied to chaos.
Henry Fisher
The stuff I actually want to work on? - 10 tac marines & Dreadnought - 8 Tau Firewarriors, Devilfish & 12 Kroot - 8 Random Imperial Guard leftovers - 10 Cultists & 7 Chaos Marines
The Marines are almost done, just a few highlights needed now. Bought a cheap dreadnought off ebay for some fire-support, not realising it was the mono-pose one from Blackridge. Now I'm off to convert it into a more dynamic pose, change the main gun and add some Dark Angel stuff to it. How's the mock pose look to you /tg?
Zachary Myers
One shameful shoebox full of WFB Empire, most of a Dark Debts crew box, a few random minis and about half a platoon of Raging Heroes Iron Empire . Aside from the box of shame it's not too bad.
Chase Nelson
thin your paints
Levi Rogers
Tamiya is here to save your day
Daniel Anderson
Already stripping it. Thanks for your contribution.
John Bailey
Looks good as is.
But I'd ditch the white highlighting.
Id use a lighter yellow/white mix instead.
