Oversized pictures that aren't properly oriented should be grounds for a temp ban. It's lazy, plain and simple.

Figured I'd ask here. Looking to do a nice, dark turquoise for my Warmahordes Retribution army, and I want to go from P3 Coal Black to P3 Meredius Blue (for you GW folks, Sotek Green [but darker] to Temple Guard Blue [but more teal-ish]). However, it just feels like there should be a midtone in there, but I'm not sure what. I'm not adverse to mixing my own colors, but even trying to slam the two together in various combinations doesn't quite look right.

In sort, I'm looking for a decent medium to medium-dark turquoise color, preferably one I don't have to mix, idgaf about manufacturer. Suggestions?

A couple of threads ago, the user who painted Auric Patricians Johnny (as seen in ) was soliciting advice. I'm waiting to see if he makes some improvements and reposts a more recent photo; then I intend to stick it in the collage for the OP picture.

Do you belong to Bartertown? The Oldhammer Forums? Any 40K/Citadel trading groups on Facebook? Ask around, and see if anyone has the old Brother Craig model they'd be willing to sell or trade.

He occasionally shows up on eBay. I use this search string (I'm partial to Blood Angels - flavour to suit your own tastes) and sometimes find him hiding amongst all the riff-raff:

Help me fluff my doods, WIP. Mostly just looking for ideas to add onto a skeleton I've got formed based on an army I'm starting up.

Traitor Imperial Guard of Tzeentch consisting of a Psykana detachment, 3 Knight Titans, and a whole lotta infantry.
Here's what I've got so far:

Imperium is at war dealing with a big cultist uprising, and the occasional Daemon is encountered here and there. Psykana detachment is called in to deal with that, but they meet a few randy Daemons they just can't shake out of their heads, and their Commissar gets a real eye full, giving him funny feelings all over.
Daemonic incursions start getting worse and a swift evacuation of valuable combatants is made from the surface before the planet gets the shit exterminatus'd out of it. They're in a hurry so they just cram what they can aboard. Knights and Psykers and a whole lot of extremely lucky Guardsmen who were in the right place at the right time all end up aboard the same vessel. Due to their rush to get out of the system, somebody forgets to laugh at the Machine Spirit's lame jokes while they're being wined and dined and the ship becomes lost in the Warp.
At this point, the Psykers start practicing their fuckery among the crew and passengers, showing everyone how great Tzeentch is when paired with some fava beans and a nice Chianti while the Commissar visits the men and explains to them that these funny feelings they're having are perfectly natural.

Now, this crazy bunch of traitors... attacks people? I don't know, that's kind of where the creative flow stops. Anybody got ideas? One thing I kinda wanted to do is give them some kind of special trait. I can't remember the name of the Chapter, but there's a group of traitor Marines who turned to Tzeentch when they were cursed with the "gift" of being able to hear every lie spoken to them for what it was. I was thinking something like that. Some "gift" of Tzeentch that drives them bonkers.

They're all upright for me. Oversized? I'll give you that, my phone has a stupidly high resolution camera that doesn't capture any detail whatsoever. But every picture I've taken is upright until I upload them.

If it helps any, here are some conversion ideas I've had for them:

-Important people (sergeants and the like) might get blue or green tints to their skin, along with the occasional mutation here and there
-Lots and lots of eyeballs on stuff (I'm on a Bloodborne kick lately so the whole insight/madness/Great One thing is pretty prominent in my head)
-Knights are getting feathers out their Knightly asses

Then don't vomit them into the thread all willy nilly, upload them to your computer and edit them to make sure they're not retarded. Also phone cameras let you adjust the resolution in the settings.

Fun fact: The second one (inverted) *is* from my PC. It uploaded into Discord fine, saved fine, and fucked up when I uploaded it here.

Blue ink on metal. It's not glittery but it's a reflective translucent blue that is also pretty cool.

Try mixing a very light metal like whatever mithril silver is now to the ink you want, and thin it. I did this by accident and came out with some Fabulous Ultra Marines.

Almost done with this guy, how am I doing? Any tips? The Blood Talons were a nightmare and can't say I am all that happy with them, considering using Blood for the Blood God over them.

It's because phones are in this arms race to have the most megapixels because "ours has more megapixels" is an easy way to win over idiots. One megapixel is roughly hdtv level resolution. You don't need 80. Stop falling for dumb bullshit and stop posting unedited pictures.

That being said, maybe make the shoulder box things pop a bit more, so that the red "X" and the gold detailing stand out a bit more.

Also, maybe add something to the fists, they currently don't stand out all that much compared to the central body.

Current WIP marine squad only recently got back into the hobby

Anyone have any tips on how I'd go about converting or making these dudes? Anywhere I should start, apart from just getting my hands on some skulls?

Anyone here not varnish your models? I stopped after a few accidents, and any varnish significantly messes up the paintjob. Matt is the best, but barely protects it, plus makes any metallics look terrible. Satin is ok, but makes it look plastic, gloss is obviously bad. Plus, factor in frosting, cracking, and other shenanigans, it's more work than benefit.

Also, though I asked this last thread, I'd like to absolutely be sure on this, but how and what do I use for FW resin kits? I'm going to get their MkII kits, as well as their command upgrade kit for the sergeant helms.

Anons said to just wash them and it'd be fine, and beware the resin dust.

For washing, would using regular dishsoap and water be fine? Also, user said that for bent parts to place them in boiling water, or something like that. I've heard that you could use something like a hairdryer just as fine as well, is this true or no?

Also, don't FW kits use a different sort of sprue compared to the regular GW ones? Would my sprue clipper work, or would I need to use something else?

I would like to point out that i live in Australia. Walmart does not exist here.

Bunnings does and primers can be anywhere from $18 to $40
so i figured just keep going with what i have done before but do it with a can this time.
Also the EG is coming soon.

you can get the overpriced gee dubya primer for about the same amount as a can of spray paint here so i just use that

Alternatively, those look like classic skulls from a Skeleton kit, with plasticcard scanners (1 large rectangle, 2 rods below, then bracing and 2 rods on the side) with some claws from a non-GW product. Warmachine, maybe?

The paintjob makes them look fantastic though.

Pretty much finished except for the base. Really loving the chaos models detail as opposed to the smaller tyranids.

i washed all the bone with agrax, the armor with nuln oil, and the cape/sword with druchi violet. i do feel like it looks better in person though.

theres pearlescent powders you can buy to get that effect. I use this brand with a little bit of water and mix it with whatever paint you want to use or just use the water mix as a wash.

Looking for advice. Skitariiposter from earlier. I'm painting up my pseudo-Lucius Skitarii as normal, but I'd like to make my warlord distinct (since he's just a Vanguard). He's got the crest, but I feel like the jacket will look more distinct. Should I do a light tan, in the style of Metalica, or a black? Don't really have the paints for much else, unfortunately.

Then download Dropbox onto your computer and move the files from the Dropbox folder to your desktop or some other folder.

Really thin coats of Cadian Fleshtone over black and white preshade,
Really really thin coats of Rakarth Flesh over raised areas,
And really thin Pallid Wych Flesh covering raised areas and accumulating towards highlights.

My biggest concern would be that the bottom half of him is lighter than the top half. Should be the other way around, at least assuming normal lighting conditions.

Look up the raven guard highlighting scheme, it's my favorite for black. One of the sm veteran boxes has good examples.

It's growing steadily. I'm ready for a nuclear winter.

I think some of the white spirit ran onto the shoulder pad vent ball things. No biggy, can always do some spot highlights on them. The rest of the torso is taking into account shadows from the shoulder pads and helmet, which I haven't painted yet.

Little smidgens like the his right kneecap aside, this is really good. keep your lines clean and you'll get a really high standard of models.

A lot of phones refuse to do it any other way, i'm afraid. I spent 4 hours trying to get mine to post them the correct way, but in the end, it just didn't want to do it... Even with photo's taken in landscape, it turned them on their side.

The Marines are almost done, just a few highlights needed now. Bought a cheap dreadnought off ebay for some fire-support, not realising it was the mono-pose one from Blackridge. Now I'm off to convert it into a more dynamic pose, change the main gun and add some Dark Angel stuff to it.
