This is a Genestealer Cult free zone

If a chaos cult and a genestealer cult went to war over a hive, who would ultimately win it out

Vape in my pussy and call me your meme slut daddy

Generstealer cult probably.

Because their end game beats chaos'.

I have a question

You see the decoration on top of these marines are really cool and all, but do they have special meanings or anything? The one on the left is clearly an Ultramarine symbol, but what about the one on the last three?

Is there any kind of guide to the Imperium's iconography and other symbols and sigils beyond army emblems?

Exodites when GW?

The one that calls in their otherworldly patrons first.

Too late, the patriarchy is already here!

EAT THE RICH!

How can the same company that produced the shit brick that is the Taurox produce this sexy Goliath beast?

No weapon should have more than two of these qualities.
-ap2
-ignores cover
-the ability to hit multiple models.

Couldn't chaos recruit faster though

>run FW corsair rules
>glue wood elves to lizard men dino mounts
>?????
>EXODITES!!!!

How does this look for a chapter.

When you get down to it, why would the Exodites be a full army? They don't leave their maiden worlds, and their military forces are only there to engage in ritual combat among themselves and to defend against mon'keigh invaders.

I wouldn't mind seeing them as just a few interesting troop choices for Craftworld Eldar, though (like they were back in, what, 2nd Ed?). A few dragon knights to harass the enemy, and then a knight variant. That's all they really need.

What epub reader are you all using?

All of the epubs from the mega display as jumbled ZOOMED letters and 1/8th of an image regardless of what readers I use.

Bland

...

Like Black Templars.

Looks like a space marine.

readium

Left to right:

Command squad company standard bearer, equipped with company standard wargear or the relic banner wargear

Apothecary's backpack, no rules

Sergeants back banner, no rules

Last two are personal icons for veterans, no rules. Can be used to represent iron halos on HQs or 30k squad vexillas/sergeant back banners

the codexes sometimes have information on that kind of stuff

I previously thought that the eagle with a skull instead of a head was representative of a space marine captain, but I think that was just me making shit up in my head.

I want to focus more on quality of build and paint.

I want to have a "generic" army that looks very good and is very cohesive, but that isnt a "special snowflake" in any way.

I'll add decals and little details like in the Imperial Armour books.

Sounds like you had a bad blastmaster experience.

I think any AP2 blast weapon should have ignores cover. A plasma cannon should get through the bush you're hiding behind.

Redemption Cults when?

chaos can call in daemons to fight for the hive, whereas genestealers generally call in the hive fleets once they own the place, so unsure.

Splash a bit of color atleast

I'm considering making Ork beep boops, and I have an excess of sprues and plasticard sheets, along with plenty of shoota bitz. I hope it's as feasible as it sounds. That being said, are shootaz in 7e worth it?

THANK YOU these posts are exactly what I was hoping to find.

Has anyone else ever become so dissatisfied with what their chosen faction has become that you've decided to just cut and run by selling off your army to start something new?

The Wolves have become such a fucking joke at this point that I've lost all desire to continue painting the ones I have let alone add more kits to my collection

The winged skull (like on the last one of the right, or their chests) is a pretty common symbol for space marines -- they're the "Angels of Death" after all.

The eagle with a skull is, if I remember right, a symbol associated with the chapter's cult. Not sure about that though. You see it on a bunch of Space Marine stuff, along with the more typical Imperial Aquila (double-headed eagle thingy).

I always give my Boyz shootas

The paint job is the bland problem.

It looks too much like Black Templars or Raven Guard but without any iconography or character it just looks like meh. Nothing about your scheme is visually appealing or interesting which makes it bland no matter how well you paint bland.

This chapter is primarily based around the massive time and efford I'll save if I just wash them for shades and just paint the details.

They'd go in the color of plastic.

It was a problem before, but now the new GW plastic sprues have a darker tone and much better detail and clean surfaces.

eh. probably the stealer cult because they have magic hypnotic powers as well as being better at posing as just another emperor worship cults.

their biggest advantage is that the hybrids are the ultimate cooperators with their bretheren rather than the deranged and desperate seeking personal power and glory.

thougb the old fluff mentioned that often enough they'd work together and perhaps even merge too oppose the imperial goverment.

Don't think I'd seen that cannon mount option on the left in the other pictures.

How many different fucking guns can this thing take?

We've seen heavy stubbers, twin-linked heavy stubbers, some sort of heavy flamer weapon, this thing...

No. You are the only person in the history of wargaming to ever become dissatisfied with anything.

It's going to be sad when the best use for Tyranids are some small, specialized cell of allies for Genestealer Cults.

I'll paint one and report back.

Ah so your lazy.

Should have just started out with that.

cover isn't just literally getting in the way of and stopping the bullet. It also represents that the targets are obscured and harder to aim at accurately.

>They'd go in the color of plastic.
What?

What's wrong with the Wolves?

Look into 30k Space Wolves.

They pretty much are what 40k Space Wolves were bach then when all the furryshit was nonexistent

I mean same can be said of GSC right? They don't invade they just take a world and wait right?

I'll basically not paint the armor of the models, hence the grey color.

Just the details and shades.

Well sure but it's a big blast weapon that is exploding over the area and filling it with fire/shrapnel/plasma/whatever.

And I mean, if you say that such a weapon could miss and so cover should be taken into account (reasonable), why wouldn't that also apply to template weapons?

>vow not to grab any more GW plastic for the remainder of the year after latest bigass purchase in July
>now gene cults
>Plastic MkIII marines and tartaros terminators
>fucking CUSTODES
>mfw

I must stay strong.

You disgust me.

What was your latest bigass purchase?

What about the skull with the IV on it?

Wait and see, it may turn out good.

When I report back after some time I wont mention the mini is almost unpainted, lets see if its noticeable.

This. Still not done.

Sure, but they first have to take it over, and so there's more potential there for reasons for them to be fighting another army.

The Maiden Worlds were settled over 10000 years ago (Maybe some of the Craftworlds like Biel-Tan have managed to make some more, but in any case they'd be pretty rare compared to the typical Exodites). They're not attacking anyone, so their place in the fluff is pretty limited.

I mean yeah they could definitely come up with a full list for them, but GW doesn't do lists for stuff they don't produce minis for, so I wouldn't ever expect a full Exodite list.

How's my first shitty attempt at painting?

...

For their points what is the best troops choice in the game.
One of the regulars at my store says tactical marines, another says ork boyz and I am of the opinion that the best is fire warriors

Washes might not stick to bare plastic. I use a grey primer for mine. It's hard to tell what parts got hit by the spray but when the model is finished its a nice bold grey color

Mechanically the point of cover is to counter the AP of an enemies weapons/improve your "armor" a the cost of restricted movement to a locale or limited use ability.

Making weaponry that completely ignores every defense except invuls AND kills whole squads at once is poor design.

If it is a rare or drawback riddled wepon fine but otherwise no.

Like you're not even going to prime them? You're just going to put some white paint on the pauldrons and say "hey that's enough?"

It's going to look like shit. Look there are ways to paint minis that don't involve a lot of effort (metallics, for instance) but will look good. What you're describing sounds terrible. The fact that you're putting any thought into it at all is at odds with how shit this is going to be.

I'll bear that in mind.

The sole purpose of the grey is to avoid painting, so if it doesnt work I'll just do chapter B

Maybe if I wash the minis with soap before painting the washes will stay.

Its a minimal thing anyways, just for the creases and folds, not for the surfaces.

Sounds like you're trying really hard to gild dog shit.

I have this for you. 10 bucks at walmart for 2 gallons. There's a problem with the primer on those dudes, so stripping them is the only advice I can give.

Did you coat your models in sand first? Wtf

Well you ruined the models at the spraying stage. I'd say throw the can out

As I say I'll try and will post results without disclosing that the mini is not even primed.

If it's shit I'll do plan B

Did you sand blast your models?

You are in the wrong hobby if you are intentionally avoiding 50% of it.

>Hey Quaid, remember me?

Anyone got White Dwarf 292?

It's Eldar jetbikes and skilled rider marine bikes. Tactical marines and boys are overpriced pieces of shit and literally just taxes for the free rhino or a grav weapon/extra bodiess to escort the klaw nob

they still had the furry shit. it was just more of an artistic choice to them than a lifestyle back then though.

Not sure. Might be for "4th Company," but the overall color scheme doesn't seem to be right for that, and the banner and colors would suggests it's supposed to be 2nd Company.

just use a grey primer for fuck's sake. Can of mechanicus grey or something similar is the same color as the one you're looking for

Puristfags are always the same.

I disagree.

HEY BENNY!
SCREW YOU!

Okay well if all that gritiness is the result of melting, they're fucked. More likely, you just sprayed the primer from too far away. I you do that, the paint dries on the way to the mini and you end up with a fuzziness.

Strip with simple green and try again.

I remember when Space Wolves were normal, not always bearded space marines that had mild and subtle nods to wolf badges and iconography, but that still maintained a very imperial look.

Modern Space Wolves look more like Chaos Space Marines than anything else. And the wulfen shit is just AoS tier

Not painting is the sole purpose of the color of the chapter, if it doesnt work I'll paint another color scheme.

Sorry for triggering all of you

Looks similar to Doom Eagles.

>I want to get into classic cars.
>But I only want to drive them and not rebuild or work on them at all.

It will be obvious it's not painted because the plastic will be slightly shiny. I recommend "priming" with a clear matte varnish before your plan, or at least sealing it afterwards. It might hide the fact that the grey parts are unpainted.

Seeing as this was not answered when I last asked it, has anyone here every gotten anything from warhammerart.com/, and if so what size/type of print of you recommend?

Yes, it's jetbikes. Even without throwing in scat lasers everywhere, their enormous mobility advantage over every other troops choice, combined with pretty good firepower and being fairly resilient (3+ armor, jink) means that they're extremely solid.

Throw in scat lasers and warlocks and you've got yourself something that is really, really overpowered.

Bud, a BIG aspect of the hobby is painting your army. That's why people are triggered.

Do you half-ass everything else you do in life?

It's a bit of a toss up since Boyz in general aren't worth it. The one place they're really usable is in a Green Tide formation, and given that you just run that as far as you can every turn, Shootas aren't a great option for it.

If you're set on running them however, Shootas will tend to give you a better result, because the last place most Orks want to be is in close combat.

easily scatbikes. like by a fucking mile

I dont have time for that.

Besides I have more "cars"

nah I think I'm good for what I have in mind, according to this image.

Of course, I'll use all the tricks of the trade. My main objective is seeing if a lazy color scheme can work well if everything else is well done.

You're not "triggering" anyone. We're just telling you right now that it's going to look like shit. You can say "well I don't care about that," and that's fine, because it's your stuff and you can do whatever you want with them, but don't be surprised when it looks like shit and people tell you it looks like shit. Those people won't be triggered either. They'll just be telling you the truth.

Is this Forgeworld Metalica's paint scheme? Fuck Ill have to do that scheme to go with my skitarri

Hm. I always thought the eagles were way more gray. Still metallic, just darker.

youtube.com/watch?v=FayBHOhucf0

Just follow this video guide. Remember the acetone step.

Kek I love that video

It'll work out just fine I think

Played Black Templars since 5th, stopped playing after 6th ed since I could not win a game with them at all and after they got rolled up in the codex I got uninterested in their new rules. Played them a bit in 7th but they still feel just as crap as they were in 5th and 6th as they have no access to any formations that helps their rules and right now it seems that with marines you either bring grav or you're fucked so fuck that, havent sold them because they're my favorite army.

Moved on to Imperial Fists in HH and its so much more fun.

Alternatively,WD 291

>Deathwatch
>Genestealers
>Custodes

What's with all the new armies lately? The hell

And they all look like cartoony shit

>it actually ends up looking somewhat interesting

>Custodes
Who says they're coming to 40k?
