I'm looking at the sprue; One has holes, and 2 have half plates on opposite sides. None of the MKIII heads have full plates. So they all have grills or holes in some capacity.

I am a painting novice and I don't trust myself to reach all the details once they are assembled.

I am going to try out my skills on a few Armageddon Steel Legion guardsmen before I touch my marines, but I am still curious how you guys do it.

I paint like shit so here's my advice for you

>Assemble the minis
>Spray paint it with whatever main color the marines are
>Wash the marine with a wash of the same color as the spray, this adds a certain ammount of depth
>paint the details

DONE! Remember to thin them paints and be patient.

Probably good to paint them fully assembled. Only fiddly bit is the head, since they're tucked into the torso.

They're getting unique Destroyers and something else.

Hilariously, their unique Destroyers will in all likelihood be absolutely terrible, seeing as FW usually 'buffs' the base unit and increases their price to offset the difference.

Actually, I've got a question about the whole "painting unassembled" thing. How do you attach the painted pieces together without risking the plast glue and superglue spoiling the paintjob? Always seemed like too much of a risk to me.
