Stats are tools. They can be used well, in which case they're good, or poorly, in which case they're bad.

To use stats well, you need to make sure that the reader understands not only what the stats represent (e.g. "STR" referring to your physical strength, or how much force you can exert on things with just your body), but also the difference in the stats' values (e.g. the difference between your STR being 4 vs it being 5) and how the stats might affect each other (e.g. is it better for you to have STR 4 and END 5, or END 4 and STR 5).

Well, because I can't guarantee to do stats well (or with enough detail) and some people find them limiting, I think I'll just stay away from it in this cyoa.

Bad stats don't relate to what is important in your CYOA. Bad stats are ones that carry numerical values when the values are never used in any algebraic calculation.

There's a lot of power behind "Moxy Excellent". It's just that most people end up putting in D&D stats that the feature ends up being a piece of shit. So long as you put thought behind it, you won't find yourself coming out worse.

Blood Magic Changelog:
1. Toned down or outright removed most of the apocalyptic stuff. But the apocalypse is still going to happen. Kinda.
2. Shortened the intro.
3. Descriptions before each panel are no longer narrated by assholes.
4. Whitewashed the blood mages as much as I could.
5. Gave fluff for the Convention.
6. Increased the number of points you have by 10.
7. Made the equipment system independent from everything else. You have 10 tokens to spend just on your inventory.
8. Changed some of the wording of the Paths.
9. Changed and expanded Australian description a bit.
10. Added two new Locations.
11. Added two new Covenants and expanded the old ones.
12. Revealed the mystery and motivations behind the Eclipse covenant. Not that anyone cared about it before, judging by the previous responses.
13. Enemies panel was removed due to being useless, some fluff from it was reassigned to other panels.
14. Sacrifices are now much less harsh.
15. You are now guaranteed at least 4 free spells.
16. There are now twice as many spells to choose from.
17. Changed how some old spells work, their costs and other stuff.
18. Usurpation aspect’s color scheme is now gray instead of yellowish.
19. Equipment costs now make more sense.
20. More stuff to buy from the Equipment panel.
21. You no longer can sell your soul to buy an AK. Not because it costs more now, but because you literally can’t sell your soul in the drawbacks anymore.
22. Ugly descriptions for the Followers are now much longer and make somewhat more sense, I hope.
23. There are now 3 more Followers for you to choose from.
24. Previously scrapped Missions panel which you’ve never seen before makes it return, but no one can appreciate this fact.
25. Finally included the suggestion by that one user about blood mages retroactively becoming demons which I promised to make back in the spring. I’m sorry I took so long.
