That final was horrible, neither deserved to win it. literally punt: the game
Joseph Howard
Oran played well except the last game. Made some wtf plays for sure in the third but the miracles player was just so shitty that he swung it anyways.
Cameron Peterson
why is that card black. it should be blue. MTG has really gone to shit. its like they dont even care anymore. im glad i left
Jonathan Watson
Why is that ever relevant
Lincoln Barnes
Why should it be blue?
Kayden James
That's the pettiest complaint I've seen all day. A tentacled archmage who rivals the might of oldwalkers can identify as whatever color she wants.
I wanted Goblin Prison to win.
Parker Flores
...
Bentley Howard
What ? Where ?
Kevin Hall
Eternal Weekend on Twitch, Cardtitan
Replay should be available.
Nathan Green
If you meant where was the punt, see every play by the miracles guy, and oran not surgical extracting STP, not hard summoning marit lage game 2.
Jayden Cook
Pocket chocolate
Logan Richardson
Good to see that even people in big tournaments do the same basic mistakes I do all the time.
Sebastian Gonzalez
When was that? I missed it.
Gabriel Reed
in the semifinals match vs dnt. even sloppier play by miracles that game but at one point he did bust out of his pocket an already open half eaten candy bar and fucking chow down
Angel Hall
lmfao
Nicholas Murphy
That vintage finals man, what a wild ride.
Adam Cruz
>never watch vintage before >dude's opening hand has an almost guaranteed turn 2 win combo >other guy reveals his hand, plays about 15 cards, making everyone discard their hands halfway through this convoluted process >dude finally gets to his first turn A remnant of a more enlightened time.
Lincoln Gomez
That hardcasted emrakul was the cherry on top.
Nathan Wood
>That hardcasted emrakul was the cherry on top.
That harcasted newmrakul you mean
Jackson James
So what decks does Veeky Forums think are going places, and what decks does Veeky Forums think are going nowhere fast?
I'd guess hatebear builds are in the former category. So much redundancy, even if the new bears aren't nearly as good as the old ones. And Storm is in the latter category, unfortunately.
Christian Nguyen
second.
Jaxson Flores
Ban Hexmage
Angel Bailey
>going places Anything with creatures
>going nowhere fast Anything with mainly artifacts and enchantments
Brayden Gray
The depressing thing is that, though I'm a dirty combo-player and that's not likely to change, I really like prison and control decks, too. I got into Legacy by means of combo staples, though, and I'll be more than a tad flusterstormed if the whole archetype gets nuked.
Luke Lewis
Is it just me or do most control players also enjoy combo more thab other aechtypes and vice versa?
Alexander Harris
twitch tv/cardtitan/v/98040029 Pocket chocolate at 4:21:30
Chase Williams
That's not as sweet.
Bentley Garcia
Maybe a little bit?
I'm a controlfag, but there's decks in every archetype that I'd like to play.
It sounds stupid, but some decks have a certain aesthetic that makes me interested in them. Something about how the deck functions as a cohesive whole, and each card has its reason for being included that is part of the larger strategy.
I think what it really is is that I'm a huge Johnny.
Christopher Parker
I see what you mean, just from what I've seen online a lot of control players seem to have a hidden combo love and vice versa. Perhaps the couple of examples I've seen have just been ingrained in my mind
Ryder Bell
look at the bright side: you're not modern storm. you've also got some loving with dark petition recently.
Cooper Sanders
The card isn't black
Its color identity isn't even black for EDH.
Gabriel Garcia
>checks top8 >checks the tournament meta
Yup. Still a terrible time to be an Elf.
David Gray
I think it's primarily because combo is a good finisher for control decks.
Blake Smith
Is Inventor's fair plus crucilbe a decent synergy for an artifact heavy deck ? I was seeing the vintage finals and damn that got me thinking.
Isaiah Hughes
What tournament was this?
Jaxon Bennett
Eternal weekend legacy
Christian Richardson
>Tired of losing to combo decks >Jumble together an UR delver deck with some FoW as insurance >Have FoW+blue card in hand >Combo player goes off >He casts a lethal storm spell >Stare at unused FoW in hand >Slythering table snickers >The Wizard Sorting Hat consoles: "There, there, boy... there's always Hufflepuff for wizards like you!" >Walk of shame to the back row of the Burn table
Ian Foster
Shh, just play dredge.
Henry Sanders
>Tfw i have 2 copies of that card from 10yrs ago, when i used to play as a teen >They're both too ruined to be sold
Ayden Morris
>"coldsnap was 10 years ago" >no it wasn't >check release date >anno dominI 2006 I feel old for some reason.
Landon Mitchell
If you're losing to combo, it's time to play Miracles
Bentley Watson
...
Jaxson Ross
It's a cosmic horror kind of creature and thus black. Kys immediately fucking newfag
Angel Adams
>complains about card printed 10 years ago >"I'm glad I left"
David Jenkins
>I'm glad I left >still lurks the legacy thread on Veeky Forums
Henry Perry
miracles doesn't have amazing combo matchups. ANT with a good pilot is probably favored post-board. Delver decks are usually best against combo because they put up a fast clock and have a ton of disruption. Grixis delver especially since you get to run therapies in addition to counter magic
Jose Morales
yeah, delver or just a faster combo deck is the way to go
Ayden Gutierrez
I can't blame him for wanting to lurk in the coziest general on Veeky Forums.
Joseph Moore
Me and my team mates just coerced the lgs into having a legacy tournament tonight, despite one not being planned. Get enough people to insist it's happening, and it happens. HOW to build a legacy scene 101, by DDFT Guy.
Landon Wright
do you guys have a team name?
my old team was called bootyblaster
Caleb Carter
We're the Trash Wizards.
Adam Nguyen
seems appropriate based on what you've said about them
Ryder Campbell
Also appropriate based on our playskill.
Landon Gonzalez
Then in the spirit of the holidays, I'll call for a vote to name to the Legacy General's team.
I vote for "the /dredge/guy Fan Club"
Lincoln Jackson
Catchy, but a little bit one-dimensional. How about team Comfy?
Austin Baker
I think it would be cool to have ~6 people playing lich in an open wearing "team comfy" shirts
Jason Cruz
Team Gaddock Veeky Forums?
Gaddock teej
Liam Morris
I'm tempted to play lich at every event I go to but I like feeling like I have a chance to win. Even though i usually don't do too bad when I do play it, and even though it is hilarious, it'd be hard to convince myself to play it in an open.
Bentley Jackson
Now that's a comfy fucking name.
somebody stop me
Jaxon Fisher
why would I stop you? do it, man
Cooper Foster
Where is Oops! All Spells?
Brandon Jenkins
the list is not complete. every few threads someone notices one missing. maybe one day it will be complete.
Oliver King
probably rare. I think it's about as obscure as belcher.
Jason White
I like to think this person bought three verdurous gearhulks, ripped each of them in four, and then sold the parts in four sets of three at retail price. that is how you business.
Joshua Wood
>card is clearly only ripped in three parts. wut.
Noah Wood
Quick! What's the spookiest deck you can brew before midnight?
You shitters finally ready to play some real formats?
Bentley Brooks
People play formats other than Legacy?
Jace Morgan
Zombardment. None spookier.
Anthony Harris
At least I still get worcester. That was the only one I could really make it to anyway. They realize that the northeast is the legacy hotbed. Fine with me. No need to downgrade formats.
Mason Johnson
Nobody has the money for it, and wizards really wants people to play standard and are trying to have it be more appealing with the Standard Showdown packs.
Robert Moore
Well, it's a good thing I play modern as well, I guess.
Noah Johnson
I know this is a Legacy thread, bit can we talk about how Car Shops is a thing in Vintage?
Adam Nguyen
It's amusing, but that's because i think vehicles are goofy.
Austin Rodriguez
Sure, in practice this is the vintage general as well.
Zombie Hunt is the only spooky deck I need. Dredge counts too I guess.
If sanctioned Legacy straight up dies out I'll still play the format with anyone who wants to play, online or off. I don't need Wizards' approval to have fun.
Connor Lewis
turns out workshop is a good card.
Blake Brown
Blade variants will suffer greatly from a new card from C16.
Cameron Hill
"no"
Dominic Rodriguez
>he doesn't know what to counter You played yourself, my nigga.
Matthew Jenkins
>going places Aggro/control depending on the meta. Anyone eeking out value relative to other strategies has access to new printed high value cards. >going nowhere Combo decks only get worse over time, as they'll only garner power from counter control cards, of which there are few.
Blake Thompson
I'm a red mage at heart. Burn, Dragon Stompy, Big Red, you name it. Give me some basic mountains and I'll have a good time. So my question is, are there any other mono red decks I should know about?
Thanks in advance and keep on tapping those mountains.
Michael Barnes
>that feel when you want to make a spooky silly Halloween-themed kitchen table deck but don't own All Hallow's Eve.
Mason Edwards
Buy: 3 cards x 4 pieces each = 12 pieces Sell 3 pieces each x 4 cards = 12 pieces Thejoke.jpeg
Brandon Myers
Goblins and Skred. Maybe some artifact build with Daretti.
Carson Morales
>Skred in legacy I'm intrigued. Can you share a list?
Sebastian Peterson
>At least I still get worcester.
Wish they'd just put it in fucking NYC so I could at least take the train there.
Brandon Robinson
they do it to keep the riff-raff out.
Michael Brown
I know it's not what you meant, but I'd like to see Jody highroller in the feature match area.
Xavier Reed
You want NYC? too bad go to NJ to play.
Jackson Gutierrez
I live in northern vermont my man.
Alexander Bell
Well my legacy event tonight didn't really fire. Only 4 of us showed up. So we just jammed some games. I played a bunch against grixis delver and went something like 6-2. Played a few rounds against reanimator and managed to win just a single game. Didn't get a chance to play against the miracles player but he's new to the deck and i played a couple games against him last week and summarily kicked his dick inside out so I suspect the result would have been similar. I was on a slightly unusual list tonight. 4 Therpay main, 2 duress, 2 spell pierce, no maindeck decay.
Isaiah Peterson
As an I, would be sweet to see if I can cast it in modern and legacy
Christian Carter
What would he play? I would like to think foiled storm or goblins.
Asher Gutierrez
White bordered Aluren with Imperial Recruiter instead of Cheapo Recruiter
Camden Hughes
Holy shit, every deck i play against on Xmage is D&T and combo decks. Is cockatrice any different?
