I fell a couple of threads behind (missed one of them getting a new link, was wondering what happened that made everyone suddenly vanish given how fast these move)

Creation Sphere Playtest is still new and needs more people tearing it apart! I've had a busy couple of days but plan on getting to some of the more in depth revisions this weekend so please help with pointing them out and suggesting fixes!

docs.google.com/document/d/1kitAB8sHgmuD3fvOMuI_KyV_dxpO2wrxQmbnCoRgglA/edit#

(How do I get this added to the OP?)

>Will you play kitsune
I will not. Not because I dislike them, but because the entire rest of my gaming group plays them. I'm here to balance these guys out.

By being as a ill and shitty at actually doing anything as me.

I was never gonna play a kitsune anyway, and /pfg/ has only made that fact increasingly more certain by the day.

>that pic
Is her chest where all her mutagens go?

>kitsune can have +2 Intelligence?

Got screenshots?

So, I posted this question a few threads back, but I think it got lost because it was kind of a wall of text, so I'll post the short version:

I want to give my players at-will use artifacts. Powerful enough to affect the way they play their characters, but not so powerful as to be exploited. The face feels useless in combat, and the beater just sits on his phone in social situations. I was thinking of giving the beater some sort of Rock of Detect Alignment or something.

Thoughts? How should I design these artifacts?

Those aren't artifacts, artifacts are meant to be powerful enough that they don't have to follow normal magic item rules any longer and completely warp campaigns around them.

You're thinking of custom magic items.

What classes are the face and beater?

Eyebiter Mesmerist and Serpent-Flame Adept Monk.

And the third player is a Psychic Duelist, but I'm less worried about him. He's a clever cookie.

>Hell's Rebels
>it's PbP
>it's not even using Pathfinder for a system

What even is this?

What kind of self-respecting alchemist wouldn't abuse the hell out of mutagens?

>say next campaign is human only
>players throw a fit
>90% of the time they play humans anyway
I don't understand.

I will not, for I cannot act cute.

What I can do is wait for the day when I can return summer to Irrisen by summoning Ymeri TOO SOON. Or replacing her with Atreia and then having him show up TOO SOON.

WELL PLAYED!

Eh, same logic as when somebody tells you that you HAVE to watch a certain movie or read a certain book, I'd guess.

The moment you hear that you can only play a human is the moment you start coming up with really compelling character ideas for anything but.

Mankind is nothing if not defiant.

even scary things can be cute user

Pharmaceutical engineers who abuse their own drugs at all don't make a lot of sense Tbh. You're not gonna be designing potions at all for much longer if you are taking mental-stat-lowering chemicals every day for weeks or months.

Vest of Stable Mutations.

I would hate to give her a cunnilingus.

But most alchemists aren't exactly pharmaceutical engineers. They're a bit more like drug dealers.

what

Pretty much, yeah. In fact, they more often than not sample their own wares than pass them out. Some aren't capable of passing them out at all.

Alchemist is the mad scientist class for a reason.

Some are smart about it. Many are not.

I'm still really glad for that Promethean Disciplie discovery. Getting access to crafting constructs is just so wonderfully thematic for an alchemist, particularly given the origins of the Flesh Golem

Ok. Time to figure out werewolf gal traits

Probably Bred for War an somethin else

Heh.

Breeding.

NO NOT AGAIN

AWOOS ARE NOT FOR LEWDS

Are you sure?

VERY

But...

NO!

...

...

But can cute things SHOW THEM THE TRUTH? THAT THIS WORLD AND ALL THEY HOLD DEAR EXIST ONLY TO BURN? THAT THE END COMES - THE FINAL HOUR OF TWILIGHT, AND THERE IS NOTHING THEY CAN DO TO STOP IT?

YES

Sure they can!

Can you choose kinetic blast for the purposes of weapon training ?

Got told to make a half elf/orc druid so i'm going saurian shaman. First time playing something that isn't summoner or aegis, will things go well?

Is it in any weapon groups? Otherwise, I guess you could choose it for Weapon Master archetype's weapon training.

Has anyone played a Blaster Armorist?
How did it go?

It ain't bad.

The archetype could be better, but it's a step up over the normal Armorist.

...

What do you even mean by that

what do you think i mean so that i may clarify

like do you want a literal archetype like a Tyrant antipaladin or

How well can a Harbinger do ranged stuff? Half-Int to Attack and eventually Int to damage(meaning potentially X4 int to damage with Elemental Nimbus Kirin style tree) seems hella tempting.

Feat starvation, none of your base disciplines net you ranged strikes (VM has a couple but they are the weaker ones) which means both of your discipline trades will have to be for stuff that nets you that, and plenty of class features that don't work half as well as a ranged attacker.

Some good archetypes of LE are.
>Dr. Doom,. power hungry manipulative chessmaster.
>Pontius Pilate, ruler uncaring of justice or the wellbeing of his subjects, just wants to mantain his power.
> Frollo from the Hunchback of Notre dame, an arrogant and malicious priest using a religious instutution to justify his actions.
>Gaston from beauty and the Beast. A selfish bully who supports the community becau they idealize him and basks on their praises

DM is using some quality of life feat tax reductions and I'm not going to be full attacking for various reasons. Fuck why does Path of War have to be ranged unfriendly. Melee only this and melee only that. Especially for the fucking SU disciplines, makes no sense.

>and I'm not going to be full attacking

In this case, you could stack even more INT bonus damage on top with 4 levels of Grenadier Alchemist.

Assuming PoW is allowed, is toughness, narrow frame, martial charge and as many feats into martial training (broken blade) the optimal build for animal companions?

>Grenadier Alchemis
What ability lets them do that.

If it's the coat weapon thing, that won't work due to the ephemeral nature of my weapon and since you can't use rays with strikes I'm stuck with Boosts and Counters(mainly counters and some utility boosts) until at least initiator level 10.

It is the imbue weapon thing and explosive missile discovery. a total of 3xint (+the bomb/item damage) more if you use focused admixture.

Anyway I think I might just quick with that nonsense, because this build eats swifts like a mother fucker. 8 levels of Aegis With Initiator's Soul with that +2 Initiator Trait to net Double Int to Damage, though now I'm questioning is it even worth staying in Aegis that long just for that. There's not a whole lot out of it that I want besides helping me out the Psionic fluff I want.

How would you explain Quasi-Elementals within the Pathfinder cosmology and how would you stat them? I'm asking because I'm fairly the sure the four Elemental Planes and two Energy planes are not as close to the Prime Materiel plane or each other in Pathfinder compared to ye olde DnD-e

I don't get it, what do you need 8 levels in aegis for?
The standard dip is 3, or 4 at very most, plus Student of the Astral Suit and Skinwalker's Leather.

is it possible to make a low level bard that isnt shit without using 3pp?

What are you trying to focus on with your bard?

Mainly being the party face but I want to contribute to combat as well, was thinking of focusing on ranged combat while buffing the party which is i think is going to consist mostly of heavy beaters (2/4 are gonna be a paladin and a fighter) and providing some utility and CC with spells

Hey does anyone have the Scared Land 3 Party Material campaign setting from Onyxpath Publishing and Nocturnal Media? I can't find it in the mega.

I finished reading through Strange Magic the other day, and it was a hell of a trip. Why is everything so complicated? And why do I want to play almost every class?

thanks!
any specific tips for low levels? starting at level 3, wondering what feats i should pick up

was thinking of getting point blank shot + rapid shot

Your attack bonus is low enough, so don't bother with Rapid Shot.

Improved Initiative will let you fire that first shot or start singing earlier.
Arcane Strike will get you a small bonus to hit and damage.
Skill Focus will start you on the path towards Eldritch Heritage feats.

How would one make a character who does almost nothing in a combat encounter, yet still meaningfully contributes to it?
Someone who's incredibly lazy, and decides to spend his combat encounters just sitting on the wayside, sipping tea preferably.

Materials: Spheres of Power, Pathfinder, Path of War, 3.5 materials upon request, Psionics. Others upon request.

If I wanted to make a character who could do some neat blinking around the battlefield how would I do this?GM says 3pp is allowed and all core is allowed and we have 30 point buy.

Summoner.

Be the tactician from Fire Emblem.

There is PoW discipline based around bamfing. I think it was called Veiled Moon.

That sounds like it would get boring this first few times you do this.

Bard / Skald - Focus on Perform (Oratory) to make speeches to Inspire Courage or Inspire Rage.
Wizard (Conjurer) - Summon monsters to fight for you.
Bannerman (Warlord) - Specialize in Golden Lion boosts to grant your allies bonuses and extra actions.
Mystic - Use Elemental Glyphs to give bonuses. Switch a discipline to Golden Lion for the above reason.
Zealot - See the class.
Tactician - See the class.

Look at the Arrowsong Minstrel from Arcane Anthology.

Yuuuuup, it's Veiled Moon, and easily one of the (visually) coolest disciplines in the book.

What are the most visually (at least, in your mind's eye) impressive disciplines in Path of War? I'm thinking Veiled Moon, Elemental Flux and Scarlet Throne.

Literally perfect thanks

Veiled Moon because teleporting around, Mithral Current and Fool's Errand because weeb bullshit, Eternal Guardian because MENACING. Riven Horuglass just because of that one trick with moving while in Time Stop.

I think Solar Wind (or its alternate variants, especially the lightning one) probably offer some serious visuals, especially when you toss in Aurora Break or Phantom Sunstorm.

This one?

I know I'm like two threads late, but check out my forgework document that I made a long while back for making heavily armored, punchman warriors.
docs.google.com/document/d/11PB2diPJRaIQjwWeycsI4CjMHo9orpGa0K_BaUjvKWM/edit?usp=drive_web

There are a set of weapons called Armored Fists that allow you to punch people without needing IUS, as they are martial weapons. They are also light, but that doesn't matter if you go the prodigious two weapon fighting route. There also body wraps which do the same thing, but with less style. If you pick up exotic weapon proficiency (Armored Fist), you also gain a + 1 shield bonus, +2 if you are using wielding two or more armored fists, as well as allowing you to use them as shields.

Then, go into Soulknife, and grab the Augmented Blade Soulknife. Its stackable with Warsoul if you want to be an initiator. Don't forget the free gifted blade, assuming your GM allows it.

Augmented blade does a few things for you. Namely, you get access to heavy armor, and you can get TWF right out the gate as a bonus feat at level 1. You also get a psi crystal, which you can use to gain a +4 to initiative. At 4th level, you can gain access to the Split Crystal blade skill, allowing you to imbue them without going through the pain of enhancing them via gold.

Soul knife has all sorts of goodies, like a blade skill that allows you to poach Deadly Fist blade skills(Such as the Flurry line), but you can check that out yourself.

Gifted blade has a list of powers like thicken skin, force screen, and precognitive defense that all allow you to boost your AC further.

On the Warsoul side, you get Broken Blade naturally, and its a free swap to get Fools Errand. Being psionic, Sleepy goddess is a good grab as well. Combined with all of the above, and you should be a heavily armored, brawling machine.

I hope you see this and it helps, armored brawler user!

Any new leaks lately?

So how do you guys go about making backstories for your character?

Do you make a statblock and try to make something that fits? or do you have a character concept THEN make a stat block to fit?

God of the Hourglass in general.

Statblock first, then roll everything:

>paizo.com/pathfinderRPG/prd/ultimateCampaign/characterBackground/backgroundGenerator.html

They occur at the same time; I want to play a monster hunting Slayer, and him being a local woodsman whose daughter was taken by a monster fits both the campaign tone and class.

What's the best two handed weapon /pfg/? I get weapon proficiency with a weapon (exotic or martial) and I need a two handed weapon to use. I was gonna just use a greatsword but I figured you guys might know about something better.

I'm just sayin.

It's a dynamic process, but usually I start with a class (and possibly an archetype) and race that looks fun, then work from there. At that point I piece together scraps to get an idea of how they'd act and the immediate family, and by then usually I know what setting/scenario they'd be for so I look at integrating them.

Though sometimes an idea just pops into my head and I have to scramble to find a class/race that works. One character I've had shelved has undergone like, five different builds and a bucket of homebrew minimum, but I still have yet to play them. One day Kai, one day you'll get to be a badass dragonblood and woo your childhood waifu.

Tyrant Antpaladin lets you be a Lawful Evil Antpaladin.

I'm rather partial to oversized graviton cannons myself, but it's good to have a one-hander for emergencies as well; you can't always have both hands free to wield unless you've got some extra hardpoints from an aegis suit.

Fauchard

Nodachi, it's just plain cool.

look into the Nodachi. some of the best stats you can get in a two-hander.

Disregard two-handed weapons, use falcata. 1d8 is kinda low for base damage, but being the only weapon with 19-20/x3 crit range more than makes up for it.

Scythe motherfucker.

Forget everything you know and just CRIT all day via adaptive warrior

>Graviton cannons
user please, I'm playing an empty suit of armor in a fantasy setting. I don't think graviton cannons need apply.

What's the difference between the Fauchard and the nodachi? Slashing vs Slashing and piercing?

I don't really want to change my build. Warder with a two hander is pretty close to the keystone of it.

Nodachi has an 18-20 crit range.

>I don't really want to change my build. Warder with a two hander is pretty close to the keystone of it.
You can use falcata two-handed.

But the fauchard does too?

Okay so I guess the question is what looks cooler for the character.

There has got to be a way to make this spell busted:
d20pfsrd.com/magic/all-spells/m/marionette-possession
Does anyone have any ideas?
I was thinking contracting an outsider to let me use its body occasionally.

Fair. Well, thanks for the advice then!
