First for Bingo!

SECOND FOR RECOMMEND ME A BATTLE-MAT pretty please ;-;

So can anyone explain to me why the new TS sorcerers have mutations? Shouldnt the Rubric have stopped that? And if not what was the point of the Rubric then?

While I deciphered most of that, what are:
>6 x Angriffsdrohne, Klingenbund
>Multiple Zielerfassung
>Drohnensteuerung(Drone controller, I think?)
I think the Klingenbund is the bonding knife?

Only problem is, I don't have that many stealth suits. I only own 2 units of 3. I'm guessing general tactic is to group drones with commander and have the crisis suits use those markerlight tokens to blow stuff up?

The GW 40k one.

the rubric was to stop latent mutations. it doesn't stop whatever 'gifts' tzeentch wants to give them.

Y'all niggas are forgetting the best addition to the 40k roster thus far.

Convert the trucks into pic related

Didnt the rubric only affect line marines and not sorcerers?

Chimera rules work well for drive by limos

The Rubric stops rapid, uncontrolled mutation, called the Flesh Change that's caused by a geneseed error.

Mutations in general aren't stopped.

>BATTLE-MAT
I don't
Why would you buy one?
if you have a table, then you don't need one
If you are consistently playing without a table then why waste the money?
Terran would do you better then a matt.
Makes more sense in DZ because they actually move by grid or DFC.

Only the marines with the weakest psychic abilities in the legion

>tfw there's a Warband that prefers Spawndom over Princedom

But why!?

>No sisters on the cover despite teasing of new plastic minis
>Didn't pay for new art to be made for codex cover
>No focus made on Warhammer community site with regard to it being shown
I'm expecting the worst. Hold me, Veeky Forums.

It's not out for 3 weeks. They put up articles daily.

I bet tzeench did this
Imagine if one of them actually becomes a prince and spends eternity trying to devolve into a spawn.

I don't get a few of these.
What's wrong with Admech and I hardly ever see people even mention Felinids.
Your memes are out of date, sir.

Have you seen the Codex?
I'll take 150 points of spawn over 150points of DP every day of the week

No sisters on the cover because it's not a Sisters codex.

Looks like it'll be mainly Inquisition, hopefully, which is far more interesting than Sisters.

>Khorne DP tries to become a spawn
I imagine he'd become a doctor and spend all his daemonic energy on putting blood back into bodies and reattaching skulls

A mix of the same ignorance that most in 40k suffer, perspective, and the perpetual threat of unconditional insanity that comes with being Chaos-infused.

It's old as fuck.

Man, I love the idea of cat-grils in 40k. It's a dumb one, but Felinids are great.

Is there a difference? What was the point of the Rubric if the remaining TS could just blob at any minute.

On the other side as they've survived this long why couldnt the others? Why turn them in to autonoma at all if it was fine?

The Rubric effected all the TS, however it only turned the non psychic or latent TS into BOTS.

>called the Flesh Change
The flesh change was different from normal mutation. Ahriman only cast the Rubric because of the mutations from living in the Eye and Tzeentch.

...

I have one of the mats from Front line Gaming. It's good.

its basically just going to be a printed version of the inquisition online pdf they put out a while back with the same coverart, I bet, along with rules for custodes and sisters of silence.

At this height sister rolled up with the Inquisition would better, and in the beginning that's how they rolled, it would give them more options to work with without the need of allies.

Not that user, but:

>gun drone, bonding knife
>multi-tracker
>drone controller

I just like having shitloads of abhumans in my collection.

If we get boxed Inquisition I will cream myself.

Monkeys for daaaaaaaaaaaaaays.

>On the other side as they've survived this long why couldnt the others? Why turn them in to autonoma at all if it was fine?

Perspective and hindsight are a bitch, there's lots of retarded stuff that people do without needing to.

However, what the Rubric appeared to have done is made the TSS far more resistant to random mutations, which is somewhat necessary for Tzeentchian Sorcerers if they want to make it past the 5k mark without being a pesudospawn.

Are 40k (and tabletop in general) players accepting of noobs?

I want to get into tabletop but don't want to be the idiot who ruins everyone's fun by not knowing what's going on.

>Is there a difference
Flesh change was a flaw in their geneseed that caused dudes to randomly turn into proto-spawn and/or mutate.

Rubric was to try to permanently stop this, whithout needing to bargain with Tzeentch. This sort of works, as dust can't mutate, now can it?

The Sorcerers can still mutate from 'gifts' of Tzeentch, but no longer from the Fleshchange, so none of them were ticking spawn bombs.

Why are their faces so soft s-stupid sexy snakes!

Yeah but a Chimera-sized limo would have to be either really small or way boxier than a limo is supposed to be.

The trucks give a little more wiggle room, I would think.

Do I get to be on the bingo user?
Please note the positioning of BLUE PAINT on the plasma gun

Those are awful and it's extreme deviancy from the sacred human form.

also those are terribly old meme bait images, good thing that user is gone

Yes, though do your best to introduce yourself before or as a game starts

He's not. He's Raptor user and he's still around.

Whadda you guys think the odds are that Grey Knights are going to be rolled back into Codex: Inquisition?

i've got one of these and i'm very pleased with them, best mat i've seen so far. they had a kickstarter for their first set of mats i believe.

fantasywelt.de/Kraken-Mats
you can email them for support in english.

>However, what the Rubric appeared to have done is made the TSS far more resistant to random mutations
Ok thanks. Makes sense.

So beceause the TS sorcerers are some of the most powerful with the Rubric giving them a boost, they dont have to fear spawndom as much as the typical psyker?

>Rubric was to try to permanently stop this, whithout needing to bargain with Tzeentch.
I thought Magnus had already done this?

>but no longer from the Fleshchange
If they flesh change is gone does this mean TS geneseed is now stable and they can recruit new marines? I'm guessing only psychic ones however?

I propose we add "asking for scans of a book not even out yet".

Really? Oh well whatever, I won't tell people how to spend their money or time.

pleb

I love Tyranids but I'm kinda bummed that I can't really personalize them like other armies.

A bug's a bug, after all.

How can I better make my nids into MY bugs?

>I thought Magnus had already done this?

>bargain with Tzeentch

>the God of deception and change pulling some tricky shit that turns out bad for you

HUH WHO WOULDA THUNK IT

> good thing that user is gone
I never left. I'm still making monstergirls, and I'm still playing raptors. Valentine just got out of the strip a week ago, and I'm now jobless.

>I thought Magnus had already done this
Yes, but it required a bargain with Tzeentch, which is why he lost his eye. The rubric was to try and get out of the bargain while keeping the no-side effects bit of the deal.

You forgot

>bitching about how shit tyranids are/bitching about no new tyranid codex

Tyranid Warriors can't take scything talons + rending claws and that upsets me

>>pleb
>not owning your own table
>I'm a pleb
Nigger what?

That's a good one

You're kidding right?
Nid's are a case of anything goes, go buy a $3 plastic snake cut it in half and glue a Carnifex to it, Voila! custom trygon

Wings, extra claws, extra chitin etcetera
If you want to be SUPER FUCKING COOL B-) you can sit down and think about how your Tyranids would change in accord to the planets conditions. A lot of rock? Extra tiny claws to find purchase. A lot of water? Greenstuff tiny webbing onto them.
The Ultramarine novel Warriors of Ultramar, about the invasion of a cold world (It's in the Omnibus) talks about this. It's a pretty good read.

Yes they can. They replace the devourer with talons, then replace either set of talons with rending claws.

...

I don't get what's the whole fuss about blue paint? Do tell?

I do hope we don't lose all the good Inquisition stuff, like Coteaz, 5 pt. bolter Acolytes and old-pattern 5 fire point Chimera transports. Would suck to finally get plastic as it becomes shit to use.

>I'm guessing general tactic is to group drones with commander and have the crisis suits use those markerlight tokens to blow stuff up
yeah.

you can drop some stealth suits, i just put them in to fill up points. take more drones or firewarriors instead.

keep in mind that this list is bad against tough vehicles. might equip ghostkeel with double fusion to make up for that a bit.

How do I scare away all Marine players?

Newbie Tau player here, just got a small question. If your squad consists of say.. 10 pathfinders and 3 of them have a special weapon, can you shoot the 3 guns and 7 markerlights at the same squad? Of course I know you can't use the markerlight hits to augment your own shooting.

>What's wrong with Admech
People used to complain every thread about war convocation. Outdated. Take it out.

Probably replace it with CSM whining

>Codex: miscellaneous

Is this going to be a real update to the model line or are they just going to force me to buy a new book to play my inquisitor?
They better not fuck with any of my special rules or 10 point plasma guns.

The entire squad always shot at the same guys unless you have split fire or similar rules.

My sorcerer better auto fucking pass LoS...

All those paints and you chose fucking raptors.

Introduce them to 30k, telling them it's much more balanced or some shit. Not necessarily "scaring" them, but might get rid of them.

I'm confused

Is this just Tzeench marines or are we getting other "Traitor Legions" as well?

I would love to see a plastic plague marine soon.

Is that a contemptor peakin around the corner?

Can't you read?

Tzeentch miniatures, Traitor Legion rules.

All nine traitor legions, according to that WD blurb. Think Angels of Death.

Black Legion stuff will probably be an updated versiom of their supplement or a flat reprint, 1k sons will no doubt be the WoM stuff, other seven should get something new.

Why yes actually. He's not even close to being finished yet, but at least I have him up to tabletop standard. That contemptor is rolling with a Chainfist+Melta Gun, and a Kheres Ass-cannon.

I've got another contemptor coming up with cyclone missiles, heavy conversion beamer, and combi-bolter fist.

I own like 400$ worth of Paints+Powder, and lots of other painting supplies.. Despite raptors being a simple colour scheme, my typical character receives 30 different paints. The Apothecary in the picture used 28 different paints/powders.

i-it doesn't really s-show
You might want to work on your base scheme, it's as boring as the model
s-sorry

How does it look so plain then? And all that effort but still mold lines.

It looks pretty good tabletop standard, but please shave your mould lines. Nothing ruins a model and the illusion of reality more than fucking mould lines

Man I hope they don't fuck up the Alpha Legion with this, it'd be so easy to have them specifically use a bunch of custom daemon shit and suddenly any ambiguity of their allegiance is gone.

All I want is some sneak rules maybe in exchange of not being able to use cult units or something.

What are the snake bodies from? I'm planning on running a lot of Sslyth in my Deldar list and need them to make my own since I hate monopose models

Dang, alright.

That makes sense. So it sounds like others are getting rules/formations/gear, but most likely no models anytime very soon.

Sorry if I sound uninformed, I haven't been following the rumor mills lately. I thought at one point it was believed plagues/noises were getting updated plastic as well.

I guess they would re-print the supplement later if that was the case? Sounds like something GW would do.

:D

I don't use extensive highlights, rather focusing on xeniths, and extreme amounts of lowlights. that's probably why the model is seemingly plain. The pauldrons have strong gradients to them, while the parts of the model that aren't touched by my nat-source don't receive area lighting at all. So I intentionally leave them dull and washed out.

I personally get annoyed whenever I see a model that has highlights on every conceivable surface, even things that should logically never see the light of day. It makes the models look cartoonish and unrealistic.

Yea, I'm trying to get better at this..

The snake bodies are the "Snake Demon" model from Reaper Bones. I chop it off at the waist. Arms/Torso/Weapons are all from Anvil Industries, and the heads are from Statuesque Miniatures.

Yes I'm not contesting that, but they may fire different weapons/items, yes? so I can fire the 3 Rail Rifles and 7 markerlights at the enemy squad?

I bet the Inquisition is going to get Custodes and Sisters of Silence because new models.

i hope so, i liked grey knights better when they werent an entire army, a super elite space marine killer group that was brought on special missions and shit

B-but isn't it preferable to look cartoony and good as opposed to dull and bland? I can't fully judge you since the picture is of an incomplete dude... you should post some other dudes.

>B-but isn't it preferable to look cartoony and good as opposed to dull and bland?

i dont think you understand raptors lore user

thanks man, less than $3 a torso is a bargain since I'm gonna use left over raider crew torsos and lizard men heads

You're not going to make Space Marines look realistic, user.

>thought I was maybe being a pedantic dick
>actually made someone happy
Today was a good day.

you also had some spider girls too iirc

I do understand it, but right now i don't see that it's pulled off well. If you want a thorough, realistic, camouflaged style, you shouldn't have metallic red accessories.

I wish I had more models to post, yet I haven't done any real painting in quite some time. This is the most recent model I've ever done anything with, and even then he's not finished.

It's possible to have a dull model look good, especially if the focus is on lots of metalics. Aged and weathered, yet also quite complicated metalics works well on some models.

Yet a 'true' camouflaged model is actually pretty terrible in terms of appearance too. I've done board camo models before on my scouts, but I can't stand to do it on anything else.

Gentlemen. After about a year and a half of not playing 40k I'm tempted to finish what I started and complete my sisters army (painting wise I mean, I currently have just about everything I could want to field with them.)

So my questions are as follows
1) I was going for a gold color scheme when i was working on them last but I have been working with an airbrush since then, besides white what do you guys would think was an interesting color scheme you don't see often?
2) I know sisters need some support, but I don't want to bring marines or IG, this just leaves knights and the different assassins, is it always worth it to bring a knight or can you get by without them now?
3)Fortifications, which ones are still worth bringing?
4) Have sisters gotten any updates such as fortifications since I played?
5) I know if I play in my local meta Tau are a problem right now (4 tau players) what do you recommend I bring for them (besides the obvious 3 exorcists)

White base, Gold trims, Red details. Airbrush the french lillies and any power items you have.
Knights are pretty great, but what you generally want is what compliments your force. Lots of wide dudes with shooty power? Go for some Grey Knight specialists. Lost of focused firepower? Go for something that can tank/tarpit so you don't get overrun etcetera
Last 3 are hard. Tau are generally okay unless they spam Riptides/Stormsurges.

Mate, that Apothecary's not legal. GW clarified that the FAQ but where they said that they could take upgrades was a typo, and that they had meant to say 'No.'.

I get more what you're saying when you post that pic. I like it.
Also yeah, you will need to add some sort of flare to it, even if it's just an icon like a chapter insignia.

You even have to
