Old Thread:

Just pick a sound that matches roughly where the character's from in my head.

Vitalist (Sadist, Life Leech) with the Soulthief method, gestalted with a Malefex. Curse your enemies, steal their life, drain out their very souls to fuel your Dark Magics as you laugh at their cursed withering.

Now to just figure out how to flavor that up for ROTJR. Tempted to make them an aasimar for the hilarity of it. Maybe a foundling alongside Nualia?

>How do you name your characters?

I figure out what ethnic group their homeland correlates with, and then figure out a name that fits the character personality.

For example, "Silas" fits a rogue much more than "Valerian."

From the Gary Gygax Extraordinary Book of Names, or whatever is in the Core Rulebook.

>How do you name your characters?

I use the same 5-7 names over and over that I have since I was a child.

Pick a culture
Insert a name

And Cialis is pretty fitting for a bard if you know what I mean.

All my characters come from a very long line of great adventurers, beginning with the greatest wizard of 3e Articus Excelian, to the brave paladin of 4e Sir Solas Excelian to the young soulknife of PF Everett Excelian.

my DM can't help but cringe sometimes - especially when the uneducated orc barb hails from 'clan excelian'

Anagrams. I've used Adam Sandler in various anagrams for a couple games and nobody has noticed. I'm not doing it for my next couple games because I think someone might have caught onto it after my last game. Don't look up actual Adam sandler anagrams.

Seriously though find the culture and something that suits it then pick a name of someone else and shift letters around until it sounds like a name from the culture and you'll do great user!!

Orc, or half-orc?

>mfw I do this
>mfw most my characters all come from 'House Travant'

So what do you all think are the most likely characters to get chosen for RotJR?

What it seems to me is once times are announced ~50% of the players will drop due to their schedules not fitting. Then another ~20-50% won't actually finish application. We're looking at between 15-20 actual applicants.

Which would you want to see? Which are the most interesting? Which sound like they'd be most fun to hear the journeys of recounted?

Horrible puns.

There's only 40 on the mailing list, 60 looked but didn't post. following your math you'd have 10 players left.

Who do I want in RotJR? Singing Samurai, but that's because that's me. Who else? I like the bookworm.

>not liking NTRDwarf

Good point.

NTRDwarf doesn't count. How could you not love him, he's just so convincing!

I'm rather hoping my character gets in but, you know, bias.

Yeah, I want him to fuck my waifu!

Memes aside NTRDwarf is the one character I legit fucking like, my own included.

>this is literally cuckoldry

How could you not? He's just so gosh darn persuasive.

It's not NTR then, just cuckoldry.

Although at least Cuckdorf rolls off the tongue better.

Too early to say, considering we've got Rebound Slut and Razmiran Priestess and a half-dozen others applying within the next 3-4 days.

Which ones are you two?

He's basically a weird uncle who used to be a madlad, right?

>mfw those references peppered in the Swordlord's application

You cheeky fucker, I see what you're doing there.

>A Great House with a noble lineage of heroic adventurers
>Due to typical adventurer fooling around, there are now dozens of offshoot houses, families, and clans linked to them across the world and across multiple species

Goddamn, nobility can be fun sometimes.

Recall applications aren't actually OPEN.

What're they doing?

So, my party is visiting a tribal village on the fringes of the Mwangi expanse; I came up with some stories for them to learn from the locals during a festivity night.(entertaining guests and so on).
The campaign I'm running is some hired help along with an emissary of the Imperial Chelish Museum of Antiquarian and Antediluvian Artifacts, and the party is heading into the Expanse after some Definitely Not Mountains-of-Madness style stuff.

With that in mind, r8&h8 my fluff stories, some of which I came up with on the fly. Please let me know if I'm blatantly trampling over existent fluff.

A story of a local hero and a massive, flesh-eating talking plant that he stole from Perseverance and grew, tricking it into devouring a vicious enemy that plagued the tribe before abandoning it before it betrayed him.
>related to the previous session, in which they ran afoul of a cult of vegepgymies and their giant plant god, basically Audrey II from Little Shop of Horrors.

The story of a new star that died over the world, named Unity. A shard of it, named Perseverance, wound up falling into the expanse. The shard fell and poisoned the land around with madness and worse, and screamed in a voice that burned(cooked?) those who tried to interrupt it. Where it now lies has given rise to a tribe of vicious, pyromaniacal goblins, and is a place to be avoided.
>spoilers but the name Unity is significant and Perseverance is what I'm working with for a ship's boat that wound up in the Expanse. God I loved Rise of Legends. Ancient Alien Technology Aztecs are great.

The story of massive Qallas, a feline as tall as a house and with peerless cunning. Somewhere far from here, he is rumored to have have crossed a midnight plateau(?) fighting various monsters, and stolen a spell/mask from the yellow abbot. So dire was his presumption and worse his success that he was cursed with the spell/mask he stole and banished- to the Expanse.

NTR dwarf is at most meh. He's a mechanically solid character that'll make most other skill based characters worse by comparison, he's got a backstory that reads like something off a vampire the masquerade game and /pfg/ will only like him for about as long as they liked the Oni/Book sisters then they'll drop him for the next interesting character.

The best part is DHB doesn't want to fuck any waifus. He's merely capable of swooping in at any moment to fuck your waifu.

His get and spawn are shadows of his grandeur, but one smoke-blue panther is allegedly a persistent and deadly foe of the village. The reasons for the enmity are unclear- stories such as killing the cat in a previous life, or helping her sister in ages past- but the creature is said to stalk successive generations of the tribe without mercy. [PC]'s new friend, though apparently without language, was supremely smug throughout the story.
>The 'various monsters' are leng spiders and dhole worms. The place was Leng. He was banished from the Dreamworlds. The friend in question was a catt-were the lycanthrope-worshiping druid made friends with.

The story of Old-Mage Jatembe and his Ten Magic Warriors, ancient guardians of Mwangi in the wake of the Starstone's Fall and the long night. It is said that one of them- known to history only by her lion mask- discovered something so terrible she was forced to keep it from her comrades, and betray them to protect it. When the Ring of Nine Facets was forged, she abandoned her order and ascended on a column of light, where even Jatembe could not follow.
>Related to another player's backstory; Most of the lorerape I'm worried about is here.

>What're they doing?

His wife died in the fire the Book 1 antagonist directly caused.

>he's got a backstory that reads like something off a vampire the masquerade game
His back story seems fairly standard to me. It's solid and on the sad side, but not like over the top.

He literally ate people. user name one other character that ate other people. Worse than that he gained super demon patron powers after eating people.

So that makes two characters who lost someone to the fire now?

He was starving to death in a cave. That's at the level of "lovecraft" short story at the very least in terms of edge.

He also strangled another dwarf survivor to death because he thought they were a monster.

someone sounds like they're afraid a certain stunty is gonna fuck their waifu

IMO he's much more memeable than the sisters, especially with the autistic amount of effort that DHB has put into planning out his caravan route.

Seems like Nualia has some explaining to do!

Oh geez, is that what DHB was going for?

How do I make a STR 20 level 7 Brawler even more buff? Can't buy any big magical shit and I wanna keep just using my fists. I wanna hit shit harder and better.

>starving delirious dwarf strangles other dwarf to death after cave in
Spooky

I probably only remember the sisters because I game with one of the players.

I can't speak for the man, but it's what I read it as.

Not gonna lie, I kind of want to say my character had a crush on Nualia, or at least met her often before the churchfire stuff happened.

His back story reads much more Lovecraft protagonist than it does VtM. A guy forced to be desperate on that level and freaking out constantly is very Lovecraft.

Jokes on you I'm a fag.

>Autism is good
I guess. This is /pfg/ I would expect no less.

>caravan route
What now?

Three; I'm working on an aasimar who was found with and raised alongside Nualia, and while he's gonna be *max edgy* classwise he's going to actually be a fairly chill and caring character who gets a little *to* into using his strange powers sometimes.

I mean planning out Caravan routes in such detail is commendable.
I mean two guys seem pretty connected to the plot of Burnt Offerings
>Sword Lord was married by Tobyn, lost his wife the fire
>Master Blaster was best friends with Tsuto and also lost his mother to the fire.

He mapped out his caravan route, his time spent town to town, and his time trading. It's in the last thread.

>Jokes on you I'm a fag.
Who ever said NTRDwarf was straight? Your Husbando isn't safe either buddy.

Isn't a big part of the game about Caravans? Isn't the fact he planned this out a good thing for the game?

Yes, but the part of the game is the party's caravan to Minkai, somewhere he's never gone. They're not even going to touch the route he had.

Caravan rules are pretty retarded.

It's like autobattle in total war. You end up losing bullshit that should have been a cinch.

Do professions come into it at all? Like Driver, Porter, Sailor, etc.?

Yes. Certain roles require certain skills.

Unless you know spells, then it;s just assumed you can do anything.

Jesus christ that is autistic. How does one know that much about Golarion?

Yes, actually! The Caravan has roles that include everything from entertainer to driver.

>How does one know that much about Golarion?

Lad, it takes years and years of reading the wiki and various companion novels. His route sounds autistic but I basically know the ins and outs of every crevice of Land of the Linnorm Kings by this point too.

Where did he learn this? I needed to map how my character got to sandpoint and it seems like this could be helpful

That's just backstory, man.

An odd level of detail, but whatevs. Doesn't hurt anything.

Only backstory I got so far for Aranha is that she's a spider because her dad's a wacko alchemist or something of some variety who gave her that power while she was a kid and she spent so long in that form she's literally forgotten how to turn back.

He's still alive and well. He mostly spends his retirement being a grumpy old man and occasionally turning into a bigass monster to scare small children who won't keep the fuck off his lawn.

He's a hit on halloween though.

You came from Osirion, right?

You would have more than likely taken a ship to Absalom, which made a stop in Andoran and Cheliax before exiting the Arch of Aroden and into the Arcadian Sea, heading north for either Korvosa or Magnimar (ideally Magnimar, as Sandpoint is under it's jurisdiction.)

>Yes, actually! The Caravan has roles that include everything from entertainer to driver.
Doesn't NTRDwarf also have a bunch of professions?

You can only take one role at a time.

NTRDwarf has Breadth of Experience. He can make any profession check untrained.

outsider here, what is this even all about

How did you remember that? Are you a wizard? Are you keeping track of my shitty character for some reason?

Uhh, have you even read the Jade Regent Player's Guide?

I'm currently building a Sphere Cleric of Ragathiel specialized in fighting undead. Outside of Life, what other Sphere is good for fighting the undead?

You spent like 3 threads shitposting about and constantly posting scantily clad faggots with cat ears.

Sorry for the delayed response; I'm the one that made Anja, the girl that summons horrible eldritch abominations.

They aren't the only one!

I have a good memory and you kept posting about your Osirioni catguy with cat pictures all the ding dong time.

user that is a catgirl, he was posting catguys.

How old is he? Isn't Ameiko only in her 20s!

There's a campaign that /pfg/ has latched on to called Rise of the Jade Regent, first book of Rise of the Runelords then into Jade Regent. It doesn't even open for applications until January, but the GM said he's open to lewds, and since we're all degenerates we fixated. Current top meme is the dwarf with +22 to diplomacy at level 3 who we're calling NTRDwarf for his powers of seduction.

Yeah, but his were muscly.

>Isn't Ameiko only in her 20s!

Ameiko is 18 at the start of Burnt Offerings, she's 22 in Jade Regent.

Ah, looks cool m8.

Yes. Inter-species romance is weird, especially when he mentions that this dwarf has watched Ameiko grow up.

>user that is a catgirl, he was posting catguys.
Dog, actually. Wan~

Yeah, but I just find this picture too cute not to post!

For more clarification he is made by DepressedHomebrewer, one of the local productive homebrewers He made the Broken Shackles Martials in the OP. He has said he isn't planning on NTRing anyone or likely even going to participate in ERP, but that's what makes it better!

Wait, are there any catgirls applying for the campaign?

I'll admit I was shitposting with cats but I didn't post about my character for more than like, 2 or three posts in a couple of threads a while back. I didn't think the character was that memorable. Now I've made a bad impression on the thread. RIP

>Yes. Inter-species romance is weird, especially when he mentions that this dwarf has watched Ameiko grow up.
Has he said it was going to be romantic? I thought the relationship system didn't require romance?

So far I've only seen a wolfgirl, but you never know.

>Dog, actually. Wan~

Does a wolf-girl that spends most of her life in Sandpoint become a dog-girl? Does she start to wag her tail and woof or whine?

He's said that he's going to pursue relationships with all the NPCs, then pick one to go for romance when the time seems right. Which only worsens the NTR meme.

I may just have a good memory.

>but I didn't post about my character for more than like, 2 or three posts in a couple of threads a while back

Pathfinder General is sharp when it wants to be, particularly where RotJR characters are concerned.

...

That doesn't sound that bad. Heck he can fuck my waifu anytime!

No, dogs and wolves are different. Much like wood elves won't be high elves for sitting inside a tea parlor all day.

Someone needs to explain to that cat he's putting on his belt wrong.

He's just so convincing!

Thank you both, god bless. That sounds rad as hell.

You can get a very well-behaved wolf-girl, though!

I'm still confused. Is the only think he's done is have +22 to diplomacy?
