I miss NTRDwarf guys. NToRacle is too good at it. This isn't fun anymore.

Retoasting here so I can get more advice. How do I make a good backstory? What level of autism is needed?

>Devastating Momentum

>Add an additional 40 points of damage on a successful charge attack and the attack ignores the target's damage reduction and potentially stuns the target.
What the actual fuck is this?

I know that a lot of the people in this general play Fire Emblem.

What would St. Elimine's Domains/Portfolio be if I were to port her to PF?

Reference:
fireemblem.wikia.com/wiki/Elimine

Hey are there any Strange Aeons pdfs anywhere these days?

>How do I make a good backstory? What level of autism is needed?

Focus on the big picture until you need to focus on one or two life-changing events.

Always be sure to include bits that allude to the character's personality or goals.

Always look for opportunities to flex your writing skills, don't be afraid to use synonyms!

If you're going for cliche, *own it.* Go big or go home.

DHB level autism minimum.

>What the actual fuck is this?

A 13th level boost?

Anyone familiar with the Super Genius archetype packages? How would you feel about the balance a "PoW 1-6" package and a "spheres low-caster" package?

...

>and the attack ignores the target's damage reduction
>bullrushing ghosts so hard you actually banish them
Now that's pretty fucking metal!

Its a level 7 maneuver.

>Its a level 7 maneuver.

No, it's 7th level.

There are 9 levels, for something like a Warder you gain a new level every other level.

At level 3 you have 1st and 2nd level maneuvers, at level 5 you have 1st, 2nd and 3rd, etc.

I have no experience with spheres, but I do like the idea of path of war 1-6 with say a selection of maybe 4 schools would be pretty gud.

I'd suggest using other backstories as inspiration on how long or how detailed your character's past should be. If you read a backstory and think, "Man, I like this" than you should probably emulate it.

>Initiator Level: Some maneuvers effects depend on the initiator level, which is usually the character's level in the class that provides access to martial maneuvers. The word "level" in the maneuver lists always refers to initiator level.
I'm confused.

Since it's only a joke anyway I looked into ways of taking the diplomacy thing TOO far.

First of all if I no longer care about his age/other stats I can get 2 more just by getting his charisma to 22. The sacrifice his level 3 feat for skill focus.

Then spend every penny he has on a Knowledge necklace that allows for a once a day +10 insight bonus (insight being one of the few things, besides profane and luck, he doesn't have).

This brings up to a flat +60 once a day to diplomacy at level 3. At this point to go much farther will require multiclassing out of Oracle likely for odds and ends untyped bonuses (like dipping into shaman to add wisdom as well as charisma).

Does anyone have that one pdf with suggestions to fix or differentiate the various martial styles in Pathfinder?

For the initiator I was thinking a choice of up to 3 disciplines based on the skills available to the class. Would keep it flexible but still thematic.

>the NTR build.

What about a PFS legal variation?

Oh, I've actually done this!
>St. Elimine of Eturia
>Lawful Good deity of mercy, light, and heaven
>Domains (and Subdomains): Air (Lightning), Glory (Honor), Good (Archon), Healing (Restoration), Law (Archon), Protection (Purity), Sun (Light).

Pic semi-related, a GBA-era work-in-progress sprite for Elimine.

That would require not being gestalt, get rid of aging, lose the magic items, and a lot more. It would cut it by quite a bit. Just shave off the things not PFS legal and you still have +40.

Overall I like archetype packages a lot better than I do variant multiclassing. VMC is total shit.

What does listening to someone with that high of a diplomacy check even feel like?

That's awesome! Thanks a lot

like Oversize Oracle Cock. OOC

Has anyone run numbers on the Avowed?
I seem to be running into a problem of blatant-power-difference in the various shapes.

First, reflex-half means many things will be immune to the AoEs, but that's not the main worry here: The weapon-boosters are disproportionately better than other single target shapes. The boosters scale well/normally, while the regular pulses are actually low on damage: a 3 beam barrage at level 12 no longer allows you to be a 'damage dealer', putting out an average of 81 damage vs average monster health of 160, or 99 if we take deadly aim. AoE is moderate; triple-purchase wrath at the same level would give 54.

Take Aether Barrage vs Aether Rounds (two versions here: Crossbow; the lowest end of a barrage, and Firearm, which allows you to keep the vs-touch factor). The two beams are attractive at level 1, but...

Lv 5
>Barrage III: 3 beams @ 3d8 = 40.5 avg
>Crossbow+1 w/Rounds III @ 1d10+1+3d8 = 40 for two shots(haste or rapid), 60 for 3 (rapid+haste)
>Firearm: As crossbow, but vs touch
>Longbow: As crossbow but +STR and manyshot possibility

Level 12:
>Barrage IV: Still 3 beams @ 6d8+Deadly Aim (-3 +6) = 99
>Crossbow+3 w/Rounds IV @ 1d10+3+6d8+DA6 = 41.5/shot = 166 if all 4 hit
>Longbow/Firearms: upgrade as above

The main problem seems to be the usual multistacking of both enhancement bonuses on weapons and getting a stat to damage, in addition to being able to fire off even more attacks.

Similarly, Aether Channel with an explosive may be a lot more powerful than Blast, either against a primary target at 1-2 purchases, or dependent on the actual explosive used (oversized grenades perhaps) even at 3 purchases, and that's before the possibility of tossing several out (3 purchases also gets an extra attack even without haste there) compared to just the single blast.

It would be good to have methods, or at least equipment later on, that allows one to focus on other shapes for a different method/option compared to yet-more-mystics/magus/etc

Slowly the rest of the world fades away as the speaker's voice slips deep into your mind. You forget about the tavern and the mingling voices and the bard singing the same song as he did last week. The words creep ever deeper into your mind speaking to parts of you that you didn't even know existed. More sweet than the nectar of bees his voice fills you with a sweet feeling. The orator's tongue slides deftly in his mouth like an alchemist's silver. You always agreed with the man. You knew he was right before he even opened his mouth. You feel silly for ever having thought anything different.

Don't forget double-pistols/crossbows; you can get a lot more hits in on Aether Rounds 3 that way. Meanwhile your circus is barely hitting a dozen targets in a 30ft radius that you need centered on you. Wrath *4 is probably the best area effect there

All I'm reminded of reading this is
>Some of us like our dicks attached to MEN you raging bitch!

So I'm thinking.

If I were to make Gundad.

Cybersoldier Fighter for that sweet cyber-arm power (Taken as him not trusting his own hands anymore since he's getting old)

And then Glass-Eye Gunmage for maximum I'VE GOT YOU IN MY SIGHTS.

I went back and looked at the DAD archetype and sadly it's not all that great. As nice as it would be to have DAD as one's class, it doesn't really fit at all.

I'm thinking maybe he's a vet from the Worldwound...

Tell us about what made you think about that connection user?

>If you are a single-class character, your initiator level equals your level in the class that provides access to martial maneuvers. If you lack any martial disciple levels, your initiator level is equal to 1/2 your character level.

wait nvm i take it back im dum

Well done, friend. Understanding your failings is the first step to overcoming them.

How should I run a war focused campaign? Examples of how people run sieges and castle assaults? Or how people run mass battles with thousands of people running around. I dunno.

Adventurers are special forces, they fight small scale skirmishes and do infiltration shit. They're not on the frontlines, ever.

I'd base it on the Thirty Years War in Europe; basically a clusterfuck of mercenary armies rolling around for a few decades. At least in terms of what actually happens.

For actual gameplay, the party should be a small elite group of skirmishers, scouts, or battlefield heroes. you can pre-determine how battles will develop, and how the actions of the PCs affect said outcomes. Write Scenarios, but not specific sequences.

On a direct mechanical level, avoid showing shitloads of dudes - that just slows everything down. Instead, focus on the heroes and what they encounter, and remember to change it up. Variety is what'll keep the players invested.

Old screencaps on Veeky Forums actually. Basically diplomancer bard uses typical insane-diplo-bonuses to insta-convert some queen into helping her with some massive ritual that would eliminate men and turn all women into dickgirls (this would eliminate half the party of course)

The party berserker (also female) does not take it very well.

In a war focused campaign, the adventurers are either at the very forefront of battle (I.e. the Avengers) or at the backstage in secret (Deus Ex)

Either way, avoid mass combat as much as possible.

How about trying to make a character rather than
>How do I maximize my magical realm

>making a version of a character in pathfinder
>magical realm

???????????

nigga do you know what magical realm means

Adventurers are siegebreakers at the very least. You can't have a castle or a thousand soldiers without the adventurers on the scene staring at that and either demolishing the entire place outright, systematically raping everything within its walls after infiltrating, or using poison gas to melt a dozen regiments in one giant atrocity.

Some mid-high leveled adventurers may even be able to solo a few hundred such soldiers at a time, unless a fellow player starts demanding you hold back because someone else getting rid of all the mooks "is no fun for anyone else" (namely him).

Bro, literally neither of the characters I've got regarding this thing are at all Magical Realm.

And both of them have Fighter on one half of their gestalt, if I were trying to optimize, I'd be doing a fucking godawful job of it.

Although both of them are fairly alright damage-wise.

Something tells me you don't...
Do you need the original whizzard image?

... anons... magical realm in this case would be implying that was sounding kinda "old-man-fetish", and 'maximizing' it under that context has nothing to do with optimizing an actual build.

Yes, Magical realm is about fetishes

Someone making gundad is not a fucking fetish you stupid fucking mouthbreathing neckbeard worthless sack of flesh. Remove yourself from this fucking earth. You are so fucking stupid that it literally triggers me. Like seriously. Shove the gunbarrel in your mouth and blow your fucking brains out you worthless fucking retard. You're so fucking stupid. So goddamn fucking stupid you goddamn fucking retard.

You gotta learn the difference between fetishes and memes, user.

Edgy

Nothing fucking edgy about it.

You should actually, sincerely consider killing yourself. You are so fucking useless you don't know the difference between a fetish and meme. What purpose do you serve on this earth? For the good of humanity so you don't spread your worthless, retard genes you should off yourself. I mean the chances of that were small in the first place, but lets face it, 0% would be preferable.

>Nothing fucking edgy about it.

user, calm down. You getting mad is what he wants. It's what they always want.

Mmm. Yeah. Thanks for the gameplay tips. I'll have the players doing both specialist stuff like disabling defenses, assassinating leaders, sabotaging stuff, all kinds of neat stuff. No mass combat mechanics, just players running around like firefighters in battle.

For the mechanics of warfare, I'm aiming for an early Medieval ages tech era, so I'm trying to research how Medieval warfare was done. I've read a bunch of material on the Thirty Years War and that time period, so I know all about that. Loadsa mercenary companies wondering about, half of the army deserting or dying of disease before reaching anywhere, foraging, raping and pillaging for supplies was not just the norm, but necessary. (One guy of his time calculated that a 50,000 man army with artillery and cavalry, and camp followers would have needed a supply train 5 days of marching long.)

But for Medieval warfare, I'm trying to see how it all works. No gunpowder, lack of literacy and education. Would populations have developed to the levels needed to support massive sustained warfare, approaching Thirty Years War levels? A lot of little questions like that.

Oh, and magic, flying and, "specialist," units would be deployed in specific situations, I guess.

user why are you so mad? You're going a little overboard, if you wanna debate something talk about what's wrong. Ad hominem attacks aren't very helpful in this case.

i just want the normies to leave user. They out themselves with their misuse of memes and it disgusts me.

there's no debate here. This stupid nigger doesn't understand the difference between a meme and a fetish.

Aether rounds/channel are clearly the best damage options by a mile, but that felt fairly normal to me because they take a lot more feat/money/stat investment than the others.

For Aether Rounds to even be functional you need to sink two feats into PBS/Precise Shot and then you'd probably want to go the whole way with rapid shot, deadly aim, and manyshot too.

Aether Channel doesn't let you be CHA-sad compared to aether blade; you can take the desna feat but that's still a feat down and you're locked into a nonreach weapon with 1d4 more damage than the aether blade.

Aether Barrage... does seem kind of underwhelming but it's relatively investment-free, I guess. It could do with some buffs.

Man, I just wanted to make a grumpy old man with a gun, cyber-arms and a magic targeting visor.

What went wrong?

a retard who doesn't understand the difference between magical realm and memes.

Memes can be fetishes and fetishes can be memes. They aren't mutually exclusive. Someone could very easily have thought you had meant the gay "dad" fetish stuff and not soldier 76 dad memes.

there were no dad fetish stuff, it was all 76 memes in this thread and the last

in short, that 'someone' is a fucking troglodyte.

Some guys are gay. They hear daddy and think "Choke me daddy" if they don't know what 76 is and they hear dad they're gonna use what they know to interpret it. In short, he's just a little dumb, a little gay, and doesn't know about overwatch but he isn't malicious.

You make me inexplicably happy for some reason, Sandlerposter.

Keep on keepin' on.

So I'm not super experienced with optimization. In last thread what level of optimization would that oracle be considered?

Stupid level.

If you'd ended it at "is not a fucking fetish" we could have sided with you, but now you're in nothing but loud denial the same way those bible-belt right-wingers scream louder against gays the deeper they are in the closet.

Also stop assuming you're only talking to a single person, it's unsightly. There are 23 different posters in this thread.

Is it a joke then?

We can hope user.

Problem is you can invest quite a bit as well into the others, but even with equal or less investment they're better. With nothing but Rounds 3 (as opposed to barrage 3) you've got free reloading, and at BAB 6+ will arguably deal similar or higher damage to the triple beams, only gaining more and more if you actually invest.

Either way, you could say the problem is the ceiling and ability to invest; one based on attacks, the other one has a very strict one.

Similarly, Blast and wrath: Blast is quite simply better unless you'll go far enough to buy a fourth level of Wrath, at which point the fact that it sticks around flips the two right back around. the level 4 and the radius(the height's more of a gimmick) are the only differences for the most part.

Not certain if aether lance can be an okay replacement for a proper charge; someone else will have to run the numbers for chargers since I know them not too well.

Not sure if Aether Equilibrium is worth anything; the target limit becomes moot when you're halving your range with it anyways; you may get more out of a full attack using just rounds unless you're surrounded by lowest-hp things (but then why not just use regular circus)

I could see the point with firearms (touch) and longbows, since a sling or crossbow will have way lower accuracy to compensate.

But if the damage numbers from up there are accurate for the aether pulse, then it does seem that the problem is with abilities like barrage are not growing fast enough; which was a serious problem with the 3.X warlock as well.

Maybe some upper limit for boosted attack numbers though for Rounds and Blade: it's fine under normal BAB, but when you add in haste through manyshot, getting nearly twice the attacks is what destabilizes things. Maybe lower the pulse's damage by one die per two attacks (round up) over your iteratives?

Like, Pulse 5d8, 3 attacks from BAB, or 4d8 to 4-5 attacks, or 3d8 to 6-7 if you've got haste AND rapid-shot AND manyshot covering you?

Something like that I guess.

Can anything good come out from a Elder Mythos PC?

Do you mean mechanically, or fluff-wise?

Not for the GM

Eh, both.
More often than not you damage your wisdom to damage other people's wisdom or more.
In the latest Horror manual, bards get a Chtulhu-Warped Limited Wish at 13 too.

so I am playing around with creating magical items and I was wondering if there is any way to increase a magical items saving difficulty?

So, Bloodline Mutations for sorcerers can replace your bloodline powers for benefits. For example, Blood Havoc replaces your first level power.
But what if you're a crossblooded sorcerer? When you have the option to take your 2nd power, and you choose it to be the first level power the bloodline you didn't choose, can you then replace it again with Blood havoc a second time?

Well, here's a neat thing you may not have noticed. The Dark Tapestry shaman spirit has Alien Summons, which is great for a summoner-type character because it allows you to get some ridiculous bonuses to your summoned creatures - +4 to all stats, +2 natural armor, and immunity to crits/precision effects is nothing to sneeze at, and stacks with Augmented Summons for a total of +8.

It gets even better though. If you take the Spirit Summoner archetype, you get Shaman hexes as a summoner, and if you have a Dark Tapestry spirit you can take Alien Summons, and watch as it applies to your eidlon (The equivalent of 25 goddamn evolution points plus a unique ability that would cost at least 3 if it even had a price). It does lock you into Aberrant Eidolons, but that's not even too bad in and of itself. An Aberrant Eidolon with the Aberrant base form somehow manages to have Tentacle Mass, Grab (Tentacle Mass) and a bite attack with absolutely no other investments, meaning you can get away with a grapplebeast far more powerful than a standard player could ever hope to achieve if they haven't gone for an Aberrant Aegis. It's certainly the strongest grappler in 1pp once you take the Final Embrace feat on your eidolon.

This is actually what I'm doing in RotJR.

>Crossblooded sorcerer
It's like you're stabbing yourself in the foot, then twisting the knife.
Why would you do that?

That's... that's legal?

Yes. Nothing even stopping it.

Now, one thing to note about spirit summoner - it takes away the Summon monster SLA of the summoner, which is the entire thing that makes summoner so fucking ridiculous.

this is actually a good point for a lot of people (myself included) because we want less emphasis on summong boat loads of shit and more on the eidolon.

Summoners are always banned in my games. What does 1pp stand for?

First party product.

Why do you ban them?

I'm aware that it isn't super duper optimal, but as a full caster, I can afford that.
The real question is can i become a silly nuke by doubling down on Blood Havoc.

Something a lot of people fail to realize is that the problems with playing a crossblooded blaster (that is, less spells known) is that blasters often just want to use their higher level slots for metamagicked spells anyways. Take a human sorcerer and you're even mitigating the lack of spells known.

I ran an Elemental (Air)/Draconic (Electricity) crossblood a little while ago, and she was capable of absolutely silly amounts of damage while never really feeling less versatile than standard sorcerers.

Does Gift of Claw and Horn for Lunar Oracles stack? It says you can use it a number of times per day, and doesn't say explicitly you can't use it to get multiple natural attacks.

I don't ban them, my DM does. And because of shit like user just posted I guess? I also remember hearing about some crazy shit about wearing your eidolon as armor.

Yeah, I've played a bog standard Draconic Blaster Sorcerer before. Really, once you can cast fireball, you're pretty well okay on your main function of 'mobile artillery platform', which is why spells known tax doesn't bother me.

that would be the synthesist summoner and its actually worse than the normal summoner

Then yeah, just tossing Blood Havoc on there is going to make you even more killy.

Frankly, that's stupid. The shenanigans above make the eidolon better, but that's it; you lose summon monster (which is what makes summoner so powerful) and synthesist (The 'wear your eidolon' thing) is actually less powerful than baseline summoner.

on top of that, the class already got nerfed by Unchained stuff. Just use the unchained version, it's good but it's not a class that can do basically everything anymore, particular if you go for an archetype that trades out Summon Monster.

She wouldn't even allow the unchanged one. So how is synthesist weaker? Playing as a powerranger sounds fun as shit.

because you're losing action economy.

In simple terms, a normal summoner can keep casting spells while his eidolon wrecks shit.

A Synthesist can only either wreck shit, OR cast spells, he can't do both at the same time like a normal one can.

The Synth's advantage is a DEFENSIVE one, since he effectively pools his and his eidolon's hp together, but in exchange, can do less at once.

Normal summoner has two bodies - the player character and the eidolon. while the summoner is casting buffs on allies or healing that dumb schmuck who always runs in, the eidlon is still doing its thing, playing like a better fighter (not that that's hard).

Synthesist gives up the second character. One character means one turn per round, rather than two.

Okay thank you. I would still play a Synth over a normal summoner for the flavor.

I checked that source but its still not giving me a reason.

for the answer to the question of "Why is this banned?" it's because it emphasizes the summoner. It's stupid, but it's more acceptable for the summoner to have a minion that can tear shit apart than them being able to do it themselves.

because people complained

Eyy Veeky Forums I'm about to play Kingdom Builder with my group, and it all seems good and fun.

Except we're all shit at Kingdom Building.

Has anyone here played Kingdom Builder? What do you at the start? Anything to focus on?
