Infinity is a 28mm scale futuristic skirmish game by Corvus Belli where HVTs live a life of luxury, with beautiful cities to stand still and get shot past, observed and inoculated in.
I'm trying to work out colour scheme for my Bakunin, are there any of those multilayer PNG files of Bakunin units?
Jordan Brown
How is the Aleph biker girl?
Gabriel Scott
She's good if you use her carefully, and dead if you don't.
Asher Smith
If only mobility actually protected you in some way.
Blake Phillips
It enables hiding like a little bitch until it's time to attack. Then you set up smoke, drive across the board and shank somebody important. Not too hard.
Ayden Gomez
...
Easton Robinson
Source of pictures.
Also, Bostria's eyes tell the telling story of how overworked everyone at CB must be.
Lincoln Hill
So how's the rpg?
Noah Fisher
I know we mock them for the siestas, but think of how rough it would be to sleep for sixteen hours every day.
Easton Adams
It looks great, but development is going at a snail's pace because asshole writers keep doing shit like writing about how awesome the hover cars and hologram statues in Ariadna are and getting called to rewrite. Seriously, what the fuck, guys? If you know anything about Infinity, you should know better.
The mechanics themselves are roll under, generate successes with emphasis on theater of the mind. A lot of shit is abstracted, but it looks like it will generate action movie style sessions.
Hudson Green
Isn't a lot of the fluff essentially already found in the existing rule books? Why reinvent the whee for the existing bits?
Christian Ramirez
Why is scaring your opponent that you bite his head a bad thing?
Elijah Jones
My guess is that they hire third party writers with no knowledge about the setting to write "Some sci-fi stuff about how cool this planet named __ is"
Nicholas Johnson
Do you think Japanese people in Yu Jing are bombarded with crap like this every time they turn on the TV?
Does the Japanese War Crimes Museum on Shenteng stock rape-themed porn in the gift shop.
Xavier Smith
Nah, PanOceanian filth is the target for hatred now. Remember when PanO tried a full scale invasion of YJ and then pussied out when they didn't immediately win, before getting away with nothing but a slap on the wrist? Those were good times.
Oh, and aliens too I guess. Everyone can join together in hating aliens.
Josiah Brooks
Now I'm imagining a Yu Jing movie where a kung fu master rips an Orc trooper in half with his bare hands and I can't stop laughing.
Noah Rogers
>Everyone can join together in hating aliens We're just trying to bring a little order to the galaxy. Who can blame us for that?
Sebastian Edwards
And then he wakes up in his shrivled asian hut?
Hunter Hernandez
The "start killing off humans indiscriminately so they think you want to drive them extinct and fight back as hard as they can while building up generations of resentment" plan is kinda shitty desu, you might want to consider a different method. The EI needs a better PR department, Sygmaa being legitimately surprised that they weren't all rounded up and slaughtered for being the wrong species says a lot about its reputation.
James Turner
How does one fight Yu Jing as Aleph? I've only played 2 games and lost both.
James James
I'm imagining anti-PanOceania propogandas film set during the NeoColonial wars with all the ridiculous shit in 's video and I can't stop laughing.
Some shit wed be likely to see:
1. Kung Fu girl slaughters dozens of Fusiliers with a bow and arrow.
2. A Kung Fu master destroying a TAG with his bare hands.
3. All that anti-PanO pornography that implies that all PanOceanians want to invade Yu Jing so they can rape their women.
Brandon Flores
Thing is, the EI does want to extinct all the species, just not the ones that have AI technology. It apparently just fucking melts entire star systems to use as fuel if the denizens didn't have good tech.
Samuel Adams
If you aren't useful to the EI, the EI will find a use for you.
Ian Gomez
>TFW Yu Jing kung fu masters in game can 100% kill dozens of fusiliers and one TAGs with nothing but melee
David Hernandez
That depends on what kind of Yu Jing you're facing. A Daofei/Hac Tao tag team is going to be countered differently to a Hsien smoke combo supported by Tiger Soldiers. What are you up against, and what tools do you have at your disposal?
For general advice, YJ tends to pack a lot of HI and often remotes as well, so hacking can be useful. Improving your tactics is always good for winning too.
Nolan Howard
So other than the whole rape thing, it would be a documentary.
Angel Miller
Last time i played him he had a lot of heavy infantry and was able to face me in Close quaters due to TO ninjas.
Jose Jenkins
Yeah or it "harvests" entire species so it can use their DNA to create new Batroides, Drones and Aspect Units.
Zachary Lee
Or keeps systems around to harvest "tool species" from like the Nexus.
Bunch of mountain farmers that every now and again give up their choice young to die in space.
Colton Wood
I thought the sun destroying stuff was mostly limited to the unbelievably enormous fuck up that was the Nemesis War. iirc species with no real potential just get put to work as labourers or something else unpleasant, only driven extinct if their continued existence ends up being more trouble than it's worth.
Besides, that's not our problem. We've got an AI so the EI has to keep us around. We've got that transcendence potential it wants.
Owen Ortiz
Fucking spaniards, manga when?!
Elijah Nguyen
>That's not our problem, we aren't them. Just let them genocide everyone else Your heart is lacking in JUSTICE.
Luis Turner
It slowed down due to publishers and stores being deeply confused about the miniature being packed with a manga.
Luke Wright
Justice is a myth. I'd rather support the asshole who wins than the asshole who loses, all the human nations are devoid of justice too.
Aaron Cook
New releases!
Jacob Brown
>tactical brofist on the Kaauri I can dig it.
Michael Taylor
Someone please, for the love of St. Pete and Santa Claus, get that fucking stick out of the shotgun marauder's ass. Like, holy fuck, get some flexibility.
Jordan Parker
>We've got an AI so the EI has to keep us around. We've got that transcendence potential it wants.
That's a double-edged sword. On the plus side we are useful to it, however on the negative side the EI will immediately put our entire civilization to work creating a new Artilect and the EI can be a harsh master towards Transcendence-capable species.
Any number of unpleasant fates await us if we fail. From having our DNA harvested and used to create a new line of Batroides to ending up as slave labor in Morat munitions factories.
Josiah Ross
>We've got an AI so the EI has to keep us around That might be the Human Sphere's biggest weakness. EI could hack ALEPH and really have the entire human species by the short hairs.
Leo Wood
not all of it, later Ariadna would save the day, just in time to wrestle the interspace from the alian invesion. Back to back Russians and their ally. We would have the 4th motherland war.
Gavin Nguyen
Don't forget that the Nomads aren't hooked into ALEPH either and have arguably the best data security in the Sphere. They have literally been fighting ALEPH and its agents for decades in Cyberspace.
So it would be Ariadna and the Nomads save the day.
Joshua Wood
But ALEPH runs the gates no?
EI could shut down the gates, isolating everyone. Divide and conquer.
Unless the Nomads have a way around using the ALEPH controlled gates that I don't know about.
Sebastian Nelson
Kind of. ALEPH controls the Circulars which it could shut down. The Wormholes, however are naturally occurring and would still be there.
Has it ever been explained why the Circulars are the only ships able to pass through wormholes safely?
Nolan Rivera
If we play our cards right we could probably become a mainstay of the Hegemony like Exrah or Morats. Even if we fuck up the artilect, the EI is unlikely to wipe out an advanced species in control of a dozen star systems on a whim. Anyone can be a slave or a proto-slave. Making a race capable of casual interstellar travel and making invisible mechs into batroid stew would be a waste, transcendence or no.
You want a species that would be used to make batroids, look at Antipodes. Make the dogface disease airborne instead of requiring bites and make dogfaces completely psychotic upon birth, you've got yourself a really scary batroid.
Brandon Torres
Why are the Devil Dogs worth 23 points if they have the same stats and less weapons than a cameronian, which is also worth 23 points? And let's not bring up the Antipode, he has his own separate cost of 7.
Gabriel Wood
Better ARM value.
Logan Bennett
I would rather have grenades and double chain rifles. I have yet to see a devil dog live any longer than a cameronian.
Carter Stewart
The points costs for G :Sync teams are a bit different. The team costs 23. So the Devil Dog roughly costs 16 and the Antipode 7. Cool?
Aiden Robinson
Ah, I actually checked Army and saw you were already factoring that in when you claimed they cost 23. In this case, the designers believe having the benefits of a Sync trooper activating with you costs that much, even if you also pay for the pup
Ian Morales
Okay, from now on every shotgun troop has Foxtrot girl pose.
Asher Kelly
It's less offensive than that statue.
Jayden Gomez
White and Red. One eagle . One team. Only thing we need is wings for every trooper, and 10 milion drones our Polish minister of defense promised to buy to check Russia in check. Would end up being so glorious.
Grayson Campbell
Awesome, now I can add the fucking Hunchback of Notre-Dame to my Celestial Guard team. I hope the backpack thing is a separate piece because it's simply awful.
On the other hand, MadTraps are adorable :3
Aaron Ross
>being intimidated by someone maintaining good posture, even in a dangerous situation
Ian Williams
Shit, I love new Haqq SMG. And marauders awesome.
Mason Perez
>No Ariadna, again
Tyler Long
>Fraacta Very good. Sygmaa units are very quickly becoming my favorite thing visually. I've used the bording shotgun gal as a Spitfire so far, so now I can worry about fitting three Fraacta into a list. Also, Maakrep when?
>Bashi Bazouk It's a nice mini, but I can't speak for the loadout.
>Marauders It's a shame there are no cuties in there, but other than that they look fitting for USAriadna. Maybe I'd switch the bodies of the shotgun guy and the HRL guy?
>Kaauri Sentinels I could have sworn this unit was released a while ago, but all Tohaa look the same to me.
>Defiant Truth Zhuang - Wonderful loadout on an okay mini with a shitty pose. Cute MadTraps. Leila - Great sculpt with a shitty KHD, but her gear is otherwise good enough. HVT - Reminds me of a disney villain for some inexplicable reason.
Alexander Myers
>I could have sworn this unit was released a while ago, but all Tohaa look the same to me. They were, but with different weapons.
Ryder Martinez
>first timer in tabletop >fuck up one soldier
It´s one of the basic Haqqislam LI from the Red Veil box. He´s supposed to be holding his rifle next to his eye, taking aim. It came out aiming somewhat upwards, and one hand (cast with the rifle+other arm, hast to be attached to an elbow which also has to be attached to the body) isn´t properly connected to the rifle.
If you look at it from a distance it´s OK (even though he seems to be aiming at someone a few steps up), but up close the wrist connection fuck up is quite obvious.
Does this kind of thing get better or worse after painting?
What do you do if you attach something wrong? Do you just rip it off while it´s not fully dry yet, add some extra glue and reattach? Wait until it´s dry and peel off the glue with a knife? Throw the whole mini into a cleaning solution to let all the glue dissolve and start from the beginning?
Jose Barnes
Just looked it up; you are of course right. But, in my defense, they look nearly the same. Like, excessively so: that's just a mirrored body and some changed arms. I assume the new kit had the sniper rifle and the smg?
Josiah Morgan
Think of it this way. The EI believes the human race to be worthy of ascendment or at least of high value to achieve that goal. And a way to bring out the full potential of a race is through war, sheer brutality and the fear of extinction. Through war mankind has achieved new inventions and innovations and made huge leaps in technology and many other fields, too long to list, benefiting the (surviving) nation in the long run. Ergo, the EI just wants the human race to further achieve a higher evolutionary standpoint through it's actions. That's at least my headcanon.
Christopher Evans
Is there a difference between profiles with weapon+weapon and weapon, weapon?
Gavin Smith
Bashi Bazouk and Defiant Truth are the winners for me. Leila is pretty much going to be in every list for me. May even replace the Barid.
>CG team it's barely a team for me. Really wish CB would do a CG box
>Bashi Bazouk The SMG option is far better than the that BSG they released a few months ago.
>Marauders It's REALLY a shame there aren't any qts, but I guess it's more sketch ideas for me. I really hope MM are not the same way.
Yes! If a Scavenger picks up a Weapon+Weapon, he get's both. Otherwise, he would have to choose or spend extra orders to pick up "weapon and weapon." Basically a Weapon+Weapon are integrated/underslung
Bentley Thompson
I think it's an ecomonics thing. Warships can FTL independently, but building a big cargo train can allow non-FTL ships to ride along.
Presumably, the FTL engine is very expensive.
Julian Turner
>khd >shitty
What? A WIP14 KHD has the advantage against 90% of hackers in the game, for only like 3 points, while being a specialist that can fight at sniping ranges. IMO, she's the best Dire Foe period.
Lucas Jackson
The only situation I can think of is the interaction with the Scavenger skill where you can loot a big composite weapon with a single roll, no differences otherwise.
Eli Hernandez
>Leila KDH is actually really damn useful especially with dat WIP14. Also she can easy Cybermask and easily walk in for a Sabotage as well as other hacking classifieds -Cybermask would also give surprise shot. She's pretty verstile both solo and in a fireteam (potentially).
Daniel Roberts
Stick it in the freezer for a while and break off the offending pieces. If that doesn't work, dunk it in Super Clean for a few days.
Asher Cook
It's not Minute*women*, user. You should know this.
Thomas Collins
>or spend extra orders to pick up "weapon and weapon." Doesn't work, he gets a new weapon he discards the previous scavenged one.
Oliver Jenkins
Adding to what they said about Scavenger, having a Light Shotgun and a Rifle + Light Shotgun (say, a Bandit looted a Ghulam) does not give the trooper +1 Burst bonus to Light Shotgun BS attack, because the weapons are not the same (one is a separate Light Shotgun and the other is underslung). It's silly but it's there.
Connor Cooper
To expand on this, any troop that doesn't have a female version concept art when introduced will not have females for the foreseeable future.
CB's design department is swamped, and they are taking every shortcut they can.
Leo Reyes
>There won't be a rifle + 2 shotguns
Julian Powell
What's the standard game size?
Tyler Collins
300 points
Adrian Rivera
300
Julian Miller
300 points on a 4x4 table
Blake Roberts
300 points, 6 SWC. Usually amounts to 7-15 models, but can go up into the 20s if you're Polish.
Eli Watson
This is how we did do
Henry Hernandez
>up into the 20s if you're Polish You misspelled 30s.
Isaiah Hughes
If you kick the named ones you can have a few points more for extra Kums.
Hi Damien
Aaron Jones
The army tool only lets you go to 40 before bugging out.
Lincoln Hall
Given that these are tohaa equivalent of robots, the sameness is justified.
Jackson Edwards
>regular orders bah
Camden Young
>6 specfire shots >20 models with shotguns rolling infiltration
That actually looks pretty terrifying, no specialists so bad in alot of its, but for a mission without specialists needed, it looks great
Thomas Campbell
Reminds me of that all Highlanders list titled England still won
Nathan Ross
You'll only get less than half with average rolls, but yeah it'd be a fun gimmick list.
Jonathan Ross
The impression I got was that FTL in Infinity is via Wormholes only a-la Interstellar. The wormholes are naturally occurring (the are always described as being "discovered" never "created") but they can be extremely dangerous to traverse.
Exactly why the Circulars are needed is never really explained. The core book has some passages that seem to imply that PanOceania and Yu Jing ships can pass through the wormhole directly, and yet the Nomad Motherships are described as docking with a Circular to transit through a Wormhole.
Maybe the RPG will clear it up.
Carter Garcia
AVA:Total is now AVA 8
Would this help or hurt the game?
Isaiah Scott
it does nothing for the game but limit janky gimmick lists, to appease people chasing polish shadows
Chase Collins
I don't think there are that many truly viable spam lists. Total becoming 8 means nothing most of the time.
Luke Brooks
It wouldn't change much. Here's one of the actual lists that spawned the Kurwaspam meme, Interplanetario 2015 winner.
I know there is a guy playing a 30 order Hungries list locally, but it's very much a gimmick.
Jaxon Morris
>I know there is a guy playing a 30 order Hungries list locally
Ian Lewis
>30 order Hungries We have some guy at the store, that plays like 25 grunts (proxied, obviously) and is the most annoying shit to fight. 30 sounds even worse. Does proxy them with Tyranids or something?
Zachary Gomez
Isn't it preorder only?
Justin Powell
>Poland gets flying drones to scare Russia >Russians just plant a few birches
Easton Lopez
Doesn't anyone else feel uncomfortable that the madtraps are standing on two legs, but have fucking hooves on their front legs? Like, fuck, those are specialized appendages for running with, why aren't you using them for running? What the fuck are these things achieving by being bipedal and having two stumps for hands?
Zachary Thomas
It doesn't even have a full set of hooves, like that little fucker has boots and then hooves up top
