First for Riptides are Tau's TEQ.

That's just the markings of the T'eq Sept.

That is a very informative info graph, but its not labeled.

Topkek. I wish I screencapped the post where someone realized it looks like sept markings and photoshopped them onto a Riptide.

Alright Veeky Forums, let's just for a moment, forget Riptides - how do I counter a Stormsurge?

Hard mode: No Grav, no tank shock.

>Orks are a melee race!
>I2

I know we all like to meme about that, but seriously, low initiative is part of Orks racial identity and shouldn't change.

How do we make Orks good in melee without buffing their Init?

What army do you play?

depends what army you're playing.

Those of you who got the collector's edition, how do you like it? What's your number?
I'm loving it and how beautiful it is. Subtle dubs in the form of 1212 here.

Thunderstrike Gauntlet

Make them incredibly durable so they can survive to swing

Fix their leadership so they can stay in combat

Wraithknights with dual heavy wraithcannons

Hey Veeky Forums, do you guys happen to know any books that revolve around the Adeptus Mechanicus? Story books, not just the two codices. I don't mind the era it is happening in, be it 30k or 40k, I just want some good Mechanicus literature.

orks are actually pretty good in melee, provided they can survive. the reason they aren't very competitive is because they die in huge numbers so easily

Starting Alpha Legion next week.

I don't even wanna talk about my current army.

Orks or nids I am guessing then

Try the Priests of Mars/Lords of Mars/Gods of Mars trilogy user

Don't know how good it is yet but there's one actually called Adeptus Mechanicus. You're going to have to look on shit library though.

It's nids

...

Wait, since when tank shock affects GKs?

Fuck, I need so many brimstone horrors, and they are only sold on that boardgame. Anyone know alternative minis that would work?

Some say that just convert nurglings, but I can't see how that would work, they are so clearly piles of shit instead of fire.

Normally it doesn't.

In the current draft FAQ it insta-gibs Stormsurges when they have their anchors deployed.

I don't wanna rely on that, though, because it'll probably get changed from all the Tau players moaning about it, just like they changed Dark Eldar (which, that one was a fair change).

I thought about something like they only die at initiative step 1 even if they're lost their lsat wound before that, unless they're instantdeathed.

D shooting/psychic powers

Youre supposed to greenstuff flames all over them except the eyes and mouth.

You could also try not running Brimstones because they're OP horseshit.

D shooting might be tough.

Psychic powers sounds solid. Are they easy to Shriek to death?

So 300 points of Tzeentch demons seems mandatory to make Thousand Sons lists work.

Are people still gonna get pissed at you bringing Magnus when everything else is garbage?

Brimstones are OP?

Yes, because Magnus is another level of OP entirely from even Wraithknights.

Maybe not if you run them on their own, but if you're getting them from splitting horrors then yeah, it's kind of absurd.

Alright, thanks for the quick response!

Give them good, cheap wargear.
They're shit at shooting, it's why they get assault 1 missle launchers for 5 points.
Allow boyz to take armour for cheaper and allow them to take burnas (with the shitty restriction removed) for 10 points.

Ah ok, I was planning on running them alone and was worried people would complain.

>because Magnus is another level of OP
He's 950 points minimum to run him as TS have no way of getting enough warp charges without demon support.

If you're mixing them in with TS it probably won't be an issue since TS are actually really BAD without daemon support.

If you're running pure tzeentch daemons, however... well, you're already one of the top 2 armies in that case so idk.

And with that 300 points of support he's completely invincible and spams mass D without any counters.

Meh, my orks can take him.

Have a 1000pt casual games night tomorrow and was planning on running this, is it viable? I went with a fluffy list and am worried it might not fare well.

This is so fucking dumb. Wtf are you supposed to do with this supplement. Cant run Magnus and cant run without him.

Mechanicum is by the author who did the X of Mars series and it's also good fun.

Also the only Horus Heresy novel I've read because Mechanicus.

...

I want to tank the user for naming my canoness the Kranoness in a thread not dying.

Hi, I'm new and starting DA ORKZ, i can't wait to start a fearsome WAAAGH!!

I went to my local GW and had a demo game and the staff told me about how funny the orkz are so I bought some. I've got:

Warboss
6 Nobz
Morkanaut
20 Slugga Boyz in Trukkz

I was told this was a deadly melee force, what should I get next?

Magnus will most likely solo what ever you play against.

Less shitty pasta.

...

I don't understand what you mean

The Morkanaut is a tough walker with a mean melee punch and my Nobz with kombi rokkitz and big choppas can threaten tanks with high strength shooting and krump enemies in melee

not baiting, just new

why is this thread so unhelpful?

Daily Reminder you shouldn't give a shit about the setting, the background, the fluff or anything. Just shut the fuck up and roll dice you autistic mantit babies.

>giving a shit about the game

New players don't pluralize with z nor use the word krump.

Neck yourself.

>he actually plays the game

orks iz already best

you can run anything you wantz and krump any army so there iz no advice to give

>Rolling your own dice
Pleb

The game is the weakest part of 40k.

for christ's sake stop using this website

Nah, I enjoy the social aspect of it. Have a very tight group though, only time I actually leave my house too.

The GW staff told me all about the fluff and I've played Dawn of War

When we played the demo game the staff guy said when you call a Waagh you should really get.into character, it makes the dice luckier

>The social aspect.
Which is not the game.

When is ed. 8 Coming?

Wrong. You shouldn't care about what a BL author says about the setting because who the fuck cares about the setting?

Just shut the fuck up and let Chaos win, unless you're an Imperialfag, then you at least get the honor of being killed by Chaos, while the other xenos races just act as jobbers.

>Imperialfags so mad they're dragging this shit into a new thread
Get out. You're literally proving that guy right.

>Someone bothered to make an article for a meme that died in the thread it was born

If you don't care about the setting just play Warpath.

>You're literally proving that guy right.
It's that guy posting it you idiot.

>How do we make Orks good in melee without buffing their Init?

Double the Wounds and Hull Points of all Ork models (except Grots).

Fits their fluff - Ork vehicles are covered in scrap metal, totems and trophies and other miscellaneous junk that can be blown off without affecting the vehicle noticeably, but they go down hard to shots big enough to just blow them apart. Similarly Orks are described as monstrously tough to bring down, except against weapons strong enough to blast or melt them to smithereens. Also gives the army an identity: whole army of multi-wound tough models that aren't particularly good at either shooting or combat, but have great survivability, except against very heavy weapons.

People forced that shit for days.

You must not have been around much back then. That meme dominated threads for a solid 6 days.

>he thinks it's the same guy
>he doesn't think it's one of the eternal shitposts going for (You)'s

Look at this post and tell me people don't bait. That's literally what the guy is doing.

No it's obvious false-flagging to bait people. Just fucking ignore it you faggot.

I guess that could be true for autist, but when I play the game with another person I am socializing with them.

No point in arguing though, everyone plays their own way.

>being this new

You could be social over another game, it's not a unique factor of 40k rules that makes you social.

Why is asking for advice baiting

I genuinely want some advice

Cheaper wargear and stikkbomms are now defensive grenades for that blinding small blast.

+1 Armour Save and +1Ld for every 5 models near them.

AoS orruks are a lot like that. Most of them, besides the very basic, lowest level ones have 2-3 wounds.

Savage Orruks are 2wpm, so are 'ardboyz, Brutes are 3.

It works really well.

Make all their charge attacks HoW

Viable? Yes.
Fair? No.

Unless your oponent is taking a Wraith Knight, Knight or a couple of riptides, fucking wind that in. Magnus is going to stomp everything and it won't be fun.

I kinda want to get this mentality out that having a single Magnus is "OP". It's not. He's the Thousand Son's TEQ.

>A group of 11 or more Orks in 'evy armour have terminator saves
Does this fix Orks?

Imperial Agents leak when? I need to know if my cheap psyker and Chimera psybolt spam is still useful.

Late friday, early saturday.

Same as the last two, it's like you people don't learn.

That's because there is no weapon kill, toughness or anything differentiating a unit from another other than the number of it's wounds and it's save.

rend and damage.

Sorry, I should have worded it better.

+1 Armour Save in general.

Separate rule is +1Ld for each group of 5 nearby. Not +1 Armour Save and +1Ld for every 5.

Piss the fuck off to >>/wsr/, or fucking wait like the rest of you cheap fucking bastards.

I'm not used to have GW that affect my army.

Witch Hunter player of old. Used to run Inquisitorial Storm Trooppers and count as SoB.

Sorry for not talking for Marine to Marine action like some kind of gay porno.

There might be teasers from GW over the next few days, but the real leaks are going to come from the review copies once their NDAs runs out on Saturday.

So? What stops you from killing 300 pts of Horrors first and finishing Magny after that?

You getting the new Canoness model?

>The daemons that managed to reach the Emperor suffered worst of all. The strongest, most savage of their kind, they swung weapons at a man who was no longer there, cleaving through the golden mist that swirled in His place. With thunder-cracks of psychic force, the golden warlord would appear at the beasts' backs, His flaming sword already buried in their spines.

Heh...nothing personnel, kid....

You can pretty safely start Magnus in reserves, its damn near impossible to table someone who has 300 points in pink horrors before Magnus shows up now.

Orks actually have one of the best units in the game for taking him down. Just spam Traktor cannons and tarpit him when he's on the ground.

So Magnus shows up, but he heve no warp charges to draw upon seve his own 5.

I don't get why people think Magnus won in WoM. He was driven off Fenris and couldn't finish off the wolves. Worse of all is that after the war concluded Logan was more determined and focused them ever after seeing Russ and witnessing the devastation of his home. This spurned him to head to Cadia and become the overall commander of the Imperial forces there.

It;s canonical that Logan led the Imperials to victory against Abaddon, halting the 13th Black Crusade in its tracks and preventing the Cadian Gate from falling. This means that Magnus directly caused the traitor side to lose by failing to finish off the wolves and by igniting the fighting spirit of Logan Grimnir.

Fuck off Carnac.

Just as planned...
