Planning on building some TS. Would anyone be opposed to using fantasy High Elf bits as decorations? I was mainly planning on using banner tops for cult symbols or staff heads, and some white lion pauldrons as crests on veterans/command squads.

As long as it's done well mixing bits is the point of it really. I'm using some HE seaguard bits for my Alphas (the sea serpent banner top bit), some DE swords for power swords and a bunch of other stuff.

I don't think any kit should be built stock, give your minis a personal touch.

I picked Imperial Fists in part because Dorn's unbending will and loyalty really appealed to me (and this is was before I found out how awesome Sigismund and Alexis Polux are, for different reasons). I really like the idea of doing your duty for the sake of duty, and then being honoured and rewarded for it (instead of seeking honour for its own sake).

According to the text, that's MkIV suit with just a MkIII helmet. Sure, it looks like MkIII torso on a MkVI legs with MkII arms and MkVII shoulder pads, but it's suppose to be MkIV.

Funny enough, that's what I'm going for with my DG, though the helmet will be the FW one.

The power scythe is 300% better than a Talon.

Chem hand flamer more or less equals the serpenta(better overwatch, more hits, and shred vs deflag and +1A for dual wielding)

The termi armor is basically artificer armor and a refractor field in one, but DS have the option for cataphractii for a 4++. Plus the termi armor gives relentless, sure they dont use it, but its still a bonus rule that they have.

Shrouded is in place of scoring, which is huge in 30K.

So it's a pretty close swap. Need to hone in their special rule, that may increase their points depending.

Since you're playing SoH you might want to invest in Drop Pods, following that if you still want to use Veterans as troops then look into kit-bashing a Maloghurst the Twisted mini and mixing it with the Orbital Assault RoW so you can have Veteran troops in Drop Pods. Give them Machine Killers instead of Resolve to make the most of the Meltaguns and Drop Pods.

Do the chargers come with hands? The ones I have didn't. So I don't think you'd have a hand size problem since you'd have to use the plastic hands with the combi bolters cut off.

What mks of armor were the most common for each legion? We're there any legions that did not have access to certain mks?

All legions had all marks. All legions used all marks. It's retarded for a military force not to use equipment provided to them.

Only exception is the MkVII, which came around at the very end of the Heresy and even then was mostly issued to loyalists on Terra. Some heretics might have snagged some for themselves, of course, but bulk would have gone to IF, BA and WS.

Maybe they were guard units. In 40k that's the use for the fearsome-looking relic MkIIIs, and on the defense of Prospero there wasn't too much room for maneuverability: it was a matter of frontal assault.
