The quests would range from simple slice-of-life stuff, to more complex and/or dangerous ones.

I always feel like there's like 5 people for every 1 OC maker.

There's about a 2:1 ratio between leeches who have never made any CYOA and actual people. But the ratio between currently active authors and everyone else is probably a lot worse than 1:5.

No. Making something is incredibly easy, everyone should do it at least once or twice so they get an appreciation for what goes into this. The entire reason why CYOAs are successful is because they are probably the easiest and fastest way to do anything of this sort in existence.
