What do you guys do with your old miniature boxes? I've got piles of cardboard packaging for my miniatures that are sitting there empty, but I don't know if I should throw them out or not
Cameron Thompson
If you really want to keep the boxes, flatten them and store them in plastic sleeves in a 3 ring binder. I used to do that with small boxes for LEGO. It works. Alternatively, just throw them in the trash, because they are trash.
Luke Cook
I kind of dig the lore and aesthetics / setting of 40K, but I don't have any real interest in playing the game. Don't have the time, cash, or players to really enjoy it, and I hate painting/storing miniatures.
What's the best place to start with digging into novels, source books, wikis, just to get the lore and the stories/characters? Particularly interested in the weirder, more grimdark Even Horizon type shit.
Julian Morales
FFG Roleplaying Games honestly. At this point it's the most fun you can have in the game, short of Kill Team.
Dominic Ortiz
What would be a good system for a beat 'em up like Double Dragon, Final Fight, or Streets of Rage?
Tyler Gomez
Hey this is a pretty good idea. I'll try that, and if I still don't need them later I can throw them out.
Xavier Parker
Am I a bad GM if I steal my entire campaign from The Pirates of Dark Water?
Aaron Campbell
Not familiar with it. Will your players be?
Can you give us a rundown?
Kayden Cox
Does anyone use Cypher?
If so, how does it compare to Fate Core?
Ian Howard
nah its fine, hell if you finish the campaign you've officially done more then the show.
Jaxon Green
Only if you actually use terms like "monkeybird" or "dark water". As I recall, that was a pretty cool setting deserving of more development. But then, you have the whole, "missing father's son has the chosen artifact" angle if I remember right. If that's a PC, all the players need to be cool with it. If that's an NPC, all the players will not be cool with it.
Joseph Lewis
I love the narrative mechanics of Star Wars FFG and I plan on using it for a cyberpunk campaign.
What's the best way to implement net diving / hacking? Could something be developed that utilizes gear and abilities to feel a bit more involved than "roll to hack"?
Carson Foster
>Only if you actually use terms like "monkeybird" or "dark water". Monkeybird is not a generic term?
Lincoln Russell
I would think you'd want to make a small version of a battle (whatever that might be in Star Wars FFG, I'm not familiar) where the PC fights the "ICE". Equipment could offer any variety of more defensive or offensive mixtures of bonuses/maluses for the purpose of this electronic warfare.
I'd be more specific but I'm not aware of how FFG handles combat.
Carter Morgan
Would a necron army with allied inquisitor work in any sense

>As I recall, that was a pretty cool setting deserving of more development. It was indeed. Kind of like Thundarr.
Luke Davis
Fluff-wise? Easily if you go by the Newcron fluff. It's more difficult if you stick to Oldcrons, but still possible. It would certainly raise an eyebrow or two if you pulled out that combo on my table but I would accept it if you have a good reason
Easton Hill
I figured it wouldn't be too crazy so long as you're not ordo xenos.
Jason Jones
WTF is going on in this picture, and where is it from?
Henry Hernandez
Much in the same way "lightsaber" is.
>Thundarr I gotta rewatch that. I only remember first watching it because I thought it looked like a cross of Star Wars and He-Man and found it was much better. I also remember rewatching an episode at university and thinking it held up well.
Dylan Wilson
Well it has magic knights with lasers paragliding out of a blackhawk helicopter. That cannot be bad.
>Demon Dogs!
Joseph Gomez
Is there a system where the PCs can play The Thing?
Daniel Campbell
Does he have porn open on his computer?
Caleb Brooks
Isn't that a guy?
Charles Jackson
Does anyone have links to the ebook versions of The Beast Arises 9, 10, and 11?
Henry Myers
Is there any efficient way to acquire basic modeling tools and brushes at a reasonable price? Wanting to get into war gaming and Games Workshop charges too much for materials.
Aaron Williams
I was going to say
>Everyone is John
but we said it already.
Ethan Davis
Turn 'em into ork trukks.
Nolan Wood
...
Mason Sullivan
In a similar vein, there's a permutation of Everyone is John called "Abort Retry Fail" where each player is a rogue subroutine of a T800 sent back to the present.
And there's a sequel, Abort Retry Fail 1000, where they control a liquid-metal robot who has to hunt down the robot they all controlled the first time.

What if they're too big?

So I realized something. I am terrible at keeping up with a weekly rpg session. My last four groups have fallen apart due to me not being able to show because I'm so dog tired from work I just collapse on game day; or secondly I get stuck trying to figure out a suitable amount of encounters, enemies to continue the campaign in a satisfying way. Not to mention, people just started not showing up leaving us with only two or three, but no one wanted to go on without the rest, now the group chat has gone silent. I never have the time to just sit down and really focus on creating something decent and flexible enough to work with the parties shenanigans. By the time I get there I always feel like I was never prepared enough, that I could have done better/worked on the setting more/made it more interesting, contributing to the feeling of "burnout". And the worst part is, I've asked for honest feedback, the people say they love my sessions and my GMing, making me feel even worse that I fail them in one aspect or another.
I need help Veeky Forums I want to GM a campaign, I want to help create an experience for my fellow fa/tg/uys and have fun along the way, but I keep fucking up. I don't know if it's my schedule that drains me and keeps me from this goal, or my own ineptitude, making me choke at the most critical moments; a writers block so insurmountable at the moment, that it causes me to curl up and give up.
Should I take up Play By Post RPG's? Would that circumvent the time component of this calculation of shittiness? Or is there a way I can learn how to run a campaign properly without me tripping over my own faggot bootlaces?
Nicholas Rogers
That's a really good question I can hardly, for the past while, focus on extending my previous attempts to worldbuild and develop a system.
If you can find someone else who wants to contribute to your setting or even GM in your stead, you might feel the creative invigoration you felt once relieved of responsibility. Fatigue can be cured with rest.
Christian Thomas
I can offer no advice on the exhaustion. I have an erratic schedule and regular level exhaustion that keeps me from gaming myself. For me, the answer lies in nutting up and setting time aside to get shit done and then setting aside time to game. But that's me and my time management issues. (I really should stop wasting time on Veeky Forums)
>I always feel like I was never prepared enough, that I could have done better/worked on the setting more/made it more interesting >making me feel even worse that I fail them in one aspect or another. >I keep fucking up. I don't know if it's my own ineptitude, making me choke at the most critical moments; a writers block so insurmountable at the moment, that it causes me to curl up and give up This however, is different. Literally all of this is in your head. This is all how you are perceiving things. You are psyching yourself out. You are comparing your performance to past performances or an ideal in your mind. Stop. Each time you GM, you need to be in that moment. Maybe you fail. Maybe you screw up. Maybe your game isn't as great as other games, your old ones or other peoples. None of that matters nearly as much as you think it does.
As an artist, I can always see the flaws in everything I make. I know when I've made something lesser than I could have or have done before. But others see it through fresh eyes and it's never as bad as you are afraid it is.
Let go of the fear of failing. Failing is part of the process. Do what you do and keep trying to do better. If you don't do better, maybe you will next time.
Relax, rest, revitalize, and then rediscover your hope and inspiration.

>Magicians root >Alchemical ingredient >DC 5(+1 per use) addiction chance >+1 int, -1 dex, -1 wiz >Duration 1 hour >Vision is blurred and hearing dulled >The user begins to "feel" stimulus around themselves making up for impaired senses. >Magicians moonshine >Alchemical potion >DC 5 (+2 per use) addiction chance >+2 int, -2 dex, -2 wiz >Duration 30 min >User becomes almost completely blind, speech requires DC idk check and an intense ringing roars within the users ears. User can transmit and receive basic information or commands (location, actions, ect) telepathically. The user can chose to give or withhold information however all incoming information is non voluntary and required. User can "feel" surroundings, environment, and organisms nearby (idk how far, help) >Addiction DC is cumulative between both >Addiction penalty is -2 int or something while not under the influence Thoughts?

Has anyone ever run a multi-generational campaign? I was considering doing one, but I have only the barest ideas where to start. >Every character has some sort of personal 'feat' or bloodline power >This power is passed to the character's children >Children also retain their parent's equipment, so long as it was not lost >Characters in both generations are made through pointbuy so that they remain relatively balanced, but children get bonuses to scores their parents excelled in (the points for this bonus are spent first). The issue is not having it turn into eugenics or waifufaggotry the game.
Logan Moore
Set aside some time to plan the game, and try to work less hard on the day of the game so that you're not exhausted. Or find a day when you're not working.

What's the quickest way to learn how to balance encounters in 4e?
Charles Butler
Is there porn of this girl?
Alternatively, what would be some good outrageous royal titles for a king? Things like "Keeper of the this" and "Warden of the that".
Something like "King Tommen, First of His Name, King of the Andals and the First Men, Lord of the Seven Kingdoms, and Protector of the Realm" but more ridiculous.
Nicholas Nguyen
King Conrad, Lord of the Black Flame, Keeper of the Eternal Vigil, High Prince of the Golden Scale, and Master of of the Thunn Blade, Second of His Name.

Does anyone happen to have a good download link for the Discworld audiobooks? I'd buy them but the prices are completely insane (especially compared to actual physical books that need to be shipped to you).
Carter Martinez
Idk man, never reveal waifu stats until after the do the deed or something? Honestly I'm not seeing too many scenarios where this doesn't end up like a combination of Fire Emblem and Botany Bay

What's the best system to use for a Mystery Dungeon game?
Also, how to limit number of Furfags/Drag them off?
Easton Lopez
I guess I'll just have to bank on having mature players. (Insert rimshot here)
