This movie played out exactly as an rpg would and that's why it sucked for the viewer

>Will Smith unable to get into character and basically just plays as himself but with cool guns.
>Harleyquinn is the epitome of the "random girl gamer XD" slut everybody slobbers over and makes excuses for when she contributes nothing.
>Diablo is the total newbie that God help him, he's trying... but never pick a fucking evoker.
>Boomerang is the only player actually being "a bad guy forced to do this" and because he's ACTUALLY being chaotic evil, he quickly becomes the butt of the joke and railroaded back into the story because get this... you cannot confine villains to doing dirty work for U.S. government.
>Asian cunt was someone's girlfriend or little sister who wanted to make a Naruto clone.
>Lawful good paladin soldier man is clearly a DMPC whose plot points are not at all shocking.
>Killer Croc is a rollplayer who just built a tank and doesn't even know how to do basic social interaction.

This may be better for /co/, but the analysis is pure Veeky Forums...

I cannot dispute any of your points.

Boomerang was my favorite character in this movie.

Can't agree on DMPC. This is the DMPC. Complete with obnoxious escort mission and "if you tick me off you all die" thing going on.
Paladin is that one contrarian guy who rolled LG character for Evil campaign (and would have rolled CE for Good one.)

Also you forgot that one guy who only showed up for the first session and then we had to have his character die off screen.

I don't know, I'd say the Paladin is probably the DM's best bro who joined up in the game to keep the others well railroaded. And the Naruto Clone is probably either his girlfriend or the DM's girlfriend who got the special treatment souleater sword.

It was just a garbage movie. Nothing more, nothing less.

>Sorry guys, works got me busy for the next couple months. Do whatever with my character.

Same. His entire character in regards to the team is That Guy which is fun to watch when you don't have to deal with it personally. He deserved way more screen time.

I just want a Captain Boomerang movie.

Batman: Assault on Arkham is the better version by far, but still has the RPG feel to it.

Will Smith should have been the joker, though.

Gotta disagree with both of you on the DMPC.
>Tries to stay out of combat unless necessary.
> Super sappy backstory that no one cares about.
>Deus ex Machina power to save the group when they're losing.
>Sacrifices himself to save them. No one cares{/spoiler}
How is he not the DMPC?

I fucking hated the count.

But then again, I found the movie enjoyable.

The weakest part was the Joker. That one was just really shit, because he was more like a serial child molester than a crazy crime lord.

Guardians of the Galaxy did to a degree too, and it was great. What you just outlined made it seem like the problem was that it was a shitty rpg,

>Batman: Assault on Arkham is the better version by far...

I gotta second this. Why the hell did they even bother making a live action Suicide Squad movie when the animated one was so great?

A shitty RPG with shitty players.
Any game that needs a DMPC has issues.

>the players actually cooperate and play the game the right way

1d6 rebels per round

>I hope it's cool that I made a Shaolin Monk for this game. I promise I'll make it fit.

>shaolin monk from THE shaolin monk temple in a setting where space monks are one of the main focuses
>players still complain about weeaboo boogeyman

To be fare, he was allowed to play a water downed version of what everyone actually wanted to play after the gm forbid anyone else from playing them.

It is like the tendency I have seen with the ffg star wars I have seen with gms. There is a way to be a jedi lite thing but gms restrict it to their favorite player of the year.

I have literally the opposite problem: none of my players want to be Jedi... and I desperately want to run a Jedi game.

>JimProfit

>I desperately want to run a Jedi game.

Are you some kind of faggot?
Jedi were the dumbest thing about starwars.

The force is cool, the sword fights are cool but Jedi are dull and stupid as fuck. Luke only started to do work when he stopped listening to them and saved Vader.

The entire time I watched this I actually pictured my Mutants&Masterminds group turning up with #SuhTragic sympathetic antiheroes except the party bro, turning up with a gimmicky smalltime villain who throws boomerangs.

Incidentally, when we actually did a SS-oneshot he played a megalomaniac sword.

Fucking thank you. I've been thinking this for years, but everyone thinks I'm crazy when I say Jedi are the worst thing about Star Wars, and actively detracted from my interest in the franchise.

Which is probably why I liked Rogue One so much more than any other Star Wars movie. It had all the cool shit about star wars: The Empire, the Alliance, The Force, Sassy Droids, kooky monster aliens, everyone talking seamlessly between Space English and Alienese, Stars, Wars, and so on, but no Jedi. They're mentioned in passing, but they were not apart of the production and it was awesome. I thought droid was going to be dumb and edgy, but he was great. Same with the monk, looked dumb before I saw the movie, and is actually one of the best characters in it.

I think that movie had a great cast... Except Cassian, he was a little weird, not terrible, but a bit off. Also CGI Cushing was a bit unsettling. Like there were definitely flaws, but it's Star Wars, so that couldn't be helped. It was nice to see Vader get into some action though, show everyone why he's widely feared.

>plot hooks that would've resulted in a much more interesting game with much more interesting characters go ignored

>Naruto
>ever using a katana
?????

your right, it's worse. She wanted to play sasuke.

>boo hoo my loved ones are dead
>So fucking angry and edgy all the time
>Bitch i got mad skills

Well, I guess at least it's better than wanting to play Sakura. Protip: No one wants to play Sakura.
>Stand around doing nothing

or

Difference being that there were likeable characters in Guardians. Suicide Squad starts with a "group of characters", Guardians has them assemble over time.
Keep in mind that I'm not saying Guardians was anything more than just "passable" either.
