hate that art.

Do dark eldar die when they are killed?
What happens to their souls? The dont use spirit stones right? And why

If they have some kind of deal with a haemonculi they can be revived.
They cut off a part of them and keep it alive like a lich phylactery and in the case of their death they grow it in to a new body.

Only the rich Deldar can afford it so the regular warriors and slaves are just fucked when they die.

IVth for Khornate IW and Maulerfiends.

Favourite chaos and why?

>Poor people
Dead, or if lucky, revived

>Rich
Survive nearly anything because the local Coven can bring you back from a finger

Orks are better in my opinion but CSM is a close second.

I guess I just like armies with shit codexes...

How do I best run Kharn the Betrayer? Just got him as a trade with a friend.

>tfw can't justify my Chaos Lord having both Lightning Claw and Goredrinker
I bet it'd look awesome, but Lightning claws are specialist weapons, which means there'd really be no benefit to it.

Could we formulate a trick question for GW wich will make them confirm plastic sister or confirm no plastic sisters unnoticed?

As the stream, the IA codex and Veryidian constant out of stock.

I do not think GW understand what the hell it is doing. It almost feels like the entirety of GW are just a bunch of offices that by accident sale miniature related products.

In other words no one has any idea what the hell is going on inside GW and what their consumer want.

>You run him towards combat silly!
Bring him with some berserkers and cut through those filthy loyalists.

In a transport with a squad to soak up wounds and to help get rid of whatever the big guy didnt finish.
I'm a hopeless Slaanesh fanboy.
I have an affinity for themes regarding loss of sanity and depravity.
+ crunchwise being a decent melee army with + bass cannons makes me moist.

Nurgle, overall for how impressive the minis are, because I actually dislike how poorly theyr characters have evolved.
Everyone knows Ahriman, and the other guy who is pretty fun to be around. Meanwhile no one remembers poor Typhus.

that is one dank as fuck kitbash and paintjob

Indeed.
Gotta say it's not mine though.

How good are Dunecrawler as support for an army that has already good anti tank and anti hoard? SoB in case you wonder.

Dunecrawler is one of the better AA options in the game. As sisters that has value.

Sweet any good formation or way to ally them in? Do not mind any extra tax units for that sweet looking Crab

Dominus Maniple, the Formation that comes in the Start Collecting! box.

How much points is that thing? Lots of dude just to add a Crawler.

>instant, unavoidable death

Played 1.5 games yesterday against Blood Angels, allied with IG for the full one. First time at 2000pts. One draw, one win.

What have YOU played with/against recently?

Is there a way to find Rogue Trader era White Dwarf PDF/epubs?

To my knowledge the two noteworthy ways to add Dune Crawlers to a list would be either to bring a Skitarii Maniple, so two troops minimum plus your dune crawlers, or you could bring the formation from the Start Collecting! Skitarii box. The first option is cheaper points wise but the formation is rather effective.

>poor Typhus.
for good reason
typhus was a dick who sold his soul and friends for power.
Ahriman was a tragic fella, same with kharn, people can sympathize with both mr daddy issues more then they can with the hype powered lawyer who never had to work for anything.

Can I safely glue a Radium Carbine and Power Sword to my Skitarii Vanguard Alpha? Can't be arsed to magnetize those tiny-ass arms and feel like those options are pretty much the best loadout for an Alpha. Just not 100% certain if the Power Sword is a definite pick or not.

Unless I go unbound. HQ 1 troop and heavy as allies would work. Nice

Powersword is very poor choice for Vanguard alpha. Either go with teslaclub, haywireclub or basic rifle only.

>Power Sword
why?
go arc hammer it's got more utility.

If i could give you a bit of insight i either keep him empty so he can tank a couple hits for the special weapons if the squad gets blasted too much or i have him shoot.
you aren't going to charge squads you can't break and you should be letting the stalkers do it.
Also you have no pistol, why go for dedicated anti infantry melee? with s/t3 and i/3
it's not a good idea

250 points minimum. Though the Dominus himself is absolutely worth the tax if you run any vehicles, since he can repair a wound/hull point on a 2+. He's also incredibly tanky (being able to even repair himself) and can deal quite some damage both at range and in melee.

If you use just the Skitarii Maniple, you only get 5 more vanguards in place of the Dominus and also don't get his spotter rule, only the detachment rules that lets you move up faster.

Which site is everyone using to get C&C on their armies?

I only played my first game in 7th with the GW store dude helping me out as a learning game. He played Chaos Marines and I played Chimera Vet Guard with Pask, Engiseer and Sentinels. It was pretty much a stomp on my part, but I'm pretty positive he went easy on me and also played a list made from demo models. It's a great way to get someone into the hobby by letting them go hard. I've been list making ever since thinking of what to try next.

I was looking at my models and I realized I wanted to try the Emperor's Wrath formation with some blob Guardsmen and other units pushing forward. I don't want to just sit there shooting until people get close, I want to meet people halfway and have massive battles in the middle. Gotta paint Karamazov too so I can try games where I bombard my own units in close combat. Maybe make a Conscript squad with little targets on the top of their heads.

After playing so many close games against my friend's Tau with my Orks I played against him with my daemons.

He brought a riptide and a optimised stealth cadre but my daemons just surged forward and devoured everything, I won turn three.

Nevermind. I'm an idiot.

Here
>implying faggots at Dakka, reddit or anywhere else that isn't anonymous is worth anything

Wait the start collecting box is 250 points? Holy fuck my SoB are overcosted

Sounds like a plan, dude. I play a fairly infantry heavy Tau list, though I plan to switch to a more armored one soon; unfortunately, neither can save me from 4 drop pods and a Stormraven full of Death Company to the face when no one was expecting fliers (including the guy that brought it).

I think that the formation can be ratcheted down to 250 points with the bare minimum units to make it more useful as an ally formation. The full contents of the box come out more comfortably towards 750 if I recall.

It comes to over 500 with decent upgrades

Skitarii overall are incredibly cheap for what they bring. Their wargear costs a lot, though. That box is just 90 for the Crawler, 55 for 5 Vanguards and 105 for the Dominus.

Is there an IG formation that doesn't cost like 3000 points? Seems like it costs an arm and a leg for barely any value with them.

The formation can only be used with Rangers.

I think that was one of the classical GW blunders. It depends what version you got.

Or Vanguards.
GW printed versions with either troop choice.

>GW FAQ for it was both is valid. Use whatever one you got

They FAQ'd that because some Datasheets had Rangers while others had Vanguards listed, while promo art also had differing units. Their official statement towards those misprints were "You can use whichever version of the datasheet you have.", so basically "Just use whatever, it was a mistake."

But isn't it all the same box? Or did they do separate releases with different box art or something?

They (most likely) fucked up and printed two versions of it without paying attention.

So instead of putting their foot down and saying "x" is right. They did a whole "use whatever"

>Which was honestly a smart approach.

If they release a FAQ about SoB and Inquisition codex I hope they go for that.

Use Imperial Agent as an addition to existing shit. Not as a replacement

That sounds rough.

I've got a smattering of Deathwatch from various boxed sets.

Is it worth running a Blackspear? The combinations of terminators, bikes, vanards and regular vets is very fucky. I'm building more of a collection/casual army than a competitive one, but I don't want to gimp myself.

Myself :'(.
Everybody just played Sigmar that day

So if I add the skitarii start collecting box

I will need codex:
Skitarii
Cult Mechanicus
Tempestus Scion
Adepta Sororitas
Inquisition
Imperial Agent

Kill me please

I would be really annoyed with that. Now that those books finally have an actual print copy that should be the one that is used - none of this "digital book" horseshit when there's actual hardcopies floating around which differ from it.

Nice dick tower.

Well thanks to the idiots of GW IA just add things to already existing codex.

RAW make it that way and RAI would imply that GK and DW got reduce to the things inside IA that mention things that are not inside the codex.

So RAW it is enjoy your servo skulls and Celestin for those that bitch a lot about that.

No, because GK and DW have up-to-date print Codices.

Inquisition and SoB do not.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone who wants to run an army needs to have all of the rules in print present at the time of the game. This is the 7e update to Inquisition and SoB.

You keep posting this but you never bloody post what's written.
I know the codex is probably in the OP, but you don't cite a page number you're on about or a paragraph of text.

I don't get what you mean about the codex stating you can't use the previous armies dedicated codices. Is there a disclaimer or blurb that advised what the purpose of the book is?

The same wording use in GK and DW is use for the rest of the crap there. Same goes for the lonely Enginseer.

Anyone with the codex at hand can screen capture it or take picture.

That is why the fucking thing is a mess.

Why print them? You know smart phone and tablets are a thing?

Ha ha, big benis :DDD

Sorry I don't want to scroll through a fucking Codex on a shitty little touchscreen that needs to be plugged in and charged and have to redownload all my copies when I get a new device after figuring out how I authenticate that I bought them on GWs user-unfriendly website.

It's so much easier, faster, and more pleasant to just bring in the book that you can buy with cash in the store where you get the models without needing an expensive piece of third party electronics and needing to worry about where in the LGS you're going to plug it in and charge it that's not accessible to your gaming table and so on.

I print the pages from the downloaded codex so I don't have to flip through fluff or pictures. I just print out the rules of the units I'm taking and it's simple.

Did you just imply that I need to bring my over 6 hardbook cover because you can't into technology?

> This section of Codex: Imperial Agents includes full background and rules for the pious warriors of the Adepta Sororitas. It includes datasheets and descriptions of their holy wargear. It also includes two unique Detachments, enabling you to add either a lone Ministorum Priest and his bodyguard to your army or field an entire military wing of the Ecclesiarchy.

That's on p. 58. Later, on p. 84:

> This section of Codex: Imperial Agents includes full background and rules for the elite Space Marines of the Deathwatch. It includes a datasheet for the Deathwatch Veterans and the deadly Corvus Blackstar gunship, as well as a unique Detachment making it easy to add these operatives to your army.

If you're having logistical issues bringing a few books in a game that requires you to bring like a hundred delicate models + terrain, dice, tape measure, templates and so forth, you're the problem, not me.

And I very easily can into technology, but I'm not going to because it's literally causes more problems than it solves.

Thank you. That is why unless GK and DW also got replaced which would be very dumb as the things regarding them make use of things outside of the IA. Then Inquisition and SoB didn't get replace.

Thanks GW for this lazy as fuck codex

If anything this is just a compendium for Imperial crap and not a replacement for them

Also of note, the Enginseer Congregation specifically states that you can only have Enginseers as the HQ choices and Servitors as its Elite choices (pg. 40). Nothing else in the book specifies it can only be used with what's shown in the book, so it seems as though you an put Stormravens in the Fast slot of the Daemonhunter Strike Force or other silliness.

Thank you very much.

So what is all on about.
I mean they are right that yes you can cleary use this book, or codex sisters of battle, or adeptus sororitas whatever they called it, and codex inquisition.

There's no RAI here or RAW. It's not a rule.
Neither of the statements are rules stating there's a limit to what you can do.
Just a friendly blurb stating what the section offers to you... including using this books detachments with the other books detachments.
Or you can use the dataslates for the rules for your models if you want to instead with no indication that they intend to invalidate the others.

keeps sperging about RAW / RAI like he's discovered something amazing or really helpful, but neither clauses cover any actual bloody rules.

no more guide for Akolytes, no more Hammerhand for Deathcult, no more Sanctuary and Priests for Crusaders. Servoskulls are gone and our chimera lost 3! Firepoints.... what does the inquisition even do anymore?

This book is enough of a clusterfuck as it is. The least I can do is keep the debates about it grounded in fact.

The op has links to all the PDFs.

so the valkyries in the book are their own faction.... that faction has no infantry.... GW just made Transporters that (due to their FAQ) cant transport Infantry.... gj

Make wild accusations and loyal imperials.

They use the datasheets from Codex: Inquisition. Unless you mean to tell me that Deathwatch Veterans lost their drop pods?

No they didn't. They just added more options in IA.

Either way regardless of RAW RAI stupidity the point is IA didn't remove anything just added crap and bloated Inquisition and SoB with no good reason.

My FLGS uses that Gothic Sector as the 40k board but rolling dice on it sucks because they keep getting stuck in all the detail and they're always cocked. I was thinking about making a dice rolling tower for convenience, but I don't know what it should look like. I was thinking about making a little tower from building pieces but I would imagine the dice might get stuck in the window or something, what do you guys thing?

What color should I paint the wings of flying hive tyrants? I'm using the leviathan color scheme with the purple carapace and such. I see some people use pinkish wings and others using darker shades of the flesh. Also which paints would I need for each?

>dicetower question

OH BOY

Ok, so, at my GW the lads did a cool thing, they used old movement trays and an imperial bastion to make a SICK dicetower, now obviously that's retarded expensive even if you use plasticard instead of OOP movement trays.

I've got a $4 solution which you'll love

We all agree it didn't remove anything, that's a moot point.

I wouldn't say it bloated anything. Just gave a book for someone who wants to make an army out of all the little bits of the forces that make an appearance in the book.
I can now run a squad of 10 DW, 10 SB, an engineseer in a chimera with an inquisitor and his retinue using a single book.

Is it $4 worth of plasticard?

>our chimeras were brought into line to match IG's chimeras. Just like when Codex Inquisition came out our chimeras were a copy paste of 5e IG's Chimeras

FTFY

even simpler, hold on I'm looking for a picture of the thing online

If taken as dedicated transports for a squad of acolytes the acolytes can start the game embarked on the valkyrie as in that instance the valkarie would have both the aeronautica faction and the inquisition faction.

The entry for the Deathwatch Veterans in the Imperial Agents book only includes the option to take blackstars as dedicated transports no other transport option is listed in the unit entry so to use them in the capacity listed in Imperial agents; yes, the death watch veterans lost their drop pods. However, if you wanted to have the other options you could just take a formation from the deathwatch codex that does retain the option for a drop pod. You just wouldn't be able to use it with the imperial agents formation.

On what grounds do you claim that you can only take things from Imperial Agents in that case? It just says that they have to have the Deathwatch (or Grey Knight, or Inquisition) Faction, which things in the other books explicitly do.

Do Start Collecting boxes make good kill teams? What about in HoR?

where are the rules for starting embarked in a dedicated transport?

Wait? 34 models in a Chimera? Or what are you trying to say.

I meant that there is no point in taking it out of the acolytes and making it a faction if noone but the acolytes can use them^^

You can't take the Magos or the Dunecrawler in killteam, and the skitarii will probably fill out your 200 point limit anyway.
None of the boxes really make good kill teams

they're too big for kill teams or HoR

you can make killteams or HoR out of the boxes I suppose, but it's worth noting that for a lot of start collecting boxes they can't

for example you can't use terminators so throw out the terminator captain, next you can't take dreadnoughts because they have too much armour so throw that out,

next you're left with 10 marines which doesn't fill out a killteam, my marine killteam is 12 tacticals, two squads of six with two missile launchers

Lol no, it was an example of a small fun army of a load of guys all showing up to the same distress call.
That was like you could put an engineseer with an inquisitor and some henchmen in a chimera as just a dumb example of something, not saying it's something you'd want to do for any specific reason.

Some anons ready into everything way too literally.

Depends. Certain vehicles fail the KT critera
>HQs, too much AV for vehicles, etc.

However a couple are pretty good
Best ones (as in can use almost everything)
>Scions can use everything, but the Commissar
>Tau can use everything, but the Ethereal
>Dark Eldar should be able to use everything, but the HQ

I haven't sat down to read the IA but the things I have read allow some silly things. Like the Faith rape Train. That grants a 6++ to a thing that has already 5++, 4++ and 3++ oh yah arco flagellants do not have a ++ but I doubt that is the only reason.

I like the Imperial Agents book a lot, it's going to let me make my Deathwatch army a lot more fun without having to just keep making more killteams with the same units.
It's a fun project to kitbash an inquisitor and the retinue too. Death cult assassins are going to finally give me an excuse to grab a few dark eldar models.
But instead everyone's salty because Sisters didn't become massive cheese.

Has Imperial Agents done anything right?
I think the psyker and LotD detatchments are the only things that I've yet to hear complaints of been fucked up in some way.

GW realm of battle boards are some of the best looking low effort tables you can get. But they roll dice like shit. The 40k one especially is covered in pipes, drainage ditches, hatched metal floors and etc which just love to cock dice.

Enter my $4 solution (pictured here). I'm sure you're a talented lad who can clean the edge of felt up better than I so you can have an even prettier box than me. (Not pictured, I used leftover felt as 4 feet on the bottom of the box to minimize table damage done by the box).

>Is it really $4?

Yes. I purchased this... wooden box thingy (shadow box or something?) From michael's, for those of you who don't know Michael's has loads of coupons regularly, almost always 40% off, sometimes 50% off, so you can get this $4 box for half price.

Then you buy a sheet of felt which is $1. If you don't have michael's then you definitely have hobby stores near you which have a simmilar product.

I'm in Canada and I paid $5 CAD for this and I know you lucky american bastards can get this for almost nothing.

If you're really lazy you don't even need felt covered sides, you can just cut a rectangle out and felt-line the bottom of the box.
I went for felted sides because why not, quiet side action.

no more cocked dice ever

I think you can upgrade your force commander to a terminator in HoR.

If its an addition to the current books for the INQ then it adds nothing but is Irrellevant. if it is a Replacement then my Army just died

HoR is NOT killteams

killteams is GW's cumsmear of a ruleset
