If you saw a fighter with this loadout, what would you guesstimate their level was?

If you saw a fighter with this loadout, what would you guesstimate their level was?

It's a mixed bag. Full plate implies the fighter's been adventuring long enough to afford the high prices, but no sign of magic weapons on a high-level fighter seems strange.

10 at best.

>d&d
CR 3 Knight. Maybe a 5-6th level. No obvious magic is only a little odd.

>any realistic system
Just bend over now.

I dunno. That sword looks fancy enough to be magic.

At least 14 CP, versatile noble school, 5-6 in physical Attributes. I would expect a tough fight.

Some of those weapons could be magical. The sword marked 12 in particular is probably at least masterwork (Or fluffed equivalent if that's not a mechanical consideration).
I'd say this guy is at least level 5 in any particular edition of D&D or its clones.

He is missing a bollock dagger

Amulet, too.

>Expecting visible bollock dagger
Perv!

Hey, every man should have two of them

4 to 8, maybe? Probably around 5.

3-5, perhaps 6 if he was rather unlucky with gear distribution. A pretty serious loadout so certainly not an amature, but none of it is magical.

What makes you say he has no magic items? Sword 12 is more than fancy enough to be magic, and he's got two things around his neck that could both easily be magic as fuck.

Even his armor could potentially be magical. Not all magic items have to be glowing and visually obvious. Then again, that's kinda pointless conjecture, since we only have a picture to go off of.

1, because he hasn't taken Weapon Focus or Weapon Specialization yet

It's English armor. England doesn't have magic weapons, despite what the Welsh would have you believe.

Fucking kek, this guy gets it. By level 6 he'll only have one weapon, maybe three of that same some weapon but made of different materials.

>Not being skilled in the use of ten weapons
This is why D&D fails. Only a lowborn freeman would be so stupid that he could only learn how to master a single weapon.

He's got two rare magic amulets and armour specialized for dungeon raiding. Seems like a decently high-leveled Darkest Dungeon character.

Lvl 1 but filthy rich

Maybe Insight 4 or 5 and with a shitload of Gaijin Weapon/Inheritance advantages.

Rich wannabe

Armor is heavy. He's at least had some conditioning.

He's level 1, clearly just trying to keep up with casters already.

5-10

As strong as I fucking feel like because I'm the DM.

It looks like he's got a Boar Ring, a powerful magical item that makes paying attention to him so tedious that most people won't bother. He might as well be invisible.

>Nice sword.
Hmm... Pretty high, I'd guess-
>no fucking cape
level 3.

Maybe he's wearing the cape on the inside of his armor. Doesn't want it getting caught on brambles.

From what I know of Song of Swords, you're boned as fuck if you're facing this dude.

>If you saw a fighter with this loadout, what would you guesstimate their level was?

I'm going to say somewhere between 5-7 as he looks like he's starting to skim the hard-cap of what can be accomplished without magic and is beginning to breach into supernatural empowerment.

He's has 2 visible magical accessories and what looks to be an exceptionally enchanted sword- all of which no doubt give him considerable supernatural power.
He also has a full suit of plate armor and although it isn't explicitly state- I wouldn't doubt it if one of his extra weapons was lined with silver.

>level doesn't mean anything BECAUSE I'M THE DM
Great DMing.

What I meant is that perhaps he's some war hero with God's blessing and is level 20.
Or maybe he's some Peredur motherfucker who got a lucky potshot and stole that equipment and is level 1.

The real question is how many swords does this guy really need?

This.
- Full 15th century plate. Nothing getting through that.
- Bill. Truly the superior weapon. Fucking crowbar armored dudes open and then hatchet them to death.
- A dozen niceass arming swords. This fucker is rich as fuck. No way he is accompanied by less than 50 men.

>Bill

I thought that was just called a poleaxe

Am I stupid

I suppose its more of a poleaxe specifically then a bill. Bills are just 2 handed axe/blade topped weapons, and the name covers a very wide variety of killysticks in use in the 14th-15th century.

Your more right than me.

What about this one?

He's level kebab

I'd say around six.

Enough weapons to have seen some shit and needed to counter it, rich enough to have plate, sword looks magical, necklace looks magic but the cheapest of those are obtainable at like 2 or 3 though it looks a step or two above that.

Biggest problem is he doesn't have a ranged weapon.

5 at most, this character has clearly not invested in specializing in one weapon.

2-3
You should be able to afford it by then

Pretty well-equipped guard.

Either a moderate threat in a one-on-one fight or the fucking Scourge of God depending on how your GM does things.

In most D&D editions I've played I would go with at least 5 or 6, which is about the last level that somehow still feels "real" to me, but also the level where most of our fighters were able to pay for such a shitload of equipment.

By Level 12 or somesuch we would have found armor bracers or such crap, which let us drop the heavy plate.

Where are you getting armor bracers that outperform enchanted fullplate?

I wouldn't bother. I'd just play a different game.

He's tougher than he looks. He's got lamellar over chainmail over a gambeson-equivalent. He must have spent most of his money on his armor (reasonable choice, all things considered), since he's packing an axe and a spear (both generally seen as a poor man's weapon). However, he certainly didn't skimp on his shield, since that thing's got plenty of metal to reinforce the wood.

Overall, lvl 16ish adventurer that's hasn't upgraded his weapons because he's more focused on survivability.

>level
Professional.

Everything but the armor is easily level 1 fare. I'm thinking 2 or 3 in a high-money game, or even 1 with a DM that's an absolute madman.

Higher level fighters will have TRON-shit running down their gear and other wild stuff.

Let's just say I'd plunder his lands and rape his daughter, alright?

My initial reaction to a guy wearing a warhammer, 3 swords, a mace and a halberd is to question how fucking sick his cardio-game must be.

Probably 14 cp after endurance
