Help I've been shot and I can't get up!

Oh no you've been shot in the gut by a Bolter what ever will you do!?

Fucking die because it's a 40 mm rpg

I roll to bleed out before I'm ever aware of what happened.

i've been wha-

Be blown in half? Those things are mass reactive, Boyo...

Okay let me change this up
You're current Character be it Fantasy/Sci-Fi or Modern How does he/she/whatever do? do they even survive the initial Impact?

an entire bolter?

I'll be lying there.
And there.
And there.
And there.
And there.

>It's a gun, Frank. A gun that fires guns.

Hit in the gut by a .75'' explosive bolt?

Die painfully I guess?

Die?

Try to scream, probably just gurgle and choke on my own blood instead, assuming I don't just die instantly. Not a whole lot you can do when you get blown open by a high explosive round that's designed to penetrate and then blow up.

Well fuck lucky me first one here with a character to survive!......for 10 seconds before bleeding out

>.75"
>40mm
One of you is lying to me.

It's .75 caliber according to the wiki

40mm for the Bolt Pistol I think
and then 75 for the regular bolter
and then 100 for heavy bolters
Because fuck you and you're survival

There are lots of different calibres. In general Astartes Bolters are of course higher cal, and often heavy bolters fire larger ammo than basic and pistol class, though those normally share calibre. Big Galaxy, many ammo types.

>and you're survival

The adventures of Battle Brother Survival.

>space marine! what is your name?
>my name is survival sir!
>yes, that is what you'll do, but what is your name?
>my name is survival sir!
>...what did your father name you?
>he said "you're survival." and then he died
>oh. very well then, battle brother survival

8/10
better story than 90% of the black library

I fucked up I admit it sounds fucking sweet though

7/10 not enough plot progression

I enjoyed this thread a lot more than I ever thought I would going in.

If I'm lucky, explode. If I'm not, get overpenetrated by the bolt and then shredded with shrapnel as it explodes right behind me, then bleed out on the ground.

Brother survival, here's a pic of a 37mm autocannon. 40mm is a bolt pistol for primarchs.

Franka franka franka

more please

Can we make this a thing?

Remind me of the guardsman hailing from a planet isolated from the rest of the imperium since the great crusade and named horus as a result (after the great hero, sir).

Nah, you're mixing millimeters and inches. Pretty common if you don't know anything about firearms.
The bolt pistol and boltgun are both .75. That's 3/4 inch. That's 19.05mm.
A Heavy Bolter is a full 1.00(1 inch) round, which is 25.4mm. No idea the length of the rounds.
I.E, 20mm autocannon and 25mm autocannon if we're trying to find similar sizes in the modern day.

'Mortal' Bolters are .75 cal, which (should) include the ones the Sisters of Battle carry.

Astartes Bolters are typically .998 cal for obvious reasons. They seem to be longer as well which would be one of the reasons they have stupid crazy recoil for the initial charge as it boots the bolt out the barrel.

Heavy Bolters are supposed to be equivalent to a chain gun off an Apache, but in keeping with the general design calling each Heavy Bolter round about 40mm is fairly probable.

Story please?

Shoot back. I have one too.

And I fire the melta part

>mixing up calibers and mm

Not really. The size of Bolter for Astartes vary, since most of them are hand-crafted and their ammunition is made to order, but most of them lay around .75. Some games have mentioned them around 1.00, but those can be considered outlayers, similar to the .75 Heavy Bolter used during the Great Crusade.

In regards to 'mortal' Bolters, there isn't going to be too much. You'll see differences in size of the firearm, and the main change will come from the ammunition it fires. Bolters are Armor-piercing High Explosive. Their rounds are rocket-assisted/two stage. The only real difference would be powder charge with the primary kicker charge.

>>Astartes Bolters are typically .998 cal for obvious reasons
They are quite literally not. They're .75 caliber weapons for all of them. The only difference is the size of the charge.

I was sure I read somewhere that current Marine weapons were (mostly) Godwyn pattern... which I'm sure were supposed to be .998 caliber.

Do you think I can find the source now? Not a freaking hope. I'm sure it was in a codex or something.

By a bolter? Proceed to explode. OP did not think this one through.

i explode into a million meaty beefy chunks because bolts are a mass reactive round.

When i had reached this point in the thread and saw your post i was inclined to agree.

Get interred into a Dreadnaught. Hopefully with lots of bolters of my own

I would real quickly blame someone else for getting an astartes to fire his gun at me before I'd die my messy death.

hitch a ride on a xenos

If by some miracle I've survived the immediate shot, I will either die quickly from blood loss, or a longer, more horrific death as my entire chest cavity has been torn into a meaty pulp.

Storm bolters are .75 cal.

Either way it's a fucking explosive you idiot.

i would also like the story or link

If it's me? Probably die
My character that got shot in the chest twice by a heavy bolter? Make that guy the captain of the ship as I just killed the previous captain
My current character? She's an exalt, so not get shot in the first place? Or if it's required, suffer mostly just HP damage, doubtful she'd go into crit, and knock the guy out with her sword and magic her gutwound into being better

I scream in pain until I died of shock and fall down like a miserable human being without the manhood...

Have a not so jolly Christmas. I may be a heavily armored combat cyborg, but there's only so much resiliance you can pack into a human-sized frame.

Choke on my blood as my torso flips through the air separated by the waist from my lower body.

I'll assume you mean whatever current character I'm playing as
>Aware of space marine prior to blam
Completely fine.
>Unaware of space marine prior to blam
Dead.
