Why would anyone worship Asmodeus when it's obvious he doesn't care about you and you'll end up as a demon's plaything or it's dinner if you're lucky.

If the afterlife sucks hard, might as well live it up in the first life.

One of my D&D players is a Tiefling Paladin of Asmodeus and she thinks he is great. They have a weird relationship somewhere between favourite grandchild and obviously just another pawn in his Machiavellian masterplan. It is funny that their relationship is so amicable because a lot of the other PCs have rather more complex relationships with their patrons.

>demon's
Asmodeus is not a demon, you illiterate fucking faggot. He is a devil and he will keep to his word.

All you need to do with Asmodeus is get him to make a deal with you that is favorable to you and keep your end of the bargain. He's guaranteed to do the same. This is very hard but technically possible.

1. phenomenal magical power in the short term. Hellfire Warlocks are beastly.
2. most canny adventurers (and even most unaware devil summoners) never intend to die, ever, having immortality as a general long-term goal is the name of the game
3. if you resound with magical power and great evil on your deathbed, you get to ascend as a devil when Baator claims your soul, giving you a place in the afterlife and means to keep rising in the ranks (you can go all the way from Lemure to Archdevil with luck, skill, power, and raw ambition)

If you think he's going to win, you'll take what you can get.

'Tis better to serve in Hell than whatever's going to happen to the followers of the Gods when They lose to the big guy downstairs.

Same reason wagecuck schmucks from the backwater voted for Trump. There's something to be said for a) supporting the winning team and b) falling in behind strength

and and plus humans throughout time have thought "oh but that won't happen to ME, I'll succeed where everyone else has failed" and sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't.

Because he will win and whatever deal you can get from him will be better than what the rest of the world will suffer.

Hivemind.

That's not how hivemind works at all

The joke is they're both saying the same thing they just don't realize it...

In one camapign one player kept writing on walls Asmodeus is a faggot.

Near the end of the campaign a portal gone wrong have brought before Asmy throne. And Asmy knew fo his sheninjas.

Why would you worship Zeus if it's obvious he doesn't care about you'll end up as a miserable shade languishing in Tartarus if you're lucky?

The same reason anyone would worship a darker being. Power, money, fame, lunacy, contempt, a lack of understanding of what they're serving, because they were tricked into thinking he was more benevolent than he is... Trying to understand what the deranged and the damned do isn't necessary. Either call the local paladins on them, or move about your day as if you weren't involved.

It only sucks when you die. So you gun for immortality when you worship him. There's so many ways to achieve it for truly evil immoral people.

People like being mislead or deceiving themselves into thinking they're the exception. It's pure human nature to ignore the obvious in pursuit of power.

>all you need to do
>it's very hard
One if these things does not match up. Pull your head out of your ass user, you're not some mastermind who'll figure a way around a deal with a fucking devil. More often than not the suckers who do end up in an even worse situation along the way.

Just be careful dude inbd

Because for the kind of person that would worship contractual evil and actually go out of their way to incur the favor of that divinity, the results are different. An antipaladin or cleric of Asmodeus is probably contractually guaranteed a position of at least some favor in Hell. Even non divine worshippers, fighters, wizards, etc. will reach a point where it's just not conducive to Asmodeus' goals to off them and mulch them to make Larvae. Past level 8 for casters and divine classes or like 13, 14 for martials, the character is just more useful as a willing and loyal agent of hell. Their afterlife may not be what a good person wants, tormenting the souls of the damned and leading others to damnation is pretty fucked up, but they aren't good people obviously.

>>I'm a retard!
We allready knew!

> For the hell of it.

Because Asmodeus and other evil gods allow you to be happy and act in your own self-interest now and then. "Good" gods expect you to be endlessly self-sacrificial and servile, both in life and after death.

Schadenfreude.
You don't care if you're going to suffer as long as you can make your enemies suffer too, maybe even more. Primal hatred with no concern for your own self preservation.
