>what does Veeky Forums think about moths?

We don't.

Ever since that one doujin I will never see moths the same...

Most fey are some type of insect looking creature with the most "human" looking ones resembling the Chimera Ants from HxH.

Beyond that they are either plant-like in some way or basically eldritch abominations.

Moths are cute.
CUTE.

Holy shit. What species is that? That's fucking huge.

Except the blood-sucking one.

*Ahem*

Which one?

[Happy moth noises]

Layers of White

Moths are worshiped by some cultures and some religions of my world. They are mainly associated with ancestral worship and considered messengers passing between the underworld and real world. There are moth-temples in which the priests tend to populations of thousands of those things, raised in great domes and voliers, and you can see moth priests sometimes walking through the streets surrounded by entire clouds of the things at dawn or dusk. It helps that there are some moth-species in my world that are relatively intelligent and can be trained and conditioned.

I love moths. They're adorable. As for what I use them for, there are some species of giant magical moth. Most of them are nothing too major, but there's a really huge one, said to be their progenitor, that's a blatant Mothra rip-off. She's got kind of a guardian divinity thing going.

Angery moth

>You will never ss with a qt yandere moth girl

My setting features a race of moth people. They're mostly merchants, artificers and magicians.

They signify death/doom; usually that the Disease has been there recently.
The Disease is a bioweapon that breaks down people to build more meat mass, essentially, it doesn't use as much water or sugar as humans do so there's excess left about. Moths flock to it so that they can feed and reproduce before the excess is evaporated. Sometimes for days at a time.
Using knowledge of the recent weather, flora and Bees one could estimate how recently it was there.

If you want to know more: My setting takes play in the future, on and agricultural colony planet. It had a very specifically tailored ecosystem so there are no predatory animals. As such colonists do not have any "true" weapons (guns/swords/crossbows) unless it has a utility purpose (knives/axes).

The Disease is a bio-engineered life-form based off an alien species that was accidentally jettisoned plane side prior to the ship's crash.
It landed weeks before the ship.

I totally didn't mash together Expanse, Last of Us and Stand Still, Stay Silent.
If you read all of that tell me what you think.

...

They're cute, but I can't tell if they're happy or not so I'd be scared of mistreating one without realizing it. I can't read bug body language.

As far as games go, I feel like its hard to do them in a way that doesn't feel like owls. This is a weird problem that I haven't figured out yet.

What should I do to make it, uh, spicy? I'm open to suggestions.

you could make it the usual we opened something alien that we really fucking shouldn't have

If she's frantically squirming and kicking, she's unhappy. If she snuggles up against you, she's happy.

Bugs don't have particularly subtle feels.

A giant species is herded by elves to produce gold silk for their bows. The moths feed on the sap of the elven giant tree.

That's it.

do they boil the cocoons too?

>As far as games go, I feel like its hard to do them in a way that doesn't feel like owls.
Make them decadent hookah-smoking 19th century Ottomans.

>ottomans

can someone explain this meme to me, because i honestly have no fucking idea why people love them so much.

Moths are the cutest fucking bugs

Jesus christ

So fluffy

I don't use them in my setting

the fur is actually scales

Damn, Veeky Forums is a goldmine for setting fluff!

Their society was foreign enough to be exotic, but not incomprehensibly alien like the Chinese and Hindoos.

Mix of weird middle and far eastern stuff with european ways.

I made a race of moth people in my setting named Mophits.

I love moths, but then again I'm trying to farm silk atm.

Drow in my homebrew ride dire moths and export their silk primarily.

Moths are adorable!

In regards to my setting there is a species of Dire Moths that exist in the northern half of the continent. They're unique in that they are the only thing, living or otherwise, that fey can not directly alter and act as a predatory species for fey. One of the party's fighters has a pet one he uses as a scout.

Mothfolk are a minor race in my setting. Their origins are unknown even to them, but they don't really care. As long as they can show off their beautiful wings, everything else comes second.

Well i think it's kind of obvious how TG feels about moths considering we homebrewed a race about them some time ago.
1d4chan.org/wiki/Mothfolk

moth threads are always my favourite Veeky Forums threads.

I remember those threads. Great shit.

>but then again I'm trying to farm silk atm
Why?

Not him, but your silk has to come from somewhere. Spiders or moths are your options, and even I would pick moths in that scenario.

Setting in the group I'm currently playing with is largely dominated by moth people. We have a moth person in our group, a bard. I'm playing a thri-kreen fighter/bard, so we're exoskeletal music buddies now.

Why not

Mods are asleep, post moths

moths are too pure for this world

Judging by the behavior of real moths, what would mothgirls be like?

blinded by bright lights

Posting moths

Sexually aroused by bonfires

Veeky Forums already made a homebrew mothfolk race with maximum weaboo background.

Well, depends. There's one moth that gouges at the eyes of deer and drinks the tears. Or the one that has a short, stout proboscis that it uses to pierce animal skins and lap at the blood (it has no use for the nutrients in blood, by the way, only the salt - it filters out the electrolytes and poops out perfectly intact blood cells). Or the one that sneaks into the egg-cases of spiders and eats the spiderlings. Or the one that lives in a case made out of the disembodied body parts of its former victims, tethered together with silk.

Or that one hawkmoth with genitalia that double as stridulatory organs. Imagine waking up at 4AM to loud squelching noises and having to listen to them until morning because your neighbor is some disheveled shut-in of a moth girl who enjoys masturbating in the middle of the night and doesn't seem to realize that her vagina amplifies sound to such an extent that you can hear every movement of her fingers from a block away.

Moths are horrifying.

...

Fuck you moths are cute

...

...

Cute and horrifying doesn't necessarily have to be segregated.

Or are you saying that my answer to a simple question was false?

that's just a girl in a costume though

...

...

This post is, verbatim, the same as a comment on e-hentai, from everyone's favorite mothgrill porno.

Why copy paste from there of all places?

...

Why

Not

...

Because I literally just read it, and it was a pefect to the question. A very lucky coincidence. I myself know nothing about moths.

...

...

...

>you will never have a giant moth companion

why live

DM has them as dangerous pests, they tend to live in abandoned spaces like attics, and shed chemicals throughout the area which mess with people's minds and eventually put them to sleep.

Then depending on the type they can do some horrible shit.

Like masturbate loudly?

No not that.

>Or the one that has a short, stout proboscis that it uses to pierce animal skins and lap at the blood
What?

>Or the one that lives in a case made out of the disembodied body parts of its former victims, tethered together with silk.
Why?

>Or that one hawkmoth with genitalia that double as stridulatory organs.
What?

The living horrors that are insects make me appreciate my spider overlords all the more. Until it literally starts raining spiders (here's lookin' at you, Straya).

carcass makes a good shielding, believe it or not.

I don't, usually. In-setting... well, since it's wild west, they're vaguely annoying things that flit around lanterns and campfires at night. That's about it.

>implying i wouldn't masturbate when i heard her start
>implying i wouldn't just want to bang her more, knowing the whole neighborhood can literally hear that i'm getting moth girl pussy

Why even live?

Moth is love, Moth is life

I had one of the heavenly ruins scattering the land populated by the mothfolk 'angels' of an insectile god of time.

exhentai.org/g/1001023/49af51aca8/

They're monsters who lure men to their deaths and play at being human.

>Day 3: the dust mites still haven't figured out I'm a moth in disguise

Didn't Veeky Forums try like eight times to make mothfolk?
