The heck's a "stat driven cyoa"?
Story always wins. They're called choose your own ADVENTURE for a reason.

The difference between you choosing three bars of strength and choosing an option that uses a metaphor or describes how strong you will be.

...

You're going to call back that autist if you post images like that.

>no male hero to end up with and love forever
And that is why this CYOA is and always will be shit, it completely misses the point of being the waifu, in comparison to choosing a waifu.

lol this gay boy wants to slurp weener lol

>not wanting to suck dick
Are you Fucking gay or something?

Okay

If you can't equate the first with one of the latter two, then the stats aren't used properly.

Hey straight-girl user, got some ideas for that "FemSub" CYOA you asked. I'll get started soon and finish it today.

>an option that uses a metaphor or describes how strong you will be.
How in the fuck is that a "story driven cyoa". I mean if that's the case then yeah I prefer that but that's not a story.

Stats just encourages minmaxing, which makes for less role playing.

Becomes less about making a fun build and more about making the best one.

"Stats" aren't stats either, they're just numbers that don't get used for anything. Both stats and story are abortive attempts in this context.

Stats are used as a measure of something. It's not an incredibly elegant or good option most of the time but saying it's not stats is just wrong.

Well "descriptions" are a measure of where your story is starting too. Same shit.

Strength: 8/10

"You're stronger and more powerful than any human who has ever lived and you're nearing the absolute physical limits of strength in our universe."

These are the same thing. The former is stats but the latter is not story. It's just a description.

I prefer story, but sometimes stats can help set out specific parameters that make the story clearer. They don't necessarily have to be mutually exclusive, Super Soldier CYOA handles the balance well in my opinion.

I'd still like some feedback for this: To clarify some misconceptions, it's going to be about building artillery forts the same way dungeon meister was about building dungeons

I have a feeling you're just being dumb on purpose.

I thought choices for this one are meant to be by column, right?

I believe we've spent a lengthy amount of time in at least two separate threads debating about this, with the author being firm in their stance that "no, it's one per row".

So without extras, you'd be getting four choices, and each of those choices would be either something relating to the demon, the angel, you, or something miscellaneous. And yes, all four choices can relate to the same thing.

Columns are actually rows

I'd take Labyrinthine Apartment, but I'm worried about the time limit. I have one hour on the first night, two on the second, four on the third, ... 512 on the tenth, and so on for up to a year.

That only gives me 75,153,362,648,762,663,292,463,379,097,258,784,876,021,841,565,066,235,862,633,311,089,030,688,803,667,470,190,838,367,948,312,598,497,021,919,231 hours in which to solve the mystery, or else I'll be trapped there forever! Is eight hundred thousand googol years really going to be enough?

Damn, I was going to say the same thing.

Also one of the examples the author gave was that you can't both be the little girl ("Be the girl") AND have sexy adult older sisters ("Big sisters") without taking some extras.

It's infinitely large, though. Plus I think it's reasonable to assume that the faceless people you see wandering around are other people who foolishly thought it would by easy-peasy with so much time. Frankly, I'm pretty sure you'd go insane before the end of the first real-time month.

I hope you're not the guy who did everything to reduce an actual discussion into empty semantics

Not very big compared to infinity.

A bit, yeah, but people were saying one thing and describing another.

If people are going to be wrong, I'm going to be autistic about it. There's an easy solution to this.

What'll happen when you wake up from a thousand years wandering the apartment? What about one million years in the apartment?

Will you be able to remember what your family looks like? How to do your job? How to drive a car?

How many companions feels about right to choose from a pool of 65?

Keeping in mind that the 65 is broken down into 13 classes with 5 characters for each.

Like, 6 or 7?

7, possibly 8 but 7 sounds pretty decent.

I'm fine with stat driven cyoas as long as they give me some indication of what the stats represent. For instance, I need to know what 10 STR actually means. What can I do with it? What am I as strong as?

Very true, anyone here already knows how to walk away from autists.

Depends on the nature of the companions. If it's an adventuring group I highly advise against going above 4. 2-3 is probably a better number if you want tight-knight dungeon diving, exploring, fightan buddies.

If it's more like the Firefly crew (only three real combat roles but a lot of specialists) then you could probably go up to the 6-7 range.

More options does not always equal more choices. Yes, players will whine about not getting to pick all of their waifus/husbandos. You can either let them trade some other currency for another pick or tell them to go fuck themselves.

They can always Sartre themselves up some extra companions anyway.

You better put the best waifu's in the first ten slots.

One month is well over a hundred thousand years already. Point is the time limit is largely irrelevant - you have as long as it takes, and that's the real problem.

>tried not to underestimate exponential growth
>failed

Well, at least I said "before the end" of a month.

65 sounds like way too many companions in the first place unless they're each only a sentence or three long in description, at which point they're so shallow as to not even be attractive.

I highly recommend lowering the total number to 39 and keeping at no higher than 5.

>If it's more like the Firefly crew (only three real combat roles but a lot of specialists) then you could probably go up to the 6-7 range.

It's a Blake's 7 knockoff, so it's basically exactly the Firefly crew. First instinct was to stay true to brand, and go for the crew of 7 (including the protagonist), but now I'm thinking that since almost everyone will want to choose an engineer, pilot and medic regardless of build, it doesn't leave many slots for the rest.

>Marcher Man, blessed by Orqlios
>Red Mage, with Thunder Clap, Blizzard, Divine Shield, and Spellsteal

>Winter is Coming (Diplomatic)
>The Caravan (Combative)
>Rebellious Son (Diplomatic)
>Dark Cult Clearing (Combative)
>Moth Dealers (Combative)
>The Ebony Fist (Combative)
>Season Unending (Diplomatic)
>Peasant Revolt (Diplomatic)
>Harpy Raids (Diplomatic)
>The Black Knight (Combative)

>Companions: Thane Finn Hjalmarson, Runa Hegadottir, Gerard, Nelcera Larathal

>Artifact: Iron Bracelet

>Marriage: Princess Helena

Just one personal preference, but I at least don't usually pick a pilot in those sorts of things if I can be one instead. It is true those aren't really command-type roles, though, which is probably what the people playing the CYOA are going to assume they have.

>Big Sisters
>Little Boy
>Archdemon: Greed
>Devil-Mother
>Shared Room
>Let's go shopping!
>Archangel: Kindness

This author should just call himself Border Guy.

I'll just leave this here

Feel free to post suggestions and criticisms

Scientist senpai, when is Necromancer coming out?

wrong file

Just do what I do: When the author can't control his autism and keeps adding companions, only read the ones who are cute girls.

and the plan

What if all companions are cute girls? Only read the cutest ones?

>you have as long as it takes
But it's infinitely large.

But he already calls himself "strife", as seen in the top-right corner.

Yes. Always only read ten companions.

Jokes on you it's like 70/30 split waifus to husbandos.

I remember when people would wait for the community to give them a name rather than just naming themselves all willy nilly. This is how you end up with shadow the hedgehog.

Overwatch meme CYOA when?
I'll make a CYOA for you if you do.

Didn't we already have one (or two)? Or were they not meme enough?

Has no one got anything to say or are you giving me the silent treatment?

Jokes on you I don't give a shit.

Dude I've posted entirely new cyoas that got ignored for the entire thread. Just give it some time you flaming homolich.

Hopefully never. Overmeme is awful.

Yeah, sometimes it takes a while but all CYOAs tend to get some attention.

It's another reason why the people looking for the most perfectest time of day and thread age to post their CYOA are retarded.

I don't want a roommate CYOA or them to be used as companions for a DOOM CYOA, I mean a CYOA using only Overwatch memes.
Overwatch memes makes life worth living.

Oh, ok, sorry

What is a "homolich"?

One would presume it to be shorthand for "homosexual lich", or something to that effect.

I already told you I haven't watched Star Wars.
Pls post.

I don't read (text) pdfs unless it seems that other people are.

Fine, it was mostly a shitty joke I cooked up in thirty minutes though.

>no vampirism
>can't improve the power of your minions by sharing your curse
>can't force adventurers to slog through Castlevania and vampire ninja maids to get to you or your fountain
It's pretty cool but not Dracula cool

You're not the only person in this thread

And you don't need to have watched SW to play it
