Warhammer quest

Is pic related any good? It's for sale at £60 in my local flgs, was thinking of picking it up for me b day.

I got this for Xmas and it's pretty fun so reckon I would probably like silver tower too, the minis look pretty cool too:

It's not the original and differs in mechanics and setting
So no.

I like it a lot. It's a dungeon crawler with warhammer figs, what's not to love?

It's average board game from modern GW, few good looking models, shit rules. If you don't have large Tzeench boner (because sorcerer and tzeench minotaur is only good looking models) better buy Descent.

Not fun on its own.

Fun as just "a thing to do with friends," but you can do much better than that for 60 britbux.

Pretty mixed responses so far, as I liked te card game I reckon I'll go for it, i'll mainly he playing with friends who I normally play 40k with so will be fun to have something different.

t.AoS casual who never played non GW games

Models are typical GW quality, and can be used for AoS if you play that.

The board game itself is a mess. Worst dungeon crawler board game I've played by a large margin. It requires constant reference to two poorly written rulebooks. Important rules, such as the win conditions, are hidden deep in the narrative book. The combat is unbalanced and worse than that, it's boring.

If you want to play a dungeon crawler, grab one of the Fantasy Flight games (Doom, Imperial Assault, Descent). There's also the DnD board games and Arcadia Quest if you want a DM-less dungeon crawler. Some people like Mansions of Madness, I've never played it myself. The new Conan game has been well received too.

If you want a GW game, grab Blood Bowl or Space Hulk.

>Blood Bowl
>100$
>for board game

The same thing applies to all of GW's board games. People still insist on buying them. Some are better than others, so if someone has to have one, might as well get one of the half-way competent ones.

To be fair, it's a really nice version of Blood Bowl.

>it's a really nice version of Blood Bowl.
Yeah because it's almost just old Blood Bowl, 100$ for board game is kind of jewish, 100$ for board game with old rules is already EternarAnglo tier.

Then don't be a fucking colonial.

So completely different rules suddenly makes it a better value for money?

You mean what?
>So completely different rules suddenly makes it a better value for money?
Nope, I just have mixed feels about new Blood Bowl, because I am glad that they used old BB rules, because current GW cannot into rules (especially for standalone board games), but on the other side I kind of feel like I was jewing since they just republish old rules with new models and let's be honest all old GW Specialist games rules plays a very clumsy today.

>bitch about new warhammer quest because it has new rules
>bitch about new blood bowl because it has old rules

You just cant make some people happy.

Ignore this retard. The game can be played extremely well with or without a GM incredibly easily. The rules are fun and flow natually and when you get to the final encounter with the Gaunt Summoner, you are going to experience an incredibly fun and unique boss battle.

>>bitch about new warhammer quest because it has new rules
Nope, because new rules are crap.
>>bitch about new blood bowl because it has old rules
Because GW trying to sell me old rules for 100$ (which is kind of high for board games).

What's Mantic's Heroquest clone like?

>GW trying to sell me old rules for 100$
Well, it's GW.
You pay for the overpriced minis and the rules are just a bonus anyway.

>black friday
>BB on sale for $69.99
>monthly coupon was 50% off one item
