Have you ever run a Transformers game Veeky Forums? What system is best for it?
Have you ever run a Transformers game Veeky Forums? What system is best for it?

I ran three transformer games. The first and second games used a crack system my friends and I came up with based off of the Tech Specs the toys used to come with. This worked somewhat, but only because we were mainly playing it for shits and giggles. Basically it was a d10 whitewolf TF game.
The second was Mechamorphosis, which is a really thin d20 supplemental. It really didn't make a whole lot of sense in terms of scale relating to character's powers. We just ditched it after a bit.
Yeah, I tried Mechamorphosis as well. Can't recommend it.
Never run it but I've seen notes for using WoD for Beast Wars and WEG Star Wars for G1. There's also one called Battlechangers or something like that.
Aside from that there are a homebrews around. I worked on one back in the day.

I've got some other PDFs but my internet is too shit to upload them.
As an aside, FunPub's Beast Wars Uprising continuity can make for an interesting campaign setting. The pose pdfs are free at the Transformers Collector's Club web site.

Wasn't someone converting Mekton Zeta to a giant TF game or something?

This is the one I played two campaigns in. Had a great time.
Here are some other homebrew TF RPGs.

IIRC vorked did this.

God do I know Veeky Forums abhors this but I ran a transformers game in the Cypher System (That's Numenera/Strange) once. To great success.
The specific limits and allowance the systems runs but gives it a very 80's cartoon feeling.
Yes there was one home-rule to make it work. Everyone got an additional function that reflected what they transformed into. Modeled it on the Were-wolf description/function, but changed the stats to make sense.
How cyphers and Artifacts feel and function was a homerun prefect fit into capturing the feel of the setting.

What system are these from? They look good, but are certainly not related to the post/game you are linking too.

It's vorked grimlock's hack of Dark heresy 1e. I'll try to upload it later.
A game that's too big to post here, I'll have to upload it somewhere else.
...
It has potential, although I'd much prefer one of the later variants as a system, like DH2.
Especially as Infamy/Influence/Whatever fits perfectly as Rank on the tech specs.
Did some playtesting on a friend's homebrew with a Cannonball run style race across Cybertron during its expansionist Golden Age.

Fuck, I was hoping this was something else.

We doing a Mosaic thread now?
It keeps the thread alive.
Try Battle Century G. Just merge the pilot and the mecha sheets, and you're good to go!
I toyed with a few different systems, both crunchy and rules light.
>Fate
This is the system I had the most success with. I tinkered around with it, and added some elements from the crunchier rule sets.
>Ubiquity
A stripped down die pool game similar to WoD. It has some streamlined mechanics for dealing with characters of varying sizes.
>Basic Roleplaying
Again a system where size matters. There is a set of superhero rules which proved to be useful.
>Mutants and Masterminds
This system looked like it would give me the most options, while still being manageable.
>Supersystem
An indie superhero wargame. I've always had a fondness for it, and wanted to turn it into a full fledged rpg one day. Kind of a stripped down version of Champions.
>Abberant
White Wolf's superhero system. Had some kind of energy mechanic. Seemed like an interesting way to make a "energon matters" style of game.
Cartoon Action Hour has its own "totally not Transformers" splatbook
I ended up making a few NPCS with Fate, and then work and school got in the way.

I don't suppose you could post a link to a PDF of this? I've wanted to snag a copy for ages, but I can't find it anywhere.
Have some fun fan fiction about a bunch of Raptorbots. Neat dynamic that feels properly toyetic.
/co/'s /tfg/ will probably have it.
It's licensed so it's official fiction :^)
Raptorgirls are 2cute

I used savage worlds with the super powers companion. Everyone gets "transform" as a free power, and they upgrade the different forms independently of each other with xp.
Thanks for the tip. If only there was a /tfg/ thread actually up over in /co/... huh, maybe in /toy/...
Seconding BCG. Its pretty good, tight and crunchy system for mecha stuff. Transformers fits right into it.
>a crack system my friends and I came up with based off of the Tech Specs the toys used to come with
... Chris?
/toy/'s doesn't have pirated material. /co/ used to have one 24/7 but I think they spammed a lot of porn, which led to deletions, which led to an exodus back to tumblr.

Got any more of these?
Always wondered what Plasma Foxes looked like after hearing about them in the animated movie.
Had the Insecticons alt form be the humanoid shape not the insect one. They were pulling a Mimic disguising themselves as their Cybertronian prey. Some eventually got 'domesticated' enough to function as jannisaries for the Golden Age's expansion.
At least better behaved than Sharkticons.
Sure, but they're fan-made

Last one I've got.
Uh... technically? Nahh.
Thank you for this exploration of the spark enriched fan fauna of Cybertron. A lot of these ideas can be repurposed for Engine Heart or someone's Zero Dawn homebrew.
The time taken and attribution to ZacWiliam is appreciated, user.
You're welcome, famigo.
