Pathfinder General /pfg/

So earlier, /pfg/ totally bullied and trolled a shy and unconfident GM into shutting down their game. Any other GMs want to step up and run this concept? The premise and the character creation rules can be tweaked as necessary.

Old Thread:

>So earlier, /pfg/ totally bullied and trolled a shy and unconfident GM into shutting down their game. Any other GMs want to step up and run this concept? The premise and the character creation rules can be tweaked as necessary.

No

>"1pp, Jolly, Forrest; no Leadership, Sacred Geometry, Blood Money, Simulacrum, or infinite/arbitrarily-high loops of any kind."

Ban full casters and the EX Turbo too and I'd be totally down for this game.

Are you going to make it happen user?

Holy hell, I've been away for two hours, did you guys fill another thread with lewdposting alone?

So. Orc-fu, Elf-fu, or Orc-Elf hybrid-fu? Which is best?

Why do we even call this Pathfinder anymore? This should be Magical Realm General.

>EX Turbo

What's that?

I genuinely don't understand.

I liked the fact that all of the main characters were absurdly huge.

Jojos should be MASSIVE and BUFF, not twinkish and Veeky Forums.

I'm working on the page for it now, and I'll do my best, but that's all I can promise.

TELL ME ABOUT A COUNTRY IN PATHFINDER

DESCRIBE IT TO ME LIKE I SHOULD WANT TO MAKE A CHARACTER FROM THERE

It's okay user, Araki grew out of that phase, I'm sure you can too.

Nah, it was better that Araki's artstyle changed, because his characters started looking more distinct than "Same body and face, different hair".

The EX Turbo is Forrest's most overpowered class yet. It's a spellburst savant.

Be sure to include lots of fey if you're doing the fey plot hook.

I tried to save it, but as usual I failed.

OSIRION

IT IS ANCIENT EGYPT (OLD/MIDDLE KINGDOM SPECIFICALLY) BUT WITH THE CULTURAL LONGEVITY OF PRE-COMMUNIST POST-HAN CHINA AND THEN SOME

THEY EVEN HAVE THE ACTUAL EGYPTIAN GODS IN CASE YOU WANTED TO SING ABOUT THEIR POWER

That may be, but the mind games and creativity of the powers got way better when the art style changed. I'd consider that a fair trade.

I have like 15 different tabs open trying to work on character gen
This feels a lot more complicated than 5e, which I guess was expected. I think what's giving me trouble is all of the acronyms.

What class would be best for an expy of Luna from Shadowverse?

Essentially, a necromancer who believes the spirits of her dead parents follow her around. To others, this is plausible due to her necromantic powers.

In truth, the spirits of her parents are just her own delusions.

The class should ideally have some method of conversing with spirits or other spiritual companion-like entities.

Shaman? Spiritualist? Shattered mind? Any class with a psicrystal that the character could claim to be a "soul gem"?

I'd probably just limit it to official sources published in the books. Core, Ultimate Combat/Magic/etc, and so on.

>EX Turbo
Basically she fucked up the math first time around, but some people LIKE fucked up math, so she went "Okay here's the high powered one, if you wanna play it with people who use Broken Blade and Primal Fury. For everyone else, here's the fixed one." Sorta like Unchained Summoner, the later one was nerfed, except she renamed the original the Ex Turbo to make it clear it was OP, rather than the non-indicative 'unchained'.

Like what?

>So earlier, /pfg/ totally bullied and trolled a shy and unconfident GM into shutting down their game. Any other GMs want to step up and run this concept? The premise and the character creation rules can be tweaked as necessary.

So fucked up.

I know I'm on the internet, and that's to be expected but holy shit. If you hate the concept so much then just ignore it, jeeze.

This is /pfg/ for Christ's sake. There's fucking anime faggotry everywhere, and you wanna bully someone over it?

Fluffy GM, if you're reading this please know I have respect for you for coming back to try again, and owning up to cancelling the game before.

People make mistakes, and it takes courage to admit them.

Hope you're okay.

The regular spellburst savant is kinda ... flat, and best suited to normal-optimization pathfinder first party groups. It'll fit in well as a magus alternative in a team of rangers and paladins. The kind of class that sells on the paizo site well enough.

The Turbo version was actually the original spellburst savant version, which had 5e style super-cantrips with limited spellcasting, to be a more all-day offensive warlock type. It's meant to match up with high-optimiziation ceilings such as veterans with PoW or SoP characters, psion/wilder types, and so on.

Quit complaining and get back to lewd generation.

t. thirsty kemonomimi "IT'S NOT FURRY" lewdfag.

Look at Soul Weaver from SoP, it's literally constantly followed around by spirits, and if it's a captured spirit of a specific creature they can talk to it freely.

Don't encourage him.

He's just trying to troll all of us with his flakeyness.

I CAN BE THE MORNING AND THE EVENING STAR? THE NILE MADE FLESH, BOUNDLESS VIRILITY HIDING VICIOUS CROCODILIAN DANGER?

Well, if you're doing that hoping for balance, just give up. The most broken stuff remain the original core classes, and that's in both directions (a core-book-only-monk was about as bad as you could get after all, and the non-unchained rogue is basically a shittier version of every other character with trapfinding every).

This isn't a joke. Most of us are on here because the sheer scale and amount of material and optimization lets us spend hours crunching out characters when everyone else at work is only watching porn.

I would rather not use Spheres of Power, but the suggestion is appreciated.

It is such a shame that the soul weaver is one of the more underwhelming high spherecasters.

If this is still Gebrek's guy shilling, just go on F-list and have a wank. Calm down, dude.

PROBABLY

Gestalt, the tenatively allowed 3pp that isn't spheres of power, and a few other little things.
Just so I'm not doing something horribly wrong, PB is the point buy total, and WBL is wealth by level?
Also, what folder in the Mega is 'In the Company of Dragons' located?

I'm trying real hard fampai

Second
It wasn't going to apply, but I gave honest feedback and shared genuine ideas to help.
It's a game. You're meant to have fun with others.
Have Fun.
It's really not that hard to ignore something you won't think is fun.

He didn't flake, though.

Flaking is setting a date, acting like it's going down, then just not showing up.

He cancelled the game way before there were really any concepts nailed down.

It was a genuine attempt to run something that clearly some people around here would be interested.

He should grow thicker skin, but still man. I just want everyone to be nicer to eachother.

>If this is still Gebrek's guy shilling, just go on F-list and have a wank.

I'm not that guy, honest! I'm just having some fun with neat country ideas, nothing lewd about it!

Why not do 1pp only + Forrest + Jolly, no full casters or EX Turbo?

This gives people lots of options.

Allowing Path of War in its pre errata state is... really hard for a new GM to balance. Really, REALLY hard. Especially if the rest of the party is more low key tier 3s.

>He cancelled the game way before there were really any concepts nailed down.

We call that "flaking" around here.

You know, that's fair. Although not the banning of fullcasters, since sometimes it's fun to just be a Sorcerer and be the biggest Megumin rip-off in the world.

how do you do a healer if full casters are banned?

Bard, paladin, whatever.

As the person who suggested they close, I am genuinely sorry if they were being sincere, but I also truly did feel there was too much evidence it was a troll at the time.

It wasn't any sort of personal grudge or dislike for the campaign setting.

I also firmly believe that the negative attention they would have gotten over two months if it stayed open would have been worse.

The answer is "You don't," it's just not worth it.

I mean, even the vitalist, DSP's full manifester healer? It's STILL BETTER when it's a life leech/sadist instead of an actual healer.

I'm not especially familiar with Pathfinder to begin with, so delving into homebrew is pretty much out of the question. Finding out that the worst offenders are in the core books doesn't inspire me with a great deal of confidence about the feasibility of such a game.

Why is it so hard to find a game where I can roll dice, enjoy combat and then later get lewded? I've already run three lewd pathfinder games. I just wanna play one already!

Shut my mouth, then.
Here's some cool shit.

What ever happened to "be excellent to each other" man

>Why not do 1pp only + Forrest + Jolly, no full casters or EX Turbo?

Because I have never run a game of Pathfinder before, and I have no idea what you just said (outside of EX Turbo, explained earlier in the thread).

What about rolling dice and then getting lewded mid combat by enemy wolves

Forrest and Jolly are specific third-party material authors. Full casters are casters who get up to 9th-level spells.

I can deal with that at this point.

What about just 1pp only, no full casters, no Blood Money/Sacred Geometry/Simulacrum?

I'd be cool with that, I totally would!

Hm, user's right, that's not flaking.
I've dealt with a lot of flakes, and "yeah, guys, this future game won't be happening" ain't flaking.

>yeah hey listen the bus is taking its sweet time because of all the traffic I'll be about half an hour late, just make sure you've got your characters ready
*when we can hear the login theme of motherfucking WoW and his microwave just dinged*
THAT'S flaking.

As if there was ever any hope of that.

See:

Go on.

Personally, I'd want some PoW even if just the archetypes to make 1pp martials less boring.

One of my players was brutally pulverized to death by an Ogre's greatclub during a torrential downpour and his nearly dead friend killed the beast to avenge him.

What was the most recent death in your game like?

PoW is really, reeeeeeeally hard for a totally new GM to balance combat for.

Especially before the errata.

...

Where is the errata?

None of us have actually died.

Only one fight has ended without me having to be healed up from the negatives.

Watch it turn out to be someone else who bites it first.

look, I know hearing "well if you don't like it go play something else" sounds pretty childish, but take it as an honest piece of GOOD advice.

Pathfinder isn't a good game.
Many games are good games.
Pathfinder's not one of them.
We're mostly here because everyone else we know only plays it because everyone else they know only plays it, or because we're simply THAT assburgered.

Have you considered other systems? 5e's got its problems but it's not all that busted, Unchained Heroes is pretty cool, Rolemaster's a lot better than some people give it credit for, The Dark Eye is quite good, Iron Kingdoms RPG is great fun too, hell you might even enjoy Pendragon?

Run Chuubo's with maximum comfy!

Magus flew back into an enemy army 'cause she was hoping taking out the rune-engraved commander might disrupt his forces.

It didn't. Last she ever saw was gelugons converging from literally every direction.

>And that's how I learned not to go straight into casters directly after having played a barbarian for years.

Hmmm, this is pretty interesting. I think I'll be using this as my next character concept if I find a game...

I'm still here. I'm so sorry. It was a bad and stupid idea to make that listing so early just because other games did. I'll be sure to make a listing only when I'm totally sure I can run a game soon.

Well my Atomic Adept nuclear dragon concept got shot down with no real explanation why. Maybe a Dragon motif Henshin Hero instead? Make the transformation like an enchanted scale of Mama Dragon? Be some sort of Draco-cop perhaps.

Run Golden Sky Stories for /pfg/!

Run Fellowship PbtA!

Both are nice, good, and comfy!

In the Company of Dragons is in the Rite Publishing folder.

I got killed by an ambush in the local tavern from some PoW using assassin. The DM had apparently been noticing my "unsinkable" nature and vowed to take me down at least once during the campaign.

He didn't expect me to actually *die* from the encounter, so while he insisted I could still be saved I declared my character was dead, dead, dead. Poor guy just wanted some excitement in his position, but I felt like twisting that dagger and boy oh boy did I make him squirm.

No deaths (it's a light-hearted game) but one of the characters was knocked unconscious and had their hip dislodged by minotaur last session.

My druid was executed by elven cultists. Shot in the back of the head with an arrow at point blank range.

Thankee

This user speaks the truth.

probably because you expressed having no interest in not protecting the party.

that's like saying "well I don't care if they eat my fireballs, they can just buy fire fire immunity"

-which you flat out state, except 'poison' rather than 'fire'.

Most of your pitch was also "I won't have to worry about any of this because I'll take immunity to the drawbacks" too.

Sounds light-hearted and lewd.

Before it was cancelled, our last game saw us running afoul of a Deep One cult. Our cleric was torn apart by a horde vicious hybrids after we discovered their deception-probably better that he died then rather than get taken alive by those monsters. Our skald nearly suffered an even more horrible fate, but we managed to recover her before anything too awful could happen.

This! Break the cycle! And maybe save one or two of us as well!

This sounds about right.

>minotaur
>hip dislodged

O-oh my...

Oh boy.

My character has been ganked by an animated/undead scythe into the negs.
Swarmed by and downed by wights (but saved by hero points).
Downed and dragged off to be dissected later, only to be brought back by a potion. Then pulled a crazy, yet successful, acrobatic leap to land back in front of their captor. Finally dropped the surprised alchemist with an attack of opportunity as he went to drink a potion of invisibility.

That's all the near-death experiences

Sounds like people wanna play a D&D 5e game. Any takers?

Text, No lewds, no weebs, no comfiness. If people are interested, I'll post contact info.

Why are minotaurs the go-to "large insertion" race when we've got stuff like centaurs and giants?

Could be. What's warlocking like nowadays?

Just saying DM-kun, if you want to switch over to the much more learner-friendly 5e, I can teach
-t. setting user

Centaurs too awkward, giants tend to be too big for non-lethal "large insertion". Sweet spot is a creature around 8-10 feet tall, not 20+.

>no lewd
>no weeb
>no comfy
kys

Because they're big, but not hugely so like giant, and still humanoid, unlike centaurs.

You can get the same result from a 7'-8' tall werewolf.

not enough people use giant lamias

A true shame

you're responding to the wrong guy.
try hitting on the right people, it works a lot better!

I meant to double link but forgot because I'm distracted

That and because their head is an animal, they basically get to do this guilt-free.

>No see I'm not a slut, I was forced by a monster, there's nothing I can do. I'm ESPECIALLY not cheating on my boyfriend since I'm forced to by this animal.

>werewolf

Yes, please.

Is it bad that I find Chimney Sweep to be a fun and interesting class?

You know less spells and cast far less spells than other primary casters, and your spells are a little more specialized, but ALL YOUR SLOTS are maximum level slots, so you're going full bore every time you cast a spell, and recover them all after any rest.

You get pact gifts that give you edge benefits and gain spell-like abilities that are better than cantrips and can be used at-will every now and then.

I mess up when I'm upset, and this is a moment where something on the internet made me super mad. In b4 "you mean like always?" and such.

I just want to gather all of those fucking bullies up and force them to go through an entire Hayao Miyazaki movie inspired journey where through great adversity and suspenseful hijinks they learn to be just a little bit less shitty.

There would be a big friendly serpentine dragon who offers them a ride across the acid lake, but they call him a faggot so he dejectedly flies away. Then they would shitpost and troll eachother for many days, scaring away the few people who offer them help with crossing the acid lake. When they're about to starve to death, a little kitsune grandma approaches them and offers them grandma candy that turns out to be so fucking good and magically nutritious. She's a little grandma, so she can't take them across. So she brings them back to her little grandma cottage and makes them do chores. During their stay, the people that they bullied eventually show up one after another, and little grandma kitsune makes the bullies apologize to each one of them.

In the end, all of the bully victims help the bullies cross the acid lake so they can return home. Once on the other side, they try to keep up the facade with a shaky and stuttering "K-kek thanks for nothing! B-bye, f-faggotss!" The bullies break down and start crying Miyazaki crocodile tears and then they hug their new anime friends goodbye.

Also the Kitsune grandma was secretly some kind of nature spirit or whatever, we care about the enviornment.

The End!

Why 5e? Why not Fate or Fellowship or Golden Sky Stories?

Why no weebs and no comfiness?

Congratulations, we've found the most pathetic poster in this thread. and it's you!

Everyone died to Babaus sent through a portal by a half-demon after we broke a shiny rock!

Then we all got possessed by heroes of old, kicked the shit out of the babaus, and learned we all now effectively had a second character.

>What user did not tell you though is that you won't have as many max level slots as other casters until your third short-rest of the day, most parties only do two (lunch and supper or the like), and highest-1 and highest-2 slots are pretty fucking useful too.

That and if you want to actually do good damage your warlock hex uses one of your two slots for every rest, and it's a concentration spell at that.

That's fine.
In the end you did convince someone you were sincere about making the game.

Hope you have the time to run that game in the future Fluff user.
