I can't paint thin lines very well. I tried technical Pens, but I couldn't find a white one that wasn't huge. I'm trying to do white to blue with white scar and Alaitoc. White first then put blue on after that, or should I do the base blue color to thin the lightning?

you dont need to paint thin lines when you fix them afterwards with the base color blue

I'm actually going to do Pride of the Legion with Vox scouts and teleporting terminators. I'll probably have a Contemptor and a squad of vets in Dreadclaws backed up by infiltrating Volkite terror squads. Depending on points, I'll add raptors with or without a Vigilator.

I wish there was something to represent a captain, though. Praetors feel like they're higher up the chain of command.

I like starting with the dark blue base, then painting thick medium lines (1/4" or .5cm wide), thinner light blue in the middle, then very light blue lines, and finally pure white at the corners of the previous step.

But you'd be losing out on so many good options user particularly power daggers those things are fucking awesome

Delegatus isn't a bad stand-in. He's basically the old force commander/lieutenant marine from 3/4e, and lets you take rites.

Decima has a "Recommended" model in the FW Titan Tech-Priest. I just wish they gave him proper Magos stats and Invictus Archmagos stats, since he counts as one.

Including special rules? You can come close by taking Armored Breakthrough to minimize the number of units you have with the Legiones Astartes (insert legion) rules. Only the Delegatus would have the rules.

The Fellblade's more fun because it's always useful. The Falchion is (obviously) amazing against super-heavies but lousy against anything else. It's a hard counter to one type of unit and it's hard for that kind of thing to be fun.

This is Warhammer, bikes (jet or otherwise) are used in cityfights all the time. Istvaan III wouldn't have been any exception.

As for Istvaan V, it was a siege only in the opening stage to bait the Loyalists forward. As soon as that was accomplished, units like jetbikes and landspeeders would've had an advantage over the rocky plains.

Havocs yes, they are HSS marines with Hiiiiigh noon skills. But not Tyrants, they're not a regular unit by all means.

I don't get this argument. There were already full kits for Mk III marines, Mk IV marines, catapractii termis, and tartaros termis, but they did them in plastic anyway.

I'm not counting the contemptor because the plastic one really isn't a substitute for the resin ones.

The Medusa is (despite what it seems on paper) a crapshoot in my experience, a good Vindicator will serve you a lot better.

Why not Terminators? It's fluffy, cool, and useful. Or some specialty troops, they'll usually kill far more than they cost
