Could be interesting if it wasn't D&D.

It certainly is a show.

Playing the "how long until roosterteeth fag shows up" game i see

Wha?

I don't know much about it except for the fact that they invited Wil Wheaton on it. I'm already biased against it.

gross

Wheaton does a fine job on the board game webshow he has. If you just ignore everything he says on Twitter he's a lot more tolerable.

Pretty good. Sam Riegel can be a bit of a that guy at times, but I like the group and how into character they get overall.

The hell does Rooster Teeth have to do with this?

Really? I thought Sam's the best one

I thought we were playing "wait until someone claims ____ as a waifu"

Not him, but for the last few threads some maniac who is totaly not carnac went on a triade about how CR is the devil and how his friend forces him to watch it before rambling of incoherently about roosterteeth and nu-gaming... In his first post... He goes on to post 20< of them

Along the same vein, what do people think about other similar shows? Like Acquisitions Inc., the Curse of Strahd Campaign that was done with ProJared n junk, or even Harmonquest?

Literally who.

There's a market to watch people play TTRPGs?

He's not bad generally, but I thought shitting in a random bed and magically enlarging his cock to show to the lady they just rescued from being tortured was a bit much.

It's a podcast where a bunch of voice actors play D&D.

The only two I was able to stick with for any amount of time were RollPlay and The Adventure Zone. The Adventure Zone almost doesn't count, since it's honestly just a bunch of improv comedians doing their thing with 5e as a framework and situation generator.

RollPlay has Koebel, and as insufferably hipster as he is he seems like a nice dude and is an excellent GM. I also watched his show with Steven Lumpkin, "Being Everything Else", about GMing. They have a tendency to go up their own asses when analyzing stuff, but they're both experienced GMs and at least manage to be interesting about it. It's also kind of their spot to vent about the shit that goes down on RollPlay, where they stream their GMing, and that's fun to see.

I like it. It started off rough but the Briarwood Arc and everything after that has been solid entertainment.

Yeah, after they left the underdark seems to have marked an increase in quality. Mercer is an amazing DM

I don't really care about it.
I would care about it a lot if they showed different systems and reviewed games and stuff, not just DnD. As far as I know that's not the case, but I haven't looked into it in a loong time.

Are there even any shows that don't do D&D exclusively?

Meh, I'll admit that RT's show isn't as entertaining as CR, but I hadn't watched CR and Heroes and Halfwits gave me the kick in the pants to finally find an online group and start my first game. Do you have a link to this autist's posts? I'd like to see it for myself.

RollPlay does various RPGs. Here's a one-off of them doing Dogs in the Vineyard (including Tycho from Penny Arcade playing a game online instead of in-person for the first time ever, apparently, for those who care about that).

Matt Mercer's there too as another player, for those who care about him.

I'm something like 8 episodes in to Adventure Zone and it's a bit painful to be honest.

Western Marches is quite an interesting show on Rollplay - Lumpkin GMing quite well in an experiment of hexcrawling in 5e. Haven't really watched the others.

Google delivers this

It's pretty good. Nice voice acting, decent party chemistry (having heard games where it's clear the players are not only not friends but don't like each other this is probably the most important things - hearing people who don't like each-other trying to play a game is asking for cringe), Matt's a good DM and some of the players put some actual effort in from time to time. Has its flaw, but solid enough.

Acquisitions Inc. is strong on comedy and the videos have the best set-porn there is. However you're not going to get emotionally invested in any of them.

Acquisition's Inc. is funnier than I really expected it to be. It helps how much the dudes playing know each other.

Mike: "You like contracts, right? You're a contract guy."
Jerry: "I read contracts in lieu of conventional pornography, yes."

There's Swan Song, which is a Stars Without Number campaign.

It didn't interest me. It's too slow and the characters and situations didn't seem interesting enough to sit through 3 hour episodes.

I've enjoyed Acquisitions inc and a few other DnD videos, though.
