> HELLO LITTLE FLESHLING, CAN YOU DIRECT ME TO YOUR PHARON?

Is Genecult vs Tau fun? Maximised shooting vs maximised assault?

Not really. Cheap Markerlights and easily available BS buffs means that when playing against Tau, you're being continually hit on a 3+ and killed on a 2+ with no cover or armour saves.

GSC assaults are mostly looking for good rolls on the Cult Ambush table, which means they're coming in from reserve. So either they don't roll a 6, so they take Interceptor fire and then get mopped up by other units as they sit around waiting to charge, or they do roll a 6, and take Interceptor fire then get gutted by multiple units firing Overwatch via Supporting Fire.

Any Britbongs ITT know a good alternative to Wayland Games? After waiting FOUR months for my latest order and finding out they deleted my rewards account I'm pretty much through with them.

How about Best Aspect Edition?

What army do you play? I know your pain. I play Corsairs and I'm getting pissed I can't indulge Veeky Forums's latest meme, even though the app has Hornets yet for some reason not Wasps or Lynx

Glorious DKoK

We should Make our own list builder With SoB and Forgeworld

...

The only thing stopping me from playing your list is a lack of requisite fucks to buy, assemble and paint that much fineshit.

Really? Well shit, I guess I won't even bother emailing the dude then if he hates FW armies.

It has SoB now but it's IA so no Celestine

Too bad I can't into programming
I'll cheer you on though. All the way

The cadian pylons weren't created by the Necrons?

SoB didn't exist till IA, and they existed before FW.

Also for some reason Rhinos for SoB are there. No sane SoB player uses them is either Repressors or Immolator.

That's the only thing stopping me too to be frank. No point playing a birdhost unless I can field it in its full glory, as the most aesthetic Aspect deserves.

At least it's a long-term goal.

They were made by a C'tan I believe.

Dammit user i cant program either i was hopping someone else would tow the line while i cheer them on.

Use battlescribe.

The last time i used battlescribe the entire program had an update which then ruined all my lists and corrupted them so i perfer not to.

Shit nigga, this site seems awesome. Is there a catch? I noticed limited items but I have a group so that's not a problem.

Till they updated it.

Finally the thing was working stable enough.

Fuck it pull the plug!

I am thinking of getting a knight and i found this online anyone know how to recreat that effect?

Looks like he used a thin texture paint layer on the pad then heavily drybrushed the whole thing.

fucking gneius

RAW this is legal, tell me otherwise.

It's fully legal, just like my 4 Wraithknight list :^)

Can't take terminator weapons if you don't have terminator armor.

dies to deathwatch with s6 two shot rending lascannon flamers

take a landraider instead

Why do people get butthurt when you remind them that 40K is about the Imperium vs Chaos at its core?

Not a restriction in the Terminator Captain Unit Sheet.

I mean, I seriously hope you guys don't do this, but that's not an actual restriction.

Because it isn't. It's a setting with a multitude of races and galactic drama, of which Imperium versus Chaos happens to take center stage more often than not because of both GW's ans the fans' raging homoerections for Space Marines.

Because it's actually about the Imperium (declining Rome) vs Orks (barbarian hordes) at its core.

SPUSS MAEREENZ being the archetypal power fantasy probably has something to do with it.

Based tau, curing the genestealer infection both in lore and in game.

>implying 40k is that cohesive.
Shit has a million different themes and many of them developed organically because the setting used to be parody.

...

>>implying 40k is that cohesive.
I mean, it's kinda outright stated by Alan Merrett.

Its a restriction in the terminator weapons list.

Does that make it centered around that?

Well, it has more of an evidenced-backed argument than the chaos stance, which would be better suited for 30k than 40k.

That's why RAWfags are the cancer of any game.

>terminator weapons

I don't think I get this objection, Thunder Hammers and Lightning Claws are on the melee weapons list.

Catapractii termi captains can only take from the Codex: Space Marines Terminator Weapon list.

Becuase it is yerminator armour. i give no fucks what word play you try and use, it IS cataphractii TERMINATOR armour

I'm new to this game-- trying to build a Kill Team list for IG. Can I take an Infantry Squad without it being in a platoon? Or do I need a platoon commander and all that shit?

The horus heresy is the origin story for the entire setting and it's about chaos emerging.

Getting back into the hobby after not pIaying since 5th.
Went and Iooked through what I have, got 8 space marine bikes, an attack bike, a Iand speeder, a rhino and a squad of death company assauIt marines that badIy need to be stripped.

Don't have many funds (poor uni student) and I'm not super interested in buiIding a super good tournament army, I just want to pIay BIack TempIars (aIways Iiked their aesthetic) but I have a IocaI group of guys I might pIay with sometimes so I stiII want to have a reasonabIe Iist in mind to aim towards when I make purchases.
Any ideas what I shouId be getting? I was thinking of having a not-Jaghatai Khan HQ (got heaps of bits to work with, incIuding some nice Grey Knight spears) to go aIong with the bikes and then some tac marines with rhinos. What eIse?
If it matters, I know one dude pIays Dark AngeIs, there are 2 Tau pIayers and the rest not sure.

While rational people agree with you, the counter-argument is that GW, in their infinite wisdom, didn't say "cataphractii termy armor counts as termy armor. (period)" They put in the effort to list exactly where they wanted it to count as termy armor and not one lick more.

>spend all evening basing till midnight.
>Still two rows of lasguns plus heavy teams and scions

At least this guy looks excited about it

You'll need to take an Infantry Platoon, yes. It's not all bad though, because you can neatly field an entire platoon with your 200 points, giving you a taste of how a traditional FOC army is build and plays.

I'm in favour of it being RAW legal- it means me and my buddies can get a few chuckles and if anyone turns up and tries to play it we instantly know who to exclude.

No. The Horus Heresy is many things, and certainly the beginning of the decline (and fall), but "origin story for the entire setting" it is not. Too much happens before it. Too much happens after it. Too much of 40k has nothing to do with it at all.

Alright, thanks. I think I'll play without specialists for the first few games just to avoid confusion

>GW is shit at ruleswriting
Your point? There's clear RAI there, and any autist who actually tried to pull it in real life would just get declined games, or get his ass handed to him by a list that can deal with his third-rate one-man deathstar.

You have to take a platoon but it's alot of bodies for the points. You could also take Veterans by themselves if you want a smaller force with more effective shooting options. You can fit a fully kitted Vet team plus Chimera in under 200

My point is in my post, you dolt.

are "formations" ever employed in actual play or are they all considered cheesy or overpowered or unpractical?

And I'm saying your point is retarded. Veeky Forums argued the Smashfucker Prime meme long enough before you came along and reposted in an effort to farm (You)s from a slow thread, but, like Triptide in 750 points or multiple Wraithknights, anyone who actually tried to ruleslawyer their way into playing the dude would either not get a game, be told to shut the fuck up and take his cheese to a different store, or get a game with someone who outcheeses him and shuts down his gimmick anyway.

If you're going to be that autistic about it, shoot an email to GW inquiring as to whether it was intended to be legal or not.

Honestly, if someone built, modeled (down to the flail), and painted a smashfucker, I'd play him with no hesitation. Maybe not every time, but I'd consider it a fun little challenge.

I don't think anything can beat that model in cc save maybe one or two monstrous IC's.
With a retinue of stormshield lightning claw vets, apothecary and ML2 libby throwing out a 2+ inv from Sanctuary all with an extra attack from the standard you'd have to dedicate a task force to this unit.

Depends on your meta. Their use is pretty widespread, and personally I think they could be good for the game, it's just that there are a number of them that allow you to spam cheese units or that give you absolutely ridiculous benefits, and they need to go. Fluffy formations that make shit units viable are one thing, but players shouldn't be rewarded with insane buffs for taking decent or good units and spamming the fuck out of them.

He goes down to anything swinging the D like the little bitch he is. Remember, he's I1 against anything tough, so he'd have to contend with Stomp as well, and its no-fucks-given 6 result.

No, you dolt. If you weren't so busy choking on cock, you'd notice that your own post parrots my own with far more juvenile aggression and far less composure.

Since you clearly haven't noticed by now, I'll say it more simply: I'm agreeing with you. Hell, I'll even quote myself:

>rational people agree with you

Now seriously, calm your tits.

No catch. Best shop in the world.

If he takes the shield eternal he's stuck with a power sword so he's not threatening at all. Normal smashfucker actually works compared to the RAW cata version.

Can't he still get gorgon?

If you are going for black templars then you should wait for month or two before buying anything big as Templars are getting some lore and/or game stuff in the next expansion of Fall of Cadia. That being said, kill team box gives you a tactical squad and rulebook for cheapish price (and you can sell the fire warrior squad to the tau players if they want them). Start collecting is a nice box if you don't care about being super competitive and the new assault box (drop pod+tac squad) has some nice dollar value.

Bikes with gravguns are the cookie cutter units for marines atm.

Sure, but he can only take one relic, so he has to choose between gorgon's and an ap 2 weapon.

He can take a thunder hammer.

are primers necessary at all or can you just apply gw's citadel shit directly onto the model and be good to go?

You NEED a primer, don't even thinking about painting unprimed. You have a choice of spray or brush-on, but whatever you choose, never forget to use it.

I don't have gravguns in my bits for my bikes because even though they're unbuiIt its the ravenwing battIeforce set from 5th ed.
Gravguns avaiIabIe on ebay I guess?
I don't pIan on buying anything new untiI I buiId and paint everything I've got pretty much anyways so aII good.

As another user pointed out, smash on a bike relies on cata termy armor not counting as termy armor. However, the thunder hammer also relies on him having termy armor, so you can only have one, not both.

Where are the Fall of Cadia leaks?

The hammer is also a regular melee weapon, it's just more expensive for non-termies. Either way, he can have one, and a lightning claw too for that matter.

He doesn't have access to the melee weapons list.

No he cant, becuase he can ONLY select weapons from the termintor list, which he then cant take anything from

I think what's being argued is that both options are listed so both can be taken, supported by an errata.

As was also said only a few posts ago, he does not have access to regular melee weapons.

The fact that its listed also implies he is ment to be a termintor therefor also invaldating smashfucker prime

That's not being argued, and there's no such errata. Feel free to prove me wrong though. I'd actually like to see that.

How bad is the flameblade strike force for sallies? I fucking love those green n black bastards but I'm wondering if it needs to be a massive 2000 army to fit that formation, and how's a good way of running it?

>Haven't gotten a game of 40k in months
>Haven't bothered to finish my two last squads of Dev Marines

Pretty sure I am going to try and sell off my secondary army and just keep my Dark Angels.

If I try to piece out my 3000pts of Necrons what are the chances I sell everything but 50 warriors?

This abject RAW abuse an counterabuse is fucking retarded. I'm remembering that for if I ever have to argue down some idiot who wants to field this walking meme, though.

Newb question, but do the +1 Attack bonuses from standards stack if a model is in the influence range of multiple allied standards? For example, an IG conscript horde in range of the IG banner and the Sisters of Batter banner?

Marine players are fucking up 30k/40k

They do, unless they specify otherwise.

multiple instance of tge same bit of wargear dont stack, unless specfically stated to.

Honestly I just posted that photoshop to start a shitstorm but I'd always been a proprietor of actually good chapter masters. Marine HQ seems pretty dreadful otherwise.

Really makes you think.

Yeah, but i'm right, that other guy is a tool.

So what do we think lads? Viable?

We're both correct here. Two standards of the same type don't stack, but two standards from different armies would.

I dont think they do, they are still the same bit of war gear, so why would it matter what detachment they belong to?

You're a better man than me if you have the endurance to move all those gribblies. Movement and the enemy shooting phase are going to be long slogs.
