>forgot half the OP, including the important parts with the pastebin and chummer
Oliver Campbell
This has been a pretty bad week for /srg/ OPs in general.
Aiden Diaz
>eating for two
That gets me thinking. Has anyone's runner ever gotten knocked up? Did they keep it? What's child rearing and pregnancy like in general in the shadow community? Besides tremendously irresponsible and probably traumatic.
Adrian Davis
There's an entire shadow-nanny underworld.
If there's one rule of humans, it's that people are going to fuck and end up with kids. It doesn't matter what your profession is. It doesn't matter what your economic bracket is. People - as a whole - are going to keep fucking and keep having kids. Treating it as a matter of responsibility/irresponsibility instead of just part of the human condition isn't going to work out for anyone.
Anyway, the great thing about being a shadowrunner parent is that probably 20+ days per month are completely available for full-time parenting. It's a drain to have to put more food on the table and pay for a sitter on work days, but that's why the Dependents quality increases your Lifestyle costs.
And really, if you're SINless, there's no better way to get your kid a High lifestyle than shadowrunning.
Joseph Scott
There's a 9 karma negative quality for that in Blood and Bullets. When you're done carrying the kid to term, the quality is replaced either by a 9 point Dependent quality or 9 points of negative qualities that represent how sad you are for giving your kid up for adoption. There's (surprisingly?) no rules for miscarriage, and if you're the type to abort you'd never have the quality to begin with.
And of course, no karma bonus for picking up a negative trait after chargen...
James Adams

Huh, has anyone played a character that was a second generation shadow runner? Hell, by 2070 there might even be third generation shadow runners. Shit, there might be people whose parents climbed out of the shadows, but then went back themselves to live up to the legacy of a grandparent. That's an interesting backstory.
What does an elf or human carrying an Orc or troll child look like? The kids start off goblinized right? So can they even carry them to term naturally or does it require special medical attention?

I'm not making a brand new thread for this shit.
Adam Wood
>Has anyone's runner ever gotten knocked up?
One of our characters started off with the Pregnancy flaw, though the game went on hiatus before she got past the first trimester. When we started up again, her player retired her and brought in a new character, so we never got to see how things would have progressed.
Considering my character is currently hooked up with a mutant Naga, pregnancy thankfully isn't something she has to worry about.
Jaxson Baker
>What does an elf or human carrying an Orc or troll child look like? Pregnant.
>The kids start off goblinized right? Maybe.
>So can they even carry them to term naturally Yes.
>or does it require special medical attention? No.
Nathan Hill
Maybe as in we don't know, or maybe as in sometimes yes and sometimes no?
Ryan Stewart
Maybe as in sometimes yes, sometimes no. Genetics are something of a lottery in the Sixth World.
Bentley Price
>What does an elf or human carrying an Orc or troll child look like? The kids start off goblinized right? So can they even carry them to term naturally or does it require special medical attention?
I imagine that, for people with decent health coverage, they follow similar procedures today regarding twins/multiple births that don't come to term on time, or intrauterine growth restriction (the fetus doesn't grow properly, either because of lack of nutrients or other health concerns) and induce labour early and care for the child in an neonatal incubator. I don't know about whether or not they've addressed that in canon, but I can't think of a practical way that a 110-pound elf could birth a 25 pound troll tot.
Wyatt Stewart
Pregnancy seems like a pretty snowflakey quality, even still. Did you OK it? What did you think would happen?
Liam Flores
How would one even run the shadows while pregnant? Every role that doesn't usually involve getting stabbed/beaten/shot at/set on fire/electrocuted has to deal with bio-feedback or drain and still has a chance of having to deal with getting stabbed/beaten/shot at/set on fire/electrocuted. Miscarriage seems like an inevitability.
Jeremiah Williams
Rigger in coldsim who stays in the van the whole run.
Also, she traded in the Roadmaster for a Grand Caravan.
Gabriel Morgan
Well, maybe they have some kind of nutritional supplement or light temporary bio ware to facilitate it? I feel like I'm SR that would probably be more cost effective that the inevitably awkward process of having the child in an incubator. Would probably result in comically large pregnancies though, especially considering that orks are supposed to have multiples in the order of quadruplets on average.
Camden Scott
>Also, she traded in the Roadmaster for a Grand Caravan. Seems like a mistake to go for a vehicle with less armor even if it makes them less conspicuous desu.
Anthony Howard
What is a good background count to be challenging to a mage, without just shutting them down?
I'm thinking a background count of 4 (with an enemy mage getting a +4 bonus because she's attuned to it) but I could be overestimating
Eli Reyes
Nutritional supplements only can do so much; a cause of IUGR is basically that the uterus is not large enough to support the child in the third trimester, with the membranes being damaged or the blood flow being restricted.
If they can remodel a uterus with bioware, that's something, but it's also a fucking huge undertaking medically that basically means rebuilding everything from the ribcage down, especially if you're trying to work around an incredibly delicate and vulnerable fetus (which it is during pretty much every stage of development from the word go).
Jaxon Reed
>Did you OK it?
It wasn't my call, I'm another player rather than the GM, but I didn't find it too disruptive or have a problem with him taking it. The PC did everything she could to keep her condition a secret IC, and considering she was a bit of a sour-faced cow, none of us pried too deeply into her weird eating habits.
As a sniper, she probably could have kept playing even into the latter trimesters, though she would have had to default more and more to long-distance support rather than tagging around with the rest of the party. I imagine she might have been temporarily retired if things got that far along though.
Gavin Sanders
Fair enough. I'm just trying to think of ways it would be possible, considering orks call humans and elves "breeders" even in low income areas where getting incubators for lots of ork babies is probably gonna be pretty difficult.
Christian Hill
In 5e, the Attuned Mage gets a limit bonus, not a dice bonus. Also, I suggest doing radiating levels of background count from the source of the background. For example, the area immediately around a holy relic might have a background count of 3, the temple itself only has 2, and the grounds might be 1. That way the Mage has some counterplay to make on how to approach the situation, bringing the fight outside or such.
Nathaniel Nelson
Oh, a limit bonus, alright then.
I can work with that idea though. I planned on it being a church, and then surrounding areas and such... I can do that.
Nolan Ross
Yeah I find it inconsistent that the penalty is in dice but the bonus is in limit. I'd like limit across the board. I like the idea that a mage could push through a background count by pumping the force of his spell dangerously high.
Nolan Ramirez
Hey, I've been getting into shadowrun and I keep seeing reference to "insect spirits" but I haven't seen anything concrete explaining what they are, exactly, yet. It definitely seems they're a known, but still dangerous, quantity in the world of 207x, but... I'm not sure what, exactly, they do, or how dangerous they actually are. Corporations don't seem pleased with the idea of them being nearby, which implies they're a threat, but what about Dragons? Could enough Insect Spirits take down a dragon? Why are they dangerous? etc.
Jace Sanchez
Check Street Grimoire's section on Insect Spirits, page 93, its a 5e book.
James Powell
> A female character can choose the Pregnant quality only at character generation. >female What the fuck is this sexist garbage?
Jack Bennett
>mpreg
Juan Long
Yep. What about it?
Leo Wood
>sexist >not speciesist Anyways, sorry that you're upset that CGL isn't catering to you, mister seahorse. Not.
Nathaniel Campbell
If I want to re-enact Junior or my fetishistic Mongolian pornographic material I should be able to.
Leo Edwards
Female and male are mechanical no social. Sperm are the male sexual cell, eggs are the female.
If someone can produce both they're a hermaphrodite and are both male and female.
Cooper Gonzalez
I'm sure you can fluff some sort of bioware womb that you can graft into your body.
Some insect spirits might be able to help you too.
Hunter Phillips
Theres 'ware in Chrome Flesh you can get to implant/change your sexual organs. You can go full mpreg if you really want to.
Levi Fisher
Get female reductive replacement bioware. There. Now you can be Male Preggers.
Camden Nelson
>then argue with your GM that since its how your character truly sees themselves, it shouldn't have an impact on your essence or aura
Adam Parker
Well if you spend a month sitting in vat, that can actually get you your sex change without essence loss.
That depends, would he offer piggyback rides to and from runs?
This is important to me.
Landon Martinez
Get a sword or an axe or something you fucking huge bastard.
>Dodge Scoot
Bruh.
Parker Anderson
Why are Throwing Weapons listed under Ammunition in Chummer and not an actual Throwing Weapons category in the Weapons tab?
Charles Long
So you can buy fifty of them at once instead of having to click on them individually.
Jacob Gonzalez
I guess I can get a harpoon or two.
>>Dodge Scoot W-What's the problem?
Nicholas Brown
jesus FUCKING christ op how does someone fuck up so bad?
Charles Hill
...
Michael Thomas
Exactly.
Sebastian Nguyen
Grab an Echo Zip, it's built for trolls and only costs 500¥ more. You'll look much less silly.
Christopher Taylor
So the rest checks out? Alright. thanks guys.
Jaxon Martinez
>So the rest checks out? Get a gun you fucking scrub. It's 2076, there are homeless guys eating out of trashbins that still pack more heat than you.
Justin Allen
chummer, he's a troll I don't think a gun in a holster would pack as much heat as the Gun in his pants
Ethan Taylor
Trolls actually have very small dicks, proportionally.
Andrew Phillips
how would you know? What if it IS proportional to his body size?
Jason Hughes
Say that with a Ruger Super Warhawk pointed at your cock, I fucking dare you.
Dominic Bailey
Ah yes, the Ruger Super "I have basically a engorged clitoris between my legs and need to compensate for it" Warhawk
You ever heard of a guy named Freud, chummer?
Dominic Young
So, I'm making an NPC who is a priestess, Christian theurge... I can't decide that, if the runners come in on a sunday, if she would attempt to avoid conflict entirely, or be overly pissed and pull all the stops.
Lucas Robinson
>implying I buy a big gun to compensate for having a small penis >implying that I don't buy a big gun so that my gun doesn't look small next to my penis
Colton Young
>come in on a sunday is she supposed to be someone they have to fight, have they pissed her off by some other stuff or does she not even know them?
Jackson Thompson
>so that my gun doesn't look small next to my penis but what do you need the warhawk for? In your case a hold out should work fine
Julian Gutierrez
She doesn't know them at all. Specifically, if it would be more likely a Christian theurge would try to honor the Sabbath themselves, or kick the ass of someone who isn't.
Ayden Watson
What do you think I am, some kind of gnome?
Kayden Morgan
>not knowing gnomes have the biggest dicks of all
Joseph Price
Could someone explain why China isn't ruling the world in shadowrun? The US is chopped into like 6 different nations, Russia has lost 2/3 of its territory, and europe is ruled by dragons and megacorps. What's holding China back?
Owen Stewart
NIPPON BANZAIIIIIIII
Aaron Allen
>The US is chopped into like 6 different nations, Russia has lost 2/3 of its territory, and europe is ruled by dragons and megacorps >What's holding China back? IIRC it's that it's split into a few different nations, has lost some territory and as said is weaker than Japan
Ian Sanders
Oh yeah I'm dumb. Well why not Asia in general then? I get Japan as the world's foremost power, and we see that everywhere, but not a lot of Chinese influence.
Cooper Rogers
>some Somebody post the Shadowrun China timeline gif. If you thought the USA was bad off, you ain't see nothing yet.
Jacob Lee
You do realize that gnomes are basically dwarves that go through the bare minimum amount of puberty that is required to achieve rudimentary reproductive capabilities and then just stop developing physically?
Andrew Robinson
Exactly my point. Shotas with big fat dicks.
James Smith
...
Logan Martinez
>not a lot of gook influence
except for the most accepted currency being a newer form of the yen?

user, we're talking about Shadowrun, not your collection of depraved hentai.

Brayden Peterson

Huh, that would explain how it's still alive despite being 90% cancer for years on end.
Elijah Jenkins
Thanks for posting this. Makes more sense now.
Josiah Thompson
You didn't need to make a post at all, is what I'm saying. It already answered your very post. You made, in essence, a non-post.
Carson Brown
at some point you have to consider if Veeky Forums has cancer or IS cancer
Ayden Rodriguez
Looks fine to me, just consult your GM first.
Grayson James
Veeky Forums has been dead for years, you booty-blasted sperg.
Nathan Bailey
And you're still a faggot implying that depraved hentai tropes are present in 80s Cyberpunk Met Modern Fantasy And They Had A Kid: The Setting.

You're the one who got triggered at the mention of genitalia like some manchild
Evan Jenkins
This is a reminder, trolls and orcs are fundamentally the same species as humans, and thus are going to be anatomically compatible. Furthermore remember that a troll's size increase is proportionally much more focused on the upper body, they're supposed to be quite apish.
Jose Hernandez
well of course they're going to be more apish, aren't the culturally filling the role of black people?
Jaxson White
>anatomically compatible does not mean that their genitalia can't be bigger on average than those of humans
Landon Lee
>not knowing that humans have the largest penis of all apes, both in size and in proportionate size >not knowing that BBC only exists in the new world because slavers only allowed the big cocked slaves to breed
Jaxon Morgan
Which is stupid, because it's either an alteration of your pattern by changing your genetic code or physically shifting your flesh around.
If anyone can get a sex change without essence loss, then anyone should be able to get their muscles worked on without essence loss.
Gabriel Green
>not laughing >not making a harambe post >getting mad
you're like the lowest tier of shitposter
Matthew Gutierrez
I expect trolls are hung like gorillas.
David Martinez
Guys, my runners have to defend a few VIPs this Saturday. Can you help me come up with some assassins? They most certainly will be Runners.
Dominic King
>Which is stupid, because it's either an alteration of your pattern by changing your genetic code or physically shifting your flesh around. You don't lose essence this way for the same 2 reasons going through puberty and getting old doesn't cost you essence: 1. It's a very slow and gradual process 2. There's nothing new being added, just a reshaping of what's already there.
>If anyone can get a sex change without essence loss, then anyone should be able to get their muscles worked on without essence loss. I have no doubt they could if the corps looked into the, but CGL won't let that happen because it'd become an option literally too good not to take.
Carson Ramirez
You should also be able to go full Cyber-Singularity Seeker and ascend to Machine Godhood with Adapsinx1000 to incur no essence loss whatsoever. I mean, it -is- what you spiritually feel you should be, and if you truly wish to live up to the left-wing ideal of inclusiveness...
Josiah Young
>mad The projection is strong in this one.
Tyler King
>You should also be able to go full Cyber-Singularity Seeker It's called a cyberzombie.
