Apparently painted by Soviet artist Sergueï Prissekine. I can't find much on it, though.
At first sight I thought Robin Hood, due to the forest setting and that big dude on the left could easily be Little John. But I don't know if a Soviet painter would get paid to do English folktales.
Then again, Robin Hood might be glorious tale of fight against capitalist oppressors, fit for official propaganda, comrade.

I'm thinking of shaking up the traditional "meet in a tavern/jail" campaign introduction for my Roman Republic-esque campaign by having the characters meet in a unisex bathhouse. Anyone have any art of bathhouse meetings for inspiration?
