It's when /pol/ jumps into a thread and posts dozens if not hundreds of posts of provably-false nonsense which could only possibly seem true if you were hermetically sealed away from facts and left to your own devices of a matter of years. They openly insult everyone and bitch and moan about how they're the REAL victims when anyone insults them back. I don't identify with all /pol/ says, I'm not offended either, it's just that the childish, whiny attitude of /pol/posters is just tiresome.

I don't enjoy a good thread detailed anything, but the issue here is that the primary source of thread derailment is /pol/posting, and it really gets old after a while.

I seem to recall that a few years ago, this was not prominent. (Maybe I was just edgy or didn't care as much.) But nowadays it feels like /pol/ is full of underage teenagers aching to be heard and to annoy others. Contrarianism for the sake of it.

So yes. It's not an ideological issue for me or for a lot of folks, It's all about wanting a better board.

The people who had been here since 2007 after migrating over from /b/ started to be outnumbered by the people who had heard about Veeky Forums in 2012 after migrating over from [OTHER WEBSITE].

As much as I dislike /pol/ shitposting I don't think creating meta threads is a particularly good way to improve the board.

I think that this is how we get the attention of people who have the power to help us. After all, this sort of tactic helped build the momentum that resulted in /qst/. I want the people who manage Veeky Forums to realize that we consider this a serious problem, so they can start thinking about how to deal with it. If we can combine our own responsible posting with solid moderation, we can make this board a better place.

One of the things that helped get /qst/ out of here was a realization that quests crowded out good threads. If we can get it into the mods' heads that political flaming and race-baiting are just as bad for our board (worse, in my opinion) then we might be able to achieve that sort of action again.
