Why don't we just remove /pol/ discussion from Veeky Forums, just like we remove gore, porn, and quests?
/pol/ posting toxifies perfectly good threads with off-topic flaming that makes discussion nearly impossible. It's a huge problem that we have all seen time and again. How many threads need to be shitposted into oblivion before someone does something about it?
If posters want to complain about not getting away with racial slurs in public, or about women realizing that they're creepy losers, then they have plenty of places to do that. Veeky Forums is not one of those places, so they need to do it somewhere else.
The problem is, /pol/ flaming isn't leaving of its own accord. We need sustained action from the people who manage Veeky Forums to make them realize they can't run rampant here.
This. It's sad that this has become the norm here.
Adrian Scott
Go back to /qa/ you dumb shitposter.
/pol/ isn't your Boogeyman that you can dump all shitposting problems with. Just because perfectly normal individuals discuss or debate politics in a fictional setting does not warrant it being /pol/ tier.
Logan Thomas
Don't mind me, I'm just watching what shitshow this thread will bring.
William Walker
How about the real-life politics? And the calls for IRL racist policies?
/pol/ tier or not, it needs to go.
Colton Davis
Apparently, /pol/ is more Veeky Forums-related than quests.
Ethan Turner
Because /pol/ is full of incredibly sensitive crybabies who threaten to throw temper tantrums if they aren't allowed to compensate for their pathetic lives by doing anything they want online.
Years ago when moot made /q/ people said get rid of /pol/ and they just concern trolled and said "but then /pol/ will go to all the other boards," like that wasn't already happening, didn't continue to happen, and has since permeated and fucked up the entire site completely.
White male fragility is fucking pathetic.
Chase Bell
Shitposting comes and goes, the best defense is to ignore it. You're feeding into their game when you make threads like these.
Anyway though let's get down the the real question; are Orcs niggers?
William Kelly
>Want to talk about fictional WWII >Need to first read through 100 posts of why the nazis weren't actually bad and how it was the jews >Never get to talk about fictional WWII in the end except for some analogy about niggers and orcs
every fucking time.
Brandon Collins
>waaa waaa ur pathetic waa >lmao whyte ppl amirite
I think you have an issue user if you make this many assumptions.
Noah Myers
:^)
David Rogers
yes.
Remember kiddos, Orcs wuz kangs n shieet
Ryder Brown
OP sounds like a niggerfaggot, there is no place for you people in Trump's New World Order.
GAS THE SPIKES JOHNNY WAR NOW!
Parker Cruz
You just proved user's point...
Gabriel Green
>Just because perfectly normal individuals discuss or debate politics in a fictional setting That is not at all what's prompting complaint. It's when /pol/ jumps into a thread and posts dozens if not hundreds of posts of provably-false nonsense which could only possibly seem true if you were hermetically sealed away from facts and left to your own devices of a matter of years. They openly insult everyone and bitch and moan about how they're the REAL victims when anyone insults them back. If anyone tells them to go back to /pol/, they scream "TYPICAL LIBERAL JUST WON'T LISTEN TO THE TRUTH" and tell anyone who posts anything vaguely left-leaning, or anything which disagrees with them, or anything which doesn't agree with them completely enough to go to Tumblr. And they do this over and over and over again, repeating buzzwords and propaganda and refusing to listen when anyone reveals the lies they've been fed, meaning you see the same lies and propaganda repeatedly, and if anyone tries to respond by posting the same proof they're lying, they say "POSTING THAT AGAIN?" or ">[factually true statement] meme".
Perfectly normal individuals discussing and debating politics is abundantly welcome on Veeky Forums. Don't pretend that's what this is.
An "assumption" is when you try to state what's going on based on little pertinent information. It's not really an assumption when it's something you and many others have observed over and over.
Kayden Clark
>Why don't we just remove /pol/ discussion >we >remove /pol/ discussion
Are you a fucking janitor?
If not, then report, sage, ignore, hide, etc. instead of getting buttflustered. Unless you are so bad at using the site that you literally can not discriminate between reply chains or are the type of person who gets triggered every 5 minutes when they go for a walk?
Leave, learn the meaning of "self-moderation", and only then should you come back.
Hudson Wright
>Board that constatnly talks about white power, and how they are being bred out by those evil (insert race here). Also talks about how women are all the same / baby factories >H-how did you know we are white males?
Aiden Russell
U mad /pol/
Xavier Thompson
"Sef-moderation". But when is it not Veeky Forums threads that sometimes get derailed by /pol/, and just /pol/lacks infesting every thread? I can't self-moderate when the discussion I'm here for is buried under miles of shit.
Adam Ross
>Why don't we just remove /pol/ discussion from Veeky Forums, just like we remove gore, porn, and quests? Because /pol/ haters dont decide what is /pol/ material
Connor Cook
>Implying /pol/-neutral anons even exist.
Landon Hill
I feel like I post this every day, but Veeky Forums was better when we didn't have mods, because it forced people to either grow a pair and learn to ignore the content they didn't like, or to leave Veeky Forums.
Catering to the whiniest among us is how we end up with the overmoderated hugbox that we're in today.
Jeremiah Thompson
>op
Asher Sanders
God forbid you try and talk about cyberpunk either. Or fantasy settings with multiple races.
Or anything at all really.
William Clark
>GAS THE SPIKES Is that like greasing the skids
Bentley Ramirez
You see this shit? Telling /pol/ to go back to /pol/ is exactly counterproductive. It's not a downvote; it's just another fucking shitpost. Post a bait reaction image if you must, and move on.
>waaahhhhh i'm being offended, it wasn't like this back on reddit!
>t. fucking newfag
Having to sift through shit is part and parcel of the sitewide fucking experience. Grow some thicker skin, some fucking maturity, or leave.
Brody Reed
>Literally can't have threads that aren't immediately derailed HARD, like 315 replies of which maybe two-to-three-dozen were on-topic, by /pol/tards >lolhugbox
Fucking end yourself you colossal faggot.
Jack Bennett
There was a spectacular shitstorm on /pol/ last week after someone brought up the idea that if whites are being bred out, are all the other races? They came to the conclusion that the white geome is far more fragile and valuable than every other genetic code in existence.
>So fragile they project onto their own genetic code
Austin Bailey
But /pol/ does get triggered about everything. They are the exact same cancer.
Ayden Bailey
>funnyjunk filename You see the calibre of these people?
Evan Perry
>people can't decide what real life politics idea is better and etc..., a reality they have full experience with since they live at it.
>but YES, they will be able to decide what (insert setting here) would work, despise them not living at it, this setting having magic or scifi science (that mess with stuff), and being a literature that most of the time dont have logical consequences to some actions.
Jonathan Adams
>Veeky Forums was better when the posters who couldn't ignore shitposting just left the board >but what about these threads that got derailed when the posters didn't ignore the shitposting?
Yeah, great argument...
If you faggots would stop getting your panties in a knot every time a /pol/fag decides to redpill the board by spamming infographs about nigger IQ levels and just LEARNED TO JUST FUCKING IGNORE THEIR BULLSHIT, they would stop seeing Veeky Forums as an easy hunting ground for (you)s.
Here's a picture Google assures me is a pretty girl.
Christopher Sullivan
This is a traditional games board, not a politics board ergo, the topic of the day is...
Nolan Thompson
>All these newfags trying to sound cool /pol/ has always been a cancer but to believe that it has always been this disruptive just shows how fresh off the boat you faggots are. There's a difference between "lolniggers" /pol/shit popping up a few posts in every other thread and anything that's not a general having about a 40%-60% chance to have *no* discussion happen at all because it devolves into a shitflinging mess right off the fucking bat.
Ignoring the occasional stormweenie is like ignoring it being a little warmer than you're used to; just deal with it. Ignoring the site becoming one where you can't discus board-related topics because 300 posts of "MULTICULTURALISM=WHITE GENOCIDE" and "RAPEFUGEES" flood into damn near every thread is like ignoring your house being on fire; that's not something you can or should just ignore.
Alexander Ortiz
The time spent on Veeky Forums made me wary of anything that wears collar and comes with explicit reminded it's a girl.
Isaiah Ortiz
If your resistance to /pol/ is that of wanting political neutrality across a non-political board in order to promote healthy, fruitful discussion and to cut down on shitposting than I agree with you.
If your resistance to /pol/ is because you politically disagree with them and would prefer your own political narrative to dominate discussion on non-political boards then you are just as bad.
But knowing the demographics of Veeky Forums most of you effeminate nerds are in the latter because virtue signaling has become a dominate force of deciding people's political views.
Maybe if ya'll found Jesus you would understand that one can be both humble and powerful. You don't need to be a full /pol/tard, but you don't need to be a "cuck" either.
Blake Ortiz
>Why don't we just remove /pol/ discussion from Veeky Forums, just like we remove gore, porn, and quests?
Ok.

Angel Gomez
>wants to remove shitposting >makes thread to shitpost about it How about you heed your own advice and GTWO you demented turbonigger.
Landon Rivera
Wanting /pol/ to shut the fuck up is always seen as an attempt to silence the masses, oppress the proud white male, or otherwise promote some sort of SJW bullshittery.
It's not like, y'know, we just want to talk about fucking dragons or aliums or whatever.
Michael Walker
don't feel like making a thread about this and its somewhat related:
How would I make a /pol/-related sci-fi setting? Assume the year is 2777, space travel, AI, nanoshit, all that stuff - but also abides by the "/pol/ is always right" meme. Its meant to be lighthearted and funny, any ideas?
Daniel Hernandez
>This is a traditional games board, not a politics board ergo, the topic of the day is.
>GUY 1: "how would society at an setting X works?" >GUY 2: "It would work like Y" >GUY 3: "Nope it would work like Z" >Guy 2 and 3 start to discuss to see what is the right choice
>"Would a paladin be able to do X?" >"Nope he wouldnt be cause of Y" >"Stop being stupid, he would because of z"
Thomas Rogers
What ever happened to "don't feed the troll"? If you ignore /pol/, and don't respond to them they'll get bored and leave.
Ethan Gutierrez
>How would I make a /pol/-related sci-fi setting? Assume the year is 2777, space travel, AI, nanoshit, all that stuff - but also abides by the "/pol/ is always right" meme. Its meant to be lighthearted and funny, any ideas?
I don't identify with all /pol/ says, I'm not offended either, it's just that the childish, whiny attitude of /pol/posters is just tiresome.
I don't enjoy a good thread detailed anything, but the issue here is that the primary source of thread derailment is /pol/posting, and it really gets old after a while.
I seem to recall that a few years ago, this was not prominent. (Maybe I was just edgy or didn't care as much.) But nowadays it feels like /pol/ is full of underage teenagers aching to be heard and to annoy others. Contrarianism for the sake of it.
So yes. It's not an ideological issue for me or for a lot of folks, It's all about wanting a better board.
Christian Gray
>space travel, AI, nanoshit, all that stuff - but also abides by the "/pol/ is always right" meme. Humanity died out back in 2012.

and with that it is time to abandon bread
Austin Williams
>What ever happened to "don't feed the troll"? If you ignore /pol/, and don't respond to them they'll get bored and leave.
The people who had been here since 2007 after migrating over from /b/ started to be outnumbered by the people who had heard about Veeky Forums in 2012 after migrating over from [OTHER WEBSITE].
Michael Morris
As much as I dislike /pol/ shitposting I don't think creating meta threads is a particularly good way to improve the board.
Austin Jackson
>self-moderation >Veeky Forums
hahahahahahaha. Veeky Forums has proven time and time again that it has no ability to self moderate and if left to its own devices rapidly degenerates to fetish discussion and retarded shit like filename threads.
Levi Ortiz
>Triggernigger can't handle the mad /pol/ bants
ayyy maybe facebook is more your speed.
Isaac Murphy
Are you not aware you possess the ability to ignore shitposting? Just because people take the bait doesn't mean you have to. Keep the thread alive by continual posting of on-topic material. And remember to use the report function was necessary.
What you are doing is calling "bitching until I get my way". A common but dubious tactic throughout the ages. You want a better board? Contribute to the board and make it better. There will always be shitposting, but /pol/ shitposting specifically triggers people because of its nature, not simply because it is shitposting. And if badly sourced infographics and purposefully offensive racism gets to you, then I pity your weak mind.
Carson Thompson
I'll be honest, I sometimes pretend to be /pol/ when I shitpost because it really is guaranteed (you)s.
Lucas Allen
>I feel like I post this every day, but Veeky Forums was better when we didn't have mods, because it forced people to either grow a pair and learn to ignore the content they didn't like, or to leave Veeky Forums. HERESYposting was still shitposting, porn and fetish spam was still spam
Connor Rogers
This is why we have sage and report. Use them you stupid fuck.
Global Rule #3 >You will not post any of the following outside of /b/: Trolls, flames, racism, off-topic replies, uncalled for catchphrases, macro image replies, indecipherable text (example: "lol u tk him 2da bar|?"), anthropomorphic ("furry") or grotesque ("guro") images, post number GETs ("dubs"), or loli/shota pornography.
For those too retarded to know how to use these, you type sage into the "options" field when making your post. This won't bump the post and will help kill the thread. You then go to the OP or post in question and click the little triangle (looks kinda like this >) and then you click "Report Post" from the little drop down menu. Another screen will pop up with two buttons. Click the one that says "Rule Violation". Type in the captcha and then submit it.
If everyone does this, then the boards will be freed of bullshit quickly. You stupid autistic fucks.
Matthew Long
>If your resistance to /pol/ is that of wanting political neutrality across a non-political board in order to promote healthy, fruitful discussion and to cut down on shitposting than I agree with you. OP here. You nailed it.
>I don't think creating meta threads is a particularly good way to improve the board. I think that this is how we get the attention of people who have the power to help us. After all, this sort of tactic helped build the momentum that resulted in /qst/. I want the people who manage Veeky Forums to realize that we consider this a serious problem, so they can start thinking about how to deal with it. If we can combine our own responsible posting with solid moderation, we can make this board a better place.
One of the things that helped get /qst/ out of here was a realization that quests crowded out good threads. If we can get it into the mods' heads that political flaming and race-baiting are just as bad for our board (worse, in my opinion) then we might be able to achieve that sort of action again.
James Robinson
>White male fragility is fucking pathetic.
This shit right here is why /pol/ has a leg to stand on. Report shitposts and move on.
