what is the best way to make a chaos terminator army? I want to play 40k but I heard terminators cost too many points. if I take two squads of 10 terminators will I lose all the time?

terminators aren't worth it, points and money wise

if you want big tanky chaos, run death guard

GGA Finally inspired me to get off my ass and get back to work on my Space Shermans.

Behold my Space-LTV: The Chimera Beta. Hopefully she came out alright.

You guys ready to spend money for some cards

To celebrate the launch of The Gathering Storm: Fall of Cadia we are giving away a series of 3 art cards, 1 with every order of $99 or more.

These cards are exclusive to Games-Workshop.com and are each available for one week, or until we run out of stock.

Each card is available from the following dates so make sure you place an order each week so you can collect them all!

Archmagos Dominus Belisarius Cawl art card : Saturday 7th January to Friday 13th January 2017.
Inquisitor Katarinya Greyfax art card: Saturday 14th to Friday 20th January 2017.
Saint Celestine art card: Saturday 21st to Friday 27th January 2017.

Fifth for Fall of Cadia is shit.
Book about destruction of Cadia, not about IG and a lot of this book about events outside Cadia.

ech, user that looks awesome. is the conversion yours? or do you have a link to instructions somewhere? I think that'd give my renegades a really nice unique touch.

Sounds meh to be honest. This is why people feared GW pushing the story forward. AoS and recent campaign books like Warzone Damocles just show GW's writers are a bunch of hacks.

Hey, I don't know if this is the right place to put his but I figured I'd ask anyways just in case somebody knew or had experience here.

I'm playing in a Killteam Tourney the next couple of weeks but I'm concerned about the lack of anti-tank in my list.

Is putting the Haywire Specialist rule onto a Heavy Bolter team a good idea? I figure it doesn't matter if I don't break str5 if I can just haywire something to death.

Gib instrucionals guide

Terminators are pretty bad. Chaos does them somewhat better for two reasons:

-You can run 3-man units of Terminators.
-They can take Combi-Plasma.

This is what's usually called Termicide. The Annihilation Force is a formation that makes this even more fun as it lets the Terminators shoot immediately after Deep Strike...which can actually be useful for a fair few reasons.

The big problem is that Grav mulches Terminators dead :/

I used a chimera setback tutorial, then augmented it with a few of my own additions. Here is the link:
librarium-online.com/forums/forces-imperium/193191-chimera-conversion-set-back-turret.html

and a second varient for bradley fans:

theback40k.blogspot.com/2010/04/converting-set-back-chimeras-part-i.html

The rear hatch is the box cover from the Leman Russ kit (I replaced said box with a fuel tank)

The turret bussel is brass wire and superglue. Make sure you drill holes in the back of the turret to fit the brass in because gluing the cage streight on won't work.

The thingy on the far side of the turret is the hunter killer rail mounted on the prongs of the tank accessories cupola, with the little antenna peice from the chimera kit glued on the back. It mounts the hunter-killer missile, but will also hold the a heavy weapon so people don't ask how I can fire autocannons out the rear hatch.

The two sleeping bags and the lascarbine are removable; hullpoint counters so I don't need to balance dice on my models.

The track guards are the long track guard combined with the medium track guard with the angled end sawed off, an greenstuff liberally applied then sanded off.

>They can take Combi-Plasma
or combi-melta

they're also cheaper than loyalist terminators, since they aren't paying for the power fist up front

I forgot to mention: The guys in the instructions used plasticard to cover seams. I preferred to greenstuff the seams and sand them flat.

>Shermans.
Why?
Personally I don't understand why those were used at all, high profile little tommy cookers.
build a cromwell instead

Forgot to link it in the other thread you moron Edition more like

is this Dark Eldar ?

No, this is Patrick.

Kek

I'm withholding judgement until tomorrow or so when Veteranoob over on B&C gets his review copy and starts dropping spoilers

Age of Sigmar.

So I was bored and wrote a Genestealer Cult list I call Geneblower. This is how I would run GSC once people learn how to defend against Uprising.

++Cult Insurrection++
+Brood Brothers+
-Leman Russ Exterminator w/ Lascannon and Multimelta - 160 [Warlord]

+Neophyte Cavalcade+
-Leman Russ, same loadout - 160
-10 Neophytes, 2 Mining Lasers, Chimera w/ Multilaser & Heavy Bolter - 145
-Neophyte & Chimera, same loadout - 145
Armored Sentinel w/ Multilaser and Hunter Killer Missile - 50
Armored Sentinel, same loadout - 50

++Two Demolition Claws++
5 Acolytes, Demolition Charge, Goliath - 110
-Copy this 5 more times - 550
-Goliath Rockgrinder w/ Clearance Incinerator - 80
-Copy this 5 more times - 550

Total: 1850

That's 18 vehicles, most which can infiltrate/outflank. The Neophytes Infiltrate their Chimeras and use them as makeshift bunkers, and the Acolytes took Goliaths because Infiltrating Twin-Linked Autocannons with Tank Hunters are boss.

Everything else is about mech warfare and going space ISIS on your foes.

Nth for comfy, early late-night thread. Anyone wanna post WIP pics? I need motivation to get off my ass and start painting.

no, because it's 10:30

I am painting the other ogryn, though.

You wouldn't want to take two massive squads like that. As others pointed out, Chaos terminators can come in squads of 3 and get combi-weapons.

This could be useful as a chunk of your force, with small teams dropping down to blast melta at tanks or plasma at heavy infantry, then rushing into melee if they survive.

It isn't the sort of thing that could make up an entire force though, and the only other way to deliver them would be a Land Raider.

Why'd you use Nork's chest?

Nice to see someone else who likes Ogryn though.

I personally prefer Combi-Plas as it's more useful against a wider variety of targets, and it has a more forgiving range-band which helps since Chaos doesn't get scatter-mitigation.

One particular thing I'd try is running squads of 4 in the Terminator Annihilation Force. This way they can drop down, fire 2 Combi-Weapons at the unit that is "Targeted for Annihilation," then fire 2 at another target.

Black Legion can probably stick with running base units though. Drop down, fire your weapons, then fan out, taking advantage of Crusader to "roll two, drop lowest" when running. Don't forget to give the Lord/Sorcerer a Burning Brand too, because shooting that twice on the DS turn is fun.

>not staying up late on a Friday
Those are top notch, the camo pattern on the ogryn and stripes and lenses on the scion are really good

New Cadian rough riders

Why can't we replace shitty squad leader melee weapons with a normal rifles anymore?

My 8 years old IG army is actually unplayable now, because I haven't built a single model with chainswords.

Because he's my bone 'ead, but I didn't want to use the bone 'ead head.

If I ever do a nork stand in, he'll be in a squad with a commissar and won't need the little buddy on his shoulder to remind him of his orders.

Ah alright, fair enough. Looks great, by the way.

Skitarii says hi.
T:My_Warlord_Has_Radiumcarbine

that looks awesome. mirin

...

if its 50cm its good. if its postcard its shit.

shhh

how are combi-weapons good if you only get one shot

Some people on Dakka are talking about Butcherhorde Terminators starting on-table, especially if the Talisman of Burning Blood is involved (so now they're almost as fast as Wraiths).

The difference between 9 S5 attacks and 12 S6 attacks does add up after all, and re-rolling charges is also pretty nice.

To a lesser extent, Alpha Legion get Mindveil shenanigans for ninja terminators.

>mfw I really wanna run a Cohort Cybernetica for a bullshit Robutt deathstar but it's about 780 points by itself

I mean, I know I'll eventually just bite the bullet and run a War Convocation, but right now I just want to H A V E F U N.

That being said, what's the most efficient way to slap Kastelans in an army? One squad doesn't seem like it'd be as effective as two, but even then that's 6 T7 wounds on a 12 shot S6 AP3 spitting monstrous creature with their own special orders.

Maybe I'm better off with a Battle Congregation. But then I'm just taking two squads of Breachers and at that point I oughta just run Holy Requisitioner.

What do? How can I fit my fun robot dudes in at around 1500 points and still be halfway competitive?

I think that rule only applies to the model's close combat attacks.
Grab an autocannon instead, and maybe give it relentless if LOS is a problem. you seldom go wrong with those.

Would you rather have one shot or zero shots?

Some targets need to die *fast* and if you're in range to fire Plasma or Melta weapons, then you better do the job or else you're in for a world of hurt.

I approve wholeheartedly user!!! Check out what I was painting earlier.

So shitty Imperial Agents codex, now shitty Fall of Cadia, what next? Guilliman back to life?
Lets hope not, he will weaken Imperium another time.

Krieg...Hund?

This. Combi-weapons are usually about maximizing your firepower when you need it. Combi-melta might make the difference between dead Knight when you pod next to it and Combi-grav might kill that last tactical marine you need to wipe out to get the objective.

Just a unit of 1 is plenty strong, user. Or do an Elimination Maniple.

That said, I don't think there's anything wrong with doing a Dominus Maniple + Cohort Cybernetica + Skitarii Maniple 2 bring 2 more squads of Vanguard for boots on the ground

Hmm...I see how that could work fairly well. It certainly saves you a lot compared to buying a land raider.

I'm still getting used to all the aspects of the update. There's a lot of things to consider.

According to my shitty German that translates to War Dog

Better fix those gaps and that mold line on the barrel and the front mounted lascannon before someone gets pissy. Also consider some highlighting or...shit anything to highlight that gray. Unless you're not done yet?

They aren't amazingly well painted, but they're mine and I love them.

Kriegshund
Sorry, user

Some of the Imperial forces participating in the Fall of Cadia.

New release. I didn't knew a decad old model counted as a new release.

So any leaks for Fall of Cadia or is it going to be another disapointment as Impirial Agents?

Inb5 all ig players mutiny when fall of cadia doesnt do shit for guard (which so far from leaks is true)

The typical leak/review source on B&C has had his copy delayed because of snowmageddon 2017, so nothing yet.

>deathwatch
literally why

I mean I know why, but now that it's been reduced to a chaos/imperial affair they have no horse in the race.

WHERE IS THE LINK TO ARMYBUILDER, OP. YOU SAID THERE WOULD BE LINK!

>not having space Julius Caesar+Marcus Aurelius mixed together to lead the imperium
Stay plebeian

Iron Hands chapter tactics, fun walker assault army

They're definitely table ready user. Better that than the people that spray everything one colour and field it.

Is it worth buying tabletop simulator if I want to practice the game while I'm building up my army?

also big black templar and sisters crusade. and a lot of cadian regiments but still fluff have only 136 pages and a lot of it is even not on cadia >:-.(

Think I can get away with it without someone sperging out on it?

Considering the wolves are beyond pissed the fuck off at the moment I'm kind of surprised they wont be making an appearance.

Where'd you get this, user?

>Dear Emperor, I hope I did this right Edition
Nope, wrong OP template, with shit0din.

Why the 10 man tac squad, and why vet sarge/power weapon?

Why power weapon on a plasma squad that can't charge?

Nth for NONE PURER

No

I don't get it, it's just German?

I mean, it's kinda sloppily written but other than that I probably wouldn't even notice it.

If you have someone to play with.

Language gets bastardized all the time, god knows what 10000 years would do to German

That looks amazing. I love Bullgryn. I really want to make mine look good, but I'm shit at painting, so it will never look good. They are basically one of my favorite Guard units though. I wish they were better or got access to cheaper power weapons. 15 points on a 45 point model is ridiculous. That should be a free upgrade for their price.

I was just freehanding it during a moment of inspiration. Hopefully it's readable.

>Space 0Din
You fuck it up, big time.

dat leviathan desciption.

Get a Micron Pen, do fancy shit.

You could try and say it's Low Gothic, which is basically English with a couple loan words from other languages (seen in planet names like Kreig).

>That should be a free upgrade for their price.
the ogryn/bullgryn mix is stupid to begin with

They should just be able to choose wargear on an individual basis. Some with guns, some with shields.

That much purity is a fire hazard!

His honor guard is on standby with extinguishers

Is there an army list builder I can use with traitor legions yet?

battlescribe

can someone tell me some solid discount GW sites here in the United States?

notepad++

Frontlinegaming.

>space marines

They can charge if they don't shoot their guns.
I usually don't shoot my most powerful guns if I'm going to charge because I just might screw up my charge, it's happened before.
The presence of Vet Sergeant Kickass is not to be questioned.

I tried to work with that same idea, but it ended up being the Cohort, 2 more vanguards, and a dominus. That was about the whole army. No possible way to break av14 either unless I get lucky on plasma, perhaps.

So with an elimination maniple that actually leaves me enough points to start throwing some more Skitarii in the fold. Specifically some Ironstriders and junk. With my mainly gunline army, a unit of outflankers that move crazy fast will really help wreck the backfield, especially if they come out turn one or two.

I actually really like this list, even if it's a bit heavy on the formations.

>I2

>Fall of Cadia contains a wealth of new rules content for Warhammer 40,000:

> the Triumvirate of the Imperium – a formation bringing these three characters together;

> - the Grand Convocation and Imperial Crusade detachments – combine Cult Mechanicus, Skitarii and Mechanicus Knights in one army, and Black Templars and Adepta Sororitas in another;

>They can charge if they don't shoot their guns

...then why buy the gun? You're basically only going to be firing it by the time you're in range to charge anyways. It's a waste of 15 points. Take a meltagun or flamer instead, at least with melta you can pop a transport and then rush it or something.

>vet sarge kickass

Story?

take out space odins garbage shitty op retard bitch.

What would you bring for a competitive alpha legion list? max. chosen and a lost and damned formation?

That'd be nice. It's a shame they can't have Slabshields and Power Mauls at the same time, because that is what I would take.

They really need a point decrease for what they can do. Ripper Guns also need to be longer range. 18 inches and maybe Assault 4 with Shred.

Ideally, I'd keep them how they are mostly, but they would be 30 points for Ogryn, 30 points for Bullgryn, make them both 4+ save, make Ripper Guns what I said above, and then for 5 points you could replace the grenade launcher with a Power Maul on Bullgryns. That way you could have 3+ save guys with S7 AP4 melee weapons. Free upgrade to switch to Brute Shield from Slabshield.

>xenos

My sides holy fuck.
