Finance or Compsci?

What degree do i go for biz??

Business Analytics
Or
Computer Science
Or
Data Science

Never something as general as Finance or a Pseudo-Science like Economics

Learn to program, duh

both majors will make you work like a monkey for 70k
Economics is god tier if you're smart and can prove that you are worthy to get paid to think

Why? Would it be harder to get a job or something? Is computer science more practical?

More specialised and there is huge demand for it now, esp. in Big Data.

>think
Which unfortunately the vast majority of grads lack
The things you learn on Economics are based upon Hindsight/Past outdated data. Most of which are useless in the workplace or really fucking situational (Game theory for etc.).

>biz
>working
We traders now

Tbh the basics of economics/finance is sufficient and easy enough that you can pick it up on your own
Most of it is rooted on Common sense and can be done with Fin calc/excel.

this. none of us will work in 6 years

don't waste time on that shit. start working right now and put it all into crypto

Is comp sci a lot more math intensive than fin is?
Asking because I'm not a god at math but I'm not bad either. Just don't want to pick a major that I'll be shit at.

Im in higschool I only have 5k in crypto. Theres nearly no chance of me making it unless I go big on multiple altcoins.

I wouldn't even go to college. You can just go to a trade school and then do real estate.

Economic/Fin/Com Sci are all Math-intensive.
There is no running away from that.

In Com Sci, you will be writing Algorithms day-in and day-out.
Same with Fin/Economics if you pick the new modules (Machine learning/ Data analytics etc.)

The core of all these courses are statistics and data. As long as you are cool with stats and charts, you will probably make it.

>In Com Sci, you will be writing Algorithms day-in and day-out.

not even close lol

What are you talking about, that's all my college courses are. CIS major

Computer Science, hands down. With CS you can still go into finance even if you want to with a finance minor, but with finance it'd be really hard to go into CS

If a top business school (e.g. Wharton, Booth), go for Finance, otherwise go for CS.

if you have to pay or take loans for a degree then none of them, just learn programming

Don't listen to him. CS isn't all about raw programming. A lot of it is learning how to attack complicated problems using different tools.

Got accepted into pretty good engineering programs and I'm sort of deciding where I want to go. Should I do Comp Sci or Comp Eng for the money? I know they're very different, just want to know which one is more versatile.

So many conflicting opinions in this thread lmao

comp sci

I graduated from a top 5 program and I'm getting my PhD now in the same field. Trust me when I say CS is THE way to go. If you got into a good school and have the option to study CS, go for it. All my classmates who graduated had no trouble finding 6 figure jobs right after graduation and are all in their early 20s. Even if you take out loans for college you'd pay them off really quickly.

If you are to do this, make sure to specialize in a CS field. Right now anything with stats is really hot, including AI, Machine Learning, Data Mining and Data Analytics. Not to mention the field of blockchain in CS is going to EXPLODE in the next 5 years.

You actually got me hyped af to start studying and getting ahead of the curve on blockchain
