>Ain't nothing good that can come of bottlin' up your emotions.
>Plenty worse to come of making them into a pet

>Kid spent all his life climbin' up that ladder
>Tryin' to find some solid ground to put under his boots
>Ended up real high, couldn't even see where he come from
>...
>Didn't care much for the titles and the power
>Hadn't put a lot a' thought into it

>Best way to find solid ground?

>Well, you gotta jump

>Man's gotta have something to believe in
>But when that's all he's got, something gets twisted up
>Kid better he careful, history repeats itself.

>Some folk build walls 'round themselves
>Him? He built a damn castle.
>Too much hurt waitin' outside
>Someone like you, maybe he'll open up those gates
>Don't take the hurt in with you, though

>Whats a man to do when his whole world gets shattered?
>How's someone supposed to cope when he finds out that his whole life was a lie, a joke?
>You go after who'ever told you the truth.

>She weren't much fer' thinkin', 'sides the notion that she might well be the biggest fool of them all.
>Truth be told, she might not be wrong on that account.
>But sometimes, a thick skull and whole lotta guts will do the job.
>If you're gonna be dumb, you best be tough.
>And boy, was she tough.

What would Ruckus say about your character?

>Anytime the poor Kid gets touched she goes into pieces.
>She doesn't say why and claims that she's fine.
>You should see the scars left by the obese "gentleman" which took her for a morsel.
>And I'm not just talking food.
>Doubt even Pyth can give her the courage to fight any longer than she has too.
A PC who ran into Y'Golonac, the Defiler

Nice things because im playing a pure breed genetically engineered german ubermensch in a world war 2 with a touch of sci-fi campaign

>Most people don't take the Kid seriously, the boy seems like a clown who's survived on luck and maybe a bit of pluck.
>But I pity the poor bastard who threatens his friends, they're in for a world of hurt.

>Some men are born to fight, some aren't.
>That's just the way it is.
>'Course, no one told him soon enough.
>And there's only so many times you can break your bones before they start gettin' tougher than what broke 'em.

>Like a wind-up dancer with a wistful tune
>Pretty to look at, but makin' the same circles, again and again

>Kid had a real knack for getting himself shot in the leg.

>Kid's always been a bit to trustfull, or maybe just a little prideful.
>Either way, just existing could be a good enough reason to be his friend, or even moreso.
>For being an only child, he had the most siblings I've ever seen.
>He's not much for changing his mind about family though.
>Well, when you live to fight the mountain, having a little companionship is a rare luxury.

>Man ain't gotta home these days, but he has got the kind of tongue that gets strangers to open doors, and the eyes to use it.
>Big 'ol storm tore his down as a kid. Figured, instead of working all his days to get back his old life, he might as well make a new one. Has a talent for it, too, but he never keeps 'em long.
>He had a sister once, too. But he ain't so convinced she's gone.
>He's got a little critter that followed his runnin' off. One of those mystic, delicate types. Not a common sight 'round his parts, and he figured it was too much of an unlikely coincidence.
>Now he ain't so sure he's just reading faces anymore, or just pulling card tricks. What's a sceptic to do when he starts putting faith in fate and voodoo?
>The grandest tournament in the land is starting, and his name's on the contestant list. He knows it ain't his calling, so why's he there? 'Cause this year, they fight for more money than honour, or so he tells himself. He knows there's easier ways to wealth, with all his fellow scoundrels. Maybe it just gives him a real reason never to stay in town too long. Maybe it's another "coincidence".

This is a quality thread.

>The man had a good heart, but he liked danger a little too much.
>Spent more time destroyin' than buildin'.
>I just hope he ain't buildin' his own mausoleum.

>Kid was a bit eccentric, nearly driving away those that were left.
>But the results he got...well, a mixed bag has it's good parts.
>And the more that's in the bag, more likely you'll pull out a good one.

Them's some good ones.

>Coming from the wilds, we were all a bit surprised he was helping the kid.
>He was no exception.
>Unfortunately, he wasn't helping out of the goodness of his heart.
>It started out with small things, a few missing bolts, a loose knot, things you'd chop up for sloppiness.
>But even a frog couldn't be sloppy enough to blow up the food supply.
>Twice.
>Seems he was a bit on the weird side, said he could talk to some greater being.
>Though, if you saw those eyes, not much you could do to doubt.

>Odd fella, that one. Says he's readin' all them books to try and help his pals.
>Says that ya gotta fight fire with fire, or some such thing, and his pals seem to believe him.
>Me, though? I ain't too sure. Fella gets an odd look in his eye when the chips are down and them spells of his start flying. Looks like he enjoys seeing people runnin' and screamin', all 'cause he told 'em to.
>I ain't one for judgin', but somethin' about that fella just don't seem right.

>Bein' a big shot ain't all it's cracked up to be.
>This one wasn't a bad egg, but he thought he deserved the world.
>Turns out, the world ain't too keen on havin' one man callin' the shots. And just one man ain't gonna have an easy time of changin' any minds.
>But this big shot, well, I'm not sure what about him is sharper. His sense of right and wrong, or his smarts.
>When you have both in equal measure, it's only a matter of time before one of them slips, and on this slope, it's real slippery.
>Bein' a big shot ain't all it's cracked up to be.
>Mostly because it's a long way to the bottom, and a real quick trip there.

>She likes to help people put the broken pieces back together, mend what shook them apart.
>Hope they never figure out she's the one who broke 'em to begin with.

> Little bird lost his flock long time ago.
> Stick around if you feel like being charitable.
> Who knows? He may save your life someday.

>Ain't much you can do with just a large drum and a bag full teath.
>But that ain't going to stop the kid.

>Seems a nice enough fella... for a war worshiping, lightning breathing lizard.
>Don't reckon they ever started a war, but didn't ever stop one neither.
>Says all the fighting makes heroes out of even ordinary folks. Ain't that heroic being dead...

>Kid spent his whole life hiding from fate
>But the thing is, if fate don't find you, something worse will

>Even after the collapse, he still only wanted to document the wilds.
>I guess when you spend all your life away from home, you have a lot of questions.
>Sometimes though, you're answers aren't what you want from them.

>Says he hears god, but he knows he's lyin'.
>Spent so long looking for the truth, he thought he'd make it himself.
>You spend so long tryin' to do right by folks, you might lose yourself.

>His problem wasn't a physical one, it was political
>But I guess when all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail
>Well at least the kid brought the biggest hammer in the land

>Here's a man trying to find the person he once was
>But what happens if he don't like him?

>kids just trying to survive
>but life has another thing up it's sleeve

>The tin man might have a frightenin' look to him, but looks can be misleadin'.
>He's a peaceable sort, patient and kind, but like a ragin' storm when roused.

>Kid's simple
>Real simple
>Just go along with his delusion, and he'll hit what point too
>And a few things you don't

>Ah. Weird Kid. Doesn't talk much.
>he knows the Woods and Mountains. Quiet the Frontierman-type.

>somehow ended up with these weird twins.
>Two cute Girls who got a talent for getting into trouble.
>And a big guy with a sword. Full of himself.

>they hunt some real mean old baddy across the country.

>Well, unless the twins got them in another mess again.

I dunno, probably something overrated and cliche, just like the entireity of the game he's from

>A damn shame really - fought a war to get home, fought real hard. Did some bad things. Had to become a warrior to survive
>The thing about men of war though - home doesn't bring the same peace it used to
>At least he was kind enough to leave his riches behind when he walked out that door
>I'm sure his wife and daughter don't see it that way, though

Cool story, bro. You gonna actually contribute, or just be a contrarian fagot who whines like a spoiled toddler?

>Now, user wasn't the type to call himself a fisherman. Was just a hobby, to him. But if there was one thing he knew, well, he knew how to cast a line.
>Only problem was, a hook without bait would be about as aimless and driftin' as he was.

excellent form, top marks

Who would play a black character except a black ? and niggers don't play tabletop rpg.

who else but a nigger could possibly know that, user?

>Kid just raged a bit

>When he was the bottom floor, the penthouse sure looked pretty.
>Once he got up that building, and got to the very top, though... 'Stopped being so bright.
>What's it look like? Well... There's a lot of bodies, for starters...

>Some folks fight to protect somethin', some folks fight to forget somethin'.
>The Kid, he fights because it's all he wants to know.

>he looks at the paladin
>he ain't him
>he does what he won't
>touches his scar big ol' skeleton hurt him
>sword ain't what hurts the most
>prays to torag asks for fire ask to become steel
>what matters is what you make of good steel

>don't let the cold, calculated murder fool you
>she's good people
>all of her

What would The Ancestor say about your hero?

GAAAAAAAL DKJFDKJjkfffffffffffffffffffffffff BLURLUBLURLUBLURLUBLURLDAJSLVHSDGHDL AHAHAHRRHRAHAHAHRHRRRRRAH. *blam*

>A mewling wretch risen above its station. Still, I am impressed by the sheer tenacity it exhibits. If only it were enough.

bonus points if anyone can throw out a guess as to what this character is.

I'm going to have to go with some sort of tank, either a Barbarian or Fighter. Maybe Bear Totem or Zealot Barbarian or Battlemaster Fighter.

Of course I could be completely off and you're a paladin but from the Mewling Wretch line and taking damage you give off the idea of a more individual person then a man of god.

>In boundless rage he finds boundless strength, but strength alone cannot stave off the madness that is to come

>Why is this simpleton calling me dad?

>A lowly merchant, seeking to buy nobility. In gold... and in blood.

>And then the kid did something useful with his life.
>...
>Nah I'm just kidding with you.

>She clings to optimism and hope in the face of everlasting darkness. Who can dare call her sane?

>Kid don't know much more than violence anymore
>It's a sad story
>Probably ain't got a happy ending either
>Maybe if he traded in that sword for somethin' with a bit more meaning to it?
>...
>Nah. Kid likes that he ain't alright.

>Kid spent his whole life building
>Too bad for him breaking's easier
>Now to put it all back together, all he can do is keep breaking
>Ain't that a laugh

A fearful, wretched thing, better for talking than fighting. And yet, there is a glint of steel in his eye.

you're actually correct on that! Barbarian was the class, going with a homebrew Barfighter path. The mewling wretch bit was more a reference to backstory and race, which is tiny sickly kobold.
No one ever told him that he COULDN'T be a barbarian. So he was damn well going to be one, strength penalties or no.

>This is one of those fellas who could have had it all.
>You know the type. He had a wife and kids on the way, a reason to live and everything.
>Problem was that he got sold out by a woman what was supposed to be on his side.

>She never got a look at his face while she was doing the betraying, though.
>...
>Would it have changed her mind?
>I don't know- but it would have changed his life.

>You know how they call the lash on a ship 'captain's daughter'?
>Well, he had three daughters.
>Now he has three whips and the will to use them.
>I hope she remembers, because he does.

>She been "thinkin' of something quick" all her life.
>Hasn't really stop to take it all in, not even once
>Well... She just can't handle all that time in her hand.

>With her.
>It was always a three dog night.

>Kid's been running long as he can remember
>Kid's not strong, Kid's not smart
>But he's fast enough to keep up

>Plenty a' folks tell him to let go of his past
>He ain't got much to hang on to if he does

Ambition, greed, lust. A mixture made all the more volatile with just enough power to see them realized.

>nihilistic despair and madness, he would make them tools with which to destroy his enemies
>perhaps the most dangerous of them all

>He was a curious one, no doubt about it
>Believed in chivalry and the rights of old blood, upheld the code like no other
>Knights and nobles gotta look after those beneath 'em after all
>But they gotta remember their place, otherwise things it'd get real nasty.

>Kid never was good lookin'
>But I'm sure he's seen better days

>Watch this one closely, sometimes an actor becomes indistinguishable from his role, even to himself.

>There was light in his eyes, once. Snuffed out by the horrors of war. There is no method left to his madness. He comes looking for death, and he will find it.

>Kid's got a real fire burning in him. He best mind where the flames start lickin'.
>He ain't always seen eye to eye with the big guy. Lucky for him, Gond ain't holding a grudge. Asked him if he could do a better job, then gave him the tools to do it.

These are some real quality

Honorable mentions include almost every other post in this thread.

>expecting your campaign to be narrated by Rucks
>it's narrated by the Ancestor instead

To be honest, The Ancestor makes for a more exciting narrator, if only because he brings that sense of dread that Rucks doesn't

>Kid's like a house in a storm; she keeps on learnin' more n' more about who she really is, threatenin' to break her down n' wash her away. Yet she keeps on shorin' herself up, battenin' down the hatches and weatherin' what comes.

>I don't know if she can hold out forever, but I sure as hell know she ain't gunna give up 'til the job's done.

Who's that?

>Monster Huntin's a noble profession,
>'course, kid's gotta learn the real monsters wear human masks

>This one aims to rise to glory and heroism through a zealous search of conflict. Such men often find nothing but a dizzying fall to destitution, suffering and death.

>Kid just wouldn't take "I don't know" for an answer
>The only answer he found was a robot guided laser to the dome

The Narrator from Bastion.

>Kid had a song and smile for every occasion.
>Sharp of wit, and even sharper of tongue.
>...
>Learnt' the hard way, not all problems can be solved with poetry and children's tales these days.
>But when you luck is down and the days just keeps getting darker.
>...
>Maybe a little music ain't that bad.

>The fool spends his life spinning a web of lies. But one false step, and he'll find he's just been spinning the noose around his neck.

>Well, kid liked flying a whole lot.
>And havin' friends on the ground made him throw away his last restraints
>But maybe he should land for a bit and try to find them
>Because these days, there's gonna be someone all too wiling to break his wings

I do, though I agree that niggers don't play tabletop very much at all.

>Man spent his whole life runnin' round, tryin' to fix everything
>Cost him a whole lot more than he's gained
>Only now startin' to realise what he needed was to just stand still
>And thanks to a couple of young ladies he knows, he's started looking as old as he feels

>she wanders worlds, searchin', hungry
>she craves it, lookin' high and low
>it stalks her every move, but just won't catch up
>her relationship with death is... complicated

>The hearth is lit, but nobody's home
>And it just burns and burns and burns.

Different character:

>He clings to his steel, his soldiers, his friends, and his God. And still he will die alone.

> Kid's spent a long while learning about the world.
> It's what he ain't found books on that'll make his life more interestin'.

>KEK KEK KEK LIBTARD KEK KEK KEK

Solid.

Gotta have those beats in between lines to properly emphasise the delivery.

>Now that's a new one. A metal man with a head full of hate and hands full of knives. Not even the Mancers would've thought to build a thing like that.

>Kid's got a heart full justice, but was born into a family of lies.
>Sometimes loyalty requires a betrayal, but a betrayal hurts more than just the betrayed.
>When the Devil came a knockin' the Kid just knocked back.
>Now the Kid's got nothing but a sword and old wounds, wanderin' the land searchin' for something to make things right.

>High and Mighty's what they use to call her.
>Noble-born.
>Soft but thick skinned, never said a word till she caked her hands with red.
>Girl jumped off a cliff to nab one fella on the face.
>Never thought she'd take her title seriously.

>He's got big shoes to fill since his boss got smoked
>Sure he can keep his little corner of the world safe, just like her, but he cant keep the whole world from changing
>Times like these, it's better to put stock in yourself than a perfect neighborhood

Absolutely nothing good, she's a tiefling

>Kid's never really felt like he belonged here. Maybe he doesn't, but what can you do? He has no home to return to. At least...no home he'd want to go to. And when his eyes lit up, seeing our little shelter, it seemed like he'd finally found his home away from home.

>Never before have i seen such power, such potential...and it is all wasted. Wasted in that feeble mockery of a body. When i told him of what he could be, he shouted at me, screaming that it's what he's been running away from. Called me mad, he did. Maybe he's right. But what he told of his home...I almost wanted to give up on my experiments when he told me. I can only hope i never find his parents.

>He'd been wishing he could have done something different
>Saved his career, his relationship, his old life
>But he gave up on that long ago
>Up til a living, breathing symbol of what he lost comes stumbling in the door, bad attitude on her face and a gun in her hand
>If he were never there for her, is she still his daughter?
