Suggestions for improvement? The lighting makes it seem a good deal yellower than it is in reality. More of a tan/beige with copper mane/hair. Thinking maybe a desaturated orange drybrush on the fringes of the mane to help it look a little less flat, or maybe just a wash and then duplicate whatever happens to the mane to the Dogface's hair.

I mean, the models that are there -- removing one Tankhunter and added in a Dog-Soldier -- and using the Spetsnaz Sniper as another Scout Sniper -- is actually one of my go to lists. Kazaks work very well as an elite army, probably moreso than most of other Ariadna factions. I generally stay to a single Combat Group, and don't think I've ever run more than 3 Line Kazaks + Dozer + Doktor in my experience.

We have a cheating Haqq player that borders three fucking combat groups, though, so that's soured everyone's taste on doing anything that gets you compared to him.

- unlinked burst 1 ML is terrible, if you really want the ML I'd give it to an Unidron. And the Rodok is much better used as an offensive unit.

very. Nomads and Ariadna are probably the most popular in my area. During casual Infinity game nights, it's usually a mix bag though

Nomads were the most popular faction on the last tournament with 3 players out of 14. We have a pretty diverse meta.

Also, if you're new I'd recommend playing 200 pts a few times, to get familiar with the rules and your units.

how old are the line kazaks? i want to jump into ariadna (specifically kazaks whenever CB ends up releasing them in 20 years) but dear god does the faction have a bunch of trash teir old models.

Older than sin. The one's in the updated Vanilla starter are really nice, but the blisters are garbage. Hell, even the OOP starter had better Line Kazaks. Check out Bolt Action's soviets for some decent equivalents, if your table is open to proxies. Or just be man and don't deal with Line Kazaks until the sectorial turns them into ablative health for your Vet Kazaks as well as B2 BS 16 Flash Pulse platforms.

How do you feel about something like a hackable gun emplacement in the middle of the table that could be activated by one of the players? Thematically it could probably fit a Svalarheima table, along the Huangdi border.

I'd just generally be a fan of stationary gun emplacements. As an Ariadna player, I'd be pissed if it was Hacking that activated them, think it a neat idea of it was just Specialists in general. And while I don't imagine it being particularly effective, the idea of a Manned gun emplacement for Ariadna would have be very very interested.

Hi, I'm a Nomad player looking at the new Bacon-Nin starter set, but wondering what's more effective on the Transgression-Nibbler Attentive: The HMG in the new box, or trying to track down some of the now OOP old boxes somewhere while they're still fairly common to obtain a Mk 12? I know a well-placed Sin Eater can be a reactive fire nightmare for my opponents, enough to make taking him head-on suicidal for many but tough units and MSVs, but long story short.

I'm assuming the HMG's extra shot and slightly better ranged accuracy can be more useful in keeping things locked down at range, but the Mk12's 0 SWC and three points plus better close-in accuracy could also make up for the lost shot as well as fit into tight points costs in lists a little better, not to mention handle any closer encounters more effectively (like inside objective rooms). Am I right in assuming they're both about equal in value as long as I don't try and have them perform the wrong jobs at the wrong times?

Or, if there's different types of guns for scenario/campaign play, maybe they have different requirements. Perhaps more advanced guns have better security needing hackers, but the traditional method of forced entry (IE a hammer) works just as fine on less complex guns, while very simple ones are so simple as to be unhackable and need the old brute strength and ignorance.

MK12 is a good weapon when you don't have the SWC for a HMG. Also better at fighting chuckle fucks who get in Pistol range

It's got the damage of a HMG, range bands of a spitfire and costs no SWC. It's pretty much the best of both worlds on a budget.

For me, I was initially going to go with a black armor like an emperor scorpion, but I decided to go with brown to match the rest of my Ramah Taskforce.

I think you can just proxy the HMG model as Mk12 until a new one comes out.

Have a killer hacker handy. Haqqislam is actually pretty good against hacking, as most of their good stuff is unhackable LI and their hackers tend to have WIP14 at least. Also they can Jam everyone with Ghazi.

How can I defend a TAG? My guard got possessed in a game today, because I brought 0 hackers, so should I just have a hacker near? Or a repeater for them to act through?

Riddling the hackers with bullets is effective. KHDs are pretty good as well, though AHDs can work as a substitute. Oblivion is a fucking nasty program that can completely shut down a hacker.

What realy CB should do is finaly give some TAGs to ariadna. Just make them camo and unhackable, because old tech doesn't pop up on scaners and the game will be much better. No more of thise msv2 stupid shit killing whole armies.
A 4 wound TAG arm 6 with dual auto cannons, camo and an option to take a single auto cannon dog warrior pilot that can hulk out and jump out of a destroyed tag and deliver the smack down. Of course it should have a proper high cost. 60pts base plus probably another 10-15 for the extra survivability over two tank hunters. And the dog warrior one should probably cost around 80pts, to realy make people rethink their armies. Plus it would actualy make ariadna viable for all those tournaments with limited insartion, and not just make people spam nomad and aleph lists.

Looks alright for Limited Insertion, but I otherwise wouldn't run it. The Xeodron Haris isn't worth it in regular games and super hamstrings the list in mission play. If you really want to keep it in, the rest of your list needs to have a few concessions such as dropping the Legate and the Rodok for orders.

Dozers are the same shit everybody else gets, except with a couple extra optional doodads. There's plenty of sectorials with only the basic engineer to work with, you're not special.

The French may not have Haris or Duos, but they are far from weak.
They are undergoing update mostly because CB wants to redefine the way they play.

I know it's a WIP but it's nice that the armor plates really look like terracotta. I like it better than the overly highlighted studio models, it has a more natural finish. Also the white is smooth and even, bravo.

I'm retarted, so I clipped off the piece underneath her foot without thought. Then I figured that I wouldn't be able to have her stand on one leg without her occasionally falling off her base (I don't have a drill). So I decided to go with the current result, which looks like a powerslide or something. And this.

It's pretty much exactly the latter. Mobile Briagada. Iguana. This guy. Can't quite fit it on the LI/MI. The rest kind of have a almost standard nomad scheme. The "tribal" markings are more of a legacy leftover from when I was painting Dark Eldar in a cult of red grief scheme.
