How exactly does vampire hair growth work? Does it still grow and get cut the same as a living person?

I'm assuming each vampire has minor transformation abilities and can change their hair length and the like whatever they like.

If I remember right it's fixed to how you were at the time of embrace and the Vampire's body will use blood each day to regenerate it if necessary. So some vampires would need to shave everyday if they had a beard at the embrace, and other would be eternally clean-shaven.
