Space Marine chapter creation thread

Let's create a chapter of space marines. First roll:
>Why Was The Chapter Founded? (d10)

>1d4chan.org/wiki/Space_Marine_Chapter_Creation_Tables

Rolled 1 (1d10)

This first question has always felt superfluous to me.

Roll

Strategic Prognostication - "Our tarot cards say there's going to be a threat here, maybe. Found a Chapter!"

Ok, moving on to the next question
>When Was The Chapter Founded? (d100)

Put it in the options field.

Rolled 55 (1d100)

38th Millenium

Ok so aren't new, but we aren't too old either

>Who was the Chapter's Progenitor? (d100)

Rolled 42 (1d100)

>inb4 Ultramarines

Yep, Ultramarines it is, unless all of you want a re-roll?

If not, then here is the next table:
>Gene-seed purity (d10)

Rolled 6 (1d10)

Ok, so we are going with Ultramarines as our Progenitor

And we got: A New Generation - Gene-seed is slightly divergent (usually because of attempts to breed out flaws, real or not), leading to the Chapter being less linked to its progenitor

>Chapter Demeanour (d10)

Rolled 4 (1d6)

Rolled 5 (1d10)

Purity Above All - Mutants? *BLAM* No.

>If they have one, what mutation do they have? (This doesn't include mutations passed down from their founders, like the Imperial Fists' lack of a Betcher's Gland and Sus-an Membrane.)

Since we are from the Ultra stock, this mutation we roll up have a 10% chance of occuring on a marine we make

And I forgot what die to use

>1d10

Rolled 6 (1d10)

Lost zygote
Ok so 1 in 10 are created without a Zygote

>If one exists, what is the Chapter's Flaw? (d10)

Rolled 2 (1d10)

We Stand Alone - The Chapter is either distrusted for some reason, or shuns contact with others.

>Figure of Legend (d100)

Rolled 17 (1d100)

A Battle-Brother seconded from a previous generation Successor or even the First Founding Legion that provided the new Chapter’s gene-seed. Roll again on this table to determine what type of warrior he was, rerolling if you get this result again.

>Deeds of Legend (d100)

Rolled 70 (1d100)

The hero led a glorious campaign against a rebel army, defeating the foe and bringing an entire sector back into the light of the Emperor.

>Chapter homeworld (d100)

Rolled 49 (1d100)

Lets see if this works

Feral World

>Homeworld terrain (d100)

c'mon wasteland

Rolled 8 (1d100)

forgot the roll

Jungle

>Rule of homeworld (d10)

Rolled 52 (1d100)

Jungle, eh. Way to common that one. Think im the only one here aswell.

Is that a re-roll? If it is, then it's an Ice world

Rolled 5 (1d10)

Was not supposed to be a re-roll but can be if people want it to be. I just didn't notice the changing die.

Personaly I say we go with the ice world, becuase jungle is common in these threads

Distant rule - "You see that castle up there? It's inhabited by the mighty sky-warriors of Emp-rar. Sometimes they come and steal our children."

>Chapter organisation (d10)

...

Rolled 5 (1d10)

Sweet, ice world it is.

Codex-adherent

>Combat doctrine (d10)

...

Rolled 3 (1d10)

fuck, screwed that up. What I get for not coming to Veeky Forums often.

Armoured Assault

Tanks!!!

>What form do the Chapters' beliefs take? (d100)

Rolled 76 (1d100)

So we like to tank around in our sky-castle hideout above a feral ice-planet, how do we act?

Standing Force
40th Millenium
Ultramarines
A New Generation
Suffer Not the Work of Heretics
Lost zygote -
Pride in the Colours
A Battle-Brother seconded from a previous generation Successor or even the First Founding Legion that provided the new Chapter’s gene-seed. Roll again on this table to determine what type of warrior he was, rerolling if you get this result again.--Chapter Master
The figure is remembered as the bane of the Orks, to such an extent that his name is known to the vile greenskins even to this day.
Desert hive world
Stewardship
Divergent chapter
Thunderhawk Assault
Totemic Charm
The Emperor Above All
Under Strength
friendly with --Another Chapter (choose one) --ravens--
enemies of --The Orks

What?

its the summary

That's not what we rolled user

oh

>Death Cult - "SHUT UP YOU GUYS DON'T YOU KNOW WE'RE GOING TO DIE SOME DAY"

chapter strength, 1d10

Rolled 7 (1d10)

we /doomeagles/ now?

Or is it the silver skulls? I have trouble telling them apart.

>Nominal: The Chapter can field ten full companies, each with ten squads. In all likelihood most every squad consist of ten brethren and some specialised appointments may be empty, but the Chapter is regarded as fully fit for battle.

that depends on what our enemies and allies, or at least that's the next roll

2d100

Rolled 80, 5 = 85 (2d100)

Here we go!

And I meant for the whole absolute nihilism schtick.

Rolled 79, 9 = 88 (2d100)

I was trying to do a smooth transition, guy

>allies = Inquisition

now, I fucking hate having orks as a chapter enemy, so I say lets go with 's 79 and say

>enemies = A particular Daemon, Daemon Prince or Disciple of Chaos

Alright! While I summarize, anyone have those chapter name generator images?

Just a second, I have them on my phone.

Here we are. Not sure what order these are in.

I feel like our background with destroying a rebellion and hatred for mutants, despite some of our members having mutations themselves, seems like its getting at something here, especially with the Ultramarine progenitor.

Anyways, we need a 3d10, and a name, which was cool enough to provide the tables with

Rolled 20, 95 = 115 (2d100)

>Dark Zephyrs
Neat.

Rolled 4, 61 = 65 (2d100)

Black Scorpions is cool too.

Rolled 1, 10, 10 = 21 (3d10)

Rolling 3d10's since no one has done it yet

>slightly mutated ultramarines who don't get along with daddy and are a death cult in tanks

OK here's an idea

What if a world on the isolated end of the Ultramarines system actually rebelled, and this chapter smashed the SHIT out of it reclaiming it - possibly destroying it's ecosystem which is why it's an ice world now

This is why they "stand alone", aside from being slightly mutated, they represent and remind the Ultramarines of a great shame - the fall of one of their worlds to heresy, a dark secret, a black mark on their sterling record

The chapter is left to rule over what is left of the ice world and is employed as an internal police against Forseen future corruption and revolution, a sort of ultramarine internal affairs whose job it is to keep an eye on everyone else and slap their shit if they do not adhere to imperial law and the codex Astartes

An imperium Secondus version of the Minotaurs, of sorts. This makes them very unpopular among the other ultramarine chapters and also explains their grim attitudes

One in ten of their brothers have no zygote. These are known as the sinners due, and the chapter believes they represent the debt of violence they owe to the Imperium. Brothers without Zygote are trained and then sent to the death watch to serve, or serve In the chaplaincy as death priests

Pretty good but why do they like tanks so much?

Smashing fortifications
Vast flat tundras
Heavy weapons for fighting their fellow space marines

all of that comes together pretty smoothly. Back in the 38ies, Not!Sicarius Mc Rage managed to purge an entire rogue sector (with the help of tremendous amounts of guards, but who cares about them ?). Such were his deeds of awesomeness that, when the imperial tarot predicted chaos counter-attacks in the upcoming millennium, he was given the resources to build an entire chapter out of his remaining marines.
All was not fine though, for in the heart of a battle against the enemy's greatest champion, our hero had been cursed, and he knew deep down that chaos dark magic had corrupted his gene-seed and many of his brother's ones too.

As such, ashamed of their inherent flaws, our marines shut themselves in their sector, frantically purging anything that reminded them of their own flaws, as to overcome the fact they shall never reach purity again.
