These are the proposed races (plus human) for the campaign The Revolution of Corkheel Square.
Ryder Barnes
>What's the biggest left turn into goofy that your game has taken? Has it been all serious all the time?
We gave serious consideration on the logistics of stuffing a dead Jeremy Irons into our Bag of Holding to get him out of a besieged city.
Halfway through we started doing Christopher Walken impressions and all plot momentum was lost.
Alexander Price
>What's the biggest left turn into goofy that your game has taken? Has it been all serious all the time?
Oh, jesus, we got arrested for entering a city that we had been banned from. While we were in our cells, the druid told the guard that he could turn into a dinosaur. The guard said that dinosaurs aren't real and the two of them got into an argument about it. Eventually the bard joined in and told the druid to transform and prove it.... so he did.
And we escaped the city on the back of a fucking dinosaur as guards tried shooting us off of it.
And don't forget to include your accuracy rates INSIDE the critical calculation too.
Tyler Flores
Why no Avowed Pact for esoteric concepts like the Sun or Moon.
Jaxson Gomez
Because hundreds of different possible pacts
Just homebrew your own
Brayden Gutierrez
>all that and not switching to F A L C A T A
Jack Sanders
He has 4 attacks because he has no way of giving himself haste. He has no way of increasing his size. He also has no advanced weapon trainings.
So here is what I am looking at: >(5*.70*(2.5*2+16+18+5+4+4))+(5*3*.30*(2.5*2+16+18+5+4+4)) >416 DPR
This is assuming all attacks hit.
Benjamin Nelson
I do miss THAT side of the ol' starlocks. We've got the 'eldritch horror' old ones, but no Student of Caiphon>>Radiant One pact. Remember those?
Julian Jenkins
Every session, we almost always have at least 1 spongebob reference. We get a lot of miles out of it, just like the miles we got on our rocks.
Thomas Johnson
But homecraft is tuff
Jason Hughes
After Ultimate Magic came out, the PCs took a voyage on the Sea of Fallen Stars.
The gnome tore a piece of bread in half and put pieces of his dinner in it.
Sandwiches did not exist in Faerun until then.
The gnome explained to the crew what he was doing, but the Cleric of Tempus, who had ranks in Profession (Cook) was disgusted by his explanation.
The rest of the night became Iron Chef, using opposed skill checks from the dueling rules.
Isaiah Lewis
He's level 20. Does he not have enough money to afford Boots of Haste and Permanent Enlarge Person?
Cooper Smith
>We've got the 'eldritch horror' old ones, but no Student of Caiphon>>Radiant One pact. Remember those?
>Paizo titters over Eldritch Horror every ding dong day >The Gods of Sun and Moon are either better known for other things, or stuffed away in the quiet korner for kriminally retarded kids
'Member Pelor? I 'member Pelor. I want to Praise the Sun again. I can't do that with Sarenrae.
Andrew Davis
Oh yes, Sun McBeardy, the Healer. I 'member him. What is it about Sarenrae that prevents you from praising the sun?
Nathan Ward
Construct Pact when? I want to have my Betrothed Companion be a fragment of my own soul!
Colton Ramirez
The sheet didn't list them so I only made assumptions on the sheet.
Cameron Long
'bout 247 without haste. A lot of wasted feats in there though.
Gabriel Gonzalez
>not wanting to make a pact with the moon to hasten the inevitable destruction of Terminus.
Not gonna lie, Groteus is fucking metal
Evan Kelly
>wasted feats
it's a core only fighter, what's he going to take?
Hudson Nguyen
You know what I need? I need for someone to go and stick apropriate googly eyes on EVERY single Pathfinder hardcover book.
I neeed this in my life
Owen Jackson
>all attacks hit
Not going to happen past attack 3 or so.
Mason Foster
Core as in core rulebook or only paizo's core line of books?
Jace Moore
It makes me happy to see you, Construction Man.
Jaxson Cox
... you don't want to pilot it instead? Maybe have it be not so much a fragment of you, but actually the you from another universe?
Andrew Gray
>mfw suddenly I'm playing an Eclipse Phase character and my companions are actually copies are me
Easton Butler
>What is it about Sarenrae that prevents you from praising the sun?
Her association with the Sun only seems to extend so far as her title as "The Dawnflower" and her connection with Arabian Nights.
99% of the time, when you hear about Sarenrae it's about her being the Goddess of Redemption and killing the evil ones. With Pelor at least he had the full Sun and Fire thing going, with Sarenrae it's just vague Middle Eastern stuff.
Alexander Ortiz
Is there anyway to get an enchantment bonus on Aether pulses outside of using it with rounds?
Eli Morgan
They're in the wrong place for Seoni. You KNOW where they need to go.
Grayson Anderson
>You KNOW where they need to go.
You don't use googly eyes for tits.
You use that soft squishy stuff they put in Mouse Pads.
Lincoln Price
None in the first book. None last time I checked the second book.
Gavin Young
It's good to see you too, user.
That would be something entirely different, user, though not an unwelcome set of alternative features.
Mason Baker
I don't get why goggles of focused rays or something like that don't exist.
It seems like such a no-brainier magic item.
Josiah Wood
... I was going to go >THE HELL YOU DON'T with an appropriate image, but it turns out I have no googly eyes here and the dollar store closed an hour ago.
James Watson
Is PF better than 3.5?
Henry Taylor
Sort of.
Tyler Martinez
Core rulebook only
Colton Baker
It fixes a handful of things, opens up as many new problems, but... it does nowadays offer a lot more alternative 3pp subsystems.
As Core only though, the only reason to switch would be you can't find most of your 3.5 stuff anymore and half your search results are that godawful storm of shit links to "d&dwiki > homebrew" that pretend they're not until you get to the bottom of the page fucking everywhere.
Gabriel Baker
>tfw the concept I want doesn't play well with any PF material first or third party >The class either has the mechanics, but not the stats >Or has the stats, but can't do the mechanics well. Suffering.
Ryan Ortiz
I see. I've played hundreds of hours of NWN and know 3e quite well, and recently started playing 5e with some friends and find it kinda lacking. Now I'm considering proposing a switch to 3.5 or PF.
Carson Roberts
Wotc became better at class design in the 6 or so years they've been working, paizo's been working for longer and has not.
Thomas Richardson
Yes and no. It has more fun options out the gate, and they fixed minor things, but in general its really isn't
Liam Perry
We entered a trench war with some redcaps by digging our trenches with magic, laying traps to their front and bombarding them with slings because we didn't want to waste resources. In retaliation they entered small holes in the wall and returned fire. Over time we won, so their survivors retreated into a dead end cave. Still not wanting to waste resources we tried smoking them out with the corpses of their fallen allies serving as fuel, but they all started blowing the smoke our way, forcing us to retreat back to our trenches. The redcaps got reinforcements and went to the offensive by flooding our trench with sewage and mud. Refusing to give up we all burrowed into the mud, hoping for the fey to come to us, but in unleashing the sewage they had also flooded their own holes and were back on the defensive as they were digging their own trench. Growing bored our sorcerer decided to fireball them. With the momentum from the fireball we charge in, only to fall into our own pitfalls that were just deep enough that our heads could still be seen. Redcaps then try to seize the moment charge in, only to trigger the rest of our pitfalls and bear traps, mostly getting stuck while bare few make through. At this point both sides call truce and try this again tomorrow as we retreat back to the surface and the redcaps fill the trenches and pitfalls with sand, both sides tired and humiliated
Cameron Thomas
Just use PF because it's the only thing with active support these days. Nobody makes 3.5 adventures or campaigns anymore.
Ryder Reed
Guns
>All take a full round action to reload >Hit regular AC >Roll 2d20, take lowest to attack >If both hit, automatically threaten critical >If both are 20, automatically threaten and confirm >If either rolls a 1, weapon jams/misfires and you must reload >If both roll a 1, the weapon explodes and hits you
Thoughts?
Ian Cox
Don't just say that and not elaborate, user.
Probably better to go with Pathfinder, all told. A lot of it's cleaned up somewhat.
While you can use PF stuff with 3.5 and 3.5 stuff with Pathfinder, it's probably better to do the latter of the two.
Luke Jones
Well, 3.5 was the dominant system for a while, so surely there's a wealth of material for it.
Isaiah Hernandez
WotR DM! WotR DM!
Are you going to be altering any of the problematic plot points in Books 1 or 2?
Asher Stewart
That's absolutely retarded. Like an extra special level of retarded.
Jason Walker
Gentlemen, how do we release Rovagug?
Blake Mitchell
Not so much. They touched on a few things that 3.5 did poorly but for the most part the designers are terrified of math and ignore it because it makes them feel bad. It's also infested by troons that will re-write stuff over and over again because they can't decide if trannies should be accepted or if they want to focus on "muh struggle".
Ryan Hall
I think dying in a fire is too good for you, troll.
Ian Parker
Nah.
There is a wealth of material, but PF is cleaned up in a number of areas that you'd want to use IT as a base over 3.5.
And you can still use 3.5 stuff in PF with little editing. It's just PF has a better foundation than 3.5
Daniel Garcia
Wait for all the other gods to die.
Liam Hernandez
shouldn't you be lewdposting?
Colton Ross
...
Landon Thomas
Find a loophole in the contract of creation that causes clauses related to rovagug's imprisonment to be voided.
Blake Miller
We don't. Anything that destructive should be harnessed into a coherent beam of destruction.
The "prison planet" becomes a new Death Star
James Lewis
No, those rules are absolutely but fuck retarded.
Why would anyone every use a gun with those rules?
Hunter Evans
Tickle his nuts until he wakes up
Anthony Sanchez
Make Asmo go full edgelord fedora, and have him open up Rova's cage as a final bout of "YOU DIDN'T WIN!"
Kayden Ramirez
No. I've given up. I've asked around the thread more than just a few times and I don't get satisfactory answers.
Joseph Reyes
Her hips?
Wyatt Green
New laptop, I don't really HAVE much reaction images just yet.
Have a party tank.
Daniel Harris
The contract with written by Asmodeus himself, literally the god of contracts.
Christopher Scott
>Hey, lets take the shittiest weapon option in the game, and make it shittier!!! Never play pathfinder again
Aaron Perez
I'd drink from those tats.
David Scott
Is that supposed to be darkness?
Ryan Ross
have smug elves
Charles Evans
Well, tell me right now, and I promise I'll post immediately if I know of anything or not
Jaxson Campbell
Nope, that's probably a contingency in the law magic used to bind Rovagug in the cage. "If I die (see page MDXIII for defintion) release Rovagug."
Thomas Carter
It IS.
Ryan Hall
He is also the god of self absorbed dicks, so there is 100% chance that the contract has a minute loophole that includes something related to his navel gazing tendencies.
Henry Scott
KD is like Disney except instead of everyone getting ranks in Perform (Sing) everyone gets ranks in Hips.
James Lee
I just can't get over how thicc those hips are. They just don't lie
Grayson Collins
Yeah but probably just as a personal contingency.
>I wouldn't do that if I were you. We wouldn't want a little something to get out now would we.
Aiden Campbell
>He is also the god of self absorbed dicks, so there is 100% chance that the contract has a minute loophole that includes something related to his navel gazing tendencies. You actually have to be retarded if you think Asmodeus would leave a loophole.
Jayden Bailey
I do so love thin girls with wide hips.
No fat chicks though.
Nathan Thomas
Speaking of which, the raws for the next chapter of Elf-san wa Yaserarenai were released.
Evan Lee
GREAT SPACE THAT BOOTY!
Alexander Garcia
Kingdom Death is god's gift to us, brother.
Jason Bailey
He wouldn't leave one for anyone ELSE you mean.
Goddamn now that's a paladin you can get behind. Well, Crusader.
Best end would definitely be Megumin wife with Darkness as 2nd/concubine. Mostly just because that would be degrading to her noble self, which will turn her on, and Megumin's a sweetie.
Evan Hernandez
You think trying to create the classic Black Mage in Pathfinder would be easy as hell. But there is no class that is >Int focused >Deals good ranged AoE/Elemental Damage >Is not Vanician Like the closest you can get is an Optimized Destruction Sphere caster but then everyone starts hating you forever or A Psion but they have trouble maintaining a role of damage dealer after a while.
Isaiah Turner
NO
DARKNESS IS SUPPOSED TO HAVE MUSCULAR ARMS AND ABS
>All are free action to reload. All attack regular AC. Bows and crossbows get heavier pull which requires more strength. Guns get rifling which for some reason requires more strength.
>Hand crossbow/shortbow/hand gun = 50 foot range, same damage Regular crossbow/longbow/gun = 100 foot range, same damage
Thoughts?
Brody Cook
Kazuma x Darkness looks like it's going to happen, user.
Hunter Wright
Do you guys think that Groetus has in the boneyard because when Pharasma finally judges the last soul he finally has the courage to descent on the world to ask her out?
Leo Lee
So, lots of talk about the base Avowed now and lots of talk/memes about the Betrothed.
What do people think about the Aspirant? To me, it's in a very weird place conceptually.
It takes away a bunch of things from the base Avowed: >Reduced damage and DCs when below level 8 >Can't take as many clauses because you want to take form modifications >Pact empowerments can't be used outside of aspiration form
In return, you get a bunch of interesting new things: unique pact abilities and form modifications, but... absolutely everything new you get from the archetype, except for one modification from Impatient Transcendence, only applies in your Aspirant form for 5-7 rounds a day. I'm not sure how this works in combat balance, but the feeling of it is very odd.
It's like "you trade out a lot of cool things for things that are slightly more cool in theory, but made much less cool because you can barely ever use them".
Do others feel this is a fair trade? Am I missing something about it?
Jaxon Murphy
um... she's wearing a nighty. it kinda, you know. that's not abs that's cloth.
She DOES have the abs though. She's also got fairly strong arms, but not the giant man shoulders, and said arms are rock-hard.
Jonathan Rogers
>Like the closest you can get is an Optimized Destruction Sphere caster but then everyone starts hating you forever Then don't Optomize the Destruction Sphere, just go straight Sphere Wizard or Incanter with no scum dipping, and maybe some other spheres as well to balance it out. Or an Elementalist might work, though thats reaching into Redmage turf (though you will be able to actually kill things with your knife)
Or make a Spellburst Savant
Or that one NJolly Kineticist archetype that replaces Burn and Con reliance with Int instead
Cameron Lopez
I like the concept ONLY because it lets you be Devilman without being a fucking summoner but it seems really shitty.
Jack Morales
>Groetus is awkward around people >Can't ask his waifu out with people watching >Pharasma makes the procession of a million souls awaiting judgement pass right under him so he never has the opportunity to ask
It's like some shitty anime
Kayden Gutierrez
Also retarded
James Martinez
Kazuma x Megumin very nearly did in 9, and in Volume 10... she interrupts what Darkness admits was going to be a few days of raping kazuma in his sleep after drugging him
Carson Allen
>Then don't Optomize the Destruction Sphere, just go straight Sphere Wizard or Incanter with no scum dipping Shit . Like it seems like you're either doing too much damage or not enough all the time. If I wanted to be mediocre as a damage dealer I'd be a Psion. >Or make a Spellburst Savant Wisdom Based, and Vancian. >Or that one NJolly Kineticist archetype that replaces Burn and Con reliance with Int instead Shit damage
Like I said, there's no winning and I'm throwing in the towel.
Ryan Gonzalez
So exactly what is right up /pfg/'s alley?
Dylan Brooks
When it comes to being a Cleric, has anyone ever made theirs self-sufficient with melee combat? I don't mean trying to usurp the role of a fighter or any other martial character, but more about being capable of handling encounters on your own volition rather than blowing a ton of spells to get through it.
Pic kinda related
Jose Reyes
Yes, it's called take combat reflexes and a reach weapon
