We gave serious consideration on the logistics of stuffing a dead Jeremy Irons into our Bag of Holding to get him out of a besieged city.
Halfway through we started doing Christopher Walken impressions and all plot momentum was lost.

Oh, jesus, we got arrested for entering a city that we had been banned from. While we were in our cells, the druid told the guard that he could turn into a dinosaur. The guard said that dinosaurs aren't real and the two of them got into an argument about it. Eventually the bard joined in and told the druid to transform and prove it.... so he did.
And we escaped the city on the back of a fucking dinosaur as guards tried shooting us off of it.

He has 4 attacks because he has no way of giving himself haste. He has no way of increasing his size. He also has no advanced weapon trainings.
So here is what I am looking at:

Her association with the Sun only seems to extend so far as her title as "The Dawnflower" and her connection with Arabian Nights.
99% of the time, when you hear about Sarenrae it's about her being the Goddess of Redemption and killing the evil ones. With Pelor at least he had the full Sun and Fire thing going, with Sarenrae it's just vague Middle Eastern stuff.
Is there anyway to get an enchantment bonus on Aether pulses outside of using it with rounds?

Sort of.
Core rulebook only
It fixes a handful of things, opens up as many new problems, but... it does nowadays offer a lot more alternative 3pp subsystems.
As Core only though, the only reason to switch would be you can't find most of your 3.5 stuff anymore and half your search results are that godawful storm of shit links to "d&dwiki > homebrew" that pretend they're not until you get to the bottom of the page fucking everywhere.

I see. I've played hundreds of hours of NWN and know 3e quite well, and recently started playing 5e with some friends and find it kinda lacking. Now I'm considering proposing a switch to 3.5 or PF.
Wotc became better at class design in the 6 or so years they've been working, paizo's been working for longer and has not.
Yes and no. It has more fun options out the gate, and they fixed minor things, but in general its really isn't
We entered a trench war with some redcaps by digging our trenches with magic, laying traps to their front and bombarding them with slings because we didn't want to waste resources. In retaliation they entered small holes in the wall and returned fire. Over time we won, so their survivors retreated into a dead end cave. Still not wanting to waste resources we tried smoking them out with the corpses of their fallen allies serving as fuel, but they all started blowing the smoke our way, forcing us to retreat back to our trenches. The redcaps got reinforcements and went to the offensive by flooding our trench with sewage and mud. Refusing to give up we all burrowed into the mud, hoping for the fey to come to us, but in unleashing the sewage they had also flooded their own holes and were back on the defensive as they were digging their own trench. Growing bored our sorcerer decided to fireball them. With the momentum from the fireball we charge in, only to fall into our own pitfalls that were just deep enough that our heads could still be seen. Redcaps then try to seize the moment charge in, only to trigger the rest of our pitfalls and bear traps, mostly getting stuck while bare few make through. At this point both sides call truce and try this again tomorrow as we retreat back to the surface and the redcaps fill the trenches and pitfalls with sand, both sides tired and humiliated
Just use PF because it's the only thing with active support these days. Nobody makes 3.5 adventures or campaigns anymore.

Probably better to go with Pathfinder, all told. A lot of it's cleaned up somewhat.
While you can use PF stuff with 3.5 and 3.5 stuff with Pathfinder, it's probably better to do the latter of the two.
Well, 3.5 was the dominant system for a while, so surely there's a wealth of material for it.

Not so much. They touched on a few things that 3.5 did poorly but for the most part the designers are terrified of math and ignore it because it makes them feel bad. It's also infested by troons that will re-write stuff over and over again because they can't decide if trannies should be accepted or if they want to focus on "muh struggle".

There is a wealth of material, but PF is cleaned up in a number of areas that you'd want to use IT as a base over 3.5.
And you can still use 3.5 stuff in PF with little editing. It's just PF has a better foundation than 3.5

So, lots of talk about the base Avowed now and lots of talk/memes about the Betrothed.
What do people think about the Aspirant?
To me, it's in a very weird place conceptually.
It takes away a bunch of things from the base Avowed:
>Reduced damage and DCs when below level 8
>Can't take as many clauses because you want to take form modifications
>Pact empowerments can't be used outside of aspiration form
In return, you get a bunch of interesting new things: unique pact abilities and form modifications, but... absolutely everything new you get from the archetype, except for one modification from Impatient Transcendence, only applies in your Aspirant form for 5-7 rounds a day.
I'm not sure how this works in combat balance, but the feeling of it is very odd.
It's like "you trade out a lot of cool things for things that are slightly more cool in theory, but made much less cool because you can barely ever use them".
Do others feel this is a fair trade? Am I missing something about it?

Then don't Optomize the Destruction Sphere, just go straight Sphere Wizard or Incanter with no scum dipping, and maybe some other spheres as well to balance it out. Or an Elementalist might work, though thats reaching into Redmage turf (though you will be able to actually kill things with your knife)
Or make a Spellburst Savant
Or that one NJolly Kineticist archetype that replaces Burn and Con reliance with Int instead

When it comes to being a Cleric, has anyone ever made theirs self-sufficient with melee combat? I don't mean trying to usurp the role of a fighter or any other martial character, but more about being capable of handling encounters on your own volition rather than blowing a ton of spells to get through it.
