Hey Ordion, I was messing around with Builds for Hell Invasion. I don't know if this criticism will be relevant for the remake.

I felt like there were too many points in both the amount of powers you could pick up and weapons. Each Origin had 10 skills available (6 from their base class and 4 from the subclass) with 7 choices, wasn't much decision making. Weapons weren't quite as bad at 14 choices with 5 points, but it still felt a bit much.

Thematic improves how well the magic scales with mana used. It doesn't work on purely passive things like physical skills.

I don't know if a defense-themed outfit would actually do anything. You don't spend mana on physical attributes, they're all passive. I suppose you could extend the rules as stated to cover passive effects as well, though.

Also, you're working off an old version. You can pick two outfits now, and merge styles and effects.

Actually, that's a good question. Can players double up on outfit choices? I don't see any good reason not to allow it, except maybe for OP things like Flowing + Flowing, but four more rites isn't too powerful, is it?

Khif - A balanced race that leans towards magic. Fits my fighting goals strongly.
Prophet - More for the big mana boost. While I expect to melee a lot, I want to use a lot of spells to augment it.
Strength - Because I do plan to melee a lot.
Agility - I prefer being fast and speedy to slow.
Charisma - For vanity mainly.

Battlemage - Balanced
Polearm (6) - Versatile and hard-hitting.
Staff (6) - Magic.
Hybrid (1) - Because I only have two hands.
Shield Catalyst (4) - For things a Frost Wall won't block.
Shortsword (3) - For backup.

Frost Unlock - I love ice, I love the cold.
Obsidian Ice - First up, getting better weapons will be most valuable early on when I can't sling spells so much.
Cryro Shot - Bread and butter.
Frozen Heart - Helps make up for having no endurance marks.
Seeker Shards - Very good deterrent for smaller foes.
Shatter - Because everything is getting covered in ice, and it'll tear apart crowds.
Ice Permeance - Terrain control is great, but it's even better when your terrain is different from your opponent's.
Wall of Ice - Lots of neat tricks to do with this if you think about it, but mainly, this is for the terrain control. Anyone that can't fly is going to have a hard time.

None of these guilds fit nor are they interesting.

None of the companions really interest me either. Faren Lovell is the only one it'd be useful to know, but I don't want to fight with him.

Runic Expedition - Just seems like the most interesting.
Raptor Mounts - Never going to use it for anything, but alright.

Ember Drinker (W) - More cold.
Comet - Remember how I said I like going fast? This is the earliest I can do so. Comes with more meat grinder too.
Glacial Absolution - I need a final attack. It's a real killer to crowds, especially when combined with shatter for the stubborn.

Skirmish - I need some major battlefield experience.
Tyrant Mounts - Still not using much.

Force Unlock - Only want it for a few things. I had the kinetic shield in my list of wants, though.
Direction (A) - Being able to MAKE walls is nice, being able to phase through them is great, but being able to walk and run and flip off of them opens up a wealth of maneuver opportunities.
Arcane Unlock - I REALLY love this school, but my hyper-focus on Frost because of its synergy with all of its own spells requires me to only take the essentials from it in the build.
Void Stare - Not going to be used much, but it's a pre-req.

Reclamation - None of these grabbed me, but the Det here seems like the best match for me, and there's lots of small foes to eat up.
Drake Mounts - Ehhhh.

Momentum - Helps both melee as well as agile maneuvers.
Unstoppable Force - Not using it much, just a pre-req.
Launch - Now this one is fun. The thing about being able to jump super high is that, at a different angle, that same leg movement can be used to dash forward. This is the second fast spell I can get.
Void Call - Like I said above, mana intensive combat needs mana boosting.
Haste Cast - And this is a great emergency button to deal with surprises.

Speaking of MOBAs, for the MOBA CYOA remake, would people like a custom spell maker similar to the one in Woadheim?

Sanity - I feel my build is particularly good at magical single combat, and this has the strongest single opponent. So it's my best choice here from that perspective.
Mana Glass Coins - If it wasn't clear, I don't care much for the mounts. The etches are nice, but I don't have the spell slots for them.

Hel's Scream - To boost my finisher.
Glacial Armor (A) - I can handle a slight loss in speed at this point, for the extra defense.
Undead Unlock - I'm really only interested in the blood and soul magic, not so much the minions. Had to cut this one down massively too.
Masochism - Works well with any build that gets up close. Might help by giving at least a little benefit from mana burns instead of them being a complete killer.
Life Drain - Funnily enough? The ONLY healing option available to me in any of my schools. The possible de-aging is nice too, it's a good starting point for life extension research.
Overload - A finisher for Frost-resistant foes.
Void Tap (A) - Yet more mana.
Star Burst (W) - And a nice anti-mage effect. Wish I could've put it in sooner, but it'll never stop being useful.

If I had more schools, Flame and Lightning would be early for fast + esoteric cold effects like cold fire.

Otherwise, I just want to continue studies of Soul and Arcane energies. The Life energy of Nature is interesting, but it just has no synergy with other things in my build to justify purchase. The esoteric energies like this seem like they'd be very important reality, more so than regular elements etc, and would be the best places to look for continued study and discovery of new, weird magic. I noticed that one guy might be working up to full on blood magic via Arcane + Undead, and I noticed one girl with a similar focus as me had unique foresight powers. I'm wondering if that's the result of some unknown synergy between Frost and Arcane, which'd be really worth looking into.
